Read those books, however try and adopt and practialize what you have learnt it helps a lot. e.g starting buying small properties e,g apartment etc . that way the books would make sense.
Donbrig:
I will definitely check these books out. Formal education will make you a living, but self-education will make you a fortune. Thanks boss, I appreciate, God bless.

You have a funny thinking, your think Gold is found on the street of america or London well think twice. as an investor u should always be open minded rather been shallow minded. if you are not successful in Nigeria even though they give you American visa or Canadian PR you would till be poor, coz its a thing of the mind. I would recommend u train ur mind and open ur heart. A word is a enough for the................
Raalsalghul:
undecided

But you stay abroad na, why don't you come back?

Hmmm smart and wiser talk, you are too much men. One billion gboza for you.
ahiboilandgas:
That the problem with the US....the credit system has given people false sense of prospertiy... a Wal-Mart worker will buy a 300k dollars house on credit buy 20k dollars car on credit 1000 dollars i phone on credit..then once there job lost millions of mortgage home will be abandon ...how can a 300 k home devalue to 100k within 12 months and no wars ...cos the prosperity was false in the first instant ...cos if ever jick amd harry that have good credit score can easy own a home (jick and harry in there millions) Wal-Mart, Amazon,Kfc workers now owing 300k dollars once there are job losses millions of homes with fake value will be abandon...one Main characteristic of asset and money (it must be scare ,limited and hard to come by) this bring the intrinsic value ....That why property bought in Nigeria keeps it value and appreciates ...cos not cheap credits and only people with real money (not credits score) that can own those home ...that why a plot moved to almost 100m in lekki and and real billions in ikoyi and asokoro etc ..even ikorodru cos the buyer is real amd thr seller is real.....now the over 50m americans out of work ...another round of crises is building unless the suspend mortgage payments .....it will take you over 25 years to pay for that your house cos u need almost 4000 dollars monthly to live , child care , utilities, car loan , tuition loan ,phone loan food loan credit card then house mortgage almost 2500 dollars monthly for 25 years

Are you abroad or in the Nigeria?
Raalsalghul:
Loud it!

How people choose to defend this god forsaken shit hole eludes me.

These folks most likely are benefiting from the rot/lawlessness.

It's the only explanation.

Those it really make a financial value owning a house, me thinks getting big apartment houses with a enough cash approach the bank and buy some real estate. again i think buying a house is just been tied to emotions.
Sholapey:
Exactly! We live in an estate very close to the airport and our mortgage is around €2800 monthly, we also pay insurance on everything we have including home appliances. One of our kids is a border, we pay around €3000 tuition fees per term, around €9000 a year. We pay road tax, car insurance, television licence and so on...infact, to enjoy all facilities abroad, you have to work for it and pay for it. The reason why some people prefer Nigeria than abroad is because they can't cut corners here like to do in Nigeria.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Godbpraised: 4:03pm On May 17, 2020
Bros and you think that money been paid to people is free money right? Just wait for the next two years and watch your taxes jump up like ogogoro water, u go know how far.
Thisnut:
people have no reason to be homeless in the United States right now. The federal govt is paying 600usd weekly plus whatever the state you're living is paying to those that lost their jobs. Every unemployed should be getting 800usd and above weekly right now. Banks have also freeze all interest rate on loans and mortgages . Where is the homelessness coming from?

If you can Believe CNN, you can also believe a teenager asking for money for textbooks

Very Sound !!!!!
DigitalMallam:
I'm amazed with the way you see and painted Nigeria.
Sorry to say, your likes are bad avert to this country. All what you ever know about your country is all negative. As has been aptly put by some analysts on this thread, no nation has it all.
Your type will be the one to evade tax at all cost here in Nigeria but will comply in US, simply for fear of deportation. And when they prove to you that you're an alein, you begin to shout westerners are racist.
Let me tell you the truth, you are an African and no matter how hard you tried to sell your birthright and dignity for a plate of porridge when the ships are down, you will be told the truth just as Trumps is doing right now.
You're even saddened that covid-19 death have not littered our streets with your unfounded hypothesis. I know you weren't born in the US, why haven't you died long ago before you secure visa to travel abroad since you claim we know nothing about medicine.
Where I work in Nigeria, we usually have this expatriate exchange program, westerners that visited Nigeria confessed during one of the valedictory gatherings, that Oyinbo people that ever visited Nigeria usually cry twice FIRST, when they are told they will be visiting Nigeria (because of the many negative things that is being circulated in the west, buttressed with unpatriotic elements like you) so they believe they are coming to live in hell. SECONDLY, when they come here and experience the opposite and began to enjoy life like never before (good and stable weather round the year, low tax, friendly people, respect etc) and suddenly the tenure expires and told to go back home. Thinking of what they will be missing, they begin to cry again.
When I visited Europe, most of my colleagues couldn't afford to buy or drive a car, they were all going on bicycle.
You will do side hussle investment TB, bond etc in Nigeria without any form of taxation. Opportunities abounds everywhere and that is not enough to cast your own to the dustbin
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Godbpraised: 8:40am On May 17, 2020
you can not be worth 100mllion and be living in poverty. some of you assertions about america is also wrong. an average Nigerian who goes abroad also becomes an american gradually, hence fails to save and lives his life as an american altogether.
Thisnut:
The reason why millions of Americans are now queueing on food stamps and don't have the 10% of 250k usd is simply because of the lack of saving culture over there, not because of unemployment or suffering .

An average American don't have fear for tomorrow, you get unemployment benefits when you lose your job, social security benefits kicks in as soon you're medically unable to work or as soon as you're 65years, This is the reason they live from paycheck to paycheck and have no reason to save up.

Unlike Nigerians, too many fear of the unknown, they accumulate wealth for fear of everything, very competitive, and to oppress their friends and family, in the process they develop high blood pressure, heart related issues because they don't know when to stop. When he dies young, people start saying he was a ritualist, meanwhile he died of restlessness.

It's very illogical to say you're better because have 100m naira. Have you put the quality of life into consideration? You have 100m naira, yet you're sleeping in darkness or at the mercy of the noise of generator from your neighbors, you have never driven in a comfort of a brand new car, never been to vacation out Africa, never had great medical care, never had a family picnic, or you do is work work and save because your are scared of getting broke.

Big and small business owners in the United States are being bailout by the government as we speak per the covid 19 because they have to be back in business. what happens to the Nigeria corporations and small business owners in Nigeria right now? Perhaps eating their capital as we speak.

You can have money and still live below poverty line and you can have little and live like a king. Most landlords in Nigeria think on buying the next plot of land and next bag of Cement, while the tenant thinks about drinking the next bottle of beer with pepper soup and stanby gen disturbing the peace of the landlord. Savings is relatively subjective

Says who my brother runs a tech company in Nigeria his cashing out big time., he bought two houses worth 400millon naira within 2019 and 2018. His big in real estate. Meanwhile some guys on abroad are working 24/7 till them become 65years.work is good but invest also.
Alaska90:
The tech companies in Nigeria are not making money because they don't have the right solution for the existed markets.

Like I said before you can make big money anywhere you are in the world especially in digital sector

If I am lying check out the story of Patrick Collision on Google

He created his company and solution in Ireland and there was no money to sponsor him and his brothers

Then Silicon valley found out about his solution and they came for him and took him away to US

Today the he is worth more than $3 billion

My argument is on salary vs business

In business you can make big money anywhere in the world depending on the solution you are providing

But not so with earning Salary
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Godbpraised: 1:47am On May 17, 2020
Reallyhuh?? Hmm na wa make i ni talk
missjekyll:
Tech is where it's at now. I personally know a tech guy who makes 1000 pounds per day plus enhancements. he works everyday for 8 hours. Those websites and hospital it stuff do not run themselves. I believe the tech guys salary.

I also believe the 150 to 1.2 million. people have moved from 150k to 2 million after tax. It all depends on your skills. If your skills are in high demand eg medical or tech, you will make quite a bit of money.

I can attest to these because I have personally witnessed this from people in the uk.

No sir, you will receive it in ghana cedis but at their government exchange rate which is very good.
Sepending on what you fill on the form, if you want to be the beneficial and collect it, you can but if you have a trusted person their, he can withdraw it for you.
You will change the ghana cedis at the ghana bdc to dollars which is at a good rate and bring the dollars back to nigeria to convert to naira.
It's a bit stressful bro.
Not as easy as we are saying it on nairaland but if the money is a bit much, the stress is worth it.
Going regularly to accra is not easy.

Exactly my case , being in oil and gas sector then ,business moving like a fast train , I was practicing the submissive women under the manipulation of the igbo culture that l let myself be swindled In the name of marriage .Any time I bring up investing of my money in property is causes a huge fight that am not submissive and not ready to be a wife.Next thing is for him to present to me a business proposal of his and I will be manipulated into helping him achieve his goal.and he vowed that his wife can’t have a property under her name even though she is working as in my case.2012 before we bought Ogudu ,First bank offered me mortgage of 20yrs for 25m with equity contribution of 30% for 4bedroom duplex at diamond estate sangotedo ajah beside novare mall then no mall was in existence around that vicinity , I drove from mainland to see the house as I got home excited and told my dear husband , he said all sorts of humiliating words to be and picked up fight . I got weak and lost the opportunity. Now the estate house now cost 60m now and empty plot 30m . It’s my past though. I have gotten over it , just a lesson to the gullible women out there .
