MasterShifu010:I appreciate the detailed response homie. |
deewhydoski:Gracias homie. |
MasterShifu010: deewhydoski:How much for 2 bedroom apartment en suite? Is the excellent power supply applicable everywhere or only in some neighborhoods? If the latter, which neighborhoods? |
olahero:Thanks for the response. |
olahero:Which state? How many hours of electricity per day? What's the annual rent for a 2 bdr and 3 bdr ensuite in your neighborhood? |
Jaiytech:Get a quote from the likes of MANTRAC (CAT), Cummings, and Perkins (or their associate assemblers using Perkins internals, such as FG Wilson, Mikano). Consult a knowledgeable gen technician as well to get an inside scope. For instance, I believe CAT generators are reliable, but maintenance is expensive. Assembled Perkins are common with readily-available parts at relatively modest prices; but can be a drag if the head of your servicer isn't screwed on right. Also, depending on location, get in touch with your DISCO or a private firm with excess power output to get a dedicated line. The latter is the most cost-effective solution. Use the generator for backup. The running cost of a diesel generator with high capacity is obscene. Solar isn't that much of an alternative either. The upfront cost will build a new [albeit smaller] property from scratch; not to mention space requirement for the panels of a three-digit KVA installation. |
LONGPREEK:Can you kindly share the options? Without revealing your residence of course. |

Iceberg3:Seems to me that Lutian's only gripe is the fuel consumption. If anyone has any tips to improve fuel efficiency, do share. Otherwise, that is my takeaway from using the brand. |

brightk:What is the average speed? I see it's 4Mbps on the Glo support page. Using 300GB within 24 hrs would mean the speed is higher right? |

WarriAproko:No it isn't. Everyone can read and follow the exchanges. Then come to their own independent conclusions. If you aren't making an enquiry, seeking clarification, or sharing a review, keep your opinion to yourself. That's basic etiquette. |
Guys I need your collective input. So I've a LUTIAN LT3900. Used it for the past year without any "major" repairs. The current issue is that it shuts off within 30 minutes. I'm willing to share the backstory if that'd help in proferring a solution. But the bottomline is that there's oil in it. It starts well. Even changed the carburetor just this evening. Still goes off soon after starting. |
ReppingLocals:Post your issue on this thread -- https://www.nairaland.com/2335449/professor-type-generator -- for expert help. That said, my advice would be to return it and get a replacement as it should still be under warranty. It's completely normal for some units to be defective; there's no perfect assembly line. With standard moderate usage, an original Lutian gen should last 1 year plus before you even remember to service it. |
Crespostakes:Think it's fixed now. |
Mustack:US has been using Russia's rocket engines to get to space for decades now. It's only ending now because of SpaceX and BO coming up with their own bespoke engines. Continental Europe buys Russia's oil and gas than any other regional bloc in the world. So forget the bluster and theatrics, when push comes to shove, even mortal enemies would shake hands if it means jobs and FDI. China failed when they tried to weaponize rare-earth metals against Japan back in 2010; they'd fail again against the US. Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. |
hassinho707:Who would chase who? The funny thing is that you cheapies don't have brand loyalty. In a couple of months time, if the ban stays and Huawei expectedly starts struggling, you guys would port quietly to Xiaomi, Oppo, Lenovo, or Asus; that's if you aren't using a Transission phone already. The excuse would be, why be a guinea pig for an unpolished OS with limited app support when there are cheaper phones with the latest Android version. The only people who'd ride and die with Huawei are its Chinese users who already do not use the Play Store. If the ban stays Huawei is dead in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. Oak OS will become the latest joke after Windows 10 Mobile, BB10, Tizen, Sailfish, Jolla; and all the other hyped failures. |
Crespostakes:It's unlikely any higher-up would respond. If it's anything like last time, it'd resolve on it's own (or they'd work on it behind the scenes without being vocal about it). But it could take up to 2-3 weeks before you it's mitigated. Also password resets do nothing. And if you're logged into your account with another device, do not log out on that device. Still I imagine it wouldn't hurt to update here periodically that you aren't able to log in yet. Beyond that there's nothing else you can do besides hound a mod/admin via some other platform. |

engrchykae:A. America is not a kid. China is the kid throwing tantrums after being disciplined for their years-long misbehavior. B. Any company can build their own OS. LG has WebOS used in their TVs. Samsung has Tizen used in their TVs n smartwatches. If Huawei thinks they can succeed where Microsoft, Blackberry, Samsung, and Mozilla failed; they are free to try. We all know it'd be a rip-off of Android and skinned like iOS since they're shameless IP thieves and copy cats. C. China was one of the principal parties that made the rules. They've forgotten that America can only inconvenience themselves for so long before striking. China should get in line or do their worst. |
engrchykae:US, UK, France, China, and Russia. Said rules have been ratified by the more than 130 countries that are members of the WTO. China MUST play fair or suffer the consequences of their brazen IP theft and protectionism. China banned/limited Facebook, YouTube, Wikipedia, et cetera costing said companies billions of dollars in revenue. You did not fume. Small play with Huawei, you're about to pop a vein. All hope is not lost. Go use Kirin OS. |
In before the China apologists and anti-US elements start their strawman arguments. China keeps underestimating Trump's resolve to place them on a leash. China is trying to eclipse the US in every facet from economy to technology. For more than two decades, the US has tried to stay ahead by innovating more and playing by the rules. China hasn't. They've illegally weakened their currency, placed unfair restrictions and conditions on foreign companies who want to operate in China while Chinese companies get VIP treatment elsewhere, they've audaciously carried out the most extensive economic espionage in all of human history against every company of note from Google to Lockheed Martin, and have channeled state resources to give their companies unfair advantage. All this while the US has remained silent. Trump is saying ENOUGH Call it bullying or politically-motivated attack, I call it retribution. They've had it coming for so long. Especially Huawei after what they did to Canadian Nortel. |
