It's seems entire Nigeria is catching cruise along with Hilda .

It's unfortunate the last record holder from India did not even get 5 percent of attention hilda is getting from Nigerians.
I asked my Indian collegues ,they are suprised this competition exists in records and that the previous record holder is Indian.
Na so Nigerians dey spend energy on irrelevant things or things that don't have real implications for their lives

For example, they were mute about last week when the national assembly approved CBN unappropriated loans to the FG . Loans that will take generations to repay.

Politics › Re: 25% In FCT: The Law Does Not Say “Including,” But ... Prof. Adewale Tells Tinubu by Globad(f): 7:10pm On May 14, 2023
lhordspy:
With due respect. Prof is a dull man.

Prof. Let me ask you. What is the essence of the election when all it takes to fail is 'not make' 25% in FCT?

It means even though you win the entire 36 states with 98%, and garner over 34billion votes across the states. Not getting 25% in FCT means another election of 300bn will be re-conducted.

All it takes is political actors without any road to victory or path to majority votes, making sure they block any body from getting 25% in FCT; by crook or hook. Because they know even 25billion votes cant save anyone.

All it takes is political parties focusing on FCT only and giving middle fingers to the other states. They can even try importing people from 36 states into FCT just to vote and scuttle the opposition impending victory

People like Sowore and others who know they cant win will just campaign only in FCT, bribe the residents and make sure the votes are split. Then we will keep repeating election till thy-kingdom-come without president.

As a Prof,e make sense? Is this logical?
Don't mind the dull man

How many times has the courts ordered the Federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu? Did they obey the order?

Before international pressure got Elzakzaky and Dasuki released, do you know how many times court ordered their release? Were those orders obeyed?
It's wrong for anyone not to obey a court order. That's my point

I'm not interested in this. Read my posts well

Court orders are meant to be obeyed by everyone, whether individuals or government

I can decide not to obey court order. The only thing that would happen is that I will suffer the consequences later.

About court order suspending Abure, did that court order declare Apapa as chairman?
I'm not interested in Abure or whoever

I'm interested in the law and its sanctity

Again, you can't and shouldn't decide not to obey a court order. You have only two options: obey the order or challenge it.

It's the law that makes the difference between an orderly society and a jungle.

Again, disobedience of a court order in itself is a crime. Know this
Politics › Re: Abure Or Apapa: Who Is The Authentic Labour Party Chairman? by Globad(f): 11:26am On May 13, 2023
Penguin2:
What started out as a minor distraction in the Labour Party leadership is snowballing into something unintended all thanks to the press.

But what is really the true state of affairs? Who is the authentic chairman of Labour Party right now?

To help our understanding of the situation, let’s take this analogy.

There are processes to everything in life.

Osinbajo is the Vice President, and the next in line to the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; in fact, it’s his unopposed right.

But if by this evening Buhari can no longer be found, can Osinbajo just wake up and declare himself President because he’s next to Buhari? The answer is a big no.

Osinbajo must wait for some legal encumbrances, like the president not transmitting power to him while he was traveling, to be cleared first. In this case, the senate might have to invoke the Doctrine of Necessity like they did under Jonathan.

After that is done with, then Osinbajo must wait for the Chief Justice of the Federation to swear him in as President before he can now start laying claim to anything.

It is the same thing with this Labour Party leadership tussle.

After court asked Abure to step aside, the next thing to do would have been to call a NEC meeting of the party where the party will decide to either obey or disobey the ruling depending on their interpretation of the legal implication of the ruling.

Now, if they decide to obey the ruling, it is still NEC of Labour that would choose or rectify new leadership for the party pending the determination of the case in court. This never happened.

Apapa and co just barged into the Labour National Secretariat and declared themselves the new leaders of the party without recourse to NEC or any constitutional process.

Compare it to Osinbajo holding a press conference to declare himself president without being sworn in, because Buhari can no longer be found. You know the consequences. It’s treason.

It was the season of MKO Abiola who declared himself President after the 1993 election was annulled. We all know how he ended.

So, in life there are processes that must be followed before one can legitimately lay claim to anything.

As of today, Apapa is a meddlesome interloper, an irritant in the Labour Party that would soon be consigned into oblivion never to be reckoned with forever until his end on earth; he and his co travelers.
You can't decide to not obey a court order.

You're wrong there

The comparison with the VP is also wrong because no court order is involved. The comparison to MKO is also irrelevant

He actually won Plateau by 1 trillion votes.

They need to present all this evidence in court too so that the Appeal/Supreme court can just declare Peter Obi the winner asap coz if they subtract 1 trillion votes from the current Tinubu votes, Obi would be the winner.

Mpukumririi overdose is really bad. Buhari should do something about it asap.
He won't Plateau by 3 trillion votes and that's why the servers petered out because the figure was too long for the servers to process

PoliticalUpdate:
Not many have really sat down to deliberate over the inconsistency of Tinubu's age. A few years ago, Wikipedia banned Tinubu's profile on its platform for several submissions and altercations on the age of Tinubu. What kind of man won't know his age - a public figure at that, and we are expected to trust such a personality? His deputy from 1999 to 2003 is Kofoworola Bucknor is 84 years today and baba is claiming football age. In Political leadership it is rare to find a leader having an assistant that he/she isn't quite older than or around same age grade. I don't know what philosophy would make someone like madam Kofo and Tinubu political accomplices - if they had not by privilege associated in the past.
Ask those old enough in 1999, they will tell you that Bucknor was older than Tinubu and it was a fact well known then

Alake as the Lagos Commissioner of Information even referred to her then as a "sinking, crying, old grandma"

Also, check very well and you would see that many Nigerian governors have had deputies senior to them in age. It's not new.

I am still curious as to why Bishop John Onaiyekan did not request that the Chief Judge of Osun State postpone the swearing-in of Governor Adeleke, given that his election victory is being contested at the tribunal and now at the Supreme Court.

The problem of selective amnesia is one of the major issues facing Nigeria. It is disheartening to see senior citizens in the country taking sides with certain political parties during critical moments of national interest.

This is wrong and must be widely condemned.
Hopefully oyetora will reclaim his mandate tomorrow
It's not selective amnesia that's worrying them, it's naked bias and uncontrolled emotional outbursts

I don't know why all governments since 1999 have not been able to reform the police angry

What's the problem?

The immediate and remote causes of this kind of problem should be determined and resolved.

The incoming government should take note that the policing system must be reformed. It's as important as power reforms.

If you remove insecurity and power problem from Nigeria, there will be massive creation of employment and many young people will stop Japa. Many will even return to the country.

Is having a state police the solution? Is it about the conditions of service? Or recruitment process?

Again, the incoming government must be determined to solve the problem
