The Olori Janet Afolabi Foudation, OJAF, has unveiled the Newswatch 5 lecture Series at Ijakadi Hall, Raddisson Blu , Hotel, Ikeja Lagos. The event had a dual purpose - to also pay tribute to the late Yakubu Mohammed, a Media Icon who co- founded Newswatch alongside late Dele Giwa, the late Dan Agbese and Ray Ekpu. Chief Tola Adeniyi, Chairman of the occasion said Mohammed rebranded journalism in his own image. He said Mohammed did not find himself in journalism but walked into it, prepared and laboured for it. "He desired, perspired, and acquired the journalism feat.By nature, Mohammed was not flamboyant nor loud, but stayed in his own lane" In her speech, the Convener and Founder of OJAF, Olori Janet Afolabi, CNN award winning journalist and Queen of Apomu Kingdom said when Dan Agbese co- Founder of Newswatch died last year, she reflected on her Journalism career and remembered "the people who shaped me, taught me, corrected me, pushed me, belin me even when l doubted myself and gave me a platform to soar .My former Bosses are these people. They were mentors, builders of men and custodian of journalism standards. They taught me that journalism is not just a profession but a public trust. That truth matters. That integrity is not negotiable" "It is this debt of gratitude that inspired me to organise this event. Ray Ekpu the only surviving Co-Founder of Newswatch, in his speech described Yakubu Mohammed as a moslem who was not an extremist. "He was a decent, civilised and modern moslem not infected by the bug of religious irredentism. He was a reporters reporter, a careful, thorough and methodical story teller. He went for facts, truth. He never bent the facts. He never bent the truth. When he got elected as the Vice President of League of Nigerian Columnists which is headed by journalism legend, Chief Tola Adeniyi, l knew that he deserved the honour. And he capped his writing career by bringing out an autobiography titled "Beyond Expectations" before he died. By writing a book about his life and legacy he added muscle to his career as a journalist and public intellectual. " There were reminiscence and tributes from former Military President, Retired General Ibrahim Babangida, Professor Tayo Popoola, Head of Department, Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Professor Oloruntola Sunday, Dean of of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Lagos, Mohammed Haruna pioneer Editor of New Nigerian newspaper,as well as family, friends, colleagues and schoolmates. Lagos Police Intensify Crackdown on Crime; Arrest 118 Suspects, Several Arms Recovered in April GODSPOWERPROJECT The Lagos State Police Command has recorded a sweeping wave of arrests and recoveries in April 2026, underscoring what authorities describe as a renewed, intelligence-driven offensive against criminality across Nigeria’s commercial capital. From the Lekki corridor to Ikorodu and Lagos Island, coordinated operations by police operatives disrupted networks linked to armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, and vandalism, signaling a firm resolve to reinforce public safety and restore confidence in law enforcement, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. Addressing journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olayiwola Fatai reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to its constitutional mandate. “The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property across the State through proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, strategic deployments, and swift response to criminal activities,” he said. Providing an overview of the Command’s performance, the Commissioner noted that April’s operations yielded significant results. “In line with this commitment, the Command recorded remarkable operational successes within the month of April 2026, resulting in the arrest of numerous criminal suspects involved in armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, vandalism, unlawful possession of firearms, street violence, and other related offences. These achievements further reaffirm our resolve to rid Lagos State of criminal elements and sustain peace, safety, and public confidence in policing.” He disclosed that within the period under review: “The Command recorded the arrest of one hundred and eighteen (118) suspects; recovery of eleven (11) locally fabricated Baretta pistols; one locally made cut-to-size pistol; one English Barretta pistol; two (2) dane guns; nine (9) telecom power batteries; four (4) cutlasses; one (1) knife; 21 bags of substances suspected to be India hemp; assorted charms; and other incriminating items.” Highlighting specific operations, CP Fatai detailed a major raid targeting criminal hideouts: “On April 27, 2026, at about 1830hrs, operatives of the Command in a coordinated operation across Ilasan, Lekki, and Maroko axis, arrested fifty-eight (58) suspects linked to street crimes, traffic robbery, and harassment of residents. The suspects are alleged to have been responsible for phone snatching, armed attacks, and intimidation of innocent members of the public within the Lekki corridor. Several violence items were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing, and all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of profiling and investigation.” The Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani also disclosed the arrest of suspected kidnappers linked to gruesome killings: “On April 27, 2026, at about 2000hrs, operatives of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, traced and arrested two suspected kidnappers at Lucy Fibre Area, Ikorodu, Lagos. The suspects are Elijah Emmanuel ‘m’, aged 23 years, and Tony Ekwane Oghanetega ‘m’, aged 21 years. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are linked to the kidnapping and gruesome murder of one Thomson Omokhafe Adams ‘m’, aged 17 years, which occurred on April 22, 2026. Further interrogation also revealed that the suspects had earlier kidnapped and murdered a female victim on November 30, 2025, during which a ransom of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (₦300,000) was paid by the victim’s family.” On infrastructure-related crime, he said: “Following credible intelligence from Glo Nigeria on the theft of over 650 power assets between 2025 and 2026, one Orji Emeka ‘m’ was arrested at Ikeja. The suspect confessed and led operatives to Alausa, where one Obiagwu Kingsley ‘m’ was arrested. Further investigation led to the arrest of another syndicate member, Oluwatosin Sani ‘m’, at Gbogbo area of Ikorodu; nine (9) telecom power batteries were recovered.” Cultism-related operations also featured prominently: “On April 22, 2026, between 0200hrs and 0450hrs, operatives of the Command carried out a crackdown operation on cult-related activities within Iwaya, Lagos. The operation led to the arrest of eight ( suspected cultists linked to ongoing unlawful society activities within the area. Investigation is currently ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members and uncover further criminal activities connected to the suspects.”In another swift response to robbery: “On April 28, 2026, at about 0630hrs, information was received that three young men riding on a motorcycle had dispossessed one Chiamaka ‘f’ of her belongings at Ayetoro Bus Stop. Operatives swiftly responded to the scene, leading to the arrest of one Destiny Garuba ‘m’, aged 25 years. Investigation still ongoing to apprehend other suspects.” The Command also made breakthroughs in a cult-related murder case: “On April 12, 2026, credible intelligence was received that some unknown persons conspired and murdered one Emmanuel Obioson ‘m’ around Ilasan area of Lagos State. Detectives swung into action, leading to the arrest of suspects including Promise Israel ‘m’, Bright Aniedi ‘m’, Fabulous John ‘m’, Meshack Obili ‘m’, and Owolabi Idris ‘m’. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of the Aiye Confraternity, while the deceased was identified as a member of the Eiye Confraternity. It was further discovered that one Lukman ‘m’, currently at large, allegedly shot the deceased, while another suspect, Aluge ‘m’, used a stone to smash his head. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.” Further operations across Lagos Island yielded additional arrests: “On April 20, 2026, at about 1800hrs, operatives arrested twenty (20) suspects linked to various cult-related and armed robbery activities terrorizing Lagos Island. The suspects are alleged members of the Aiye and Eiye Confraternities and are believed to have participated in violent attacks recorded on April 10, 2026. The case will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.” Police also foiled a robbery attempt on Anthony Bridge: “On April 22, 2026, at about 1000hrs, operatives arrested one Umar Muhammad Abubakar Sodiq ‘m’, aged 19 years, in connection with armed robbery. The suspect was found with a short cutlass while attempting to rob an unsuspecting member of the public. Further investigation led to the recovery of two (2) locally fabricated Baretta pistols. The suspect is in custody while the investigation continues.” Operations in Ajao Estate and Festac also led to arrests: “On April 19, 2026, operatives arrested Emmanuel Ogbu ‘m’ and Obumneke Iromaka ‘m’ at Christine Onyung Street, Ajao Estate. Emmanuel Ogbu confessed to being an ex-convict who returned to cult activities after serving his jail term.” “On April 27, 2026, operatives of the Festac Division arrested suspects including Bashiru Ajibase ‘m’, Covenant Edet ‘m’, Jireh Essker ‘m’, Akwuobi Emmanuel ‘m’, Akingboju Opeyemi ‘m’, and Dennis Omoniyi ‘m’, who confessed to belonging to a dreaded cult group operating within Festac and its environs.” On arms trafficking, CP Fatai added: “Following credible intelligence, two suspects—Mustapha Mohammed ‘m’ and Sanusi Musa ‘m’—were arrested in connection with unlawful possession and attempted sale of firearm. One Beretta pistol was recovered. The suspects mentioned one Umaru Naeem, resident in Kaduna State, as the principal suspect. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.” He further emphasized continued arms recovery efforts: “During sustained operational engagements and ongoing mop-up of illegal arms, Police operatives recorded notable successes through coordinated intelligence-led operations, recovering locally made pistols and other items believed to have been used for criminal activities. These recoveries underscore the Command’s proactive determination to rid Lagos State of illegal firearms and disrupt criminal networks.” Concluding, the Police Commissioner, CP Fatai Tijani reassured residents of sustained vigilance: “This successful operation is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of intelligence gathering and prompt police action. The Command wishes to assure Lagosians that criminal elements will find no safe haven anywhere within the State. We urge members of the public to continue to support the Police with timely and credible information. All suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.” The April operations, authorities say, reflect a deliberate strategy to clamp down on crime hotspots while strengthening preventive policing across Lagos. I remember when I met you 16 years ago, and from that simple conversation has grown what we have today. I have been privileged to witness your growth from day one—through our marriage, to you as a corps member walking through the streets of Ibadan to find a PPA, becoming a star on The Johnsons, having and raising our children, being ordained as a pastor, sowing precious seeds, and both of us leading together through tough times. You have undoubtedly been my major support system. Your confidence in me keeps me going. Your heartfelt gratitude, even for the smallest things, is something I deeply cherish. Stop Scrolling: What if Police Pick you up Right now and you don’t know any Lawyer? Most people don’t have a lawyer on speed dial. No “my counsel will handle this.” No rich uncle with connections. Just you and a police station. So what happens next? First Know this, you are not Powerless Under the law, you have the RIGHT to a lawyer. That right is guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and reinforced by the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015. 👉 Police cannot lawfully deny you access to legal representation. 👉 You can refuse to make a statement until your lawyer is present. “But I don’t have Money for a Lawyer” This is where many people panic but here’s what most Nigerians don’t know: 🥢 You can ask for a Free Lawyer There is an organization called the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria. They provide FREE legal services especially for people who cannot afford a lawyer 👉 At the police station, SAY THIS CLEARLY: “I want a lawyer from Legal Aid.” 🥢 Call any Lawyer Yes, any Even if you don’t “know” one personally: 👉 Search online 👉 Call a law firm 👉 Message a lawyer on social media Most lawyers will at least guide you immediately or connect you to someone nearby. 🥢Use Friends & Family Networks You may not know a lawyer but someone you know DOES. 📞 Call: Friends Colleagues Church members WhatsApp groups 👉 One contact can change everything. 🥢 NGOs & HUMAN RIGHTS GROUPS There are organizations that respond to wrongful arrests and police issues. Some even send lawyers urgently. Many people, out of fear, start talking writing statements signing papers WITHOUT a lawyer. That is how people unknowingly damage their own case. 👉 You have the right to remain silent until you get legal advice. The biggest mistake is not lack of money. It is lack of information. Because the truth is help is closer than you think. Now your turn If you were arrested today and had just ONE phone call 📞 Who are you calling first? Be honest. ©️Confidence Aribibia I remain your favorite Lawyer💕 Legal Talk with Confidence Aribibia GODSPOWERPROJECT

Insecurity: Open Letter To President Bola Tinubu On The Need For Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF) for Nigeria Police Force By Matthew Ibadin Psalm 150:6 KJV [6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU,GCFR PRESIDENT AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA Insecurity in Nigeria The need for Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF) for the Nigeria Police Force May I begin this open letter by thanking Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for appointing one of Nigeria's finest police officers, Tunji Disu as the new Inspector General of Police. In one respect, this open letter is to help the new IGP to carry out a radical transformation of the Nigeria Police and possibly achieve greater success than his predecessors. Towards this end, I’m beaming a search light on serious setbacks which if eliminated would enhance the success of the new IGP. These identified setbacks had obviously posed serious obstacle to the success of the past Inspectors General of Police. These include: 1. Lack of Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF) for the Nigeria Police Force. Since Alhaji Shehu Shagari's administration ended on December 31, 1983, in a military coup, there has not been any emergency intervention fund for the Nigeria Police by any successive president in Nigeria till date. 2. Achieving success is an uphill task without adequate funding, One needs not over-emphasize the fact that achieving success is an uphill task without adequate funding. We all know the impact of adequate funding in ensuring the effectiveness and success of any organization, an enterprise or an agency, but when it is not adequately funded, it is always an uphill task to expect effectiveness or positive result. 3. During the Shehu Shagari tenure (1979–1983), the Nigerian leadership executed a planned strategy to restructure the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). This step was prompted by a longing to bolster the Police's function in internal security and authorize the police as the lead agency for internal security. Equipment and strategy under Shagari. The government invested heavily in police gear and Tactical Hardware like Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), assault rifles, and other advanced arms precisely for the police. Specialized Units: Shagari's cabinet created Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams and increased the mobile police units throughout the nation to combat internal risks. Intelligence Expansion: The police intelligence wing was considerably strengthened to evolve from reactive to proactive crime avoidance modernization. 4. No Helicopter Service for Accelerated Operations. South Africa has about 47 police helicopters with a population of about 65million people whereas Nigeria with a population of over 240million people has less than 3 functional police helicopters. This gap is obviously too wide in spite of our large population and skyrocketing crime rates. At least 50 helicopters are required by the Nigeria Police Force for the personnel to be able to contain criminal and operational activities more effectively in Nigeria 5. Inadequate Operational Vehicles. The Nigeria Police Force does not have adequate operational vehicles. At least 500 operational vehicles are required for each of the 36 states and FCT, Abuja to enable the police carry out their operations effectively. Furthermore, some high ranking officers such as Area Commanders and DPOs etc. do not have official vehicles. 6. Nigerians Fund their Cases Taken to the Police. Any case involving logistics, transportation or investigation more often than not is funded by the person who brought the case to the Nigeria Police. This is quite opposite to what obtains in the western countries and even in some developing countries of Africa. Ironically, when it comes to other security agencies like the EFCC, government funds investigations of cases brought to the agency. That is why EFCC is one of the most effective Agencies in Nigeria. 7. Lack of Motivated Police Force The living condition of Nigeria police officers, especially the junior ranks are among the most deplorable in the country. Look at the unsightly state of our police barracks all over the country. Policemen are poorly paid. Also, how can you pay a retirement benefit of just about N2.5million in today’s Nigeria, after a police officer has served the country for 35yrs? Furthermore, the current pension scheme of the Nigeria police should be upgraded to be at par with that of other security agencies such as the Nigerian Armed Forces. 8. Lack of Respect for the Nigeria Police by members of the public The Nigeria Police Force has long struggled with earning the respect of the public they serve. They do not enjoy adequate respect and appreciation from members of the public. Several factors on the part of the Nigeria Police Force such as corruption, brutality and inefficiency contribute to this negative image, which mostly boils down to poor funding and poor standard of living. When you go to other countries, especially the Western countries, one would feel proud to take a photo shot with their police officer. How come no one is desirous of doing the same with Nigeria police. I personally rate the Nigeria police among the best in the world given the conditions under which they operate without the necessary tools. 9. Redundancy of some of the MOPOLs Withdrawn from VIPs. Withdrawing 11,566 Mobile police officers from VIPs in Nigeria was an excellent move by Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to boost security in the country. However, most of the MOPOLs are now redundant. That may make them to constitute a security risk. 10. Inadequate Security on our highways. Police security activities on our highways are grossly inadequate. Criminals know this and they exploit this weakness to increase criminal exploit. That is why robbery, kidnapping, and banditry thrive on our highways. There is also a high rate of travel insecurity in Nigeria. Passengers and drivers face risks, impacting transport costs and travel. This also has adverse economic impact. Supply chains and trade are disrupted. Leveraging intervention fund, the redundant MOPOLs can be assigned to boost security on our highways with operational vehicles. There is also the need to create buffer zones for the Nigeria police on the highways at the former tollgate locations and also build new mini-barrack outposts strategically located along our highways throughout the country to provide places for officers on duty to rest, change and take their bath. 11. Absence of Comprehensive and Interconnected Data-base. The absence of a comprehensive and interconnected database in the Nigeria Police Force leads to inefficient investigations. Lack of data sharing hinders the ability to track criminals. Investigations slow down due to missing information. Crime patterns cannot be tracked due to lack of centralized data. Therefore, there is no deterrence because every criminal no matter the number of times he or she has committed crime, is always treated as a first-time offender. There is no adequate infrastructure for proper crime documentation by the police. This also leads to waste of resources due to duplication of efforts and poor resource allocation. 12. Nigeria Police Force not being accorded the relevance it deserves by the Federal Government. The importance of the police force in our country with skyrocketing crime rates on a daily basis cannot be over-emphasized. There are a number of countries in the world without an Army, but there is no country without the police force. Surprisingly, the same government that adequately funds other government agencies , is unable to fund the Nigeria police effectively. This clearly shows that in spite of the importance and indispensability of the police force, the Federal Government does not accord it the importance it deserves in the country, today Nigeria Police is embarrassed on daily basis via social media, it boil down to poor funding, how many junior officers can afford android phone or follow trends on social media 13. Lack of Adequate Training of the Nigeria Police. The effects of office inadequate training for the Nigeria Police are numerous. They include poor handling of cases, ineffective crime-solving skill, missed evidence, poor investigation, escalation of conflicts, use of excessive force, human right abuse, unprofessional conducts and low public trust. The Nigeria Police Force should be thoroughly trained on modern security courses such as cybersecurity, intelligence and investigation etc. Those trained in any of these areas should graduate and serve based on their respective areas of competence. 14. Police Recruitment Process Based on Quota System Rather than Merit. The current recruitment process needs to be redefined. Younger and vibrant Nigerians who studied modern security course such as cybersecurity, criminology, forensic investigation, drone piloting, intelligence, Information Technology ,new media etc. should be recruited to inject fresh energy into the Nigeria Police Force if we are to achieve modern and technology driven policing. Policing is a profession and must be treated as such. To achieve excellence, recruitment in the Nigeria Police should be based on merit rather than the current quota system. IGP is not in charge of recruitment. It is the responsibility of the Police Service Commission. The Federal Government needs to develop new recruitment criteria for Police Service Commission. 15. Funding of Nigeria Police Institutions Not Backed Up by the Acts of Parliament. The government needs to directly fund the institutions of police and same needs to be backed up by Act of Parliament as it does to other government establishment such as NIPS, NIIA ,NIMASA etc. Institutions of the Nigeria police force such as Police Colleges, Police Academy, Police Staff College, Jos, Police Detective College, Enugu, Police School of Communication, Ikeja and Police School of Intelligence, Kwara etc. should enjoy direct funding from the Federal Government backed up by Acts of Parliament to make such funding mandatory, ensure continuity and be sustained by successive governments. The major problem of the Nigeria Police Force is the fact that it has been grossly under-funded. What I am advocating for, is emergency intervention fund (EIF)for the Nigeria Police not budget funding. It will be very difficult if not impossible for any Police Officer appointed to head the Nigeria Police to effect significant positive changes in the police force without an emergency intervention fund. The problem of the Nigeria Police Force is so huge and multi-facetted that it cannot be effectively solved by budget funding. An Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF)of at least 3 trillion Naira should be created to be headed by a technocrat like Aliko Dangote and supported by other members with high integrity such as Bishop Matthew Kukah, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Omoyele Sowore, Charles Oputa etc. as well as select officers of the Nigeria Police Force. Adequate funding of the Nigeria Police is not an issue to be taken lightly or treated with indifference if we are to expect efficient policing in Nigeria. I am not alone in this line of thoughts. The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Olayede had recently stressed that, “Armed Forces alone cannot solve Nigeria security challenges”. He called for strengthening of the Nigeria Police Force. He made this appeal during the budget appraisal defense of the 2026 budget proposal at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja. On April 16, 2024 during the Nigeria Police Award and Commendation Ceremony at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had said, “I will transform Nigeria Police into a modern professional force. Our ideas of a modern police force go beyond superficial changes like repainting office building and residence or simply procuring firearms”. He added, “I will ensure that police officers are equipped with knowledge, skills, value and expertise required to tackle the complex challenges of modern policing by upgrading equipment and technology to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency of the force." The President had also restated the same position in his speech during the appointment of Tunji Disu as Acting IGP on February 24, 2026. He said, “And now you assume this responsibility at a defining moment for our Nation’s security, and I expect you to strengthen the discipline, enhance inter-agency collaboration and restore public confidence in the Nigerian Police. Lead firmly but fairly. Demand professionalism at every level and ensure that safety of Lives and property remains our highest priority. It is a daunting challenge, but I know you can do it. You have my full support to advance the security as pillars of renewed hope agenda” Mr. President means very well for the Nigeria Police Force, but IGP Tunji Disu is just one man. The full support of Mr. President is required now more than ever by launching an Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF)to overhaul the Nigeria Police Force in totality and put it on the part of effective policing of the nation. Establishing an Emergency Intervention Fund (EIF)for the Nigeria Police is crucial to enhance their capacity to tackle security challenges, improve operational effectiveness, and boost morale. The fund would provide critical support for urgent needs, enabling swift responses to emergencies and fostering trust with the communities they serve. It's time for the federal government to prioritize this initiative, ensuring our police force is equipped to safeguard Nigeria's security and stability. • Delivers Powerful Keynote at Multiwoman Conference 5.0 Psalm 150:6 KJV [6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD Women must embrace audacity as a transformative force to unlock new levels of excellence, success, and healing, the Managing Director/CEO of Executive Hotel and Suites, Dr. Mrs. Ajoke Olufunmilola Ogunsan has said, urging Nigerian women to rise beyond fear, societal limitations, and self-doubt. Delivering the Keynote Speech, at the 5th edition of the Multi-Woman Conference held in Lagos today Saturday 18th April 2026, Ogunsan framed audacity not as arrogance, but as a necessary virtue for progress. “Audacity should never be confused with arrogance. It is not pride, disrespect, or overconfidence. True audacity is courage guided by wisdom. It is the inner voice that says, ‘Yes, this is difficult but I will still try,’” she told the audience of professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, revealing that "when women gather with purpose, something powerful always happens. Ideas are birthed, strength is renewed and courage is awakened." The Multi-Woman Conference also featured a line-up of speakers including Nollywood actor, Juliana Olayode; psychiatrist Dr. Adeola Adeyemi; academic Dr. Tosin Ayanleke; producer, voices with Victoria, Victoria Nduka; fintech product leader, Praise Agbonighale; and the head of accounts, Baobab Nigeria, Mercy Obasi-Jude. The event was moderated by communication coach, Jadesola Adewonu. Mr. and Mrs. Ogundimu, the parents of the convener, Mrs. Mary Ayuba, were also present among dignitaries who attended the event. Speaking further on the conference theme, “Unleash: Unlocking New Levels of Excellence, Audacity, Success and Healing,” Dr. Mrs. Ogunsan emphasized that many individuals carry untapped greatness constrained by fear, past failures, or societal expectations. “Many people walk through life with greatness locked inside them. Today we are talking about unlocking those restraints. Today, we are not here to listen to mere speeches, we are here to ignite something within ourselves," she said. Ogunsan highlighted the pivotal role women have historically played as “architects of society,” shaping values, nurturing leadership, and driving transformation both within and beyond the home. “Excellence has no gender, competence has no gender, vision has no gender, and leadership also has no gender,” she declared, drawing applause. She reinforced her message by spotlighting notable Nigerian women such as the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Shade Tinubu; the President of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Mo Abudu; Nike Davies Okundaye; Dr. Ola Orekunrin Brown among other women whose audacity has reshaped institutions and global narratives. Referencing Oluremi Tinubu, she quoted: “Women must rise to their responsibilities and take their rightful place in nation building.” Dr. Ogunsan further paid tribute to the late Dora Akunyili, whose tenure combating counterfeit drugs saved countless lives despite significant personal risks. “She confronted powerful interests, endured threats… because of her courage, countless lives were saved. Audacity made that possible.” Drawing from her personal journey as a gospel music minister, entrepreneur, and convener of a Christian Gospel Talent Quest and Concert tagged Symphony of Praise and Worship (SPAW), Ogunsan known in the music scene as Dr. Ajokesings shared how audacity shaped her path. “My audacity in creating the first ever Christian Gospel Talent Quest, where upcoming Christian gospel music rising stars are discovered, nurtured, and supported in their music careers, is one example among many. It is a platform born out of the belief that when opportunities are created, destinies can be unlocked and voices that might otherwise remain unheard can be given a stage,” she said. "As a mother, a wife, a singer, a songwriter, and an entrepreneur, I have also demonstrated and I am still unlocking new levels of audacity in the various fields I operate in. Women possess the unique capacity to multitask, and I tell you today, that in itself is a superpower. I do not believe that anything is impossible because with God, all things are possible." She urged women to harness their innate strengths, including their ability to multitask, describing it as “a superpower.” In her opening remarks, the Convener of the conference, Mrs. Mary Ayuba highlighted the need for women to come together as a front, in order to achieve greatness and thrive as individuals and organizations. She urged women, young and old, to arise for the progress and development of Nigeria. A key highlight of the Multi-Woman Conference came when Dr. Mrs. Ogunsan announced that the newly launched edition of the Multi-Woman Magazine be shared to all women attendees if the 5th conference. She noted "we are women. We must support other women. This is women supporting women." The keynote speaker, Dr. Mrs. Ajoke Ogunsan concluded with a call to action: “Let us unleash excellence in our professions, unleash audacity in our ambitions, and unleash healing in our hearts. The future is not waiting for permission. It is waiting for people bold enough to unleash their greatness. May we be those people.”
