Star of Nigeria's reality TV show "The Gulder Ultimate Search"  and nude scandal actress, Anita Hogan, has got married to her Dutch boyfriend.

Friends and relations of Anita Hogan, a star of Nigeria’s TV reality show, The Gulder Ultimate Search, gathered at the registry of Eti Osa Local Government Area in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The occasion? The wedding of Anita toTed, her Dutch boyfriend with whom she was recently involved in a scandal. The scandal was about the splashing of their nude photographs on the pages of a Lagos-based evening newspaper in August.

It was a shocking development that instantly dampened the vivacity of the sensational actress, who threatened to commit suicide. Media reports said it took the intervention of Anita’s close friends before she reconsidered the decision to take her life.

The brouhaha that trailed the publication could make a bestseller movie. Everybody wanted to have a say in that matter. While many believed she was only a victim of circumstances, others said she was the worst thing that had happened to womanhood.

She tried desperately to explain how the photographs came about, but her efforts were dismissed by many as an afterthought and a cheap lie. While Anita said the photographs were taken as one of those crazy things that lovers do in their private moments, her traducers insisted she must have done it for commercial purposes.

However, an event that seemed like the end of the road for the actress from Akwa Ibom State soon became another opportunity to prove her daring abilities – a virtue she claimed to have in profuse abundance.

So, at a time that virtually everybody thought the actress would still bury herself in hiding over the publication of her nude photographs, she emerged at a get-together party of movie stars, tagged Colliseum Nollywood Night, on September 10, barely three weeks after the offensive publication. Seven days later, she was the object of all eyes at the Movie Mirror Night of Stars, another party involving Nigerian artistes.

Now determined to prove to the world that the photographs were not taken in a desperate bid for fortune, the couple on Wednesday exchanged marital vows before the klieglights.

Going by the level of turnout, however, it was evident that the nude pictures scandal had taken much shine off what would ordinarily have been a celebrity wedding. It is either many people did not get to know about the wedding or the couple chose to do their thing without getting many people involved. None of the known faces in Nollywood showed up.

A guest at the wedding actually dubbed it “a damage control thing”. But speaking to Spectacles, Anita’s lawyer, Tony Dania, said the marriage was planned since last year, but could not take place because of the sudden death of her father.

“Even after the father died, the couple decided to hold the wedding next year. It wasn’t until her husband came back from Cairo, where he is based, that he realised the magnitude of the scandal. And he didn’t want to wait any longer. Added to that, he will be transferred from Cairo soon so he decided to tie the knots before then.”

Be that as it may, the couple looked very much in love. Sitting in a sleek Honda Accord car as they awaited their turn to exchange marital vows at the registry, they giggled continuously like kids.

Brides usually look beautiful during their wedding, and Anita was no exception. Looking regal in a pink dress, Anita held tight to her beau.

When Spectacles asked her how she felt being a bride after the scandal, she said, “You are the one seeing scandal and problems. I am not seeing any of those. I have been living my life and nothing has changed that. I feel wonderful. I feel great. This is the happiest day of my life.”

But what could have attracted this young girl to the old-looking expatriate? Well to those that think it is her love for money, Anita quickly said, “My husband is a real man.

“I say it again, he is a real man. He stood by me when many others left. He did what many other men would not have done.

“That is one of the numerous things I like about him.”

Her husband, Ted, had many beautiful things to say about his wife in spite of everything.

“As you can clearly see, she is a beautiful girl. Which man would not want to fall in love with such a person? She is a great lady and I love her a lot,” he added.

On what she thought the future holds for her, Anita said, “It is going to be bright. I am going to have 10 children and together, we will live happily ever after.”
