Ali Modu Sheriff faction has refused to support the PDP on the rejection of results of the Edo election

The PDP also refused to sign the final results because, it claims, the results were rehearsed

Meanwhile, the agent of the PDP at the collation centre refused to sign the final results after admitting that he received a call from his superiors telling him not to sign.

A statement by the party on Thursday, September 29 read in part: “We completely reject the charade, farce and outright travesty that has taken place in the name of the Edo State Gubernatorial Election. In the history of our Country, there have not been many instances of such an outright subversion of the will of the people.”

In the same vein, supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have staged a protest against the outcome of the Edo state gubernatorial election.

The protest was carried out in front of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on September 29.

The supporters carrying placards claimed that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP was the winner of the election as against reports that Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress was in pole position to win the election.

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on patrol yesterday, Wednesday, September 28th, came across some elements of Boko Haram terrorists at Bulabulin.They engaged them in a fire fight that lasted for an hour. The troops killed 9 Boko Haram terrorists and wounded several others.
They also captured 2 AK-47 Rifles, 2 Hand Grenades, 1 Improvised Explosive Device, 5 Jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit and 9 motorcycles. However, the troops hand held radio was badly damaged during the encounter.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had also declared a three-days fasting and prayers for the country for God to help resolve the hardship being faced by the citizens.

Nneka Ogwumike also known as Nnemkadi Ogwumike Who plays for Los Angeles Sparks as a forwarder has been awarded the Women's NBA Most Valuable player of the year award for her fine displays in the USA women's basketball league this season.

Rhythm Fm's DJ Midas has died. DJ Midas, whose real name is Michael Adedoyin, died after a brief illness yesterday Tuesday September 27th.

Shortly before his death, DJ Midas worked with Silverbird's Rhythm FM. He joined the radio station in1998 as a pioneer and regular DJ host.

The Buhari government has proposed to sell some of assets to revive the economy. However, many Nigerians are opposed to the plan, disagreeing that previous sales hardly helped the nation’s economy.

Senate has also rejected the proposed sale of national asset by the federal government.


The Niger Delta Justice Defence Group in a statement signed by its general commander and made available to NAIJ.com has vowed to destroy any asset that is sold by the Nigerian authorities.

They said:

“We are warning the Muhamadu Buhari’s incompetent government not to sell any government asset in the Niger Delta region; rather he should seek alternative means to deliver on his falsified campaign promises!

“ELSE we shall destroy any asset that is sold. As the backbone of the economy, we should be allowed to control all government assets in our region and not to sell it to his Almajiri brothers who will worsen the current environmental degradation status of our region.”

The militants asked to be allowed to control the oil output in the Niger Delta region and to immortalize activists who died during the struggle for better life for the oil-rich region among others.

Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa state, has spoken out on the Buhari government and wants the president to leave office and learn. Sule Lamido, who has volunteered to teach Buhari how to govern the country saying the president does not have the capacity to lead Nigeria out of the woods.

Lamido is still facing trial with his two children for an alleged N1.3 billion fraud but there are beliefs in some quarters that he is merely being persecuted because he has his eyes on the presidency.

In an interview he granted Daily Trust, Lamido said:

“President Buhari is simply incompetent on the provision of the welfare of the citizens because he was never ready for the job, and so, he lacks the capacity to source for the wherewithal to do it well to the satisfaction of Nigerians.

“If he (Buhari) cannot ensure the provision of basic needs of Nigerians, tell him to hand over to me and see how I will source for the wherewithal to do it.

“Imagine a husband who, before marrying his wife, promised her that he would provide all her legal and legitimate needs according to the obligations of matrimony, only to confront the wife shortly after the wedding and tell her that he didn’t know that he would have to provide her ‘this’, and he has now realized that he cannot, and she should please bear with him; and the wife, because of the love she has for him, overlooks that limitation.

“The following day, he confronts her again, explaining his inability to provide another basic need, pleading with her to overlook it, and she does so; again he comes to her another day to say he didn’t know that he also has to provide so and so to her, and now he has realised he cannot; it should dawn on the wife that he simply cannot discharge the obligations of matrimony to her, and it is legal and legitimate for her to seek divorce.”

Former Governor Ibori is expected back in the country before ChristmasIbori served as two-term governor of the state but was found guilty of alleged corruption in the UK even though he was discharged and acquitted of all charges against him in Nigeria.

He had been serving a jail term in the foreign country, but political watchers say he remains politically powerful back in his home state.

The announcement of his possible return was made by Chief Ighoyota Amori on Sunday, September 25, while speaking in Oghara during the 50th birthday celebration of the former commissioner for Transport in the state, Mr Ben Igbakpa, according to a report by Vanguard.

While urging the people to pray for Ibori, Amori was quoted as saying: “Our leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori will soon return to Oghara.

“Chief James Onanefe Ibori will spend this year Christmas with us here.”

He told the crowd that Ibori’s return is as certain as death, adding: “We will all gather to give him a wonderful reception here in Oghara.

“And our lives will begin again once he returns back to the country.”

Igbakpa, a former member of the House of Assembly of the state, thanked God for sparing his life for the celebration.

He also thanked Chief James Onanefe Ibori and former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for carrying him along and giving him the opportunity to serve in the government of the state.

On September 4, 2016, a Twitter user had posted that Ibori had returned to the country and that he was seen on an Arik air flight. This was however denied.

News had filtered in that the judge handling the case against the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Hon. Justice John Tsoho has has stepped down from presiding over the trial.

Upon resumption of the trial, counsel to Kanu, Chuks Muoma informed the court about a petition to the National Judicial Council against his rulings. He also advised the judge that it will serve all parties right if he (the judge) transfers the matter to the chief judge of the Federal High Court.

Responding to Muoma’s advice, Justice John Tsoho said: “As a member of the inner bar, I believe you have the responsibility to educate the younger counsels.” “You have an application and on what would I have ruled to transfer the matter,” the judge said. He added that he has no ulterior motive or interest in the matter and so cannot be said to be interfering with judicial oath as alleged in the petition.

“You and your client should know that I have no interest whatsoever in the matter,” Tsoho said to Muoma.

In his final ruling, the judge who prevented the prosecuting counsel from speaking, said: “This case is hereby transferred to the CJ.”


The defence team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu arrived the Abuja Federal High Court about 9:15am this morning. Earlier officials of the Nigerian secret police (DSS), barred a teeming crowd of IPOB men and women from accessing the gate to the court.

The Nigeria Judicial process has been badly tainted by the dictatorial government of Muhammadu Buhari. Judge Tosho continue to sway towards injustice and judicial corruption as he makes way for biased judgments. It's now obvious that Nigeria government has no evidence and case against the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed the death of two pilgrims from the state in Saudi Arabia during the 2016 Hajj.


The Public Relations Officer of the board, Alhaji Ibrahim Hashim, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Dutse.

Hashim said the male and female pilgrims died after brief illness.

He said the male faithful hailed from Birniwa Local Government Area, while the female was from Dutse Local Government Area.

Photos: NEMA Assessment Team Visit The Site Of Multiple Earth Tremors In Kaduna

Upon receiving several distressed calls of multiple series of earth tremor in Kwoi community, NEMA North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah immediately led an assessment team comprising of the agency's staff and that of Nigeria Geological Survey Agency to the scenes of the incident.


Having been taken round the affected areas by the Chairman of the local government, Mr.Ben Kure and authorities of the community, the assessment team discovered that loud sound waves was reported. He stated:


"We observed that there was no physical crack on the rock surface, the road or any earth surface but a number of buildings particularly mud houses were shattered by cracks as a result of the tremor".

Residents in Kwoi lamented that the strange phenomenon which occurred at about 10:20 am when people are still on church service shook the earth severely six times and this created panic in the community.
