The APC leadership in the South West owe this man a lot. Fayemi and Aregbesola in particular should compensate him if they have not done so. Tinubu tried compensating him by installing his candidate in the last Ondo state election but the iroko machine crushed them.

ijaw citizen: You don't just come up here & accuse GEJ of imaginary crimes which only exists in your jealous & hatefilled head. What crime was mentioned in the write up?
That monies were paid to a firm for offering valuable services to a FG agency is now a crime?

I truely wish the money was given free of charge to Tompolo & other Niger Deltans, It is our money, you don't get to question us for spending our money because a lot more is stolen unnoticed by your own people but any money coming to the Niger Delta, thats when you demand accountability and due process.

You even question our governors how they spend 13% when you haven't told us how you spend 87%.

Instead of making noise & carving a thief out of Tompolo over stipends given to him for a job well done, you should focus your attention on real thieves like subsidy fraud thieves currently being tried in your own backyard in Lagos and demand with half of this determination that they be brought to justice. Nonsense!
And to even realise these haters have never for once asked how suddenly Tinubu became a billionaire.

National Confab: Tinubu is confused - AD

Posted by: Our Reporter October 14, 2013 in Exclusive Leave a comment

The Lagos State Chapter of the Alliance for Democracy has criticized statements credited to a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the proposed National Conference.
A statement by the Chairman of the AD in Lagos State, Kola Ajayi, erred by rejecting the proposed conference.
Tinubu had on his return to the country last week Saturday said he was not convinced about the viability of the conference.
But Ajayi faulted this position.
The statement by Ajayi reads in part: “AD’s first reaction is to wonder whether Tinubu was trying to draw attention to his return given the media black-out that characterized his absence. But the party believes that it’s appropriate to point out the fundamentally disingenuous and self-contradictory tactic of Bola Tinubu in rejecting the proposed national conference, especially because he had all along and through the years been an ardent advocate of a national conference. The party further points out that Tinubu has indeed built some of his dubious claims as a progressive politician on his well-known advocacy for such a conference.
“Apart from the self-contradiction of his latest anti-conference claim, AD wonders if the APC leader is not indulging in a kind of delusion of grandeur about the weight of his pronouncement in national affairs. If the President of Nigeria, having soberly considered the long-running demand by various stakeholders and nationalities across the nation for a national conference, has now decided in his capacity as the Chief Executive and Commander-in-Chief of this nation, to propose the convening of such a fundamental and nation-building conversation, who is Bola Tinubu, and where does he derive a legitimate mandate to so categorically pontificate on the rightness or otherwise of the President’s decision? Even the revered Awo, Zik or Ahmadu Bello, who indeed commanded sufficient political gravitas, respect, intellectual power – with public integrity to match, could never have hoped to contradict the majority of Nigerians and the nation’s elected Chief
Executive in such a cavalier manner on such an important nation-building imperative.
“Considering that Tinubu himself confessed, while making his statement, that he had not discussed the President’s conference decision with his APC colleagues and party – some or many of whom may actually support the President on the matter, isn’t it reckless, disrespectful and rather self-centred of him to rush ahead and make such a pronouncement without internal party consultations? That statement smacks of his well-known ‘’god-fatherist’’ instincts, which he has been using to dictate and monopolize decisions in his various, one-man-party summersaults – AC, ACN and now APC – all in six years!!. AD advises Tinubu not to let his dictatorial tendencies of godfather ego be the cause of an implosion in his latest, ideologically-barren political gang-up, which seems to have no deeper rationale than just opposing the PDP and taking over the Presidency.
“Besides, the President’s decision is proving very popular and well-received by the widest possible cross-section of stakeholders across the Nigerian polity. Since the announcement on Independence Day, the National Assembly, all key voices, leaders and commentators in virtually all political parties and geo-political zones have been cheering the President’s decision on this long-demanded confab.
“Apart from any other reasons, an obvious factor that argues for convening a national conference at this point in our nation’s history are the unprecedented centrifugal tensions and pressures in the polity, generated by a deadly, unity-threatening mix of religious and inter-ethnic animosities and violence. What more, with a cacophony of local and international voices confidently predicting the break-up of our country, what better time could there be for Nigerians to sit down together and discuss their suspicions, fears and demands, to jointly explore and set in statute the necessary compromises and accommodations required to guarantee the sustainable continuity and construction of the Nigerian Project?
“Even the fact that all the prominent Nigerians from all geo-political zones nominated by the President to drive the initial modality-setting process have gladly accepted to serve the nation on this critical assignment is an eloquent testimony to the validity of the confab. On the contrary, it is a pity, and indeed a testimony to the political pettiness, election-winning desperation and lack of depth in nation-building matters that the leader of a so-called opposition aspiring to lead Nigeria should see nothing in all this other than imagined and mundane tactics, means and methods for an up-coming election still more than a year away.

PoliticsRe: Reps Query Nimasa Over Payment Of $326m Into Tompolo's Firm by Goddex:
First, Tompolo does not own a private jet.

One of my wife's siblings work with a company around Tompolo's village.
Tompolo owns fleets of boats and is a small god of some sort when it comes to
water transportation around his village. We have so many liars around. Some people
take delight in fabricating and spreading falsehood all in attempt to run a government down.
If he has a private jet, which airport is it parked? Will somebody own an aircraft and park it in
his compound? Who has ever set his eyes on this aircraft? Even, anyone with a picture?

Second, Reps should do their work wholeheartedly in the overall interest of Nigeria. If there are sharp practices involved in the deal between NIMASA civil servants and Tompolo's company it should be exposed. But I know Tompolo's company has a contract with NIMASA and a worker must be paid his wages.

This was never the bargain. An inside source can authoritatively affirm that the Vice Presidential slot was promised to the South East if they can form an APC political bloc (no matter how little) and this necessitated the fractionation of APGA.

PoliticsRe: Fashola At Microsoft International HQ For Collaboration In ICT. PICS by Goddex: 12:20pm On Oct 13, 2013
Abok1: I can't help but be amused at some comments by the pro GEJ guys in this thread. It is not out of place for Fashola to take pictures with the Microsoft executives because he is a Diplomat and protocols demands that he shows courtesy by taking pictures. Microsoft is a major player in the technological sphere, and as part of their corporate social responsibilities, they need to give back to the less privileged, which in this case Africa easily comes to mind. By taking pictures is a form of documentary evidence for the archives of the corporation. I'm quite taken aback by the pessimistic tendencies of some pro GEJ pundits who would rather celebrate the bletcherous policies of the aeoliststs in power than commend the efforts of a governor that has the goodwill of the people behind him.

Based on their lust for pandering to their gluttonous appetite, they would rather make gambrinous statements and castigate a governor who has chosen to be proactive in the face of dissenting voices, at a time when looting the national treasury seems to be a thing of pride among the other governors.

Bros, stop the big grammar first.

Tell me one thing, just one thing in this thread that makes you join in the celeberation.

For me, like everybody, I opened the thread, saw beautiful pictures, scrolled down a bit to read up the story behind those pictures but found nothing. I scrolled down further to view people's comments only to see loads and loads of celebrations for Fashola. What for? Is it because he is handsome in those pictures or that he was shaking hands with some white people or that he entered Microsoft office? Is that not foolishness?
PoliticsRe: Fashola At Microsoft International HQ For Collaboration In ICT. PICS by Goddex: 11:31am On Oct 13, 2013
gregg2: . . . but really, the motive of some of these trips is to take pictures to entertain Nigerians for political reasons, nothing more. They themselves know that nothing will come out of it. APC governors like such showmanship and drama a lot.

By the way, why is there no story to support these pictures? What did he go there to do? How do we know his mission there?

Can you imagine the mentality of these APC e - rats? Nobody cared to know what took Fashola there. There is no write-up to backup the pictures and they jump up celeberating Pictures. Pictures!! Mere pictures!! Are some people normal in this country?

PoliticsRe: PDP Leading In Delta Central Polls by Goddex:
PDP in Early Lead

• Low Turnout, As DPP Rejects Result  • APC Alleges Rigging

• Corps Members Protest Non-payment Of Allowances

REPORTS Saturday night, say the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP)   candidate, Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, has won  five of the eight local councils in the Delta Central Senatorial bye-election held Saturday.

.Characterised by low voter turn out in Ethiopie East and Sapele Local Councils, the Delta Central Senatorial bye-election was held peacefully.

At Oghara, the hometown of former Governor James Ibori, accreditation started early.

In the two council headquarters of Oghara and Sapele, accreditation started at about 10am while voting started shortly after.

The Delta State Commissioner for Housing, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, said that he was very satisfied with the conduct of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Akpeki expressed opinion that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will triumph in the election.

Voting started at about 12pm and was peaceful and orderly, devoid of the disorderliness, which usually characterises elections in the country.

The Delta State DPP Chairman, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, however, rejected the election insisting it was deeply flawed. Even before the official announcement of the result, Ezeagwu said that he would reject the Commission announces.

Still fuming, the DPP Chairman explained that at Agbarho, Ughelli North Council, election materials did not arrive until 2pm, wondering what kind of result would come out of such an arrangement.

As for Okpe Local Council, materials did not arrive until 1pm, and even then, armed soldiers who were deployed to keep guard did not allow party agents to go with the materials on the ground that there was restriction of movement.

He said: ‘’INEC deliberately delayed materials so that our agents could not go with the officials. In places where there were materials, there were no officials from the Commission while in places where there were no materials, there were officials. As a result of that, we in the DPP are rejecting whatever result INEC will announce. The election is a sham.”

But speaking with reporters shortly after casting his vote at his hometown of Olomu, Ughelli South Local Council, the PDP candidate, Chief Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, vehemently disagreed, saying that he is satisfied with the conduct of the election.

Aguariavwodo said that his party was ready for the election and had campaigned vigorously.

He said: “All the aspirants worked with me. We campaigned throughout the length and breadth of the district. The party is the one to beat in the state.”

For Emerhor Otega, the APC candidate, he was not going to comment on the conduct of the election until he gets a general report on the conduct.

The All Progressive Alliance (APC) senatorial candidate in the Delta Central bye-election, Chief Otega Omerho, alleged rigging in Aladja wards by the PDP, even though the election was generally peaceful across the eight local councils that make up the district.

However, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof Amos Utuama, while casting his vote at Jeremi Ward 2 denied the allegation saying that it has become commonplace in Nigeria for losers to find excuses.

Some NYSC corps members who were supposed to man polling units protested non-payment of their allowances and were nonchalant about their electoral duties. This led to delays in several the councils. The development was corroborated by the Deputy Governor who said the payment issues were resolved and that the corps members went back to duty.

The less than 140 billion for Fed Min of works in the annual budget is damn too meagre to fix our roads speedily and should be stepped up. I know there are other competing needs like security and even ASUU all dragging for a chunk of the budget but the roads too need upgrading. I used that road recently and wasn't impressed with the pace of work. The contractors were only seen at the Onitsha end and it was obvious sufficient funds was not being released to them

PoliticsI Commend Fed Govt Efforts At Fixing Bad Roads – Ifesinachi Boss by Goddex(op):
I commend govt efforts at fixing bad roads – Ifesinachi boss

As the ’ember’ months progress steadily signalling the close of the year, people are getting ready to travel to their respective home towns for the much awaited Christmas celebration.  Most of them, especially from the eastern part of the country, are expecting a hitch-free journey back home to celebrate with their loved ones.
However, the problems usually encountered by the travellers yearly on their journey home are better imagined than experienced.  However, a major player in the transport industry in the country and Chief Executive Officer of Ifesinachi Motors, Prince Emeka Mamah has promised to effect the desired change disclosing that his transport compnay is putting measures in place to ensure safe and comfortable trips travellers desire.
Prince Mamah said: “as a leading road transport compoany in Nigeria, we expect the goodwill we have built over the years to continue.  First and foremost, we have vowed to give our numerous customers the best of services as never witnessed anywhere in the country. We have planned and strategically positioned to embark on journeys at appropriate time leaving at various locations of Ifesinachi bus terminals.
We ’re trying to make movements easy for our customers with our online bookings instead of having to queue up before proceeding to their destinations. It’s also important for our travellers to know that we’ve purchased state-of-the-art passenger jeeps which no transport company can boast of. It’s convenience and more comfortable. Finally, we are expecting a hitch-free movement where all the travellers will get to their destinations safely.
“Our customers will have to stay in the comfort of their homes, using their mobile internet devices to buy their tickets.   The new jeeps we’ve included in the fleet is also to add value to our operations.   In fact, it’s a delight that is worth the experience. The condition of roads have improved tremendously compared to how they were in the recent past.
Before now,  for instance, Lagos to Enugu or to any part of the East will take you a whole day, instead of six to seven hours.  I really commend our government for responding to our plights by fixing the bad spots on our roads. I seize this medium to further plead with our government to do more in improving on the states of our our roads.  This will no doubt reduce the rate of accidents and even robbery attacks on the highway.
“The question here is who’s safe, the world has become a one stop shop and so sophisticated that what happens anywhere in the world within a minute, spreads like wildfire. Kidnapping and terrorism is a global challenge. So, it’s not only related to Nigeria and it did not even originate here.  I have experienced that and so many families have also witnessed that, some had lost their lives and lives of loved ones.
It’s not something one can handle alone, no government has been able to nip that in the bud but I am expecting that by now, the authorities, with state-of- the-art weapons  would have risen to challenge or to curtail some of these happenings. At this stage of our national life, it’s high time our roads and other important places be installed with CCTV cameras with all its control units stationed at various divisional police stations for monitoring..
“Today, I am happy to announce that the world acclaimed NV 3500 first hit the Nigerian roads early this year through Ifesinachi.   It’s been wonders on wheels, very comfortable, roomy, the convenience unequalled and fully air conditioned having seat belts per sit. It takes maximum of 11 passengers. We did this for our passengers who are on the move having in mind the importance of time. It’s been a wonderful experience for our travellers.   Right now, those buses are always fully booked in advance.
To this effect, we have embarked on measures aimed at making sure that our drivers are well prepared for the challenges ahead.  It has been a regular training, frequent eye checkups, sound remunerations and a very good working relationship with the management team. Over the years, this has been our guiding principles for our drivers. Our advise to passengers ranges from reporting through our Customer Service Centers, the Executive director, making use of office suggestion boxes and also first class assistance of the Managing Director,”  he stated.
