FBI PUBLISHER, BABALOLA OMONIYI RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM YESBUD INSTITUTION

Hard-work they say has it's reward and today Babalola Omoniyi, a resonate Nigerian youth who doubles as the Executive Director of Pan Africa leadership and Enterpreneurship Development center and Publisher of FBI magazine has received a Honorary Doctorate in Management from the Yesbud University in Lusaka Zambia.

In a reaction to the recent honour he received from Yesbud University located in Southern part of Africa, Omoniyi Babalola attributed his success to divine grace, which he said was behind every possible thing he has ever done or acheived.

His organisation, the Pan African Leadership and Enterpreneurship Development Center - PALEDEC has remained a development impact agency, focused on leadership, capacity development, social Enterpreneurship and charity. Babalola Omoniyi has been a devoted agent of positive development across Africa and Sub Sahara especially for youths.

Before now he has been a managing partner at the World Advisors Council, an advisory Board Member in charge of international relations at the Yesbud University, Zambia. Babalola is also a Board Member at International Youth Diplomacy Conference, an initiative that has continued to promote Africa youth development across international boundaries.

His new honour could however be said to be deserving, considering his key inputs and impact in national and international administration. Babalola Omoniyi has received applauds from local organisations, international institutions, friends, colleagues and family members for the new honour he received from the academic institution.

BARR. OFUMELU WINS OYI/AYAMELU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, RECEIVES APPLAUDS FROM PARTY FAITHFULS

The People's Democratic Party Candidate for Oyi/Ayamelu Federal Constituency in Anambra state, Barrister Ofumelu Vincent Ofumelu has emerged winner, as the INEC returning officer confirmed it after announcing the results.

Barrister Ofumelu of the People's Democratic Party emerged winner in very critical competitive ambience with APC, APGA and other parties which were very visible in the state. But he stood out victorious because he was indeed the interest of his people.

Party Faithfuls, supporters, followers, social and political groups, as well as family members have made their way to the residence of their new representation in the green Chambers of the national Assembly.

According to Barrister Vincent Ofumelu, his victory was indeed precedented, because he had always been the choice of the people in Oyi/Ayamelu Federal Constituency in Anambra state.

ORLU RETURNING OFFICER RECEIVED A CALL FROM ABUJA TO DELAY ANNOUNCING OKOROCHA AS WINNER

The Election returning officer in Orlu, Imo state has been exposed to be apart of an intended manipulation in the COLLATION of election results in Orlu Senatorial zone, to discredit the success of Rochas Okoroacha and entire electoral process.

It was revealed that the election officer received a call from Abuja earlier during the exercise telling him to delay the announcement of APC candidate, Rochas Okorocha as winner of the Orlu Zone Senatorial District.

According to reports, the electoral officer in charge of Orlu Zone Senatorial district, who happens to be an inlaw to the PDP candidate, was to disappear To Owerri with election result papers so as to manipulate the results in favour of the People Democratic Party Candidate.

It was also revealed that the eventual disappearance and framed kidnap was an orchestrated plan to accuse the All Progressive Congress Candidate for masterminding the operations, so as establish a platform for arguments which may lead to the discrediting or cancellation of the elections in Orlu Senatorial zone.

An election observer showed that the plot was aimed at manipulating the elections because all indications had already proved that the PDP candidate was loosing, so they resorted to all manner of unscrupulous engagements to make the elections look incredible.

Unfortunately, the plot was unsuccessful and a post evaluation of voters participation have also explicitly shown that their interest was in the All Progressive Congress Candidate, Governor Rochas Okoroacha.

Beauty Queen Calls For The Inclusion Of Peace Education In School Curriculum,  Offers 10 Scholarships (photos)

Queen Testimony Williams Ugochi, Miss Ambassador for Peace Africa, has taken her Peace Education Campaign to schools of internally Displaced persons in Kunchingoro, an outskirt community in Abuja so as to sustain initiative against violence in some crisis prone area across Nigeria.

Her visit to the IDP school in Kunchingoro witnessed several gift presentations and donations to students and teachers, as well as some financial contributions to the management and administration of the school.

The high points of her visit was when Queen Testimony Williams, gave out scholarship to 10 pupils of the schools, with concrete promises to ensure that they further their education after the scholarship program. She however, called on UBEC, seeking that Peace Education should be enshrined in primary and secondary school curriculum, so as to improve the necessity for peace at all levels.

ARMY/SARS KILLING OF OPPOSITION AGENTS HAVE STARTED

The Nigerian Army in Rivers State have started the rampage we raised alarm on few days ago, with the killing of PDP agent for Ward 10 Akulga Thywill Datotubo.

The PDP agent was murdered by the soldiers who were acting on the instruction of APC Chieftains and the Divisional Commander GOC 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarham.

The Army In company of the following APC chieftains, Christian Pedro, Chief. Fenibo M. M. Jack, Onimim Kalabari (aka Ido) and their thugs carried out the gruesome murder of the PDP agent.

The activities of the Army in Rivers and Delta States where they are arresting voters have been transmitted to the Army Situation Rooms and the Chief of Army Staff Burutai have kept silence which suggests that the Army killer squad are acting on his Instructions.

According to our reporters, Queen Ayobami arrived at Hope of Survival Orphanage, Gisiri Abuja in a retinue of her team and was given a warm reception, as she had enough time to discuss with children in the home.

Queen Ayobami Ewaoluwa has been so devoted to charity and humanitarian works recently. In a message to children of the home, she expressed affectionate regard and interest to continually be a source of hope.

She stated that the visit to Abuja orphanage home, was in view of her commitments to help the poor, the needy and the underprivileged persons across Nigeria. She expressed joy and relief for the reception she was given.

Children of the orphanage home and it's management thanked and appreciated the kind gesture they received from Queen Ayobami Ewaoluwa. The children were filled with joy and a sense of belonging after the encounter they had with Queen Ayobami.

Actress Maureen Cyril, CEO GoodGirl Global Receives Two sets of twins on her annual charity campaign Reach Out


1. For the benefit of your fans can you tell us about yourself briefly?

My name is Maureen Cyril, I am from Anambra state, studied Bsc Nursing. I am a philanthropist and a serial entrepreneur. I own GoodGirl Global Concepts Ltd which is a fashion & entertainment company, I sell real estate under the umbrella of The Bestsellers Realtor and am also an actress.

2. What is the motivation towards your charity outreach

I’d say love, passion, pity, following the footsteps of Christ and creating a positive impact on the world around me.

3[b]. Is important you throw more light on your brand, is GoodGirl an NGO or a company that supports charity?[/b]

For now, GoodGirl Global is a brand that supports charity and extension of love acts to the less privileged. We started the ROWL(Reach Out With Love) campaign in 2016 with 10% made from the total annual sales of our product (the goodgirl goodie pack) sales as our own way of giving back to the society but to our surprise we didn’t know people were actually seeing our handworks so this year, ROWL 2019, people really got involved. We got lots of donations (money, clothes, shoes, foodstuffs, support etc) from family members, friends, anonymous, companies and my church Mosignor in Ss Philip & James also supported the movement so for now, we are just supporting charity although the GoodGirl foundation has been born with the view of becoming a full
fledged NGO in the near future. *smiles*

4. GoodGirl usually undertakes charity project once every year especially Valentines Day...What is significant about the day?

Well, picking Valentine’s Day for our annual “GoodGirl Reach Out With Love“ campaign was a direction from God and who am I not to obey? *laughs* Between which better day in a year to reach out with love than on a day filled with epic proportions of love. Although, since we are getting responses from other individuals and organizations, we are looking forward to extending the campaign to not just on Valentine’s Day but occasionally. God willing.

5. So does the brand fund itself or raise money for the charity outreach?

Since we started the ROWL campaign, it has been solely sponsored by GoodGirl Global but like I said earlier, this year is the 1st time it has attracted external funds and partners in joining us and we believe more hands will be joining, the door is always open.


6. Do you have plans to extend the charity outreach beyond Lagos or beyond Valentine day?

Of course we will, our ROWL campaign is not constricted to just Valentine’s Day or to people in Lagos alone, no. We can reach out to anyone in any part of the country/world as long as we are able to reach out to them. We are just doing the much we can for now until we get more funds.

7. Does GoodGirl Agency seek partnership with other organisations or international collaboration towards it's outreach?

We are open to partnerships, after all there is a saying that goes “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”

8. Can you tell us why you stopped featuring in Nollywood movies because your fans know you as an actress?

Who said I’ve stopped acting? No way, acting is my passion, my dream so there’s no way I’m stopping. I featured in 4 movies last year. 2 with Uche Jumbo, how to save my marriage and chef Dickson, both showing on Africa magic showcase. It’s just that my businesses take most of my time but that doesn’t mean if I get called for movie roles I wouldn’t grab the opportunity. So movie producers and directors, I’m up for hiring.

9. Over the years, Good Girl has empowered and feed a lot of kids on the street, what is your angle of Charity?

Yes we have, for the fact that our angle of charity is to help and assist more children to be able to go to school, that doesn’t stop us from reaching out to others who are not children. For instance, for ROWL 2019, we visited the makoko community and was able to reach out to over 70 women (widows & mothers) with cash, foodstuffs and clothings. I’ll say our motive is basically to give back to the society, touch lives, change lives and put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden in any way we can. It could be taking care of a child’s school fees, providing capital for a poor mum with children to start up a business, going to the hospital to take care of bills for those who can’t afford to etc., any act of love as we are led by the holyspirit.

Let’s learn to practice love towards one another cos that is the key to making our world a better place to live in. After a careful assessment and scrutiny of multitude of governorship candidates aspiring to be Imo State Governor in 2019, the major group backing the presidential ambition of former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar in Imo State, The Atiku Action Group, have rolled out drums of support for United Progressive Party, UPP governorship candidate in the State, Hon. Tony Nwulu.

The group made the endorsement during a visit to Nwulu at his Owerri country home on Wednesday, 20th February, 2019.

The latest endorsement adds up to series of similar support for Nwulu, who has suddenly become the beautiful bride in Imo politics as it relates to the upcoming governorship election in the State scheduled to hold on March 9, 2019.

The endorsement is also coming Nwulu’s way after similar political associations embedded in various political parties had indicated support for the 40 year old Federal lawmaker whose governorship ambition is sharply changing the political narrative in Imo State barely a week to the titanic governorship election.

Having also received endorsements to his aspiration from several socio political groups across the State including the Yoruba and Hausa Community in the State, Nwulu’s political flexibility earned had him a special interactive session with President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC Presidential Candidate who had during his visit to Owerri recently urged voters in Imo State to vote for candidates of their choice across party lines.

Political analysts contend that this signposts the fact that Nwulu is an acceptable candidate found worthy of support by various political associations in various political parties due to his track records and glaring capacity to run the affairs of the State plagued by irresponsible governance in the last eight years.

At the endorsement by the Atiku Action Group, Imo State chapter which vowed to support Nwulu’s governorship, the group stated that it has resolved to endorse the UPP governorship candidate based on his consistent and strong belief on the youths and the poor masses.

They recalled how Nwulu has promised to appoint 80% of Imo youths in his cabinet, stating that his administration when elected into office will introduce a fresh air in government which will lead to an end to recycling old politicians in governance.

In his remarks, the UPP governorship candidate promised that he will get Imo State working again by advertising the appointment of Commissioners to enable the best the State can assemble to aid him run the affairs of the State.

He said the appointments will be transparent as applicants irrespective of political party affiliation are free to apply and if deemed fit by an international recruitment agency that would manage the process would be so appointed in his cabinet.

He noted that the State has suffered immensely from bad governance which has led to a huge debt profile that has made the State a laughing stock. He said as a result of this ugly trend, the State has been plagued by underdevelopment leading to high poverty rate, high unemployment among the youths, unpaid pensions to pensioners and to workers.

He enumerated his road map for a better Imo State which formed the theme of his campaign slogan, Mezie Imo, which implies making Imo State better again and placing the State on the path of economic rejuvenation where the welfare and prosperity of the people will be guaranteed.

Nwulu noted that he is overwhelmeled by the endorsement by the Atiku Action Group in the State which he described as a major boost to his aspiration.

LET’S PAUSE AND REFLECT
The text of a press conference held in Uyo by the Forum of All Political Parties in Akwa Ibom State, following the postponement of the 16 February 2019 elections

Gentlemen of the Press,
As you may all be aware, the general elections that were to kick off on Saturday, 16 February 2019 have been moved forward by one week. The rescheduling came as a surprise and with a huge cost to us; we were ready as a party for the elections. INEC has said the elections were postponed to get the logistics right in order to deliver a free, fair and transparent elections. In light of the explanation by INEC, we as Political Parties have accepted the cost incurred as a necessary sacrifice for the good of our democracy.

Let us take the advantage of this pause on the road to thank God whose grace and protection have seen us thus far in the Akwa Ibom Project.
We want to also thank the good people of Akwa Ibom in general and members and supporters of our parties in particular who have remained loyal to the cause in the past months in spite of many challenges as we keep up the good fight to recover and redeem our dear state. We urge them to remain mobilized and ready until the job is done.

We want to take note of the work of members of the security services and urge them to exercise professionalism in the discharge of their duties in the state.
Permit us to place on record the support of leaders of our various Parties. Their support in the form of good counsel and contributions in material terms have helped the us to cope with many hurdles that have confronted the parties in the cause of this project. However, many challenges remain and must be addressed for us to achieve our set objectives.

INEC AND THE IMPERATIVE OF FAIR UMPIRE

We have had cause in the immediate past to call attention to the failure of the INEC leadership in the state to inspire the confidence of all parties in the political process by reason of the actions of the Commission and the utterances of its leaders.

INEC has betrayed unbridled partisanship through the selection of its ad hoc staff, some of whom are drawn from the employees of the Commission, contrary to extant practices and institutional requirements.
Through connivance with the state government, all the ad hoc staff of the Commission is made up of loyal members and supporters of the PDP.
In addition, the Commission has acted as though it were part of the Government House in Uyo. In spite of our representations to the head office of the Commission in Abuja, nothing has been done to allay our concern that the INEC office in Akwa Ibom State is not a fair umpire and cannot deliver a free, fair and transparent election because it is partisan and in bed with the ruling PDP government in the state. This anomaly must be addressed.

SECURITY THREAT

Just as we warned of the partisanship of the election umpire, we had raised the alarm that the PDP and the state government stockpiled arms and recruited thugs and terrorists to be used to rig the elections. What happened on the eve of the now rescheduled 16 February 2019 elections proved beyond reasonable doubt that the alarm we raised was not unfounded. On the eve of the first scheduled sets of elections, the Police arrested more than 500 thugs in various parts of the state. Confessions by the captured criminals showed clearly that they were brought into the state from other parts of the country by PDP politicians. The thugs were arrested with sophisticated arms and ammunitions.

At this point, we want to register our appreciation to the security forces who averted a bloodbath through their quick and precision strike to neutralize the threat posed by the infiltration of the dangerous criminals into the state by leaders of the PDP.
However, our concern over security as we approach the rescheduled election is more structural. Field reports from our men on the eve of the rescheduled elections show that there were no visible deployments of security forces in the state. This smacks of sabotage. What was worse, the state Commissioner of Police actually disarmed the tactical command of the Force and redeployed them elsewhere. That kind of inadequate attention to security at a critical period like election season is an open invitation to trouble from elements such as thugs and anti-social elements who flooded the state on the eve of the elections.

1000 VOTE DEFENDERS

We want to call attention of the security agencies and members of the public in general to the open boast by the State Governor, a boast well reported in the mainstream media, that he had made provisions for ‘1000 vote defenders’ for each polling unit during the elections. Since the state has 2980 polling units, the governor would have to use ‘2,980,000 vote defenders.’ I want to ask the security agencies and the public at large to see the connection between that boast by the governor and the flooding of the state on the eve of the rescheduled elections with thugs and terrorists imported from other states in the nation. It is common knowledge that most of the polling units in the state cannot boast more than 500 people. So where was the governor going to get his ‘1000 vote defenders’ from? The answer to that query lies in the importation of thousands of thugs and terrorists into the state by the PDP government. The Udom Emmanuel administration is thus a direct threat to the sanctity of the forthcoming elections and therefore to our democracy. Given the immunity enjoyed by the governor until he leaves office, we call for immediate arrest and prosecution of all those who work with him to endanger the state with industrial scale importation of nearly three million thugs and terrorists deceitfully spoken of as ‘vote defenders.’

PROSECUTION

We demand a thorough investigation of those thugs with the purpose of determining who brought them into the state. We also demand that the criminals and their sponsors should be promptly prosecuted in accordance with the extant laws of the land.

NEED TO BEEF UP SECURITY

Given the unprecedented security threat in the immediate build-up to and during the first scheduled elections, the need to enhance security to avert a bloodbath in the state and guarantee free and fair elections cannot be overstated. We are therefore calling on the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the DSS to take a peculiar look at Akwa Ibom State, and accordingly beef up security in the state with more police personnel, more DSS operatives and more armed forces personnel. The level of threat in Akwa Ibom State, given the number of thugs arrested on the eve of the first scheduled elections, shows that we cannot make too much provision for security in the state.

EFCC AND CASH SEIZURE

We received report that during the week leading to the first scheduled elections, the EFCC intercepted a cash haul of N1.3 billion moved from the state government accounts at Heritage Bank, intended to be used to bribe INEC officials and for vote buying in some parts of the state. We call on the EFCC to clear the air on this report.

VOTE BUYING BY STATE GOVERNMENT

As reported under the EFCC cash seizure above, the State Government is using state funds to indulge heavily in the criminal practice of vote buying at N10,000 per voter in all the 2,980 polling units in the state.
In addition to the general vote buying, the State Government is busy mopping up PVCs in opposition strongholds through mindless financial inducement of voters to part with their voter’s cards at the rate of N50,000 per card.

We are hereby calling on all Akwa Ibom people not to sell their PVCs. The PVCs represent your power to change a government that has not helped you in any way and replace it with a government that will support your business, invest in your child’s education with bursary award and develop your communities.
We also want to call on the security forces to go after the criminals who are disenfranchising innocent voters by taking away their PVCs through a trick of a financial inducement.

Gentlemen of the Press, before we end this conference let me thank you too for your professionalism in reporting the events and issues that shape this election process. Your job is not yet done. We therefore look up to you for continuing show of professionalism in your work as members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm.

The excursion day outing on hotel operations for students of British Oasis Academy was indeed fun-filled, as the guest Students were made to go around the heavenly atmosphere to witness the adorable facilities and services offered at the hotel.

The students were given sourvenirs and hosted to a classy and mouthwatering launch, which they had together. They expressed joy as they interacted with some members of staff in hotel.

However, their teachers and some members of the administrative staff have appreciated the Wells Carlton Hotels and Luxury Apartments' management, for such a kind gesture to encourage learning and improve the value of education across Nigeria.

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Emeka Ihedioha’s campaign train yesterday met face to face with the that of the United Progressive Party, UPP, governorship candidate, Hon Tony Chinedu Nwulu at Mbaise land.

According to an eyewitness, the two brothers who were former and current members of the nation’s legislative chamber embraced each other as their gubernatorial campaign convoy crossed.
Like a flash, Ihedioha and Nwulu greeted each other standing onto of their campaign buses and continued their chase for available votes across the Mbaise nation to the admiration of their supporters and onlookers.

The UPP governorship candidate has been on the campaign trail in recent times visiting some local governments and has engaged in mutual discussions with key and strategic groups and associations across the State.

Among all the frontline contenders for the gubernatorial elections in Imo State, Hon Tony Chinedu Nwulu is a tick-all-boxes.

The political dynamics and permutations in Imo state favour him as the man with the Midas touch that will unite all divisive interests and satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of all Imolites in the next political dispensation. Earlier on Valentine day at the Trade and Investment Center, Owerri, the incoming governor of Imo State and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, joined his delectable wife, Lolo Uloma Nwosu as they hosted hundreds of widows, orphans, People Living with Disabilities and less privileged children drawn from various parts of the State.

Emphasizing that the truest essence of love is to show affection to those people whom you expect nothing in return from, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu says that this love feast for this class of citizens throws a light on the kind of government he will head when he becomes governor of the State, appreciating his wife whom he described as; "a true lover, partner and kindest of mother's", he thanked her for putting the event together.

"I thank my adorable wife for putting this together. It is not surprising because she genuinely understands what true love is all about and has lived all her life following Christ's teachings on true love and faith." He further explained that the event is in no way political, but a demonstration of his family's passion for sharing with the forgotten of the society.

The special guest of the occasion, Her Excellency Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, praised the couple for thinking it wise to organize an event like this for this class of people. She said that she is more convinced that her ideology of investing in the lives of the less privileged and putting smiles on the faces of the greatest number of people possible through the office of the First Lady will not be lost after May 29th, but would rather become even more advanced. In her words;

"I am overwhelmed with joy for this event. As a First Lady of this State for close to eight years now, I touched lives and did a lot for the less privileged, but I never remembered to share the Valentine's Day with this special class of our citizens. I thank Uloma and her husband for showing in tangible terms that they will never slow down on the humanitarian interventions of this administration, but will rather take it a step further."

The event featured exchange of gifts between the incoming governor and some of his aides with the orphans, widows and the less privileged.

The new Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed has received a delegation from Messengers of Peace Foundation, led by Dr. Suleiman Adejo, the National President in a warm and confident manner.

One of the major interesting thing about the 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo State is the entrance of personalities with empirical professional pedigrees. Almost all the major political parties and the newly registered parties have got successful technocrats as aspirants before the party primary elections.

Today, having been manipulated out of the gubernatorial contest by those who call the shots in PDP, but do not have the support of the people, Ezeji Benneth has gone back to the people, who have the mandate of legitimacy. Presently, this young man, whose placid manner is a characteristic which compels the admiration of all, is controlling large followers of potential voters in all the 27 local government areas, and the 305 political wards in the state. From all verifiable indications, these support groups under the control of this humble young philanthropist have the electoral value, capacity and strength to attract more than 50% of the total votes resulting from the 305 political wards and about 3,232 pulling units in the Eastern Heartland.

What is more? It is apparently obvious to those undesirable political gladiators, who manipulated themselves into becoming the candidates of their political parties for their insensitive connections to the Federal powers, that the people are waiting to Shame them at the polls.
For this particular reason and many more, many candidates are now do everything possible to appeal to the humility of this young technocrat, Ezeji Benneth.
The direction of this uncommon electoral ascinal from the political organisations and massive support groups as controlled by Ezeji Benneth will certainly go a long way in deciding the overall electoral victories in Imo State for the 2019 general elections.
