PoliticsRe: FEC Approves N124bn For Reconstruction Of Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, Four Others by Goddex: 6:53am On Aug 22, 2013
enyice: Perhaps, you should have asked how long it took to complete Onitsha - Owerri exp way, how long its taking to complete Owerri - PH exp way...

I dont know the reasons yet until an expert enlightens us why it takes so long to complete roads these days.
Answer to your question: No money. For instance, about 75% of Nigeria's 4.5 trillion naira 2013 budget goes into the payment of salaries and overheads of government workers. The remaining 25% will not be enough to provide you with capita projects such as world class roads, Universities, airports, Hospitals, railways, Power Plants, etc etc etc. The Federal Ministry of works own share in the budget is just about 130 billion naira. You will agree this amount can hardly maintain the network of roads in Abuja let alone the entire country. So, the little resources will be spread thinly over several years. Remember, to add salt to injury, even ASUU are still asking for an additional 100 billion naira as salaries which some ignorant folks support. Teaching Hospitals workers are about commencing their own agitation also. What this means is that the capital vote will be depleted further in favour of salaries of FG workers.

PoliticsRe: ASUU Strike: Selfish Or General Interest? by Goddex: 4:04pm On Aug 20, 2013
Demdem: General interest.
Bloody Hypocrites. General interest my asss, for a body that is fighting for their pockets. Close to a 100 billion naira annually should be added to an already bloated recurrent expenditure of our budget and you call that General Interest, how? Keep loosing your sence of reasoning all because you see the strike as an opportunity to criticize Federal govt, abi?
PoliticsRe: List Of Redeployed Commissioners Of Police by Goddex: 7:11am On Aug 20, 2013
Mbu, that some of you ignorant peeps rant your tongue about is a core professional. The IG knows this. Ameachi is sponsoring a propaganda for his sack because Mbu refused to do his bidding on the Rivers State PDP chairmanship issue which Mbu instead opted to implement a court order. Ameachi had directed Mbu not to implement a court ruling replacing the PDP chairman in the state which Mbu refused.

PoliticsRe: Conservative (PDP ) Vs Progressive (APC) Where Do You Stand by Goddex: 7:45pm On Aug 19, 2013
Obiagelli: When did Okorocha join the APC ? Besides the apc is new and just gaining its foot but the Acn had a clear ideology and same for the pdp
Ok, let us understand you then. Are you recommending such ideologies to the two parties because your post sounded like conclusions drawn from their manifestos? That made me wondered how progressive Bashir Tofa, Buhari, Ahmed Yerima etc are.
PoliticsRe: Conservative (PDP ) Vs Progressive (APC) Where Do You Stand by Goddex: 7:30pm On Aug 19, 2013
So, Rochas Okorocha that claims to provide free education, feed shool children, lower taxes and other welfare programmes, where does he belong? My sister, such ideological leaning don't apply in Nigeria. The chief Executive irrespective of party decides to act conservative or progressive. Sometimes, the corrupt nature of the godfathers (as in Lagos Tinubu) determines the policies put in place.
PoliticsRe: Conservative (PDP ) Vs Progressive (APC) Where Do You Stand by Goddex: 6:32pm On Aug 19, 2013
Political parties in Nigeria are not based on ideology. I honestly wish they were.
In what way are govs Chime of Enugu, Wada of Kogi, Donald Duke of Cross River, Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Suswan of Benue, Lamido of Jigawa, Ameachi of Rivers etc conservative?

It is even dump to assume that Ajumobi of Oyo, Amosun of Ogun, Zamfara govt, Yobe govt, Borno govt, Nasarawa govt are progressives, how? How Progressive are Buhari, Achike Udenwa, Ahmed Yerima, Tom Ikimi, Bashir Tofa etc. Tinubu and Bisi Akande were among the worst governors in their time. Abegi, tell me something else.
SportsRe: FIFA Approves Calabar Stadium For Nigeria, Malawi Qualifier by Goddex: 6:08pm On Aug 19, 2013
This Malawi don't have an Embassy in Nigeria? Why didn't they confirm from their Embassy in Nigeria first before demonstrating their ignorance of Nigeria to FIFA.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan, Others Seal Turkur’s Fate At Secret Abuja Meeting by Goddex: 3:32pm On Aug 18, 2013
Punch lie a lot. Somebody posted these observations and I began to wonder the crap these media sell to us:

So you believe this junk from Punch? Did you read this to ask yourself how this news story was fabricated?

1) Our correspondents’ efforts to reach the politicians and government officials said to  be at the meeting were not successful.

2) A telephone call placed to Orubebe’s mobile telephone line indicated that it was switched off or in an area outside network coverage. Also, Orubebe did not respond to a text message later sent to him on the issue.

3) Several calls and text messages to the Special Assistant (Media and Communication) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Sam Nwaobasi, were also not replied.

4) Efforts made to speak with the media aide of Tukur, Mr. Oliver Okpala, on Friday, were not successful. Okpala, neither picked calls made to his mobile telephone nor responded to an SMS sent to him.

5) The party’s spokesman, Mr. Tony Okeke, also neither picked his calls nor responded to an SMS sent to him on Friday and Saturday.

6) Similarly, the Presidency kept mum on the Thursday meeting. Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, declined commenting on the meeting.

. . . a Buhari and Tinubu party rule over Anambra? . . . then start awarding 1KM road for 1 billion naira. . . then use part of the inflated percentage to oil the two godfathers' political machineries in Kaduna/Katsina and Lagos respectively. . . then use another part to settle the boys in Borno and Yobe to manufacture more bombs to kill more Igbo sons and daughters living in northern Nigeria. This should not even be imagined.

Everthing about LASG is media hype and propaganda.

Apart from the huge IGR and federal allocation, I hear it will take Lagos 60 yrs to pay off foreign and domestic debts that these APC criminals have acquired in the last 14 yrs.

I repeat, that woman is obviously pressured by these APC rascals to come out and criticize FG because of the meagre assistance they render to her family. They do a similar thing to Fela Kuti family too
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Must Be Defeated In 2015 —gani’s Wife by Goddex: 6:41pm On Aug 15, 2013
The old woman reads too much of Punch and The Nation Newspapers. Besides, she is obviously pressured by those APC rascals to criticize FG because of the peanuts assistance they render to her family. Ma'am, A lot is actually happening in our Airports, Food/Agriculture, Roads, economy, railway, Power etc. I respect her husband even unto death and so will not say any negative word about her.

PoliticsCross River Replies Malawi FA by Goddex(op):
Sports authorities in Cross River State have reacted to the protest lodged by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to FIFA demanding that the venue for the 2014 World Cup qualifying match with the Super Eagles billed for September 7 be moved from Calabar to another venue for security reasons.

FAM, in a statement signed by FAM CEO, Sugzo Nyirenda protested that Calabar is a security risk and that Malawi wants to avoid playing the match in Calabar. They would prefer Abuja or Lagos, he said.

But in a swift reaction, Cross River State Commissioner for Sports, Patrick Ugbe has dismissed FAM’s claims, saying the protest only exposed Malawi’s ignorance about Nigeria.

Ugbe, who spoke to journalists in Calabar on Tuesday on the protest said: ”We have a track record of hosting the national team matches and we have been doing that since last year.

“And we are ready again to do it even though we understand that Malawi protested to FIFA that they don’t want to come to Calabar. This is the final match of the group qualifiers.

“I personally believe that it is because they know that the Eagles has never lost a match in Calabar. It has won all its matches in Calabar and the Malawians know that it will be a tough match for them.

“They need an outright victory while Nigeria needs at least a draw in that match for us to proceed to the next stage. So, I guess it is fear that made them to protest to FIFA having followed the Eagles’ matches and knowing that they have done so well in Calabar.

“They are citing security reasons and it shows that they have a poor knowledge of Nigeria because if they had a good knowledge of Nigeria, they would have been asking FIFA to bring the match to Calabar because this is where they will be safest in the country.”

Ugbe blamed incidences such as FAM’s protest for the continent’s poor development of the round leather game.

“They are playing mind games with the national team. This is why African football has refused to grow beyond where it is at the moment. You cannot find European countries protesting about where they are going to play a match.

“They rather prepare, play the match and win or loss, whatever is the verdict of the game. It is just mind game as I see it,” Ugbe concluded.

PoliticsRe: Lagos Drags Al-mustapha To Supreme Court Over Kudirat's Murder by Goddex: 7:45pm On Aug 13, 2013
This is unnecessary. Waste of Lagos taxpayers money. Was Kudirat an official of the LASG at the time of her death? Her family announced publicly they had forgiven Al-Mustafa so, why should LASG be taking panadol for another man's headache? The prosecution team will fail again. Simple NGF chairmanship saga they could not prosecute and had to withdraw the case. Fashola is fun of rushing to the courts only to appear helpless mid-way. His legal practice is becoming questionable.
