Fertile Dream Foundation Distributes Face Mask To Lagosians As The Second Wave Of Covid-19 Hits Up

As Nigeria prepares for the next wave of Covid19 outbreak, a non profit organizations called Fertile Dream Foundation has commenced the distribution of Facemasks to persons and communities across Nigeria. Few days ago, Team members of Fertile Dream Foundation visited the ever busy and crowded Berger Bus-stop in Ojodu, Lagos state, where it distributed over 20,000 facemasks to help curb the threatened viciousness of the second wave of Covid19.

Speaking to newsmen during the outreach, Mr. Otunba Jamiu Olakunle Azeez, the Founder of Fertile Dream Foundation stated that the distribution of facemasks was to help provide sustainable solutions in managing the spread of the Covid19 in Nigeria, especially as we anticipate a second wave of the pandemic. He further noted that more facemasks will be distributed immediately after the holidays in Lagos and across other states in Nigeria.

He however encouraged Nigerians to adhere strictly to the new Covid19 guidelines provided by the presidential task force on Covid19, stressing that, collective co-operation is key to combating the virus as it has become the most dreaded threat to humanity. Also reviewing reactions from beneficiaries of the facemasks distributed by Fertile Dreams Foundation, several persons appreciated and expressed gratitude to the Organization for such a kind and magnanimous contribution towards saving lives, as well as managing the spread of the virus.

However, Fertile Dreams Foundation has over the years remained responsively commited in its contributions to support humanity, especially in the health sector. In several occasion the Organization has been engaged in medical outreaches, distribution of scholarship, support in areas of Grants and other areas of critical concerns.

In 2006, Fertile Dreams Foundation launched Keep Your Dreams Alive Program. Since the launch of this program, the Organization has been able to reach out to alot of communities through provisional scholarship to support the education of children, paymemt medical bill, empowerment initiatives and other projects aimed at keeping the dreams of young persons alive.

Most of the beneficiaries of Keep your dreams alive program had graduated from the university and are performing excellently in their various careers, some of which are Segun Adelaja who finished from LASU, Taofiq Aminu from IBB University where he studied sociology, Kayode Asubiojo who graduatedfrom LASPOTECH with a very good grade in banking and finance, amongst others. Fertile Dreams Foundation has indeed become a channel for the realization and actualisation of dreams for several persons across Nigeria. NSCDC Boss Orders Full Investigation Into Benue Shootings, Invites State Commandant For Questioning


The recent shootings by an Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC has continued to attract lots of mixed reactions especially as Nigerians demand justice in this regard. However, the Commandant General of NSCDC, CG Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana has since yesterday ordered a full scale Investigation into the matter, assuring that justice must take it's place.


In statement issued by CG Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana, he stated emphatically that the misconduct of Sunday Adakole Ada, a staff of the Nigeria Civil Defense and Security Corps, who allegedly killed two youths in Otukpo on Christmas Day wasn't the ideal Character of a trained Agro Ranger, a special unit of the NSCDC.

The office of the CG has however invited the Benue state Commandant, as he assured Nigerians and especially the people of Benue State to maintain calm and continue to support the operations of Agro Rangers Unit, so as to ensure the adequate provision of security in areas of safety for lives and properties especially in vulnerable communities.


According to reports, Officer Sunday Adakole shot one Jennifer Robert and a young man during their routine patrol. In defence, the suspected Adakole who is currently in custody narrated that he was only trying to warm the air. He says, "I was only on patrol with my team when I decided to warm the air.
"After that, I was told one person died and one other injured. It was not intentional".

However, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp-NSCDC Agro Ranger Unit has continue to make progressive improvements in areas of providing adequate security for lives and properties especially for farmers and their farmlands. Their operations in recent times have been applauded and commended by several persons, Institutions and groups.

NSCDC Restates Commitment To Peace In Borno, Lays Headquarters Foundation In The State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp NSCDC, has held a ground breaking and foundation laying of its headquarters in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

According to the statement by Ekunola Gbenga, media assistant to the Commandant General at the ceremony on Monday, the Commandant General, Abdullahi Muhammad said the building would provide a conducive environment for staff to put in their best performance.

He promised to give special attention to the welfare and promotion of personnel especially those in the theatres of war.

He said NSCDC would work in synergy with other security forces to rid the region of insurgency and terrorism.

Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum applauded the effort of NSCDC in the restoration of civil authority in the state and called on the Federal Government to provide the Corps with state-of-the-art equipment to contain criminal activities.

On thursday, 3rd December 202o, ECOSMART⅘ INITIATIVE was officially launched by its founder, miss Sonia Somuvie and her team at the Immaculate Hotel and apartments in abuja.

The Ecosmart initiative is a Climate Change Advocacy organisation with a sole vision of 'combating global warming' by taking urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 13 in Nigeria. Following their previous project on the 22nd of February 2020 where they organized the clean up of the Jabi lake and was joined by the fisher men community in Jabi to rid the lake of over 200 bags of pet plastic trash and a tree planting project in Mpape where they landscaped the primary school and crush rock on their CLEAN AIR (#i_air_vest) campaign with over 100 plants and support by the mpape community and love fm radio on the 29th of August, 2020, the founder and her team officially announced their organisation's vision and plans for 2021 during the launching event.
They plan to rid the environment of over 1 ton of plastic waste and plant at least 1, 200 trees amongst other sensitisation and community projects in the 2021.

During the opening speech, the founder admonished guests to be a part of the project by signing up as volunteers, sponsoring trees and clean up projects, by partnering with then, by referring like minds to be a part of the team and also by opening up their private organisations to them for awareness campaigs and sensitisation programmes. The call to action is to combat climate change by investing on trees, reduce carbon and encourage a cleaner environment. She urged physical and online guests to be more responsible for their environment by practising better hygiene outside their homes and avoid indiscriminate disposal of waste in public places.

The team members of the organisation was present, dignitaries and special guests of like minds as well as children representatives from the Destined Orphanage Home was present also. As a closing remark, miss Sonia Somuvie urged people present to sponsor trees and be self advocates for a cleaner, greener environment, just as she is calling you today to become a volunteer.

FRSC Commends Garment Factory Owned By Hon. Jim Okolo During Inspection Exercise

Few days ago the Federal Road Safety Corps-FRSC, paid an inspection visit to the Garment of Hon. Jim Okolo, a former Member of the Federal House of Representatives and CEO of Jimez Petroleum Resources Limited. According to reports, the Personnels of the Federal Road Safety Corps-FRSC, were received by Hon. Jim Okolo Portharcourt, Rivers, State.

Hon. Jim took them around his standard, multifunctional garment factory, which is designed to produce and manufacture massive numbers of para-military garments, including wears, shoes and others. The well-spaced factory may yet be one of the most standard garment factory in Rivers state and across Nigeria, considering its size, machineries, technology and human resources.

Speaking with Hon. Okolo, he described the inspection visit by officers of FRSC as a welcome developments, with emphasis on the professed encouragements, remarks and commendations on his garment factory. He however assured Interested and certified agencies across Nigeria and Africa, of its world-class service delivery, especially in quality, durability and creativity.

He also appreciated them for their concerns in ensuring standards and promoting quality in garment productions across Rivers state and the country in entirety. Hon. Dr. Maduka, Engr. Nwafulugo, Sir Ukatu emerge Anambra Man, Woman and Businessman of the Year respectively.

It was an epoch making event yesterday at Awka when Dr. Godwin Maduka was decorated the Anambra Man of the Year, 2020. The event which was massively attended by the public and dignitaries was the first of its kind in the State. Dr. Maduka was selected for his invaluable contributions to the society.

Maduka while thanking the organizers, said he was humbled by the award and was inspired and prepared to do more for the people of Anambra State. Dr. Maduka, visibly elated commended the organizers of the award and reitrated the importance of celebrating heroes in the society which he believed would in turn spur the coming generations to work harder to be like these heroes. He enjoined Anambrarians to begin to think home as a matter of urgency and urged everyone present to contribute the best they could to promote the good image of the state.
Other award recipients were Engr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo, the first female Rector of federal Polytechnic ,Oko who bagged award as Anambra Woman of the year for being an inspiration to other women through outstanding scholarship and effective administration. Sir Mallinson Ukatu won the businessman/industrialist of the year for showing exemplary integrity in entrepreneurship and for job creation.

H.E Eze Amb. Jerome Ezeneche, Eze Ndigbo in Asia received award as the diaspora man of the year for being a rallying figure, a true ambassador and defender of what is best for Ndigbo in Asia.

Other award categories were Banker of the Year, which went to Lady Princess Nkiru Okolo, the Regional manager of Zenith bank, Anambra state who has won for 4 consecutive times Jim Ovia award for high performance. Others include, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke (Enyioha ) selected for his consistency and unwavering loyalty to party supremacy and ideology since 1999.

Public servant of the year went to DIG Celestine Okoye for being instrumental to the birthing of Anambra Zone 13 police headquarters, while Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, Nigeria’s youngest ambassador and a high flyer was decorated with Anambra Rising Star Award, for exemplary leadership at a young age.

Lifetime Achievement Award went to Hon. Justice Nkem Amelia Izuako, a former judge of United Nations Dispute Tribunal for showing at the global stage that Nigerian Judges can be professional and incorrupt. Lady Ann Chika Chukwuneke, an industrialist of about 50 years also received lifetime achievement award.

CSP Garba of #Endsars fame and DPO of Fegge police station won the Anambra Hero of the Year for demonstrating that police can truly be the friend of the public.

Uche Onwuamaegbu, the Anambra STEM pioneer, Ekenedilichukwu Igwe, the feather plucking machine inventor and Amarachi Okafor, the female painter received award as Anambra innovator of the year, Young innovator of the year and most inspiring woman of the year respectively, while Ada Obinna Edozie Esq, Engr. Eloka Ejeh and Evang. Ikenna Anakor received award as Anambra legal person of the year, oil and gas person of the year and humanitarian person of the year.

Dr. Ethel Obiakor and Chief Ifeanyi Orakwue of Radio Sapientia received award as media persons of the year, while Lady Uju Dike, the proprietress of Anambra’s most rated private school, British Spring College and Springfield School won the best school proprietors award.

Mr. Emeka Asoanya, Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government, won the award as the most innovative local government council chairman. Edekobi Jude Anayo (Ichoku Agulu) was given award for promoting Igbo language through entertainment.
