PoliticsNAOSNP Honours FRSC Corps Marshal, Mohammed With Road Safety Champion Award by Godspowerpro(op): 8:26pm On Dec 01, 2025
Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let everything that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

‎The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mallam Shehu Mohammed has won the 2025 Road Safety Champion Awards instituted by the  National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) at the National Conference/Awards held recently in Lagos, in recognition of his aggressive transformation agenda in road transportation safety and commitment to championing the campaign for safer road environment in Nigeria through the FRSC platform.

‎In his remarks at the event, the National President of NAOSNP, Mayor Oki Samson emphasized the growing responsibility of the media—particularly online security news outlets in shaping public understanding and national resilience in an era marked by complex security threats, misinformation, and rapid technological changes. Mayor Oki underscored the vital role of the press in national security discourse and called for deeper collaboration between media and security agencies to ensure accurate, timely, and responsible reporting.

‎According to him, the event represents not just a dialogue, but a critical partnership between those who safeguard the nation and those that shape public opinions, stressing the need for harmony that could present national understanding, cohesion and development. He called on the award winners to continue to discharge their national responsibilities with greater zeal and patriotism, noting that building and safeguarding a nation requires robust collaboration and partnerships between stakeholders.

‎In his Keynote address, the the former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, who was represented by Air Vice Marshal Bashir Rimi Mamman underscored the critical interplay between security, governance, and national development. His called for unity, responsible journalism, and collective action to secure Nigeria’s future. "This event serves as a platform for reinforcing the media’s role in national security and commitment to safeguarding the nation," he stated.

‎The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 2 Lagos, Adegoke Fayoade, who spoke on the theme of the conference, positioned security as a foundational enabler of economic development and resource safeguarding in Nigeria, saying the two must always harmonize to produce credible results for national security and development agenda.

With the theme “Securing and Safeguarding Nigeria’s Economic Resources,” AIG Fayoade's messages highlighted the necessity of aligning security operations with economic priorities, leveraging  identity and information systems, partnering across sectors, and ensuring ethical, capable, forward‑looking security institutions. Such an approach, he said, recognises that economic resources whether tangible (infrastructure, commodities, ports) or intangible (identity systems, revenue flows, investor confidence) require integrated, multi‑dimensional protection.

‎"As Nigeria continues to aim for growth, investment, and resource optimisation, the link between security and economy remains central," the AIG submitted.

‎Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed of the FRSC whose award was received on his behalf by the Sector Commander of Lagos State Sector Command of the FRSC, Corps Commander Kehinde Hamzat, reiterated that every movement starts and ends on the road. He stressed that transportation is a critical aspect of Nigeria's infrastructure and plays a vital role in connecting people, goods and services across the country.Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed further noted that Road Traffic Crashes are the major factors contributing to disruptions in the supply chains and increase in operational costs for the transport sector.

‎While emphasizing the role of stakeholders in national security and development efforts, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed gave assurances that FRSC as an agency of the Federal Government charged with the lead agency responsibility of ensuring road traffic management and safety administration in the country will effectively enforce relevant reforms in transportation safety laws as government at all levels is geared toward investing more in infrastructure and combating corruption in the system.

‎The FRSC Boss further called on the media to continue to raise public awareness on issues of road safety, hold people accountable and disseminate information most professionally to build trust and ensure integrity of their reportage, dedicating the award to the hardworking personnel of the FRSC.

‎In attendance at the event which also saw the award of NAOSNP "Best Security Agency Spokesperson of the Year" to the FRSC Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide
‎were representative of the former Chief of Defence Staff; representative of the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam; the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Lagos, Adegoke Fayoade and the representative of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi among security and other agencies.

‎It is worthy of note that NAOSNP National Security Conference/Awards has over the years become the largest media-organized security conference, gathering top public and private stakeholders in Nigeria’s security architecture.

Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command Leads Celebration Of Women In Policing At 70 With 5km Sensitization Walk; Says No To Gender-Based Violence

GODSPOWERPROJECT

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

For seven remarkable decades, women have stood as pillars of courage, service, and resilience in the Nigeria Police Force. They are breaking boundaries, shaping operational excellence with gallantry, and championing the protection of vulnerable persons across the nation,  National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

This milestone celebration also provides a worthy moment to honour the transformative leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, whose administration has become widely recognized for its unprecedented commitment to gender inclusion and professional empowerment of women in the Force. Under his watch, female officers are not only rising to senior leadership positions but also leading innovations in policing strategy, operations, and public engagement.

Further, the strategic guidance of the Force Gender Advisor, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, has opened new frontiers for Policewomen to contribute their full potential to national security.

To commemorate the 70 Years of Women Policing in Nigeria, the Zone 2 Police Command (comprising Lagos and Ogun States) used the opportunity to emphasize that gender-based violence, child molestation, rape, intimidation, and every form of abuse must have no place in our society. This was marked by a 5km sensitization walk around Onikan down to Falomo in Lagos on Friday, 28th November. Other events will continue till Monday, 1st of December, 2025.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Adegoke Fayoade speaking shortly after the Policewomen Walk celebrated the women in Police and urged the general public to shun gender based violence. 'We say no to gender-based violence. We want gender mainstreaming, let all gender be given their proper place in the affairs of the nation. Our Policewomen are very gallant, supportive, professional, and innovative.'

A top female officer and AC X-Squad Zone 2, ACP Edinor Justice said: 'We are grateful to God for the strength and commitment. We went out to create awareness on gender-based violence. We all know it is a menace not only in Nigeria but worldwide. It is not something that we cannot overcome, that is why we have created awareness to individuals, organizations, and institutions that we should come together to say no to violence, no to rape, and no to GBV. We pray that as we are celebrating the past, we are committing to the present, and inspiring the future.'

Another senior female officer, ACP Amina Yakubu added: 'I am excited because today, women in Nigeria Police are celebrating 70 years anniversary of women policing in Nigeria. We say no to every form of gender-based violence.'

The Zonal PRO, Zone 2, CSP Ayuba Tunni Umma indicated: 'We commend the initiator of this program, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and our mother in person of AIG Force Gender Advisor, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju, for this great initiative. This has never been and it's kind of first time, we want to say a very big thank you, because this has never been in the history of Nigeria Police, and it's a good thing that we're celebrating 70 years of women in policing. Just like my fellow colleagues have said, it is not easy being a woman, being a mother, and then pursuing a career in the police job. You know, you have a lot of challenges, but we're grateful that women are growing, and then we're soaring above and rising to the peak of our career in this it has not been so in the history but, with the present administration, women have been given the opportunities to play their strategic roles, to exhibit their full potentials in different areas of the police. We want to say a big thank you to IGP Kayode Egbetokun for being gender friendly IGP. We say a very big thank you to AIG Aishatu Baju for being the architect behind this new gender-inclusivity, then to our own father, the AIG in charge of Zone 2 command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade for his support always.'
'The 5-km walk is more of a sensitization on gender based violence. We want to say women are important. We want to say no to violence against our children, because our children are leaders of tomorrow, We don't want to begin to groom and raise our children in this kind of manner.'

Boboye Oyeyemi Inducted As 21st President, CILT Nigeria; Fashola, Wole Soyinka, Oyetola Urge Him To Innovate Logistics And Transport Sector

By Oki O. Samson

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD
.

In a ceremony described as historic and transformational, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC and one of Nigeria’s most respected transport administrators, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi was inaugurated as the 21st President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria yesterday Thursday 27th November 2025. He pledged to unify the Institute, deepen professionalism, and reposition the country as a global logistics force, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

In his acceptance speech yesterday, the new National President, Dr. Oyeyemi declared: “Today’s gathering is not merely ceremonial; it is a call to renewal. Leadership is not privilege; it is stewardship and a covenant of service that demands accountability, humility, and purpose.”

The new President anchored his vision on the ceremony’s theme: Building on Our Legacies, Uniting Every Member, and Positioning CILT Nigeria as a Global Force in Transport and Logistics. He reflected on the organisation’s 67-year national history and its 106-year global heritage, calling members to collective action. “Our Institute stands at the threshold of renewal, ready to consolidate, modernize, and globalize.”

He paid glowing tribute to past leaders and, in particular, outgoing President Barr. Mfon Ekong Usoro, whose tenure he described as transformative. “Excellence and inclusivity are achievable together,” Oyeyemi noted, referencing Usoro’s record-breaking national conference attendance of over 600 participants.

He then outlined eight strategic pillars which he will focused on during his 2-year tenure. This includes governance, research, innovation, diversity, and legislative recognition for which he unveiled a Project 2027 Agenda. This is a legislative push to secure an Act of Parliament for CILT Nigeria. “Project 2027 is not just an ambition; it is an institutional legacy we must achieve together.”

"We will build stronger partnerships with CILT International, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, and the African Development Bank (AFDB) positioning Nigeria as the logistics nerve centre of West Africa. CILT Nigeria must not be a local observer but a regional leader in logistics transformation."

He urged members, “Let us build an Institute that every member is proud to call home, a home that is strong in fellowship, credible in advocacy, and visionary in impact.”

The outgoing President, Barr. Mfon Ekong Usoro, in her address highlighted the gains of her administration from stronger governance to the expansion of partnerships and deeper global integration. “We stopped the practice of remitting foreign currency through friends abroad. We implemented strict processes through CILT’s domiciliary accounts.”

The former Director-General of NIMASA expressed confidence in her successor, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, describing his emergence as the beginning of a new chapter of consolidation and institutional maturity.
“The leadership handover signals a renewed phase of growth and consolidation for CILT Nigeria.”

During the event, some of the distinguished guests charted the road ahead for CILT Nigeria under the leadership of Dr. Oyeyemi. They also received adistinguished awards during the ceremony.

The former Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN who chaired the occasion was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Dimeji Sofowora. He noted that CILT must embrace emerging technologies or risk lagging behind in a rapidly evolving global logistics marketplace. “The world of logistics and transport us undergoing rapid and unprecedented transformation. Innovation now serves as the core engine driving global competitiveness. Technology has become the new infrastructure reshaping how goods are produced, stored, transported, paid for, and delivered. Intelligent transport systems, automated warehousing, and smart traffic management are present realities that determine national competitiveness.”

Fashola celebrated Oyeyemi’s data-driven leadership, recalling his FRSC legacy.
“Every crash had a cause, and if the cause could be identified, it could be prevented,” describing Oyeyemi as a “focused leader” with a record of measurable outcomes.

Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka who is the Special Guest of Honour at the event added moral and historical depth to the moment. “Road safety is a very scientific process, decisions about speed, road design and vehicle standards are never whimsical.”

Soyinka, who pioneered Nigeria’s earliest road safety efforts decades ago, charged Oyeyemi to innovate boldly. “Congratulations, I fully expect to see innovations during your presidency. And I know that you have a collaboration of even the special marshals who are not employees but volunteers who dedicate themselves to the principle of right to life.” he declared.

Further, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, represented by Mrs. Baphne Shahoma, delivered an inspirational tribute to the new president. Lauding Oyeyemi’s public service record, he emphasized the need for legitimacy, qualification standards, and deeper compliance within the logistics profession as he also charged the incoming administration to rely on the experience of the outgoing president, Barr. Mfon Usoro. “If you need counsel, don't go anywhere else. Start with her, unless she is unavailable at any point. She is supposed to be your partner and bilaterally engage as much as you can. Take as much as you can from her because she is a reservoir of information and she has access that I am sure she is willing to share with you. Your selection was by destiny that now places in your hands the compass for greatness in CILT.”

In his goodwill message, the Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola represented by Mr. Igwe Kingsley, Registrar/CEO of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) stressed the urgency of professionalizing freight logistics in Nigeria. He also noted that bridging the gap between CILT, the Ministry, CRFFN, and frontline practitioners is essential for a competitive logistics ecosystem. “Let me emphasize that under your leadership, the task before the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is strengthening professionalism in freight forwarding and logistics practices. The Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy recognizes CILT as a strategic partner in building a globally competitive logistics ecosystem. We remain committed to deepening our partnership to enhance efficiency, connectivity and competitiveness across Nigeria’s logistics value chain,” the Minister reiterated.

FRSC RS2 Zonal Commander, ACM Ann Oladayo Goes On Special Intervention Patrol To Ensure Safety In Lagos, Ogun Corridors Ahead Yuletide Season

By Oki O. Samson

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS2 Zonal Command, Lagos yesterday Wednesday 26th November began a focused three-day Special Intervention Patrol along the Lagos-Ibadan and Shagamu-Ijebu Ode corridors as the Agency ramps up sensitization and enforcement ahead of the busy Yuletide season. The exercise which was personally led by the Zonal Commanding Officer of Zone RS2 HQ, Assistant Corps Marshal, ACM Ann O. Oladayo moved from Ojota to Otedola bridge to Berger to Ogunmakin through Shagamu, Ogere, Mowe/Ibafo and terminated at Ojota, where a mobile court was deployed to prosecute flagrant offenders. This special patrol operation is a precursor to the nationwide “Operation Zero” enforcement which will be flagged off by the Corps Marshal of FRSC, Mallam Shehu Mohammed and will be intensified across the country in December, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

Speaking with pressmen during the special patrol operation, the Zone RS2 Commanding Officer, ACM Ann Oladayo described the patrol as deliberate and preventive: “This patrol is a precursor to December’s nationwide operation. It is a pre before the Operation Zero that we will carry out on a large scale across the nation. It is designed to sensitize motorists and ensure communities feel FRSC’s presence before intensified enforcement begins during the first week of December. We are trying to sensitize the public that towards the end of the year like this, we have a lot of vehicular movements on the road and as such there is a need for us to make sure that traffic laws and regulations of the highway are adhered to.”

The Berger–Lagos–Ibadan and Shagamu–Ijebu-Ode corridors that fall within the RS2 zone are among the heavily plied routes in the country, thus it requires utmost attention. During the launch of the 3-day intervention patrol, Oladayo mapped the patrol coverage: Ogunmakin to Shagamu (about 50–60 km), Shagamu to Mowe/Ibafo (roughly 30–35 km), and Mowe/Ibafo to Ojota (20–25 km). The patrol sweep covered approximately 100–110 kilometres of the arterial highway. The three-day exercise is intended to clear obstructions, check vehicle fitness, curb speeding and clamp down on other behaviours that trigger crashes at year-end.

“Our aim is clear,” Oladayo told the newsmen. “Our strategic goal is to reduce fatalities by at least 10 per cent this year. That is why we are here. We want to ensure that we don't have all these crashes on our highway. We do not want to be carrying dead bodies on our roads, especially at this time of the year.”

She said the bulk of crashes are preventable and attributed them to poor driving culture which includes impatience, noncompliance with traffic rules, drink-driving, overloading and mechanically faulty vehicles. “We don't want to associate this time of the year with tragedies, that people must die on the roads. That is not so. Many of these incidents are caused by simple disregard for road regulations it is a result of lack of adherence to road signs, laws and our attitude towards driving on the road,” she added.

During the exercise, the team from RS2 HQ combined enforcement tools such as mobile courts, radar guns for speed checks and patrols targeting improperly latched trailers and overloaded vehicles, with public sensitization. A mobile court at Ojota was put in place to fast-track prosecution of offenders. Oladayo urged motorists to adopt basic, lifesaving practices: inspect vehicles before departure; ensure tyres, brakes and lights are roadworthy; fasten seat belts; avoid alcohol before driving; observe speed limits; and stop overloading. “Safety is everybody’s responsibility. Nobody has a monopoly on the use of the road,” she said, warning specifically about trailers with unsecured loads. “Any small crash involving an unlatched trailer can become a total disaster.”

This intervention spans both Lagos and Ogun states and represents a coordinated approach between state commands within RS2 HQ. The joint posture signals that FRSC will maintain heightened visibility ahead of and during the Yuletide season. The patrol which will conclude on Friday is a warm-up for the comprehensive Operation Zero enforcement that the FRSC will mount in December.
