500b budget for Lagos is big if Fashola can tackle the high level level corruption and profligacy.

PoliticsRe: The Media Is An Opposition Dominated Industry by Goddex: 9:10am On Dec 05, 2012
Tinubu an individual acquired planes . . .
As usual, our bias press gave a blind eye but instead
are busy reporting planes bought by Rivers and Akwa Ibom state governments.
PoliticsRe: The Media Is An Opposition Dominated Industry by Goddex: 9:04am On Dec 05, 2012
koruji: Has anyone stopped Akwa Ibom or any other state from showing what they have?

You come here talking crap about the ACN controlled states, yet all of you are in Lagos, not Akwa Ibom.

Meanwhile, what is the population of Akwa Ibom vs. Lagos - 4 vs. 9 if you listen to the crappy NPC numbers, but you and I know that Lagos State host more than 15 million. Now, go and look at the distribution of revenues - see example below (Akwa Ibom gets 1/4 more revenue than Lagos).

Lastly, it is not a comparison with Akwa Ibom that we are after in the SW it is a comparison between the PDP era in our states and the era under ACN. The difference is clear as day. People of Osun don't live in Akwa Ibom, neither do the people of Lagos - they are praising those who have made THEIR LIVES BETTER, not those who make Akwa Ibomites lives better.

Besides, wasn't it Akpabio that described the opposition as a virus that cannot be allowed to exist going around intimidating his opponent, and so on.
Your Lagos that you praise so much is still one of three worst cities to live in on earth.
Interestingly, this is the same city your so-called progressive ACN have ruled for 13yrs.

jigawatts: FASHOLA no get jet oo.... I work in the aviation industry, Lagos State has 2 helicopters USED FOR Overhead police patrol and inter-state movements.
I think he meant Tinubu. Tinubu has planes.
PoliticsRe: The Media Is An Opposition Dominated Industry by Goddex: 8:46am On Dec 05, 2012
OP, you are very much on point.

Really, the Nigerian press are succeeding in brainwashing many
folks with their negative and mischievious reporting.
Have you ever wondered why people like Dayokanu alias Demdem,
Gbawe, Eko-Ile etc can never think straght again?

That Akwa Ibom governor has surpassed Fashola's performance by miles.
The likes of Oshiomole, Mimiko, Rochas and the other so-called progressives
have not performed one-fifth of what that guy has done for his state.

The Press is on a mission to paint anything PDP as bad and ACN as good.
But Nigerians know this.

Jarus, your replies make sense sha.

PoliticsRe: Fashola Inspects On-going Projects by Goddex:
ypzilanti: When has GEJ personally inspected anything he has signed for? Just signing out monies at every FEC meeting with no follow up and no inspections.
The ministers should carry out inspection.
This is the President you are talking about not governor.

Anyway, Fashola should provide pipeborne water to Lagosians.
Why are public taps not running in Lagos? Big shame!!! and one of
the reasons Lagos is considered the worst place to live in on earth.

Over 90% of Lagosians live on pure water, well water and shallow unhyginic borehole water.
PoliticsRe: Federal Govt, Stopped World Bank From Given More Loan To Lagos State Govt.. by Goddex:
Desola: because your family and that of those in abuja are in lagos. Lagos caters for you and the whole of Nigeria, that's why.
Desola is just one frustrated, timid, hipocritical, tribal and religious bigot.
You need travel out and gain some exposure.

Whose family is being catered for?
I pay tax of about 50,000 naira monthly to the Lagos state government, but provide myself with all the neccessary amenities.

Common pipeborne water, lagos state government cannot provide to its citizens. In some other Nigerian cities I have lived,
water runs freely and all the time.

PoliticsOrji Kalu Conversation With Mimiko – Paul Bassey by Goddex(op): 8:01am On Sep 25, 2012
Orji Kalu calls Mimiko – by Paul Bassey

Triiiiiinggg ( A phone rings )

ADC: ” Who is this ?”

Kalu: “ Ah my brother Mimiko, is it because I am no more in Government you have deleted my name from your phone?”

ADC: “ Sorry, please who is speaking? His Excellency is campaigning, the phone is not with him ?”

Kalu: “ I see, who are you?”

ADC: “ I am the ADC sir. Please who should I say called?”

Kalu: “ OK tell him Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State. He should call me when he is free”

ADC: Ok Sir. I will sir.

Triiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggg ( A phone rings)

Kalu: “Mimiko……Mimiko….How was the campaign?”

Mimiko: “The great Kalu. Ebubedike…. My brother I envy you. All this campaign and politics wahala are no more your portion. where are you calling from? ”

Kalu: (Laughter) “…..Tell your people that you have done well. All those challenging you should relax and wait for their turn. They should not stress you ooooo” (laughter)

Mimiko: “ You again. I wish it was that easy. A lot of people just turn deaf ears. They are not interested whether you are doing well or not. Theirs is just to get you out. ..How now, was surprised when I heard that you called. Hope all is well? Are you in Nigeria?”

Kalu: “Where else will I be? I am in Niger. Just as you said, I am enjoying so much peace and just de siddon look. My brother I called to congratulate you on Sunshine Stars and their qualification for the semi final of the prestigious CAF Champions League”.

Mimiko: “ Kalu…Kalu…I should have guessed. You and football. Thank you very much”

Kalu: “ Last year, when Sunshine played to the semi final of the CAF Confederation Cup it was my wish to come but I was out of the country. I am glad that they have proven their worth again this year by qualifying for the semi final of a superior competition. Have you invited Jonathan to the match”?

Mimiko: “You mean Mr President?”

Kalu: “Yes. I was so delighted when I saw him visiting The Super Eagles with such a powerful delegation that included his Vice, top ministers and some governors. As the Governor with the only surviving team in the continent, you should have been in that entourage”

Mimiko: “I never thought along those lines. If I invite him, do you think he will come?”

Kalu: “My friend go ahead and invite him first. You may be shocked. Even if he does not come he may send his Vice or the sports minister. Did you see his anger when we came back from the Olympics without a medal? He followed it up by receiving the paralympians with instant national honours in tow. That is the spirit that is now flowing through the land.
Sunshine Stars is the only Nigerian club remaining in the continent and for them to get to the semi final is no mean feat, to the glory of Ondo State and Nigeria. invite the Senate President. that one is crazy about sports”

Mimiko: “Do you know I never looked at it from that angle? This election thing has taken so much of my time and energy…”

Kalu: “But Sunshine Stars should be a cardinal part of your campaign. With Enyimba I could walk the streets of Aba without security. Use Sunshine as a campaign tool. Let your people know how you have empowered the youth and promoted sports to the point that your state club is considered one of the best in Africa today, with just a few years of their formation. My brother you are on the threshold of history.”

Mimiko: “ You cannot be far from the truth. Meanwhile we are playing the dreaded Al Ahly from Egypt. With all your knowledge, do you think we have a chance?”

Kalu: “Lots and lots of chances. You must have heard how I was always sitting on the bench and those coaches thought they were the ones that won the matches. My brother, I know what I did. Visit the players, liaise with them directly find out what they need or lack, psyche them up and tell them how the whole nation depends on them. If possible get the President to talk to them, if he cannot, let him write to you, go to them and read the President’s message to them.

Kalu: “The difference between victory and defeat is for you to go to their camp and network with them, tell them to promise you the cup.
On the day of the match, go to the dressing room
before kick off psyche them up and see how they will come out smoking.”

Mimiko: “Now I understand better how you were able to triumph with Enyimba.”

Kalu: “There is nothing like a victory over Ahly to buoy your campaign chances. Football is so loved by our people that all you need is to give it to them and they will troop out to vote for you at the polls.
“Also, get your colleagues to come round. Turn it into a carnival. Invite other governors, those who love football, Fashola, Uguaghan,…….Akpabio….flood Ijebu Ode with lorry loads of busses from Akure. If you invite me, I will come…” laughter

Mimiko: Sure. You are invited. We can do with your magic. When I drop, I will call the Sports Commissioner and the Chairman of the Football Agency so that they
can brief me adequately on where we are…..”

Kalu: “ Good luck my brother…”

Air hostess: Sir….sir…sir…your seat belt…

Paul Bassey: Hmm . . . (I wake up)

Air hostess: We have commenced our final descent into the domestic wing of Murtala Mohammed airport, kindly ensure that your seat belt is securely fastened and your seat is in the upright position ready for landing…….

Paul Bassey: Wow.. so soon? Fifty minutes ago I took off from Calabar Airport and I must have dozed off…..what a dream.
See you next week.

alj harem: Copy ? If I am aware canival started in Lagos as far as Nigeria is concerned

Moreover why is calabar having a brazilain festival ? Any cultural connection ? Yes or No
Lagos used to do EYO festival.
The costumes and other activities I see
here are a direct photocopy of the Calabar Carnival.
I still urge every Nigerian state to identify an
area it has comparative advantage over others and build on it.
PoliticsRe: Colourful Pictures Of Lagos Carnival 2012 by Goddex: 3:31pm On May 10, 2012
Copy Copy.
All states now want to do Carnival.
Why not leave Carnival for Calabar and concentrate
on another area of comparative advantage?

Lagos don't need this, if you ask me.
PoliticsRe: Sack Okonjo, Madueke. Civil Societies To GEJ by Goddex: 12:37pm On Apr 23, 2012
nuclearboy: NOI is pathetic!

There's a budget of 245Billion. You are finance minister PLUS supposedly, you co-ordinate the entire economy and everyone must work with you!

Yet the cost gets to 245B and surpasses it and you keep quiet! It becomes 400% of that and you still keep quiet! Today we know it got to 2.7Trillion of which 1.7 was fraud! Yet the best this "prime minister" econoic "expert" could do was to hide the truth and decide that the best solution was worsen the economy by overloading the man on the street!

She should be ashamed of herself and be the first to go, not even DAM who always was a mediocre anyway!

Yet supposedly educated people are here trying to convince of her innocence forgetting that if she is innocent, that also suggests she is of low IQ and probably cheated to get the degrees.

Wole Soyinka got a 3rd class but in the real world got a Nobel! She has all these degrees & certifications yet allowed a 245billion budget to get to 2.7trillion! So what's the "real" value of her "education"? Trick or treat?
Mr Man, listen to yourself first.

Somebody just reminded us here that Okonjo-Iweala resumed as
minister in September 2011. She did not resume with the other
ministers because she had to resign and handover properly at the
World Bank - her former employer.

Besides, do you think civil service/govt ministries is a place you
get information in a snap the fingers?

What majic did you expect her to perform with just three months to end of 2011?

Plenty Olodos on nairaland.
What's your grouse with Tribune newspaper Mr. Man.
Maybe you've been fed with too much junk from
Tinubu's The Nation Newspaper that you lost objectivity.
