Amenoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.. . |
These rebels can be contained. I know this for sure. |
Ngwakwe: Why should Nigerian media deliberately feed the public with un-verified and concocted pieces as news?I hear Atiku co-owns Vanguard Newspaper. Besides, you would expect all such grandstanding and propaganda especially from the break away group. They are the same people behind this piece of propaganda. |
@OP For your mind. Keep dreaming. |
Wow!! Wonderful innovation Gen Ihejirika. |
Tribalism, Hate is our worst problem. Most people here have left the message to attack the messenger simply because his name suggests he comes from a part of the country they do not like. |
leighcon: Meaning foreign brands are more expensive and more profitable right... then the dealers must have been buying from the local farmers who must be very rich now. These things don't work like magic, if the local market is what is being patronised you will see its multiplier effect everywhere, machines for rice processing and the spare parts would have its own market by now (I can't see that), technicians fixing those stuff would have training centers, transport sector would know it, there would be sales and marketing jobs out there, advertising agencies would be busier etc. From your previous posts I can infer you live in Lagos. Now, tell me, you live in Lagos and expect to according to you see "technicians fixing those Stuffs"? Is rice produced in Lagos? The South West generally is not known for rice cultivation. Rice is a common crop of northern Nigeria, parts of South South and South East. Visit the Abakaliki Rice Mills Complex for instance, if you want to see "technicians fixing those stuffs". |

We are not fighting here, we are analysing alternatives okay.
|
Yenagoa is a city of the future. I used to look down on that city based on some scathing remarks I read here on nairaland but my opinion changed since November 2012 when I first visited. The next 10yrs will surely see that city going places. |
rainbowman: I watched the State Governors session yesterday, though, I missed the keynote address from the Honourable Minister of Agriculture. From what I gathered, however, I discovered that the Minister had all the data including names and locations of all farmers who benefited from the GES programme with regards to fertilizer. Moreso, other state governors including the Governors of Kebbi, Anambra, Kogi and Cross Rivers state all had stories of how successful the scheme was but still pointed out some shortcoming where the Minister ought to improve. So its surprising that if some states recorded such feats while Mr Aregbesola could not.Other Governors were talking about improving value chains, bringing in investors and giving them some incentives such as land and tax holidays so as to readily process cash and food products, Mr Aregbesola claimed that the whole Agric transformation was a sham. For instance the Anambra state governor along with Governor Dakingari of Kebbi mentioned their success stories on rice production, using Sure P funds to purchase the products for storage from the peasant farmers in order to ensure price stability and income for the farmers however out brother from Osun state was just purely negative and obviously had no grasp about the issue at hand. I was really dissapointed with his response when asked what his state is doing differently in order to encourage investors to come and invest all he could point out was that he was feeding 300,000 pupils with one egg per week to which the entire session erupted in laughter. That is not to say that venture is not a good feat in itself, but the real question remains the sustainability of the whole venture since the resounding theme of the Summit is to make Agriculture private sector driven. As for the agriculture transformational agenda, I believe that there has to be cooperation between the Federal and State Governments regardless of political orientation, in that the States identify areas which are favourable to the them, bring in the investors and ask the Federal Government to provide gurantees for funding and policies since the state government more or less own the land.Aregbesola is obviously playing politics and this is most unfortunate because to me the agric sector is the most important since it employs about 60% of the population. It's an area that touches the lives of close to 70,000,000 Nigerians and should be devoid of our dirty politics. Spending 1 billion to buy fertilizer that ends up enriching his commissioners, LGA chairmen, advisers and political associates has been an age long practice but found to be fraught with high level fraud. |
Guk: I have a personal feeling that he Minister of Agric's Measurement/Metrics Information System is faulty but i may be wrong. He said we have achieved 33% production of rice meaning that every 1 in 3 bags of rice is produced in Nigeria.Quite a high percentage of the rice you find in our markets today which you call "foreign rice" is actually produced locally. Yes, this may surprise you, abi? Forget the pranks our market men/women play by bagging them in foreign brands - such as Uncle Bens, Mama Gold, Stalion, Cap etc. All na lie lie. . . |
Metuh didn't even need to respond. Everybody knew it was all cooked up propaganda |
PROPAGANDA!!! |
It's well. Nigeria is in save hands and can only get better. Team fresh air!! |
Salaries will be paid this week. |
Atiku had rebelled this way before but did not learn from it. They will return back to PDP begging to be admitted. |
Clerverly: SAN FRANCISCO, September 02, (THEWILL) – 22 senators elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Monday congratulated the promoters of the “New PDP”, the breakaway faction of the ruling party, and pledged their loyalty to the faction chaired by Abubakar Baraje. The bolded is a big lie. The PDP has over 70 senators in the National Assembly. This writer deliberately wants to cause panic. |
OP He's winning second term hands down |
egift: So in 14 years, PDP gave out licenses for GSM, bank policies, built some school and roads, renovated airports and paid salaries - Can some tell Jona that Nigerians want the trillions PDP and his govt have stolen over the years! He talked about the development of a modern FCT in Abuja. I guess you have been to Abuja? Lots of investments in Power Projects with about 15 Power Plants added. I promise you improved power supply soon. 12 brand new universities and about 16 University Teaching hospitals have been built. Pay a visit to the permanent sites of University Teaching hospital Zaria, Port Harcourt, Jos, Maiduguri, Calabar, Kano, Ilorin, Abakaliki, etc Our roads have never been this good. In your mischievous mind, you preferred to present your own list. |
Maidoki14: An boko haram? No! Boko Haram is Buhari's legacy in partnership with APC governors of Yobe and Borno states but GEJ will deal with them. Already, Shekau is gone and more will follow |
Says Critics deliberately turn blind eye to PDP's huge Achievements for selfish reasons President Goodluck Jonathan at the weekend said that despite the refusal of opposition parties to acknowledge the achievements of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party has kept the promise of transforming the country. The President said this at the party’s Special Convention held at the Eagles Square, Abuja adding that the PDP is the only party that has retained its identity since three parties were registered in 1998. He reiterated the fact that PDP is the only party that is not aligned to any ethic, religious or regional interest. He further added that other parties have imploded along the way or subsumed their identity in search of political direction and relevance. He said PDP is not just the party of the present, but it is the party of the future, adding it does not fight destitutes but destitution. The President said the PDP has remained a strong fortress of hope for Nigerians but has remained focus on building a greater Nigeria. President Jonathan listed some of the achievements of the PDP in the various sector of the economy in the telecoms, agriculture, aviation, transportation, roads, water resources, education among others. The President said, “The process of building and enduring political institution is difficult, thankless but ultimately rewarding. “We are gathered here at Eagles Square to uphold our tested values of our great party internal democratic culture as well as chart a new course and way forward for our party. “Our great party which is widely acclaimed as the biggest in Africa, is the only Nigerian party that has been growing in leaps and bounds. It is the only Nigerian party that is not aligned to any ethnic, religious or regional interest. It is the only party that is collectively owned by Nigerians. We are very proud of our heritage and we will never betray the trust that the majority of Nigerians reposed in us. “The PDP is the party for patriots, for those who for partisan reasons continue to deny or feign ignorance of the progress Nigeria has made under the PDP leadership listen to me. “Telephone penetration has grown from 400,000 in 1999 before the PDP came on board to over 120 million today. Our telecom sector has grown to be the biggest in Africa and one of the fastest growing in the world providing jobs for millions of Nigerians and creating a new generation of successful entrepreneurs and industrialists. “The reforms in our communication sector are fuelling the boom in new media and supporting the development of our country. These are facts are critics never want to acknowledge. “Under the PDP our banking sector has flourish. The branch network has grown tremendously, more branches means more assets. Our financial services are more jobs. Recapitlisation has grown in phenomenal proportion and so are the assets and loan portfolios. And the systemic crisis that use to consume banks and depressed depositors have been well managed. Before this time, banks will collapse and some people will even commit suicide because they will take community and club money and put in their accounts and when banks collapsed and they have money to pay they commit suicide. From the beginning of PDP administration that is over. “We now have a stable and healthy banking sector. Our banks are establishing branches all over the world, global markets are now very receptive to them. The crisis that rocked the capital market has been effectively addressed. The market is booming again. These are facts are critics never wish to acknowledge. “Under the PDP our the education system has been undergoing a progressive revival after decades of neglect. Primary school enrolment figures are growing, a clear indication of the success of the universal basic education programme initiated by the federal government. We have built over 120 Almajiri schools to take our children off the streets and give them a future. We are to build 300 more of such schools. We have launched back to school programme that are returning children back to school. “The number of public and private universities have increased, providing opportunities for millions of young Nigerians who would have been derived of opportunity of university education owing to limited opportunities in existing ones. To deepen our federalism and access to quality education, we have established nine new Federal universities in the northern party of the country and three in the southern part of the country in states where no federal universities previously existed. We have kept our promise these are facts our critics never wish to acknowledged. “Our federal capital city, Abuja is undergoing transformation with the provision of improved infrastructure and services. The impressive road networks, new districts and the coming monorail line, all are to make Abuja a source of pride to all Nigerians. And of course this is being commended by our visitors both local and foreigners. “Our believe that our critics don’t come into Abuja through our airport, they would seen the airport road. If they drive round Abuja, they would have seen the outter lanes and others. We have changed the face of Abuja. “Under the PDP government we have embarked on massive infrastructural development that all the geo-political zones are being linked up and people are acknowledging that driving across the country is now less painful. Though we are yet to get to where we want to, surely PDP will lead Nigeria to where we want to go. “Great progress has been made in the rehabilitation and the reconstruction of the Kano-Maiduguri express way, Abuja-Lokoja express way, Ontisha- Owerri express way and the Benin-Shagamu express way. |
As usual, APC keeps winning on internet while PDP win on the ballot. Bunch of empty noisemakers. |
gregg2: False news only from chronic liers belonging to a lying party that is headed by some of Nigeria's worst 419ers and terrorists. How this trash from no known source suddenly made it to the front page with a very lavish title is even a suspect. For whoever care to know the truth, PDP won Offa council Chair and all the councillorship positions.I pity those miserable APC cockroaches on nairaland |
Prof. I disagree. He will contest and still remain a hero |
"Fresh Air" should be the name of the new airline. Surely, we will get there as a nation. Ethiopian Airlines has occupied Africa's top spot as number one airline closely followed by Kenya Airways and South Africa Airways but I think given our size and resources though untapped this new baby will make a statement in Africa and beyond very soon. |
OP I think Aliyu is well read |
Thank you so very much OP for bringing up this topic. I have since done a research of my own on this and realised ever since that this country is VERY POOR expecially when compared to even other African countries. I simply laugh at the ignorance of some critics who think their govt can provide them with e everything - stable power supply in snap of the fingers or provide them with a network of ten lane expressways crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country. Where is the money? You cannot give what you don't have. 27 billion dollars for a country of 170 million is laughable whereas, Saudi Arabia with a population of 28 million budgets 250 billion dollars.New York, a state in the US is richer than Nigeria about three times. Fine, I agree even the little we have is pilfered away through corruption but corruption is not peculiar to Nigeria neither can it be eliminated. We are poor and cannot have such state of the art infrastructure we desire in a giffy. |
So for 14yrs these criminals could not equip a single hospital for knee surgery. Common knee surgery! |
luvinhubby: So Achike Udenwa is also a `progressive`, this people are worse than PDP if Achike is also a member.Even, Bashir Tofa, Buhari, Bisi Akande, Audu Ogbe etc are all "progressives" |
. . . and how many Megawatts did Bisi Akande add as governor of Osun? These clowns are making mockery of themselves again. He he he he he he . . . |
Did they mean 40,000 bombs for their boys in Yobe and Borno? The last I checked, only PDP states of Akwa Ibom and Rivers are generating and adding to the national greed. |
donpetros: Hmmn Another seven point agenda. The last time we had it, our president died in power. abeg ooo APC una won kill Buhari abiReally reminds me of the YarAdua seven Point agenda. APC is a bunch of loosers. |
