“To Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, this is the time to wear your thinking cap and beat a retreat fast. There is no need squabbling with the President, because it is a battle you cannot win. The office of the President of Nigeria carries enormous powers, and when these powers are evoked it crushes anybody in its trail. You should not look at the President as a former deputy governor and vice president. Level has changed. He is now the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has an unfathomable capacity to make life miserable for you. Forget all the noise your supporters are making: they will desert you the moment you cease to be governor. From the support you have received from the state legislature, members of the National Assembly from your state and other groups, it is certain you are liked and very popular. But that is so long you remain the governor and control tangible financial resources. Bear in mind that the forces massed against you are formidable..Your priority should be to leave lasting legacies for which generations unborn will remember you. That being the case, you should choose between your personal interest and that of the Rivers State people. They accuse you of harbouring a vice-presidential ambition. Though there is nothing wrong in that. Nonetheless, you should dump that if it makes some people uncomfortable. Think about your future, safety of your family and the welfare of the people of Rivers State who would be collaterally affected should anything untoward happen to you. God forbid! God has been gracious to you – raising you from grass to grace. You had been a councillor in Port Harcourt[correction, mine], Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly during the tenure of Peter Odili as governor, and now a two-term governor. What else do you want? If it is the will of God you would be vice president or president, nobody can stop you. They said you contested for a second term as chairman of NGF against your party’s directive. If that is true, then, it was wrong. So long you remain a PDP governor you must subject yourself to your party’s directive. If you want to do things your own way the proper thing to do is to found your own party or resign from PDP. Your suspension is a prelude to a stiffer action against you, which you may find unpalatable. As your name ‘Chibuike’ (God is my strength) goes, all will be well with you if you hearken to the voice of reason. God will desert you the moment you fail to listen to the small still voice..Now to those that fuel the crisis in Rivers State: You should search your conscience and desist from fomenting trouble. If you love President Jonathan as you openly profess then you have a responsibility to make him succeed. And one of the ways to attain this objective is to make peace between him and his perceived adversaries. You should, for once, bury your selfishness and work for peace in Rivers State. Let me make it very clear: the crisis in Rivers State will not lead to the victory for either President Jonathan or Governor Amaechi or their teeming supporters; rather it will end up tearing the entire nation apart, because those involved in the fight are too powerful and connected to be ignored, and their tentacles stretch to as far as Damataru and Jigawa in the north, Lagos and Ogbomosho in the west, Abakaliki and Awka in the east, and Calabar and Yenagoa in the in the south. I rest my case and pray God to intervene in his own way. Your brother, Orji Uzor Kalu Source: http://212breakingnews..com/2013/07/2015-election-orji-kalus-frank-letter.html

tokunboh: ComedyLaughable. Bunch of jokers |
.. . . and Soyinka keeps disgracing himself. |
Ameachi is doing himself more harm than good by importing these northern governors to Rivers State. I know Rivers state and by extension Niger Delta very well. It won't help him in any way. The visit would instead worsen things for him at home. I just wish he would listen to the advice from Orji Kalu and Yinka Odumakin and ignore these APC charlatans and frustrated PDP governors. |
Orji Kalu is perhaps talking from experience. I wish Ameachi would listen. Unlike Soyinka and Tinubu, Yinka Odumakin was one other guy that gave him such spirited advice from the heart. I just wish Ameachi would ignore these "Awusa" governors and APC mischief makers that are deceiving him. I just wish this guy would listen to the voice of wisdom. Ameachi, please listen to your conscience! |
Hehehehehe . . . strange how my South West APC politicians (Liar Muhammed & Tinubu)are crying more than the bereaved. |
The likes of Tinubu are the type deceiving Ameachi and aggravating this crises while doing everything to bring Jonathan in. They won't tell Ameachi the truth. Yinka Odumakin offered the best advice to Ameachi to either reconcile with his party or defect to another party but warning him that even the opposition (including Tinubu) that seems to support him today will likely treat him worse if he dare put up this kind of attitude. |
From The Nation Newspaper, Tinubu and APC mouthpiece ? From The Nation Newspaper, Tinubu and APC mouthpiece? From The Nation Newspaper, Tinubu and APC mouthpiece? From The Nation Newspaper, Tinubu and APC mouthpiece? From The Nation Newspaper, Tinubu and APC mouthpiece? However, eventhough the disgusting newspaper is known for biased reportage, from the video, Chidi Loyds and that Policeman (I don't know but I hear he is Ameachi's orderly) should be arrested immediately, prosecuted and put behind bars. This stupid good-for-nothing (except for Akara) newspaper should desist from trying to justify such wicked aggression by Chidi Loyds on his fellow member as "acting in self defense " |
How evil minded APC crooks cook up lies just to paint a government black is now top on the agenda. What beats me again is how such shameless lies fly direct to nairaland homepage. Transparency International is yet to release its 2013 CPI. Shame on liar Muhammed, Tinubu, Buhari, Sahara Reporters, Premiumtimes, Punch newspaper, The Nation, Hell Rufai, and all you APC agents of deceit and mischief on nairaland. Jonathan will keep disgracing all of you. Here is Transparency International website http://www.transparency.org/research/cpi/overview |
This is just the beginning. First it was the 2011 ACN gubernatorial aspirant in Nasarawa state, then another ACN leader and gubernatorial aspirant in Rivers state, and then the ACN national treasurer, again the Imo state ANPP Chairman and his executives. The handwriting is on the wall. The Boko Haram party is dead on arrival. Gradually, the wise ones are leaving the evil fold one after the other. We shall see in 2015. |
take dat: The same undemocratic proclivity of Tinubu got him a house of rep seat, and he his also a product of imposition. Nigerian political parties are Turn by Turn Nig Ltd, Bamidele should also wait for his turn, after all, some people stepped-down for this Lagos politician turn Ekiti lawmaker! They are all hypocrites! And you and your APC masters are the biggest hypocrites. You ask Bamidele to wait for his turn while justifying why Ameachi can challenge Jonathan. You guys keep exposing yourselves. |
It is stupid for Aregbesola to stay away from NEC meetings and other meetings that will bring development to the good people of Osun state. Nobody is an Island. Funny still is how Osun Defender newsletter feels we should celebrate Aregbesola for this arrogance. Aregbesola is just daft. I don't want to believe the mental/Psychiatric problem issue some Indigenes of Osun accused him of last time but let him just learn from Mimiko. As an opposition governor of a state, no matter the political differences with the FG, you shove it aside at least in the interest of the entire state. Now, Dangote plans to site his almost 1 trillion naira refinery investment in Ondo state. Does anyone think the FG does not have a hand in the permutations that finally influenced the location of that refinery in Ondo state? Just last month, General Electric started work on a multi billion naira plant in Calabar. Only a fool will think that the location of such key industries happen by chance. By the way, what big investment has Aregbesola attracted to Osun state since he became governor? Like Mimiko, Peter Obi has a lot to show for his closeness to the center - the Onitsha Port, many federal road projects, ecological fund, oil producing status, SAB Miller Brewery, second Niger Bridge etc etc |
Why should I take this rubbish from Osun defender serious? |
But seriously, would anyone ever vote Tinubu as Nigeria's President or Vice President? Just thinking aloud. |
noblezone: The Onitsha Owerri road, was put up for bid, a company CCC and Julius Berger were among the strong contenders. Berger#s quote was 5 times bigger than that of the CCC. CCC was awarded the contract, South East leaders kicked against it.Musiwa is most likely referring to the Lagos - Ibadan expressway but forgetting to note that apart from the fact that inflation would have set in, the road now is expanded to six lanes upto Sagamu with about four flyovers and several pedestrian bridges |

He comes across as an elderly Yoruba man. There is wisdom in some of his threads. . |
No past president ever demonstrated such political will to develop the country's infrastructure as the current GEJ leadership. By 2015, Nigerians will have no option than to queue behind him again to continue the good work. |
Fresh Air everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! Fresh Air everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! Fresh Air everywhere!!!!!!!!!!! GEJ keeps shaming all these APC e-rats noisemakers. Somebody should tell Fashola to provide Lagosians with pipe borne water first and halt all those ego-boosting, chest beating and white elephant projects such as the Airport and Seaport. Those projects cannot be given preference in a city where inhabitants depend on "Pure" water, MaiRuwa, Well water and shallow boreholes. The two FG owned Airports and the three FG owned seaports are serving us well at least in the meantime. Run pipes all around Lagos and pump water to the neighbourhoods! What are the masses also gaining from these Alausa fraud stars sef? |
taharqa2: Really?? I know of d Abuja-Airport Rd, but neva knew d Abuja-Zuba Rd is a 10-lane expressway. What is its state presently?Fully completed with several bridges and awaiting commissioning. Those two roads are now the best roads in Nigeria. But I also love those snake-like roads and bridges around Third mainland. Gowon and IBB did some great work there. |
Sincere 9gerian: The road will be 10-lane from Lagos to Sagamu, with fly-over around the area where we have churches.Nice one. Let the GEJ government again teach our Alausa ACN noisemakers how to construct a 10 lane expressway. The 10 lane Abuja - Zuba expressway and the 10 lane Abuja - Airport expressways have been delivered and are awaiting commissioning. Meanwhile, the 10 lane Lagos - Badagry that the fraud stars in Alausa rushed to take over from FG because of greed for toll fees is almost being abandonded. |
But my friend told me last month that his wife benefited from the GoodLuck Jonathan scholarship award during her NYSC and is now doing a post graduate programme in UK. So which award is that one? Let me call him first for clarification, I'll be back. |
@Rossikk Those pictures are lovely. GEJ is working. Nigeria is working. |
Obiagelli: I hope this one at least makes the front Page, so much info in here, i have always wondered why non indegenes praise akpabio more than those that reside in the state.Indigenes praise him twenty times more. Obong Attah is just a bitter looser since Akpabio outshine him. Although, credit still go to him for the resource control battle that led to 13% derivation leading to Akwa Ibom earning more from Federal Allocation but in terms of development strides in the state Akpabio has outshine him by several miles. |
PUNCH is becoming so annoying these days. It's pathetic how a once nationally acclaimed newspaper gradually turns itself to an APC newsletter. |
Mogidi: The signs were there already.Bros! my ribs!! I'm rolling on the ground with laughter |
Election time for Ekiti state is near na so it is normal for Fayemi to start selling propaganda. |
The article claims that tertiary health facilities is the exclusive preserve of FG while secondary health facilities is for states and primary for LGA's. But in almost all the states in Nigeria we have primary health centers built by either states govt's or FG's. States govt's are also investing in Teaching Hospitals for their state owned universities eg LASU teaching hospital here in Lagos. The writer's arguments really don't make sense. |
Bad belle people |
Stale news. This story is four years old and happened in May 2010. Fashola has not commissioned any new project in that axis in recent times. A big shame on our moderators if you guys cannot make little effort to verify some junks overzealous Paid APC fanatics put up here before moving them to the homepage. Afam4eva, OAM4J and Sexkillz you guys should stop toying with nairaland. We burn megabytes everyday to support this forum to grow from strength to strength. Whoever wants to play APC politics should resign as moderator forthwith. Enough of this rubbish. Lagosians do not have the commonest of the most basic things of life like pipe borne water yet you guys resurrect decade old trash about these fraud stars at Alausa and move them straight to the front page. |
Ameachi looks like a "Witch" on the third picture, lol. |
Mazi_Omenuko: Amaechi aucted wise. The president landed at PH before going down to Bayelsa, so its customary that the state gov has to receive him and, all things being equal, accompany him to Bayelsa. Since GEJ is acting like nothing is going wrong between him and amaechi, it is still wise for amaechi to act like the relationship is not strained and go on with his requirements as a state govnor. And you think Ameachi just showed up from the blues without GEJ, Wike and the protocol getting to know about it? Poor analysis. |
