Now with the stories we hear all around about people who have died coming back to life as a Christian do we suppose to believe in reincarnation or 'akudaya' (wraith)of a thing? |

Science/Technology / Re: Nasa Unveils Its Plan To Send Humans To Mars Permanently by Gluthatione: 2:47pm On Oct 12, 2015 |
The final step is that "Earth Independent" one. Although there’s no
strict time scale, NASA plans to use its previous experience to take
humans first into Martian orbit in the 2030s, possibly its moons
Phobos and Deimos, before ultimately landing on the surface. "With
humans on Mars, we will be able to advance science and technology
in ways only dreamed of with current robotic explorers," says the
report.
The report also emphasizes the importance of the Mars missions
being a "collaborative effort" with other countries. ESA is already
involved with the Orion spacecraft, and other countries – perhaps
including Russia, Japan, India, and maybe even China – are expected
to join in the final endeavor.
Whether the lofty goals will be achieved depends on continuous
funding flowing to the agency. And at the moment, it’s not looking too
bad. NASA currently has about $4 billion (£2.6 billion) per year to
developed its manned exploration efforts, and when the ISS is retired
some time in the next 10 years (it has to be, as the outpost is getting
fairly old), that will free up another $4 billion for exploration. Of
course, more money wouldn’t go amiss, but it should be enough.
With the building of the SLS and Orion, and significant research into
long-term human spaceflight, habitats, spacesuits, and so on, NASA
is pushing purposefully forward with their Mars efforts. Some may be
skeptical that it will all come to fruition, but the agency is slowly but
surely making headway.
Our bet? See you on Mars in the 2040s. |
Science/Technology / Nasa Unveils Its Plan To Send Humans To Mars Permanently by Gluthatione: 2:45pm On Oct 12, 2015 |
NASA has laid out a detailed plan for how it intends to send humans
to Mars in the next few decades. The 36-page report explains the
technology and infrastructure that will be needed to make missions
to Mars a reality.
Interestingly, the plans indicate that the ultimate goal is to be "Earth
independent," meaning they want people to stay there, not just go
and come back, although they don’t go so far as to use the word
"colonize" in their rhetoric. "Like the Apollo Program, we embark on
this journey for all humanity," NASA says in the report, which you can
read online . "Unlike Apollo, we will be going to stay."
The journey to Mars involves three major steps, according to NASA.
The first is Earth Reliant exploration, which is focused on
International Space Station (ISS) research. This involves testing
technologies such as 3D-printers and life support systems that will
be useful for eventual Mars missions. On the ISS at the moment, for
example, astronaut Scott Kelly and cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko are
completing the first "year in space" on the station, a vital step
towards long-haul Mars missions.
Next, the agency will move into a "Proving Ground." This will involve
testing various components beyond low-Earth orbit. The agency is
already building the huge Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which
will be capable of taking humans to Mars, and the Orion spacecraft,
which the astronauts will launch in and return to Earth in. Both of
these will be flown for the first time together by the end of the
decade, and in the 2020s, NASA plans to capture an asteroid and
have astronauts go and visit it in cislunar space (between Earth and
the Moon).............. |
Science/Technology / 10 Unsolved Mysteries In Physics by Gluthatione: 7:37pm On Oct 10, 2015 |
It can seem like an uphill challenge to try to understand the universe
around us. We have found many answers to the mysteries in our
world: how planets orbit the Sun, why an apple falls from a branch to
the ground, and why the sky appears blue. The quest to uncover all
of the secrets of the universe is guaranteed to be filled with difficult
challenges, unimaginable problems and a mountain of ingenuity
needed to overcome them.
Many physicists have already wrestled with the riddles of existence,
but there are many more conundrums to solve. Get ready for the ten
greatest unsolved mysteries of physics... the enigmas that have
evaded the most eminent minds the world has ever known.
1 Dark energy We can't see it and we can't feel it, but we can test for it, and nobody knows what it is. In spite of this, scientists think that dark energy makes up around 70% of the universe. It was imagined to explain why galaxies don't just drift apart but instead accelerate away from each other. You can think of it as a repulsive gravity that pushes matter apart. How it works, however, is still a mystery. 2 Dark matter The other "dark" substance in our universe. Dark matter , like dark energy, cannot be seen or felt. This elusive substance has some differences to dark energy though; the only way that we have observed it is indirectly. We know that there must be more matter in the universe than we can see because we can measure its gravitational effects, but no one knows exactly what makes up this mysterious stuff. 3 It's a wave... it's a particle! Rays of light have a split personality. They create interference patterns that are typical of waves. They reflect off surfaces, suggesting that they could be a wave or a particle, or both at the same time. They can also be used to liberate electrons from their shells: something that indicates that they are particles. But how does light determine whether it acts as a particle or a wave? 4 Time, the onward march We only get older, not younger. Trees only get taller; they don't return to acorns. Our Sun only ever uses up its fuel, never returning to a cool ball of hydrogen gas. Time only goes in one direction ... but why is it impossible for us to reverse the clocks? 5 We are living in a hologram This one boggles the mind. The universe, everything we see and feel and experience, may actually have two spatial dimensions. Think of a 2D hologram, like the one on the back of a credit card: it can have all of the information of a 3D image but in only two dimensions. Some scientists have postulated that our universe is like the hologram on your credit cards: space seems like it has three dimensions, but it may turn out that all we are seeing is a projection from a 2D universe outside of our perception. 6 Matter and antimatter There is a definite discrepancy between the ratios of these two substances. There was supposed to be an equal amount of ordinary matter and antimatter – particles with the same mass but opposite charge – in the early universe, but now the universe is overwhelmed with regular matter . Many theories have been thrown around, for example that particle genesis favored one way of creating matter, but nothing conclusive has popped up. The mystery of how matter "won" over antimatter may be revealed in the newly-upgraded Large Hadron Collider at CERN. 7 The lifetime of the universe This mystery, the end of the universe, might not keep you up at night, but it will certainly be of concern to beings alive far into the future. This epic event is predicted to occur in about 10 billion years. Two opposing theories are the Big Crunch and the Big Rip . Neither of these outcomes sound terribly fun. The big crunch is the opposite of the Big Bang – all of the pieces of matter in the universe will stop accelerating away from each other and start accelerating toward each other. A boiling collision of all of the matter in the universe ensues (and mankind is unlikely to survive that). The Big Rip is where all of the pieces of matter in the universe continue to accelerate away from each other, faster and faster until eventually space-time moves so fast that it rips atoms apart (mankind is also unlikely to survive that one). These two possibilities aren't the only possible outcomes for the universe – sadly it seems unlikely that our generation will ever know its fate. 8 Why can't we imagine four dimensions? We little humans struggle to envision a world with four spatial dimensions. Some theories (such as string theory) need as many as eleven dimensions to be hypothetically possible. If string theory turned out to be correct, we'd have to figure out how there are six missing dimensions tangled up in our reality. I can feel a headache coming on... 9 Why does light have a universal speed limit? c, the speed of light constant, is valued at 3x10 meters per second. But why this figure and not, for example, 4x10 m/s? Is it a random digit pulled out of a bag of numbers when a new universe explodes into existance? It's currently impossible to know why the speed of light is the speed that it is... all we know is that our universe couldn't exist without this limit. 10 Unifying the big and the small Everything big, like stars and black holes, is made up of small things: particles. Einstein's laws of relativity govern the very big, while quantum mechanics is king in the realm of the very small. But physicists can't seem to jam the two theories together. The trouble is that gravity just doesn't appear to work on the nanoscopic scale. And bizarre quantum effects, like quantum tunneling (whereby an atom can "tunnel" through an otherwise impenetrable boundary), can't be applied to planets or stars. Your eyes would likely pop if the Moon suddenly "tunneled" through the Earth. It seems barmy that there would be one theory for everything big and another for everything small. Some scientists are trying to tackle this problem, and even making headway, but the missing link is still incredibly elusive. 1 Like |

the ground, and why the sky appears blue. The quest to uncover all
of the secrets of the universe is guaranteed to be filled with difficult

Many physicists have already wrestled with the riddles of existence,
but there are many more conundrums to solve. Get ready for the ten
greatest unsolved mysteries of physics... the enigmas that have
evaded the most eminent minds the world has ever known.
Dark energy
We can't see it and we can't feel it, but we can test for it, and nobody
knows what it is. In spite of this, scientists think that dark energy
makes up around 70% of the universe. It was imagined to explain
why galaxies don't just drift apart but instead accelerate away from
each other. You can think of it as a repulsive gravity that pushes
matter apart. How it works, however, is still a mystery.
Dark matter
The other "dark" substance in our universe. Dark matter , like dark
energy, cannot be seen or felt. This elusive substance has some
differences to dark energy though; the only way that we have
observed it is indirectly. We know that there must be more matter in
the universe than we can see because we can measure its
gravitational effects, but no one knows exactly what makes up this
mysterious stuff.
It's a wave... it's a particle!
Rays of light have a split personality. They create interference
patterns that are typical of waves. They reflect off surfaces,
suggesting that they could be a wave or a particle, or both at the
same time. They can also be used to liberate electrons from their
shells: something that indicates that they are particles. But how does
light determine whether it acts as a particle or a wave?
Time, the onward march
We only get older, not younger. Trees only get taller; they don't return
to acorns. Our Sun only ever uses up its fuel, never returning to a
cool ball of hydrogen gas. Time only goes in one direction ... but why
is it impossible for us to reverse the clocks?
We are living in a hologram
This one boggles the mind. The universe, everything we see and feel
and experience, may actually have two spatial dimensions. Think of a
2D hologram, like the one on the back of a credit card: it can have all
of the information of a 3D image but in only two dimensions. Some
scientists have postulated that our universe is like the hologram on
your credit cards: space seems like it has three dimensions, but it
may turn out that all we are seeing is a projection from a 2D universe
outside of our perception.
Matter and antimatter
There is a definite discrepancy between the ratios of these two
substances. There was supposed to be an equal amount of ordinary
matter and antimatter – particles with the same mass but opposite
charge – in the early universe, but now the universe is overwhelmed
with regular matter . Many theories have been thrown around, for
example that particle genesis favored one way of creating matter, but
nothing conclusive has popped up. The mystery of how matter "won"
over antimatter may be revealed in the newly-upgraded Large Hadron
Collider at CERN.
The lifetime of the universe
This mystery, the end of the universe, might not keep you up at night,
but it will certainly be of concern to beings alive far into the
future. This epic event is predicted to occur in about 10 billion years.
Two opposing theories are the Big Crunch and the Big Rip . Neither of
these outcomes sound terribly fun. The big crunch is the opposite of
the Big Bang – all of the pieces of matter in the universe will stop

toward each other. A boiling collision of all of the matter in the

Rip is where all of the pieces of matter in the universe continue to
accelerate away from each other, faster and faster until eventually
space-time moves so fast that it rips atoms apart (mankind is also
unlikely to survive that one).
These two possibilities aren't the only possible outcomes for the
universe – sadly it seems unlikely that our generation will ever know
its fate.
Why can't we imagine four dimensions?
We little humans struggle to envision a world with four spatial
dimensions. Some theories (such as string theory) need as many as
eleven dimensions to be hypothetically possible. If string theory
turned out to be correct, we'd have to figure out how there are
six missing dimensions tangled up in our reality. I can feel a
headache coming on...
Why does light have a universal speed limit?
c, the speed of light constant, is valued at 3x10 meters per second.
But why this figure and not, for example, 4x10 m/s? Is it a random
digit pulled out of a bag of numbers when a new universe explodes
into existance? It's currently impossible to know why the speed of
light is the speed that it is... all we know is that our universe couldn't
exist without this limit.
Unifying the big and the small
Everything big, like stars and black holes, is made up of small things:
particles. Einstein's laws of relativity govern the very big, while
quantum mechanics is king in the realm of the very small. But
physicists can't seem to jam the two theories together. The trouble is
that gravity just doesn't appear to work on the nanoscopic scale. And
bizarre quantum effects, like quantum tunneling (whereby an atom
can "tunnel" through an otherwise impenetrable boundary), can't be

Science/Technology / Nasa Found That Everything The Bible Says Is True by Gluthatione: 9:45pm On Oct 03, 2015 |
Did you know that NASA’s space programmes are busy proving that was has been called ‘myth’ in the Bible is true? Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis engine Company in Baltimore, and a consultant in the space programmes, relates the following incident: “One of the most amazing things that God has for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland. They were checking out the positions of the sun, moon and planets out in space where they would be 100, and 1000 years from now. We have to know this as we do not want a satellite to collide with any of these in its orbits. We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole project will not bog down. Computer measurements and data were run back and forth over the centuries when suddenly it came to a halt, displaying a red signal, which meant that either there was something wrong with the information fed into it, or with the results as compared to the standards. They called in the service department to check it out, and the technicians asked what was wrong. The scientists had discovered that somewhere in space in elapsed time a day was missing. Nobody seemed able to come up with a solution to the problem. Finally one of the team, a Christian, said: “You know, when I was still in Sunday School, they spoke about the sun standing still…” While his colleagues didn’t believe him, they did not have an answer either, so they said: “Show us.” He got a Bible and opened it at the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with ‘common sense’. There they read about the Lord saying to Joshua: “Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not be a man of them stand before thee.” (Joshua 10:. Joshua was concerned because the enemy had surrounded him, and if darkness fell, they would overpower him. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That’s right – “And the sun stood still and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is this not written in the book of Ja’-sher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven and hastened not to go down about a whole day.” (Joshua 10:13). The astronauts and scientists said: ” There is the missing day!” They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it, but it was not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua’s day was 23 hours and 20 minutes – not a whole day. They read the Bible again and there it was: “about (approximately) a day.” These little words in the Bible were important, but they were still in trouble, because another 40 minutes were still unaccounted for, and this could mean trouble 1000 years from now. Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible which said the sun went backwards. The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but once again they opened the Book and read these words in 2 Kings. Hezekiah, on his deathbed, was visited by the prophet, Isaiah, who told him he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for some sign as proof. Isaiah said: “Shall the sun go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?” And Hezekiah answered: “It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; nay, but let the shadow return backwards ten degrees.” And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.” (2 Kings 20:9 -11). Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes! Twenty-three hours and twenty minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in 2 Kings accounted for the missing day in the universe! Health / Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease (cjd) by Gluthatione: 11:56am On Sep 28, 2015 |
In the recent years a handful of illnesses have come to the attention of the public and have been the focus of fear or anxiety. Often these diseases are not new, and usually they are very uncommon, but the fear arises because they are perceived as untreatable killers. CJD is a disease that causes brain damage that lead to rapid decrease of mental function and movement. CAUSES, INCIDENCE AND RISK FACTORS CJD is thought to be caused by a protein called a prion. A prion causes normal proteins to fold abnormally. This affects the others proteins ability to function. CJD is a very rare it is usually first appears between ages 20 and 70 years. CJD can be grouped into 2 types classic and new variant CJD. Classic types are 1. Sporadic CJD:- It occurs for unknown reason. 2. Familial CJD:- When a person inherits the abnormal prion from parent. Variant types CJD:- Is a form that is related to mad cow disease(Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) ). The infection that causes the disease in cows is believed to be the same one that causes variant CJD in human. vCJD can be caused by exposure to contaminated products. Other cases have occurred when people were given Corneal transplants other tissues, or blood transfusions from infected donors. Other related diseases that is caused by prion 1. Kuru (seen in papua new guinea women who ate brains of dead relatives as part of a funeral ritual. 2. Scrapie (found in goat). SYMPTOMS Blurred vision, changes in gait, Dementia hallucination, Lack of coordination muscle stiffness. TREATMENT There is no known cure for this condition. Interleukins and other medications may help slow the disease. The outcome of CJD is usually very poor within 8 months it usually lead to death. PREVENTIONS Medical equipment should be treated to remove proteins that may cause the disease. Most countries now have strict guidelines for managing infected cows to avoid transmitting CJD to humans. ;DCREUTZFELDT-JAKOB DISEASE (CJD) · In the recent years a handful of illnesses have come to the attention of the public and have been the focus of fear or anxiety.
