Seun: I’m beginning to agree with the people that say Dany is not fit to rule. If the only thing keeping a king from massacring thousands of totally innocent people is the advice of his/her current advisors, then the king is not fit to rule in a civilized society, since there’s no guarantee that the advisors will always be there.
If people like Jorah, Ser Barristan and Tyrion had not been advising Dany, she would have done something like this a long time ago. I would not want to have such a person ruling over me. They underestimated her. We all did. We thought the pretty little lady was just spitting fire when she threatened to burn cities to the ground. She was serious.
We saw glimpses of this but we were carried away by her beauty, appeal and her dragons. Now, it's upon us and we only have one episode to deal with it.
If you got 10-13 mins to spare, watch this clip and you'll get to hear GRRM say his ending is similar to D& D's ending cos they've discussed it. The only downside from D& D was the way they crammed so much into the final season. It wad reported that HBO wanted to pay more for them to create extra seasons but D& D turned it down. They must have their reasons tho. GRRM interview is around 8-12 mins if you don't have time to watch it all
Most of you saying the producers spoiled Dany's arc have all forgotten about Bran's vision way back when he saw a dragon flying over KL which panned out in the last episode.
The producers have decided how the show will end since they ran out of GRRM's content. They sat and discussed it with GRRM and there were no qualms about it. Some are claiming the timing is too short but do you know how much the major actors and actresses earn not to talk of how much it costs to build sets. Did you know Sansa didn't make any appearance in E5, so did Cersei in E3; just to save costs I believe.
NB: GOT is not a normal movie that will end like we've been used to, if not Ed or Robb(@ least) would still be alive. The series is trying to portray stuffs that happened in a 'fantasy' world centuries back and they are trying to make it REAL like it happened so happy endings like Dany not going mad is just not gonna happen. No one will own a dragon and won't be power-drunk.
WarriAproko: She lost Jon snow. A betrayal. Not keeping to his word. Tyron thinks she will listen to him after causing Lord varys death. She noticed she only got the dothrakys and the unsullied. The north don't like her. She saw the red keep her family built and destroyed KL. In war if no one is on your side u are on your. Jon is a caward. I wonder what he even fight for... to soft to rule the 7 kingdom
What's left of the 7kingdoms y'all are talking about?
Most of the major houses are dead, what's left are just wall of stones. No more schemers, backbiters. like Cersei, Walder Frey, Roose Bolton, Tywin, Tyrells(Olena, Margery, Loras), Ellaria Sand and the sand snakes, Balon and Theon Grejoy, Littlefinger, Varys.
All the remaining peeps will be loyal to Jon Snow if he's a Targayan or Stark. Most of the major heirs of major houses are gone except The Starks
People saying Jon will become King have forgotten that there is no Iron Throne again; Dany said she's here to break the wheel, she didn't only break it but she burned it.
How everything is all going to end in one episode is what I don't understand?
While watching E5 at one point, my thought is that Dany's plan is to destroy KL and return to Essos just because they don't love her in Westeros like they do in Essos. I mean she said Jon, Tyrion and Varys betrayed her and these are the Westerosis that are closest to her(even though Varys ain't a Westerosi). Dany craves for love and attention and that's why she gets angry when she doesn't get it. She likes being a ruler than being a leader that's why she acts vicious whenever she's about to sentence. Jon is by far a better 'leader'.
Crossing my arms and waiting on how D& D will finish all these off in just one Episode. Everyone that started S1 are all dead except a handful. This would have rather been called Game of Death.
We are gradually getting there bro, The way some ladies stares at me these days Is alarming. Though I look and dress good most times. Same for some reasonable men as well I think. Although I don't know what the stares Is all about as I don't even give any Bleep. What Is doing me Is more than anything between their legs or their attention. This afternoon at the ATM stand, There was a girl who stared at me to the extent that I caught her red handed. The funny thing was I even thought she would look side ways as I've noticed. But to my surprise, She Just glued her eyes to Me. Me I was like when u tire dey look. You go look away lol.
IamD18: Lol, almost every fan of that show love Danny, but my love for am come get k-leg when she asked Jon not to tell anyone that he's a Targaryen. Lol.
She's so obsessed with the throne, her love for the throne is more than the one she has for her people.
She would get tired if she finally gets to sit on that damned throne. Same thing that happened to Robert
Vivipop: I will either have both or none of them at all. I am all up for a bitter sweet end.
I swear bitter sweet end for me is seeing Jon alive and Arya lives or vice versa. If both dies, then I've wasted 7 years of my life on GOT..... Grrrrr...... Arya better lives if Jon dies
Ksslib: That post-battle celebration scene really touched me. Everything was going so well, booze & all that until Tormund came, started yapping, continued yapping before delivering the final blow..
" A mad man or a King" ..
Danerys had to force saliva through her throat to soothe the pain. Damn it, Life has been so so unfair to my poor baby. She doesn't deserve this. She doesn't. You fight all your life for something, get centimeters to grabbing it only for life to slap your hand like "Taah , this belongs to someone else" .
Dany's heart was ripped not just even because Tormund called Jon a king. It is because at that moment, she realized how much of a king Jon indeed was. The crowd he pulls. The natural likeness every one around the table had for him, even a Wilding. They would do anything for him.
That scene was also painful because Dany, for the first time in a very long time, realised she was alone. Kind of. Let me explain.
Did you see the expression on her face when she saw Tyrion & Jamie drinking & laughing? In that instant she realized the pure love the two brothers have for each other after all that has happened and will always have for each other no matter what.
Dany turns to look at Jon, Jon is on a table surrounded by a crowd who have nothing but pure love for him. And loyalty too. In that instant Dany realises these people will do anything for him. They have pure love for him. And she wants that too.
While all this fun was going on, while everybody were busy catching trips, where was Dany? She was alone, quiet, sitting on a table, looking like that new albino student everybody in class pretends doesn't exist.
Even the amorous looks she was giving Jon as if to say "ok everybody seems to be having fun, won't you keep me warm my love"? was abruptly cut short by yapping Tormund who reminded her of the reality on ground. And how unfair can be.
Jon is basically the only thing Dany has asides the Iron throne in this lonely world. From the look of things, she'll be lucky to have any.
I even saw my baby looking like a mad woman in next week's snippet: hair tattered, looking depressed. The last time I saw my baby in an unkempt hair was when she walked into a fire & came out with three dragons.
Even then, even with the ashes, smoke and all that, she didn't look this... this... ** I don't even know the right word to use** .
They've finally succeeded in making my baby mad. I won't even talk about Missendie.
D& D , GRRM enough!! Just kill her for me already. Kill her for me let me bury her. She's had enough.
Lol ... That was when she lost it. If she was half the person Jon is, she should have declared Jon King and marry him. She'll be Queen that way but she wants to be the monarch and have Jon as the queen. The mumu Jon too is just so.... Abeg don't lemme abuse Jon.
Vivipop: When did DB Weiss make that statement? Has Bran made it past the wall before he made that statement? Like i said before, from what I deduced from that writhae, after Bran made it past the wall with the mark of the NK, the NK's army couldn't climb the very high walls, they are not equipped for that. There is no where in the show or books that portrayed the dead could really make that very high climb. Dragon brought than the wall, thus making it easy for his armies to walk pass. If Bran had stayed back or gotten killed in the north, believe me the NK won't make it pass the wall.
You are a very rude person. I won't dignify you with one more reply, enjoy
You shouldn't have answered him again. Dude is rude, he's feeling like GRRM/D and D. I don't know why some people will decide to be blind to obvious facts. Mtchew
Vivipop: Benjen isn't Night King neither is he Bran. Benjen was not marked. As a matter of fact, he isn't even human neither is he a wight. He was about to transition before dragon glass was shoved into his heart. So, we don't even know what he is even though he promised us he is still fighting for the humans...
As for the wall. That wall is freaking high. For all we know, the wights may not know how to climb the wall like ygritte, Jon and some wildlings did sometime. This is not the winterfell wall that they had to stack against each other to climb it. The wall is so high you wouldn't see where it stopped with the sky. Knight king bringing down the wall made it easy for the dead to pass. With or without the dragon bringing down the wall, the dead and the NK would have crossed to the other side as long as Bran went that way. Its just that without the barrier, it was just a piece of cake for them
God bless you!! Thank you for saving me 5mins of typing
You are very correct Gman. Rheagal was still suffering from PTDD - Post Traumatic Dragon Disorder -- before he took to his last fatal flight. With enough time to recoup, his fatality could have been avoided.
However, to really understand the main cause of my dear Rhaegal's death, we have to go back to the cool, breezy morning of 1738 when Daniel Bernoulli released what is now known as "The Bernoulli Principle" in his highly acclaimed paper -- Hydrodynamica..
Bernoulli's principle states that as the velocity of air(or fluid) increases over the surface of an object, pressure decreases below. See Gman, anything that wants to remain in air must obey this principle. So how did poor Rheagal disobey Bernoulli.
It's simple.
Bernoulli discovered that the only reason birds can fly is because the shape of their wings allow air move very fast over the top and slow beneath, thus creating a very high pressure below the wing. This is why aircraft wings are specially designed & modified like an advanced bird's: to maintain a very high pressure below the wing.
This high air pressure that is created below the wing of a bird or aircraft acts as a thick blanket of air. So anytime you see an aircraft flying just know there is an invisible layer of high pressure air-blanket it is floating on below the wing that prevents it from falling.
Back to Rhaegal. If you notice, apart from suffering Post Traumatic Dragon Disorder, Rhaegal had large holes in one of his wings. As a matter of fact, the directors wanted us to take note of that. And Immidiately I saw this I knew kasala don burst!! I just kept shaking my head & screaming "Bernoulli.... Bernoulli" . My coursemates thought I was mad.
There's a reason special maintenance checks are carried on aircraft wings before & after every flight because the moment air starts leaking from the top wing, air pressure cannot be maintained below... .... bye bye!!
Asides from the PTDD, Rhaegal was basically a flying basket, and baskets.... cannot fly. The blanket of air pressure that could have kept it floating properly and manoeuvring danger like a boss was leaking badly & that affected Rhaegal's aerodynamics & concentration.
To compensate for the other perforated wing, poor Rhaegal had to put in a double shift throughout the entire flight to King's landing....and that affected his concentration when it mattered most.
The rest is history. Poor Rhaegal!!
All this could have been avoided had Illyrio smuggled some engineering text books alongside the Dragon eggs he gave my poor baby, Danerys, as a wedding gift.
Vivipop: I like Jon, I really do. I also like Danny, they both have gone through hell and back. Well which of the characters haven't? Somehow, I have always known their path was going to cross right from the first episode in season one. I have been a supporter of Jonearys even before they met. I would love to see both of them together on the throne or none at all. It's either Jonearys or none at all, I won't chose between them.
Please choose.
Jon is a better ruler that is loved by most Westerosi
I feel Ser Bronn is too selfish and covetous. How can u be Lord of Riverrun or The rich just pike that. You are just a cutthroat and that's all. That guy should die abeg
Not to be too critical but show-wise, how exactly has Jon proven to have a song of ice and fire?? This man's birth caused the biggest power shift in Westeros in 3000 years so apparently he's somewhat special, but how special? I haven't seen anything special he's done since he assumed all these power positions thrust forcefully on him.
Ned raised him in the North where loyalty is KEY. That's what he knows, Jon respects Ned more than anyone.
You're looking for specialty? What's special about Robert, Joffrey and Tommen?
BRAINZBox: This G.O.T should end abeg. Me, I am tired of the back and forths...
I couldn't even comments since, cos I am like WTF did I just watch ?
Its as if this episode was "operation display your worst side". Either a character is not smart or cruel....
Thinking how I used to like the Starks..... Turns out they are just "typical northmen"... Very unwelcoming..
Danny own, I can't even say. Rest you nor gree, share throne you nor gree.... Its as if she takes advice and does the opposite....
I just prefer my heartbroken giantsbane approach.... Leave these people and their foolish politics... And go flex your "free folkishness" in the true north...
Imagine Ser Brienne, picking a one handed man over someone who drinks giants milk.... These southerners are really strange....
Olorun..... Leaving a giant's dicck to that one handed MF
GrabHisBalls: Where she told him not to tell anyone got me really mad. At that point, if I were Jon, I would've deduced she loved the throne more than him. She wants to rule by any means possible. Indeed, power intoxicates. I was happy he didn't make that promise, so, didn't have to keep it. She bleeped up! And if she dies, no tears from me.
