The US does not have up to 800 military bases across the world maybe you wanted to say 80 ,majority of US bases are in the middle east and europe and with all those military bases they still fear China, the military might of a nation is not in how many bases you have, it is how modern your weapons systems are and your military strength i.e number of troops and reservists.
