So I was at dinner with a friend this week. Guy has been married for about 8 years now... married almost immediately after uni. Tall guy, always had fine girlfriends back in school. You’d think na him go dey hype marriage pass.

Out of nowhere, he just sighed and said he regrets marrying… apart from the kids.
His advice shocked me.

He said if he were single again in 2026 Nigeria, he would never marry. That I should just find a woman, have between 1 to 3 kids if I want, make her comfortable, take care of my responsibilities... but avoid marriage completely.

I laughed it off, but then it hit me:
My boss had told me something very similar some time ago.
Then I remembered a former neighbour... fine wife, two kids, lovely family pictures on social media... he also warned me not to rush into marriage.

Is marriage quietly becoming something different from what we were sold?

A good marriage must have its foundation on God, not on beauty, compatibility, money, and any of such. Any other foundation is a sinking ground.

So, my dogs forcefully went outside the gate today in the afternoon. It's not really the usual time to go out to pee and stuff, so I was a bit angry and wanted them to come back.

They wasted a bit of time running around the bush and I started chasing them a little before they knew I was serious and they wouldn't like me to graduate to using some well orchestrated spanks first...

Finally they got in the living room (not using the cage for now cos they disturb/bark at the neighbors). Then just as I was about to close the door and turn back I found this shocker chilling like a confused fish out of water.

Thankfully it wasn't too comfortable to slither on tiles so it was very easy to target the head first.

It must have hidden itself around one of the dog's body—maybe the more hairy one. Cos I just move in 2 months ago, there could be no other way for such except for small cockroaches and maybe wall geckos I should try to deal with it.

I begin to wonder why normal single ladies do not make advances on me like that but ladies in relationships and marriages, lately I am having bad reconsiderations maybe I should start having affairs with these my friends babes because konji is killing me..

If God had answered me earlier, I wouldn’t have been ready. If He had moved when I demanded, I might not have recognized it was Him. But by waiting until the last moment — when all hope was gone — God made it clear that it was His hand, not my effort.



This is a reminder for anyone reading this who is tired, discouraged, or close to giving up:
Hold on a little longer.
Your breaking point may be the turning point.
If God could do it for me, He can do it for you.

The chemical they used to preserve it has not expired. My family and I have eaten such before and we are still here. You can parboil it and pour the water away the moment the beans starts boiling.

Hello my Nairaland Folks and Pals. Im writing this with so much hurt and pain in my heart. Another girl I just met says she prefers we just be friends because she has a guy in her life but she wouldn’t mind coming around still.
