Nigerians applying for student visa do not need to open an account in Canada. Upload your sponsors statement of account showing the money together with all other necessary financial documents .

It is NOT compulsory that you make tuition deposit. Some persons have gotten approvals without paying a dime while some persons who have also gotten refusal even after paying 100% of tuition.

You can reach out to the school directly vial mail and ask about their refund policy.

hello house, please my sister just got admitted into university of Winnipeg for her undergraduate degree program winter semester,2021, please is it necessary to make tuition deposit to the school though the school stated that they don't require tuition deposit , please is it necessary to make deposit before applying for the visa and does anyone have experience about the tuition refund policy of university of Winnipeg, if visa not granted.

U r welcome, It is not mandatory for every university in Canada, it all depends on what each Universities ask for. Different Universities with different Admission requirements & Admission Process. U might need to visit the school website to confirm if the transcript required for Admission is a WES-Evaluated transcript or otherwise, and if u are not sure,send a mail to the international department of that school and that your desired department.

Just to add my 2cents to the debate...

I got admitted to a number of institutions starting in fall 2020 and also attended online webinars organized by them. They all advised not to commence online studies without at least an approval of the study permit application.

Also, I think Canada operates a quota system for visa approval and the denial rate for Nigeria has been increasing over the years due to negative perception.

please is transcript mandatory To be evaluated by Wes before reaching the school in Canada? or is there some school that accept transcript without been evaluated by Wes ? please this is very important to me now !!!

Well, Well, I doubt her chances, cos the minimum requirements for M.SC in Canada is 2nd Class Upper (2.1)
And it also depends if its a Course-based M.SC she's going for or a Thesis-based M.SC

Though her CGPA is almost closer to a 2.1, she can try give it a shot, cos there are applicants in this forum who got a Masters Admission with a 2.2 but it's like 2 out of 12.(With such CGPA for M.SC, I feel its a try ur luck thing )

If she's interested in a Thesis-based M.SC in Mathematics, she has to secure a potential supervisor, and if she's accepted, then she can proceed with her admission..

Getting a Supervisor is Paramount ,don't get discouraged by a professor/Dr. that say's he/she ain't accepting students, Keep Firing those mails to other Potential Supervisors of the Schools and Program u are interested in...

You shouldn't have declared that she is enrolled in a University in Nigeria since she hasn't completed any semester yet. I think you were the one that shot yourself on the foot. Nevertheless, I am of the opinion that you should try your best to explain your current situation (inability to obtain the first semester transcripts) to the school in Canada and see if they could see reasons with you. On the other hand, while waiting for the school to respond with their decision, also apply to the University of Regina for any of the undergraduate programs that is reasonably inlight with the applicant's interest. I must tell you that Visa chances are higher with University of Regina for undergraduate studies than Winnipeg (this is something I have practicalized with few applicants).

What's your little sister's grade in English language (WAEC certificate). The university of Winnipeg doesn't require any english proficiency test for undergraduate studies if she has A1, B, or C grade in english language.

thanks for your response, really appreciate, it's really getting frustrating now ... she had C4 in English language and C6 in English literature . The school is also requesting for course outline and transcript but the issue is that we have declare that she just got admission into a university here in Nigeria and now has never completed her first semester and as a result, she doesn't have any transcript because of this reason and the school has insisted that we should send her course outline and transcript . please how will she /we overcome this , please house attend to my request, please

Memorial university doesn't require English test as far as your university degree was taught in English.

Memorial requires english but she can use WAEC result or letter from institution.

I used my TOEFL in my own case.

she doesn't have TOEFL Or IELTS score but she has sent letters of English proficiency from her secondary school . Please is there any way you can be of help ?

1. do you have a high CGPA?
2. Financial ability to sponsor a rather expensive master's degree program in Canada?
3. Ready to meet the demands of a master's degree program in Canada.
4. you ave all your credentials ready( O'level certificate, BSc degree certificate, transcript, available work/education reference available upon request, motivation letter for program choice)
5. lastly, going forward you need to have a plan. it is not enough to just want to ENTER CANADA you need to have a decent knowledge of the province you want to go and the opportunities provided going forward,

Since you apply online if visa is granted you will receive an email requesting you submit your passport to visa centre but if visa denial,you will also recieve an email explain the refuse but no passport request. Abd current processing time for nigeria is 70days but most time less or more
