jnrremedy: Can we pls continue with d state analysis. Its very informativeAnd perhaps you'd like to read something about Kaduna, also from 12B;... mykejones: Lolzz..alrite,am based in Kaduna, and I graduated frm ABU zaria,so i'l cal myself a Northerner. |
jnrremedy: Can we pls continue with d state analysis. Its very informativeIK has said something about Akwa Ibom earlier, these is from one of the Batch B threads;...Quite lengthy! fashrola: Well prospective batch "B" corper willing to serve in Akwa Ibom state, I want to brief you a little about the place, Though I'm from Akwa Ibom and I school @ Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, I've also been mobilized for the NYSC programme too, Akwa Ibom state (Uyo as a case) Uyo is a very nice place to be, especially the new infrastructure put to place by the State Governor which includes: Good and beautiful roads, Cinema, At least manageable power supply, good road network system (no hold-up), Cheap accommodation and Transportation, Uyo is a very peaceful place and it is not as big as Lagos, therefore it is a really organized-city, Where the problem lies is which LGA you will be posted to in Akwa Ibom state, well I'll tell you the best LGA to serve with most good social amenities includes: Uyo, Eket (oil-rich town), Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Oron, Ibiono, Itu...though other LGA are good but I'm just telling you the best LGA in Akwa Ibom state and their proximity to the state Capital. Don't mind my grammer sha, I'm typing with a phone... fashrola: *Continuation* for those that will be posted to Oron ( This is the LGA where Maritime Academy of Nigeria is located) some of you may wonder "I've never heard about this institution b4" Hmm well its a professional institution just for the training of seafarers, which include Captains, Marine engineers and their courses is specifically tailored for the Maritime industry in Nigeria, for more info abt the school, just google it, Ok back to the point..... If you are really lucky to be posted to Oron LGA in Akwa Ibom state and also fortunate to be posted to Maritime Academy of Nigeria as a corper just thank your stars....because you'll enjoy a lot of benefits during your stay in as a corper at Maritime Academy of Nigeria. Corpers are paid N15k there, You'll be provided with a lodge, and the school runs a 24/7 power supply, Your security is assured, cos the Institution is a regimented school, powered by the Nigerian Navy... While I was a cadet there, I'm always jealous of corpers serving in my skool cos I just wanted to be like them (posted somewhere similar to my skool) but sha I know God will make a way for me too...That's all folks...pls I will like other corpers in the house to throw more info about their state, conditions and benefits too, at least we'll be enlighten before we are posted to our various places...Thank youIn case I stumble upon some other state's analysis, I'll post it here... |

sleekcm: I was a batch A, 2008/2009 NYSC member in Bayelsa. A few heads up 4 u guys: 1. If you want to be posted to Yenagoa after camp, you must be at least part of the following- a. State NYSC football team. B. Volleyball team (for the ladies). C. Drama group. D. OBS team member. E. HIV advocacy group member etc. 2. Yenagoa corpers are the poorest bunch as cost of living is high in the capital. 3. There aren't any Oil companies for u to serve in. Just 4get that thought now. 4. Prepare ur mind to teach full time. 5. Get urself a treated mosquito net cos of their smart mosquitoes and sunflies. 6. Be ready to serve across the water. Every1 can't be in Yenagoa. 7. Bayelsa ladies/girls worship corpers. They are also free with the gifts so careful u don't get any pregnant! Be smart! 8. The best place to serve in my opinion is across the water. You get to appreciate the importance of the service and learn a different culture. The ppl will love and respect you. That's a nice feeling/experience to live with when it's all over. sleekcm: I forgot to add - most of the communities across water have very fine Corpers' Lodges. Where they aren't available, the communities usually provide decent accommodation. The corper's lodge in Anyama-Ogbia, Ogbia LGA, some 40minutes or so by speedboat from Swali waterside, Yenagoa is top class. Other neighbouring communities like Anyakoro, Otuedu, Onuegbu, etc also have decent lodges. I still miss those places. And would surely visit them sometime in the future. One of the nicest moments/experiences of my life. You guys go serve and enjoy it.Wow!...Thank you so much for the info, so encouraging & uplifting...#TeamBayelsa!...Can't wait! Me I be pastor ooo...Make dem Baye babes no near me at all oo...Holyghost fire na im go help me pursue them comot...Lolzzz |

Akieagle: Bayelsa pays just 5k to 6k if you are on water and 4 to 5k if you are on land...just pray the weather should favour us...i'm still chiling in port harcort rite nw,c u guys soonBros, please do you know how I can get to kaiama camp from P.Harcourt??...And like how much is the fare??...Thanks! |
Chikebrain: Miss chizzyeric thanks jhor. I've resorted in taking paino lessons to keep myself busy since I quit my job. @ Ayo, I'm still coming in through yenogoa. Although my friend says from the state capital to the camp is about 45mins or thereabout. As for the pay; I thought they said Bayelsa pays good or has the good payment long ended. Hoping to get acquinted with you(chizzyeric) and AyoI think the good payment days were the good old days oo...Before the new policy was brought up & implemented...My brother we go survive oo... |
chizzyeric: Future otondos hw una dey? Chike calm dwn na u go upload taya, my own is dat d pay is too too small ooooooo or else d 4k is daily! .....lol so wats d essence of been an oil state? Anyway let's get der first....we'l survive.
