PoliticsRe: Bayelsa Community That Has Never Had a Health Centre by glory2glory: 6:01pm On Oct 22, 2013
Is n't this a big shame! Nobody holds successive governments to account in Bayelsa. No health center in an entire community and no one is asking Dickson what he's doing with allocations. Meanwhile Amaechi who has built model health centers in every community in Rivers state is being castigated daily because of political differences with Gej.

Policewoman: Call the attention of the airport authorities to repair it instead of trying to be mischevious. Yeye opposition party people.
Men! Nigeria is in trouble, God help us. Every criticism is opposition party. Is it the opposition that placed those containers there? Is the airport authority not aware of the leakages? Are they not the ones that placed those containers to collect the water drops. Is that not a shameful sight for an international airport? Or are we supposed to look away as Nigerians without criticising? Maybe the airport is only for PDP and APC. Shame no dey this countrycountry again. Na wa!

Billyonaire: People will always find fault, if their desire is to find fault. And such people never recognize anything except the bad side of life. Isnt it ironic that the same people who have seen me coming here, cos successful people always find the best of every situation, but unsuccessful people always find fault, and search for
APC mosquitoes alias Pull-Them-Down Cult. Shame on you. Little wonder no successful person can proudly say, he or she is a lover of APC.
So anyone that criticises any ill or misnomer in Nigeria is an APC member.
Gosh! I hope Nigeria is not beyond redemption, because with the attitude of people like these who can sell their consciences for crumbs of bread, I think Nigeria is doomed.

By the way the Amaechi administration has got 3 trillion naira so far ? No wonder the governor bought a Phantom & a private jet, life is good o
All these Amaechi has received 3trillion. How much has Bayelsa govt received? Why are you not asking about the use of Bayelsa income. Do you know how many people have been employed by the R/S govt under Amaechi so far? Do you know the investments the govt has made? How many R/S people on RSSDa scholarship and those that have benefitted from R/S microfinance agency.
I am not saying Amaechi is a saint, but there are so much on ground to show that he has not wasted 3trillion.

@Atuoke,
Am really impressed by your post. I know you have always been an Amaechi critic but your post shows you are a truthful and honest person, not like others who criticise blindly. There is no govt that is not criticised no matter how good . Amaechi has his own faults and should be criticised when necessary, but not in areas where he has done well because of political differences.

How can these self-serving politicians convince us they have our interest at heart and mean well for us when they fight the visible progress in the state so blatantly?
Amaechi has done his bit, the man may not be perfect but he is surely one of the best R/S has had. None of those politicians listed there would do half of what Amaechi has done if given the opportunity. All they want is money and power, we know better. Please leave R/S alone.

Wike definitely has lost every sense of reasoning and shame. The way he attacks the government of Rivers state baffles me. Mr Wike, power belongs to God, no matter how dirty you fight, no matter the support you think you have from GEJ, if God Has not ordained to for you to be governor, you will never be. 2015 is still far.

PoliticsRe: With Looming S. Court Defeat, Anti Ameachi's Plot Aboard Presidential Jet. by glory2glory: 11:18am On Oct 07, 2013
Symphony007: The political complexion of passengers
aboard the presidential jet, 5N-FGS, which
landed at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in
Lagos Sunday evening is stoking fresh
concerns that the River State mission team,
plotting the ouster of Governor Rotimi
Amaechi, has moved into new drive.
At about 5:30 P.M. in the wet Sunday
ambience of Lagos, the Presidential jet from
Abuja taxied to a stop revealing a velvet rank
of well-known anti-Amaechi political
juggernauts, comprising of former Governor
of River State, Celestine Omehia; Minister of
State for Education, Nyesom Wike; PDP
Chairman Rivers State, Felix Obuah: and
Abiye Sekibo, impeccable aviation sources
told PREMIUM TIMES.
Details of what appeared to be a Lagos visit
for a meeting were unavailable but by 7:45
P.M, Sunday night, according to the sources,
the meeting was held and the flight, with its
passengers, was airborne again, heading
towards Abuja.
The leader of the team, Mr. Nyesom, could
not be reached to comment for this story. He
did not answer or return calls made to his
telephone Monday morning.
Special Adviser to the President, Reuben
Abati, wouldn’t also comment for this story.
He told our reporter Monday morning he
was rushing to catch a flight but would
investigate the allegation and revert as soon
as he was able.
But another adviser to the president, who
asked not to be named because he was not
authorised to speak on the matter, said the
anti-Amaechi team could have hired the
presidential jet.
“I’m aware there is a unit that does
commercial operations so people can
actually pay and use the presidential jet,” he
said. “So, if indeed they used a presidential
jet, it does not necessarily mean that the
president knows about it.”
The meeting is coming two days after the
Thursday, October 4, decision by the
Supreme Court to hear the appeal, filed by
the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi,
seeking to nullify a ruling of a Court of
Appeal which gave Celestine Omehia, as the
All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)
governorship candidate for the state, the
right to challenge a judgment of the Federal
High Court that held that Amaechi’s tenure
ended on May 29, 2011.
The opposition to Mr. Amaechi, unable to
oust him so far on many fronts, appears to
see providence in the legal understanding of
the question of the governor’s tenure.
Three years ago, a member of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), Cyprian Chukwu,
asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to
interpret the Supreme Court judgment that
in 2007 removed Mr. Omehia from office
and declared Mr. Amaechi as the governor.
Since Mr. Amaechi took the oath of office in
October 2007 and not May 29, as other
governors in the country, Mr. Chukwu
wanted the court to determine whether,
specifically, governorship election should be
held in Rivers at the April general election
date.
After Justice Abdul Kafarati ruled that the
governorship elections in Rivers State would
hold during the general election of April, Mr.
Omehia, unhappy about it, and not even a
party to the high court suit, applied to the
Court of Appeal to join him to enable him
appeal against the judgment.
“I am dissatisfied with the judgment of the
lower court and wish to appeal against
same as a person interested in the matter,
and in the office of governor of Rivers State
which forms the basis of my interest as well
as a person interested in the interpretation
of a judgment in which I was a principal
party,” Mr. Omehia said in his affidavit.
The Court of Appeal granted Mr. Omehia the
right to appeal the high court judgment, and
a dissatisfied Mr. Amaechi filed an appeal at
the Supreme Court claiming that in granting
Mr. Omehia’s prayers, the court of appeal
erred in law.
PREMIUM TIMES legal analyst, Jiti Ogunye,
said late Sunday in Lagos that the anti-
Amaechi group was investing in a false
hope adding, “in so far as they are looking
to benefit from the strategy of tenure, the
Supreme Court has resolved the matter in
the case of Obi Vs. INEC where it was
decided that it is when an elected person is
sworn in that his tenure commences.”
Mr. Ogunye said if the mission team that
visited Lagos with the Presidential Jet
thought they could expect something
tangible, “on grounds of the politics of
tenure, I am sorry for them because it is a
failed strategy.”
He said they were confusing two inter-
related but nevertheless distinct cases. Obi
Vs. INEC on the one hand, and Amaechi Vs.
PDP on the other hand.
In the case of Obi Vs. INEC, Governor Obi
challenged INEC’s decision to peg his tenure
to 10 months on the ground that then
Governor Ngige who had spent 3 years and
2 months, before the electoral court ousted
Ngige and installed him, Obi. The Supreme
Court decision on this has become the
classic authority on the contention on
tenure.
However in the case of Amaechi Vs. PDP, Mr.
Amaechi who had won the party primary
was arbitrarily substituted for Mr. Omehia
who then went ahead to win the election.
But Mr. Amaechi challenged his substitution,
and the Supreme Court decided by
mandatory injunction to oust Mr. Omehia,
who had been governor for about four
months, and install Mr. Amaechi. The
question then was whether Mr. Amaechi
who was sworn in in October rather than
May was completing Mr. Omehia’s tenure.
Mr. Ogunye said “while the cases appeared
to be similar, they really are not.” The case
before the court in Amaechi vs PDP was on
the status of a flag bearer for the party, he
said.
“The effort to rid Amaechi on this legal
ground is unlikely to succeed because the
Supreme Court would have had to reverse
itself and that typically requires an
exceptional circumstance,” Mr. Ogunye said.
"Surely they will gather together but they shall surely scatter because God is not with them"

Really, Wike must be a fool to adopt this line to remove Amaechi. Okay, the court rules that Amaechi's 1st tenure was shortened, so will they cancel an elections held over 2years ago for new elections? Encouraging waste of time and resources. Alright even if our Supreme court judges allow themselves t be used, is Wike going to contest this election if he was not part of the first? Will Omehia, if he wins agree to serve one term so Wike will take over from him ? Or is Wike ready to shelve his 2015 ambition for Omehia, just because he wants Amaechi out before 2015. These people are just funny, both they and the president that is giving them support.

PoliticsRe: Rivers State VS Rwanda: Why Amaechi Should Is An Underachiever by glory2glory: 9:08am On Sep 28, 2013
@jpphilips.
There is really no need to argue with you because you are just blinded by your hatred for Amaechi. You can accuse Amaechi for all you want. But
I have only pointed out to you that ECG And defibrillators are not needed in phc. If there is an emergency situation that require such, the ambulance service comes into play, before the patient gets to a proper centre.
The fact that most of the communities have only health centres does not warrant the purchase of equipment that will be rarely used or not used at all. The Phc manned by a medical officer attends to minor common ailments and offer ANC services. Heart disease or cardiac arrest is not a minor or common ailments. Even the maternity refers any pregnancy with complications to a tertiary centres.
You need the imput of a cardiologist in the use of ECG , you don't expect specialists that are few to start manning health centres .
PoliticsRe: Rivers State VS Rwanda: Why Amaechi Should Is An Underachiever by glory2glory: 2:36am On Sep 28, 2013

guy, carry your rabies comot for here.
I will ignore your insults.
But know that emergency medical services is different from primary healthcare service. You don't rush accident victims or life-threatening emergency cases to a health centre but the emergency units of hospitals. And no, the health centres do not handle all cases. They refer cases that require specialist care to the secondary and tertiary centres.
Like I said earlier, if you have pictures of health centres outside Rivers that are much better, why not post them.

It is not silly when that same teacher travelled to Ph to apply for job, do aptitude test and interview and also submit medical report. So if you get a job in Abuja and you live in Lokoja, you won't travel to get your appointment or deployments letter. You would wait for them to post it to you?
