g17prinz: I have never been the enthusiastic type when it comes to Japa, but the realities on ground in the country leaves one with little or no choice to look elsewhere for greener pastures. I have about 7m worth of landed properties, and I want to do away with it and relocate before this country leaves me with nothing at all. I graduated with a 2:1 from a federal university.
Which country affords a better opportunity for someone looking for an MSc, putting all circumstances into perspective? if you do your research very well, you will still find universities in Italy with tuition between €3000-€4000. To be realistic, 7m is not enough for the whole process. |

NanaOLOMU: Hello.
If your PhD is not a research based, well its not really necessary to contact a future supervisor. In that case you may wait on the admission decision and keep applying to schools .
But it's advisable to contact prospective PhD academic supervisor (s) in your department many months even before your application date. This will give you time to get to know your future advisor and explore prospective research ideas.
It will also give your advisor time to decide whether they have room for a new student in their research group. Your supervisor (professor) determines if they need you in their department or if there is available funds for you (Research Based PhD Student ).
Good Luck. The program is five years . Two years for course work , the remaining three years for thesis writing . Thank you |

NanaOLOMU: Hello.
You don't have to apply to many schools for PhD (in order to be focused) except if you have not gotten in contact with a positive supervisor. Any University which gives PhD admissions to International applicants must be a research based institution, therefore, all the 4 schools you have applied to are good enough. I have not contacted any supervisor in those schools I applied to . It is not stated on the website to secure supervisor before admission can be given . Do you think I should start contacting supervisors from those schools , even though I have submitted application? Thank you
No matter how High the acceptance rate of any Research based University, such school won't bend her admission criteria for any PhD applicant, hence dont look for high acceptance rate, look the school that will accept your over all qualifications and also focus on supervisor with passion for your work. You can also Google search schools independently.
Good Luck. |

Smile4mee01: I have been abroad for a while now and i am curious to know why some of our ladies decline dating or marrying fellow Nigerians in the diaspora. I have tried to date a few any they are often quick to assume i am after them for their papers while i just prefer my own, someone who understands my culture and where i have come from. Even when i try to date the ones that don't have paper, regular work visa holders like me. They seem to want to be with the guys that have papers.
Also, when i am old, i would like to return to Nigeria. Marrying outside would make that transition very difficult.
I study other races, Immigrant groups from India and Asia. they work together well, and don't have these difficulty.
Should i give up on being with a Nigerian or keep trying ?
Regards. You can try the dating site "black gentry" There a lot of beautiful Nigerians and carribeans there. Just give it a try there. |

I got my passport with visa this week . I will be traveling to UK on Wednesday and arrive on Thursday in order to meet up with the deadline stated on the CAS . The deadline stated on the CAS is next week Friday . My major problem is that I have not paid for the enrollment and the deadline for the payment of enrollment is next week Friday . Though I have initiated Form A to pay the enrollment at UBA for about two weeks but I have not debited .. I want to ask if it is possible for the school to extend payment of enrollment at least a week . With the limited resources at disposal , I cant afford to pay through black market again . Paying the deposit with black market really affected my finance . The difference was too much . Please I need your urgent response . |

Lekeleke2022: My success story April 1 - Biometric date N.B - 2 previous visitors visa refusal
May 12- student Visa refusal -Reason given was the attached bank statement explaining the circumstances of previous visa refusal was a falsified document.
May 12- complaint made to Bank as it was a genuine bank statement. May 13- Bank replied they contacted UK embassy and they acknowledged the error on their part hence they will withdraw the refusal.
May 13- June 22 (several mail sent to UKVI and they claimed they have made decision on my application ). Pleaded for it to be escalated as I haven’t gotten my passport back buh they said due to Ukraine war, they couldn’t escalate.
June 22- complaint made to home office but it took 20 working days to get a response from them.
July 21- They finally responded and they apologized and explained that the visa was issued May 13 but due to administrative oversight, it wasn’t passed to next stage.
July 26- picked up my passport with visa buh couldn’t travel with it as school claimed I couldn’t meet up with April class despite series of online lectures I attended . Online Lectures was only stopped first week July . School advised I have to request another CAS and make a fresh visa application.
July 27- I mailed Home office again via complaint review stating my displeasure about how they made me miss out my resumption due to error from there part..I was also preparing for another application so I started another POF journey cos school won’t release another CAS without POF evidence.
August 16- I requested CAS from school cos I knew it might take 2weeks for them to release it.
August 23 - Home office replied that I should get CAS for another course date for them to revoke the present visa and reissue another one. Earlier that day ,Sheffield team messaged too also demanding new CAS to be sent to the mail they provided within 10 working days. The POF I started earlier and also the CAS I requested earlier too helped. School frustrated me delaying the CAS. They finally released it after several calls.
August 30- CAS was released and I forwarded it to UKVI as requested.
September 8- British High Commission called I should submit my passport back which I rushed to submit that same day.
September 11- BRP details was sent to my mail . I was expecting mail from TLS for pick up for close to 2 weeks but no mail. So I felt since my BRP details was already sent to me and I didn’t go through the normal process, let me risk going to TLS to check it myself.
September 21- I finally picked my passport with New visa issued.
It wasn’t an easy journey but God came through for me. Congratulations ! |
