Popular Billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin Gives Back Tithe and Offering to Nigerians as he donates over 300 million Naira in the fight against COVID-19* "Take back your Tithe and Offering" Popular Billionaire Prophet, Jeremiah Fufeyin, facilitates 300Mllion naira Charity against the CoronaVirus Outbreak . In a recent interview with StrokesAfrica.com, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin is quoted to have given back tithe and offering to Nigerians by way of charity, through his Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin (JOF) Foundation. The Man of God said that there is no better time for Men Of God to give back to members, followers and society as a whole, than this COVID-19 Isolation period. He stressed that it is very insensitive for Pastors to suggest the collection of tithe and offering from members through an online services and banking as everyone is obviously going through a tough times. In light of this, Prophet Fufeyin has been seen giving back to Nigerians since the lockdown kicked off, through the JOF Foundation. To start with, the Man of God has released over 25 Million Naira to his church workers, members and staff, to alleviate the effects of this season because, as they say, charity begins at home. Secondly, he donated trailer trucks that were fully stocked with preservable food items worth over 50 Million Naira, to the Federal Government through the instrumentality of Delta State Government, and also to other riverine areas. Thirdly, Fufeyin has, so far, given out over 250 Million Naira on all his social media platforms since the lockdown began, and will continue till 14th of April and even more. He is still very much willing to continue giving for as long as it takes. The Man of God also reinstated that his Prophecies towards the disappearance of the CoronaVirus pandemic remains valid and unwavering. He has called on all well meaning Nigerians, and Men of God to do likewise, healing the world, one step at a time. By Dr. Godwin Maduka We welcomed the year 2020 with very high hopes, marching in great strength and zeal. We charted a course to explore the new year. The news on Coronavirus started trickling in December 2019 and we hoped that it would be managed till when it fizzles out. My heart goes out to people in Italy, China, Spain and even here in the US; one of the hardest hit countries in the world, where most have lost their means of livelihood and loved ones to the pandemic. As the world battle the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in almost all the countries, I’m distraught at the level of fatality caused by this contagion. The pandemic has created a semblance of war, the uncertainty and chaos everywhere in the world, have made governments to face the daunting task of trying to save lives, at the same time hoping to salvage the economy. In fact, it has been a long time since mankind has been faced with this kind of pressure, which has unsettled world leaders. It is worrisome to come to terms with the fact that most developed countries are running out of ideas on the challenges Covid 19 pose on healthcare and the economy. Despite my full grasp of the sophisticated health care system in the USA, I daresay that it struggles under the weight of this scourge. Unfortunately, as I write here, a vaccine is yet to be developed and certified to quell this rampaging and destructive contagion which has infected over 1m people across the globe. I am immensely disturbed concerning the fate of my people in Africa. Unfortunately for me, due to flight restrictions occasioned by the lockdown order here in Nevada, some parts of America and even in my homeland, Nigeria, I am unable to be with my people in this trying and nerve-wracking period. I feel for our people and fear that a state of hopelessness could pervade the polity. It is my utmost wish to be in Nigeria, in body and spirit and to be with my people at this trying time. I feel it is a set time for me to give hope in my own little way, to offer professional advice where necessary and to provide a veritable guide in cases of emergencies. As I write this piece, I am indoors here in America observing the do’s and dont’s of staying safe. I urge everyone to do the same and to be wary of taking this pandemic for granted. As an expert in the medical field, it is most advisable that we adhere strictly to government directives and medical instructions to safeguard our lives. This is the only known solution to escape the wrath of this contagion, at least for now. The age-long hygiene practices of regular hand washing, coupled with the use of sanitizers must be maintained. People must endeavor to cough or sneeze in their elbows, handkerchief and toilet tissues. I must at this juncture commend the efforts made by the Federal Government of Nigeria and State Governments to contain this contagion. I would encourage improvement where there are noticeable lapses. Similarly, I am particularly pleased by the firmness and professionalism with which the Lagos State Government is tackling this challenge head on. This true and empathetic leadership is worthy of emulation. Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu has proven his mettle and has etched his name in gold as a defender of what is best for the people. It is also important not to dismiss the efforts of the Ministry of health, ably led by Dr Osagie Ehanire, and the dogged and indefatigable Dr Chikwe Ihekwuazu of the NCDC. These men are working tirelessly with other government agencies and taskforce to see that Covid-19 is kept at bay. You all have shown that with the right support we can tackle any challenge that rears its face. Even though it would appear that our efforts to contain this contagion is belated, we are taking giant strides. It also gladdens my heart that Anambra is not left open without the barricades of governance. The efforts of the State Government led by Chief Willie Obiano is commendable. The Governor has taken steps to ameliorate the suffering of Anambrarians who bear the pain of the lockdown. I am aware that Governor Obiano has been very proactive in delivering a state of the art isolation centre in Onitsha ,adjudged one of the bests in the country. He has also provided surge centres at Mbaukwu and other parts of the state. These are all steps in the right direction. I must also commend all the donors who are giving out of their wealth, investments and mite in order to push this malaise out of the country.I must encourage others to join the train. The manner in which the private sector rallied round government in the fight against Covid-19 is laudable. It is a proof that we can actually unite and whenever we do, we have always defeated our common enemy. On my own, I have decided to reach out through my foundation and other credible platforms. I will support as much people as possible, and help reduce the burden of their suffering during this difficult and challenging time. In the coming days, I will touch the lives of a greater number of our people who are in need, because I understand the urgencies for the needed support, the anxieties of the people and their immobility at this time. We will coordinate it in ways that do not jeopardise the safety guidelines put together by medical experts and government. This state of hopelessness in the health sector of our country has motivated me to construct a world class medical research institute at Umuchukwu, knowing full well that no medicine is worth its name without research anywhere in the world. The medical institute will go a long way in providing the needed infrastructure in the state while creating an enabling environment for the grooming of experts in the healthcare sector.I am glad that the medical research institute is nearing completion. I am also positive that on completion, this institute will provide a good lease of life for people of my state and my country. This is neither a time for politics nor to trivialize issues, but a time that calls for sober reflection and demands support to our leaders, in their quest to care for the sick and the weak in our society. This is also the time to unite and forge a front to defeat this common enemy; Covid-19. Despite the gloom and the anxieties that has borne fatalities and doom, there is still hope for mankind. Recently, Wuhan in China, a place first hit by the deadly virus is beginning to bounce back to social and economic life. Italy and Spain; countries which had the highest share of fatalities seem to be witnessing a sharp drop in the number of deaths and new cases. We are hoping to see the curve of the spread flatten in the United States of America. Moreso, I’m glad that the survival rate here in Nigeria and in most African countries, are quite high. Infected persons who have recovered are being discharged in droves while compliance to measures meant to curb the contagion is gaining traction through a collective strategy of information dissemination and governance. Therefore, the novel Coronavirus is not a death sentence, we must not allow fear to take over our lives. I must encourage Africans-in-Diaspora who returned from countries where this contagion is prevalent to obey Government directives on Self- Isolation, as this will help to a very large extent, to curb the spread among loved ones, and curtail large scale community transmission.I daresay that with the right attitude, the novel Coronavirus is defeatable. If we do the right thing, the country will be up and running in a couple of weeks. There are lessons to reflect upon from this scourge and when the lessons are rightfully implemented, it has the potential capacity to usher in positive developments in our country. It has dawned on us that there is the need to strengthen our healthcare system. There is no doubt that healthcare is intricately linked to a working and robust national economy. We need to create measures that will fortify our healthcare system for this kind of shock and other kinds of shocks to lives and the economy. We also need to improve on our database. Adequate database would have helped in contact tracing and even in the distribution of all the welfare packages to citizens at this time. We must also strengthen our educational infrastructures. We must be deliberate in our effort to raise acclaimed researchers who can help with homegrown solutions at a time like this. This depression has also engendered an inventiveness in our people. It has led to the rise of so many cottage industries which can be harnessed in our SME programmes. In order to cushion the expected Post-Corona doldrums and gross unemployment in the economy, government should systematically invest in the Small and Medium scale ventures of our people. The lessons learnt from this global shock must be localised and be translated into tangible and systemic changes for the betterment of our people. It has shown us the things that are important for all mankind to thrive and live long and fulfilled lives. We must take up the gauntlet of the daunting responsibilities foisted upon us as leaders in different spheres to make life better for the people. Now is the time to stand with our people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6N_fMpo7Yg Dr. Godwin Maduka, a medical doctor, writes from Las Vegas, United States of America https://www.thecable.ng/a-time-to-stand-with-the-people

Enugu APC stakeholders condemn undue affronts on Onyeama by factional Chairman Amidst the ongoing crisis within the All Progressive Congress in Enugu state, media personality and APC, Enugu Deputy Governorship Candidate, Amb. Ginika Tor Williams has expressed complete dissatisfaction in the continuous attack by the factional Chairman of APC in Enugu state Mr. Ben Nwoye against the honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Geoffrey Onyeama. She expressed displeasure via a press statement alleging the way and manner Ben Nwoye's actions in recent times may be geared at jeopardizing the unity and structure of the party in Enugu state. Amb. Tor Williams, noted that the sponsored attacks believed to have been okayed by Nwoye through one Nwajoku Okugo alleging that the Hon. Minister has tested positive to the Covid19 virus and visited Enugu state to spread the virus was defamatory, wicked and treacherous. She noted that Nwoye who was acting as the Chairman of the Party in the state is practically unfit to hold such office, because he lacks the temperament required to lead the party to a positive direction. She further stated that Nwoye has capitalized on the gentle nature of Hon. Onyeama by way of insults at every slight opportunity, undermining his efforts to build peace and unity in Enugu APC. She therefore called on the National Executive Council of the Party to caution Mr. Nwoye to desist from activities like sponsorship of propaganda news against Hon. Geoffrey, unguided verbal attacks and public alterations that ridicules his integrity and personality. Recall that a reaction on the social media credited to Ben Nwoye, accused the Minister of Foreign Affairs to be responsible for the detention of one Prince Nwanjoku James Okugo, at Police station over his false report that Mr. Onyeama tested positive to corona virus disease. Nwoye while briefing press on Saturday, April 4, in Enugu further accused the Foreign affairs minister of intimidating party members in the state using his position, instead of supporting to the building of the party in Enugu state. Amb. Tor Williams also highlighted some unpatriotic activitie of Nwoye, with regards to his alleged relationship with the Peoples Democratic Party in the state. She revealed that Nwoye has been a loyalist of PDP disguised as an APC member. She also stated that on the day of Presidential Inauguration, Nwoye avoided leading Enugu team to attend the President's inauguration but was rather spotted at the Governor's Inauguration in Enugu while the case between APC vs PDP was still in court. She expressed that it was the height of irresponsibility on the part of Ben Nwoye and his cohorts, stressing that it was time to put a stop to his act of insubordination. She also noted that the party cannot continue to look the other way when their leader's name and reputation are constantly being tarnished. "I am of the opinion that James Akugo should be made to face the music and answer for his crimes for tarnishing the reputation of a high ranking Federal Government Official because he must have weighed the consequences of his actions before doing that. This factional politics by Nwoye and his group has been taken too far and must be stopped," says Williams. She applauded Onyeama's efforts in promoting the next level agenda of President Buhari, as she commended his humble and focused pragmatism both at state and national level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yUg6nbKZys Meanwhile, the personal assistant to the minister, Flavour Eze, has exonerated his principal from the travails of Mr Okugo. Mr Eze in a statement said he was the one who wrote to the police because Mr Okugo in the said social media post also allegedly defamed his person. He said he wrote in his personal capacity as a Nigerian who deserves justice. “My attention has been drawn to the attempt by Mr. Ben Nwoye, a supposed Chairman of the Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to politicise a case that I reported to the police against one Nwanjoku James Okugo, who criminally defamed me through various publications in social and print media” “The said Nwanjoku, a close associate of Ben Nwoye, alleged that the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama and I; Chief Flavour Eze, his Personal Assistant, were the two persons who tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and had gone to Enugu with the deliberate intention of spreading the disease in the state. He further called on the Government of the State to arrest us”. Mr Eze said the sole intention of the allegations “was to cause widespread alarm and panic in the state and endanger the lives of the minister and myself by inciting hatred against us through demonization.” “I, in my personal capacity, reported the matter to the Nigerian Police after the period given to the author of the article to retract the malicious write-up had elapsed. The police have since swung into action; arrested the suspect and are currently making progress in their investigation. “My candid advice to them is to face the case with the police and stop looking for scapegoats. “Meanwhile, I am not unaware of the role of Mr. Ben Nwoye, the boss of Nwanjoku in the whole affair," Eze said. An APC chieftain in the State, Adaku Ogbu-Aguocha, also condemned the continuous attack on the minister. Ogbu-Aguocha, who was the Enugu East Senatorial candidate of APC in the 2019 general election, argued that the minister had no hand in the arrest. "The arrest of Mr Nwanjoku was as a result of a petition by a member of the party to the Inspector General of Police and it has nothing to do with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Although the minister has come under attack from forces within the party in the state; and as a perfect gentleman, he has always remained unperturbed with grace,” she said She further stated that, “People cannot hide under the cover of social media, maliciously concoct and spread fictitious stories that has no bases and publish same to malign the image and integrity of our leaders, then turn around to cry 'intimidation.' Mr. Nwanjoku and his sponsors should face the consequences of their fake news peddling and leave Mr Onyeama out of it. Nigerians know that the Honorable Minister is a man of outstanding character and integrity and cannot be distracted from the excellent service he has been providing for the nation and Mr. President,” She said. Another APC Chieftain, Hon. Ejike Njeze in his reaction said ”In my candid opinion, It is actually overdue for the NWC to call Nwoye to order over his continued unwarranted attacks and unabated insults on the person of Hon Minister of Foreign Affairs who is the Leader of our great party (APC) in Enugu state. "Notwithstanding the Minister's calm and gentle nature, It is totally unacceptable and highly condemnable for a supposed State Party chairman to occupy himself seizing every single window of opportunity he gets to defame and malign the Leader of our great party in the person of the Honourable Minister of foreign affairs for no reason. This unholy and treacherous behaviour has to stop. I must also commend the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs for his consistent demonstration of maturity and exemplary leadership by always keeping his cool even in the face of the most unwarranted provocation. The party hierarchy must wade in now and end this mess in the party," says Njeze. In his reaction, Comrade Udeh who was the pioneer deputy chairman of APC in Enugu state, stated that it was Chief Ben Nwoye who traded the fortunes of the party in Enugu State. Udeh described the detained Nwanjoku as a man working for Chief Ben Nwoye, that the arm of the law will soon descend on him. Another APC chieftain in Enugu state Elder El Ajah also added that he has an outstanding issues bordering on malicious damage to his private life against Prince Nwanjoku based upon which he was arrested by the police, thereby exonerating the Foreign affairs minister from the present predicament of Prince Nwanjoku. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHmR7YDEymE https://massmediang.com/enugu-apc-stakeholders-condemn-undue-affronts-on-onyeama-by-factional-chairman/

#COVID-19: FCT Minister orders closure of markets, neighbourhood centers in Abuja Following the outbreak of Coronavirus outbreak in Abuja, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Malam Muhammad Bello, has ordered the closure of shops in markets and neigbhourhood centers to traders across Abuja. Bello explained that the measure was to help tackle the spread of COVID-19 across FCT. He, however, stated that only shops selling essential products and bakeries are to remain open but should abide strictly to laid down measures. The Minister issued the order during a press briefing yesterday in Abuja and was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Anthony Ogunleye. Bello stated that the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, was preparing multiple health isolation and treatment centres across the territory to better manage cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in the FCT. Bello disclosed that the FCT Administration has been working “very closely with the University Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada to expand the capacity of the current isolation and treatment centre at that location so that it would be able to accommodate more patients by providing needed essential facilities.” He further disclosed that the Zuba General Hospital would also be converted into an isolation and treatment centre to accommodate more patients, should the need arise. Other treatment centers are also being prepared, the Minister said. Other measures to curtail the spread of the virus include the “closure of shops in markets and neighborhood centers to traders except those who sell essential commodities and medicines. Pharmacies and supermarkets selling essential products and bakeries are however to remain open but should abide by strictly laid down measures,” Malam Bello said. Bello also disclosed that Civil servants in the FCTA on grade level 12 and below have also been directed to remain at home starting from Tuesday, 23rd March 2020 till further notice. He, however, stated that all workers on grade level 12 and below on essential duties such as water supply, fire service, security and medical services, emergency response officers as well as environmental protection workers are exempted from the stay- at-home directive. He also said that as part of implementing the social distance measures, the FCTA will enforce a ban on all gatherings in public parks, gardens, bars, night clubs and football viewing centers amongst others until further notice. Bello, therefore, advised FCT residents to monitor the news channels often as updates on the FCT’s response would be broadcast and published periodically. The FCT Minister urged Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and individuals that desire to provide support for the fight against COVID 19 to liaise with the Coordinating response Team under the office of the Honourable Minister of State. Speaking on compliance of earlier directive on the ban on gatherings of more than 50 people, the Minister appreciated the leadership of Muslim and Christian organisations for their cooperation in ensuring compliance. While calling on residents to remain calm and refrain from panic buying, Malam Bello also called for discipline among FCT residents, stressing that all protocols of behavior as indicated by relevant health authorities should be thoroughly observed. He said, “Containing this virus requires and depends very heavily on personal choices of being disciplined, of being able to follow established protocols of behavior as indicated by relevant health authorities. That is why it remains very critical for every citizen to follow laid health and safety protocols so that jointly, we will be able to conquer this disease.” Meanwhile, the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, had disclosed that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases IN Nigeria now stands at 46. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsF75Z9lobQ https://www.abujapress.com/2020/03/covid-19-fct-minister-orders-closure-of.html?m=1
