It's a nice joke bros. I'm laughing here and rolling on the floor |
Ebonyi is ignorantly underrated even here on nairaland. The capital Abakaliki is a lot better than most state capitals I have been to. Their expansive rice mill complex is a wonder to behold. The quality of private buildings dotting the city is another site attraction. They have good dual carriageways criss-crossing the entire city. The last time I drove past there, the Federal Government was completing dualisation of the Spera-in-due heading Ezamgbo and also the Spera-in-due heading Ogoja axis. Their big setback are the Ezza and Izzi. Apart from their timid lifestyle the people are so engrossed in the traditional farming practices and love war like the way a Calabar man like dog meat. |
The roads are getting a lot better. Let us monitor the Power road map till say September next year and see how the private owners can deliver. |
Atiku Abubakar said a similar thing some years back. He danced around the Nigerian political arena unclad but later returned back to the same PDP. It's your turn now Oga Nyako, to test the water elsewhere. See you, when you return. |
APC and their sponsored media outfits (Sahara, Punch, The Nation, Premiumtimes etc) should cover their faces in shame. It is a pity how the craze for federal power has turned all of them to shameless liars. |
Sunny_bobo: GEJ's full names are Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan. Ebelemi is an Ijaw name and he shortened it to Ebele.OP just woke up from sleep to formulated such a big lie. You now see the caliber of opposition we have in Nigeria? Opposition that thrive on lies. |
Prof is asking PEJ to copy from michelle Obama and I stand bold to say Prof is not in tune with American politics. Obama's wife is receiving her own doses of such politically motivated criticisms. She is criticized from all corners from her "expensive" trip to spain to even minor issues like her dress sense. Infact, she is being nicknamed a "wannabe celebrity". It is not easy being the wife of a President in a Presidential system of government and I expect our amiable Prof Wole Soyinka to know this because often, the opposition see the wife as a prey to attack the president himself. That is exactly what is happening in Nigeria. |
Ameachi will need to try "Tinubu" and "Buhari" if he needs a definition of "One Man Show". It's obviously high time he decamped. |
phrancys001: Gov Dickson! Dicking her already. Hahahahahaha. But it's a good one sha. Congratulations Anna. |
kehinde1588: This yinka must have smoked before the write up..."corruption in ACN is worst than PDP"but i can see ACN govts performing well than thier counterparts. I guess he has moved to PDPACN governors only have loud mouths and have bought over the Lagos media. They are not performing. |
Garri the 1st: Why are Nigerian women silent even as a few men scheme to ensure that the future of female children in the Northern part of the country is sacrificed on the altar of their barbaric lustful desires??@Garri the 1st First time you post something reasonable on nairaland. |
Thank God you have abandoned that blood thirsty baboon. |
While I can't wait to see him being kicked out of the party, due process must be followed. The case I understand is in court and the law should rule. By the way, why is the Nigerian media portraying Obuh led PDP exco as a faction? The court ruled in Obuh's favour and he was duly sworn in. PDP national, INEC and the rest recognise him as Chairman. The Ameachi's own "PDP" chairman who does he preside over? Or when was the last time he represented Rivers PDP in any meeting? |
unlessgod: Pro-Amaechi Youth Mobilise in VainSo, Ameachi's commissioner for Agriculture and the Ikwerre LGA chairman are still youths, ehn? Whatever, the only set of people supporting Ameachi in Rivers state are these set of people - looters of the Rivers state wealth. |
marialucia: Which Statement Hurts Most in a Relationship?3 & 5 will hurt me most |
emiye: East-west road is 1500km ?I think, East - West Road will be like five times the distance of Lagos - Ibadan but with a very bad terrain and involving several bridges. The road starts in Delta cutting across Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, Akwa Ibom and terminates in Cross River. On the topic, we have several Shameless hypocrites on nairaland - the likes of Gbawe. His paymasters are sucking us dry in the South West while bombarding us with loads of propaganda. Odumakin is not even the first to raise alarm. When Bode George cried out, in their usual diversionary tactics they called him names. Pastor Tunde Back also cried out and they put a call through to Buhari to help appeal to Bakare not to wash their dirty linens in public. They have bought over the media to spew lies to the public. South West is being held bondage by these fraud stars. |
domcarez: I stil ask again, why is this not on the front page? Is it because it doesn't favour APC? ....its so pathetic that journalism in Nigeria has become partisan, if it is something that portrays GEJ in bad light it wud av made front page,...@seun we are observing o...That is the hypocrisy of our nairaland moderators |
simply_me: PDP lambasts CPC for distancing Buhari from Odumakin •Borno bishop warns him against reckless statementThe bolded |
Is Nyako still in PDP? |
Sincere 9gerian: Thats because I luv discussing DEVELOPMENT, not quarrels among politicians. They have cautioned him not to talk much again. You know the gorrilla-voice Bokoharamist keeps spewing rubbish in public. |
Bunch of jobless losers. They made it a surprised visit else. .I trust Rivers state youths. |
homesteady: Na wa oh!! After preaching in a Ramadam lecture, he started beating war drums!!They are still hungry for more blood. They are not satisfied with those of innocent corps members and church members they have killed so far. |
Peinstein: If you have good information on official presidential protocol kindly share it, that would seem more logical. YarAdua was not the global epitome of presidential protocol and doesn't justify Goodluck's approach. Comparing two wrong people doesn't make any of them right. Then, what about Obama? He also posted pictures of Mitchell Obama disembarking before her husband. Hello!!! Mr. Fault Finder, what do you even know about official protocol? |
What's this lying prophet of doom talking about. For your information, Mr Liar Muhammed, nothing is going to happen. 2015 will come and pass like every other election year with Goodluck Ebele Jonathan carrying the day. |
Our biased moderators are killing nairaland gradually. How come this thread with only two posts immediately fly to the frontpage? How come every thread that tend to support the aspiration of APC immediately hit the frontpage? You guys will be disappointed in 2015 |
@OP Why will Federal Secretariat be reconstructed by Abia State? not getting it . . . However, kudos to Abia governor. |
The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, has distanced witself from comments by Yinka Odumakin who recently condemned the governors elected on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN for being corrupt. It would be recalled that Odumakin, who happens to be Buhari's spokesman said as follows; “Between 1999 and now, I’ve related at close quarters with most actors in the Yoruba political space at close quarters and I know the weaknesses and strengths of all. “I can tell you authoritatively that the most dangerous and terrible tendency in Yoruba politics is the house of deceit that Tinubu represents. “Only those who have sold their souls will ignore this fact … There has never been any such greedy bunch in our nation- not under “Demo” or even PDP. “I took Akala before EFCC in 2010 for awarding roads at N50m per km in all the LGs in Oyo state. Today your Asiwaju is collecting N1b per km across South West. “When Tinubu turned “60″ ACN states contributed N1b for a bash, nobody tried that in Yorubaland before. “Chief Adebanjo was chairman of AD in 1999 and not one relation of his got a ticket unlike your Tinubu whose wife is a senator, son in law a Rep, Sister in law a House member in Lagos and daughter now Iyaloja via imposition . “Your grouse with the old men may be for reasons you have not stated but you know they are far more honorable than a million Bola Tinubu.” Odumakin had also courageously asked the River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who is having a romance with the ACN to either defect to the opposition or reconcile with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Odumakin had said “We think he is the cause of some of these crises. If he wants to defect to the opposition, let him do so. He cannot continue to use the platform of PDP to hold the party to ransom and think there will be no crisis. Most of the people who are supporting him from the opposition will not tolerate this kind behaviour from any of their members.” But the CPC seeking to salvage its already fledgling merger with the ACN governors haS taken offense with Odumakin's statement and have released their own statement condemning him. The party said; "ACN GOVERNORS: Odumakin’s views are not Buhari’s!" Our attention has been drawn to a Nigerian Pilot newspaper story of Wednesday, July 17, 2013 captioned: ACN governors are corrupt – Buhari. In the story, the Newspaper’s correspondent, writing from Port-Harcourt in Rivers State, stated that Mr. Yinka Odumakin made the sweeping allegations. Therein, the Newspaper alluded to this statement by Mr. Yinka Odumakin as representing General Muhammadu Buhari’s. We wish to state categorically that nothing can be farther from the truth! As a matter of fact, Mr. Yinka Odumakin has not functioned as the spokesman for General Muhammadu Buhari since 2011, shortly after the disposal of the CPC’s Presidential petition at the Supreme Court! As a Party, we are not unaware of the mischief embedded in the reporting that was meant to achieve very politically capricious purposes. We do not know whose interests the reporters... and the Newspaper are serving. But let it be stated that, much as the said story was embarrassing to our amiable National leader, General Muhammadu Buhari, we wish to disabuse the minds of our friends, teeming supporters and merger partners that this hogwash was a cynical display of unprofessional journalism. For the umpteenth time, we hereby state that the views expressed in the story were Mr. Yinka Odumakin’s and not representing that of General Muhammadu Buhari. Our National leader, General Muhammadu Buhari, respected for nobility and enviable character traits, is far removed from the grotesque characterization of frivolity by the reporters of the Nigerian Pilot Newspapers. We advise the Management of the Nigerian Pilot Newspaper to be guided by enviable journalistic practice in future endeavours. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Rotimi Fashakin (Engr.) National Publicity Secretary, CPC. http://www.naijapundit.com/news/breaking-news-cpc-slams-odumakin-over-acn-corruption-accusation-say-he-does-not-speak-for-buhari |
. . . and Fashola goofed! |
Jang Opposes Move, insists case must go on Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Wednesday applied to withdraw the case he filed before an Abuja High Court, seeking to stop Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, from parading himself as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF). Wednesday, his lawyer, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), filed an application seeking the court's leave to withdraw the suit. In a motion on notice for withdrawal filed on Tuesday the Fashola sought leave of the court to withdraw the suit in order to enable him strategise and put his house in order. Though the motion had not been moved, it was however vehemently opposed by Governor Jang and two other defendants in the suit. Jang’s lawyer. Mr. Tayo Oyetibo (SAN), told the court that it was too late in the day for the governor to bring such a motion because parties had already joined issues by filing and exchanging necessary processes. Oyetibo submitted that the plaintiff had not given any cogent and verifiable reason for his dramatic u-turn to withdraw at a point the parties were fully ready to go ahead with hearing the case. Chief Paul Erokoro (SAN), standing for the third defendant in the suit, supported Oyetibo's position, as he said Fashola could not just apply to withdraw the case since both parties in the suit had formulated issues for determination by the court. Erokoro urged the trial judge, Justice Peter Affen, to dismiss the entire suit in order not to waste the precious time of the court. He argued that the case could not just be withdrawn because the defendants had filed their statements of defence and counter affidavits and served them on the plaintiff, following the issuance of originating summons on them. Erokoro insisted that the entire suit should be dismissed along with the motion for withdrawal. Justice Affen, however, asked the defendants to allow the plaintiff move his motion for withdrawal first after which they could argue against it. The motion was then adjourned till September 9 for hearing. Fashola had dragged his Plateau State counterpart before the court challenging his claim to the chairmanship of the NGF. His grouse was that Jang stood for an election along with his counterpart from Rivers State, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and lost with 16 votes to Amaechi’s 19. He, therefore, asked the court to bar and prohibit Jang from parading himself as the NGF chairman. But Jang in his defence, claimed that his chairmanship of the forum was in compliance with his endorsement in writing by majority of the governors and asked Justice Affen to strike out the suit against him. He said Fashola was neither a contestant in the election nor a member of the NGF trustees and challenged his locus standi to institute the action without the consent of other governors. Jang also claimed in his defence that Fashola did not disclose what he stood to lose and that his case did not disclose any reasonable cause of action and, therefore, should be dismissed. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/ngf-fashola-applies-to-withdraw-suit-against-jang/153648/

I remember exactly when GEJ flagged off commencement of construction work of that Housing estate in 2011. I remember how he smiled and joked that since the estate is named after him, he would surely deliver it in good time. Fresh air everywhere!!!!!!! |
