Forensic Accounting question asked today in exams.
Critical thinking: A scientist has two water cans, one carries 5 litres of water the other carries 4 litres respectively. Please explain how he can perfectly derive 3 litres using JUST THE TWO CANS?

He should fill the 4litre can with water, then pour everything into the 5litre can. Now, he has 4litres of water in the 5litre can, so he should fill the 4litre can again and pour from it into the 5litre can until it gets filled up. That means he has poured 1litre from the 4litres of water initially in the 4litre can into the 5litre can and he has 3litres of water left in the 4litre can.

Yeah, but the advantages of a smartphone surely outweighs its disadvantages...You don't have to get rid of it, just learn how to use it.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Solve This Problem & Be Hired as Consultant by Godschild2(m): 9:22am On Oct 07, 2015
...Another method;

22x = 8x
22x = 23x1
(multiply both sides by 1, since x0=1 on the L.H.S)
22x.x0 = 23.x1
(divide both sides by 2x so the exponents will remain)
2x+0 = 3+1
2x = 4
x = 2
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Solve This Problem & Be Hired as Consultant by Godschild2(m): 8:53am On Oct 07, 2015
Okay, lemme try my own too...

22x = 8x
22x = 23x
(divide both sides by 23)
22x/23 = x
22x-3 = x1
(since any number raised to power of 1 is the number itself, 'x' on the R.H.S above can be any number. So we let x=2)
22x-3 = 21

Therefore;
2x-3 = 1
2x = 4
x = 4/2
x = 2

I believe this is goodbye (retirement), they have attained the highest positions they can in service. For someone like Air chief marshal Badeh, his course mates have long ago retired & there is no office for him/them to occupy anymore. Very soon a pulling out parade will take place in their honour.

Wow! I understand now...Thanks mimzy!

Please I have a question guys, the sacked service chiefs, is it that they are out of the force generally OR they are off the posts as service chiefs and will still remain in the force?...Please someone should enlighten me.

This is what we call the standard and is true on paper; the general idea (what is real in the field) is that DSSC are posted for combatant Ops!! What I guess "he" meant to tell you is that you are trained/meant for combatant operations as an SSC officer while DSSC officers are trained/meant for Professional or desk jobs!! SSC are trained for 9months - 1yr while Dssc are trained for 6 -7months.

Also there is no such thing as a 1star LTT! Its called 2nd lieutenant I.e. One star or Lieutenant I.e Two Star !! Also there are peculiarities that can exist within individual armed forces that you will have to find out for yourself that you will never hear till you get there (and you probably won't tell folks about who seek to know after you get there)

Oga Ehissi, how you dey? its been a while that we read from you...I always enjoy your write-ups, keep it up please. You are a boost of morale to so many of us here.

Dnt miscontrue my terse comment, bro. I belv the HRM echelon in Nigeria Brewery know whom dy want. dats y dy stipulated those qualifications. Nigeria Brewery, I knw, will never call u if u dnt meet their qualifications. Dy dnt even call all that meet their core qualifications, for nxt stage of d exercise. talk more of unqualified applicants. NB is private multinational FMCG company, nt NLNG (Government affiliated org.) dat cn bring on non-consummate applicants to write d test.

Bro, I have a friend in my church with a degree in business admin and applied for mech engineer position. He made it without any connections, in fact he came to share his testimony in church and that's what motivated me to apply this time. Qualified or not, God's grace is sufficient my brother.

Summary of the transaction is that: John did not lose anything neither did he gain anything, he simply got a refund of his money...The woman went away with N200 worth of items + N800 and gave mr shopkeeper a fake N1000. Mr shopkeeper had to burn the note...The shopkeeper lost N1000.

If you really want to understand the scenario, just get 3 characters and act it out, use real cash if you wish. That should clear all arguments.
