This suspected kidnapper was apprehended at Olowo Street, Odi-Olowo in Lagos state today. When he was apprehended, he told a mob who was set to lynch him that he takes to kidnapping because of the harsh economic condition. He has since been handed over to the police for further interrogation.

Nollywood movie producer and director, Charles Novia, has claimed his prediction about the bread-seller-turned-model, Olajumoke Orisaguna, being used and dumped by people who were supposedly helping to ease her into fame has come to pass.
The social critic and movie maker in a post on his Facebook page said the reality was Olajumoke was “used” by some persons for their own selfish interests.

He wrote: “We don’t hear any more about the bread-seller-turned-model, Olajumoke Orisaguna. I wrote at the beginning of the media frenzy over her that she was just the flavor of the moment for a public looking for sweet distraction from realities in the polity and that she would be discarded by that same public and media once the curiosities wane. It’s happening now.”

The naira crashes again to 402 against the dollar at the parallel market on Wednesday, a day after the Central Bank of Nigeria banned nine banks from the foreign exchange market for failing to remit $2.334bn to the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The local currency had closed at 397/dollar on Tuesday. At the interbank market, the naira closed at 315.93/dollar, lower than 305.5 it recorded on Tuesday.

The First International Cargo aircraft landed at the Akanu Ibian Airport in Enugu state yesterday. The state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was at the airport alongside members of his cabinet and other dignitaries to receive the cargo flight which was an Ethiopian Boeing 757 cargo aircraft.


According to Governor Ugwuanyi, the landing of cargo airplanes at the airport will help in the transportation of goods from all parts of the world to the South East region and also provide job opportunities for the people.
“Today we have gathered again to celebrate the first landing of cargo at this same airport, and which once more has happened courtesy of the Ethiopian Airlines. It will save costs, enhance convenience and safety in importation of goods apart from promoting employment and raising the international profile of the airport and the entire region”he said

Former Methodist Church Prelate Dr. Sunday Ola Mankind said on Monday that the APC government is not fit to Rule Nigeria.

Makinde told newsmen during the inaugural meeting of retired Christian leaders of major denominations in Nigeria facilitated by El-Rehoboth Global Leadership Foundation, in Abuja.

“The APC is part of the corruption in the country. They are not fit to be there, they must handle the issue of padding very carefully. We are sitting on a keg of gun powder. The day it will explode, it will consume us. So many graduates are not employed. Unemployed people are the people behind the militancy in the Niger Delta region.

“I want to warn Christians in the National Assembly. They should be careful, they should not take the issue of Sharia law and the grazing bill in the National Assembly lightly. Nobody can acquire my land. Northerners cannot acquire my land to graze their cattle. Let them go and graze in their own part of the country,” he stated.

He also advised the Federal Government and the ruling APC to be fair in their fight against corruption.
