LSSTF ES/CEO, Ogunsan Marks 100 Days In Office; Reels Out Achievements, Moves to Refurbish 30 Police Stations in Lagos

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD
.

The Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan yesterday reel out his achievements to marked 100 days since assumption of office at the helms of the funding agency, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. Ogunsan was appointed into the office by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday 31 October 2025.

In a press briefing with selected security editors which was held at the LSSTF HQ in Alausa Ikeja, Dr. Ogunsan noted that over the years, the Fund has played a strategic role in providing operational equipment, supporting infrastructure development, and facilitating capacity building for security agencies operating within the State. This feat is done by mobilising resources from corporate organisations, public institutions, and well-meaning individuals to strengthen the security architecture of Lagos.

He disclosed his achievements so far, 'In my first 100 days in office, my immediate focus was on strengthening the financial base of the Fund through strategic fundraising and stakeholder engagement. We introduced new fundraising channels, including crowdfunding initiatives, while also intensifying engagement with private sector organisations, public institutions, and individuals who share our vision of a safer Lagos.'

'One of the major highlights of this period was the successful organisation of a high-level fundraising breakfast meeting, which brought together key public and private sector stakeholders. This engagement further reinforced the shared responsibility of security and strengthened confidence in the work of the Fund. I am pleased to report that within this period, we recorded several important achievements. We successfully revived retail donation channels to encourage broader public participation in supporting security initiatives. We introduced the LSSTF Monitoring Team to ensure proper tracking, accountability, and maintenance of assets provided for security agencies. We injected an additional 80 operational and patrol vehicles into the Lagos security space to strengthen rapid response and visibility and more is still on its way.'

'We secured a sole donor to build a permanent office complex for the Fund, which will further enhance coordination, efficiency, and service delivery. The construction of the building has commenced and it should be delivered by October this year.

He continued: 'Within this period, we hosted a highly productive Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, which provided an opportunity for open engagement between security agencies, government, and the public. Deserving and dedicated security officers were recognised and honoured through awards, in appreciation of their sacrifice and commitment to keeping Lagos safe, at the Town Hall Meeting. In addition, we successfully held a very impactful breakfast meeting involving Lagos public and private sector stakeholders hosted by Mr. Governor, which further strengthened the collaboration and support for security funding initiatives. We are also proud to report that we secured donations of vehicles from automobile manufacturers operating within Lagos. Furthermore, we extended our support to tertiary institutions across the State through the donation of security vehicles and equipment to improve campus safety.'

Understanding the importance of human capacity in security management, we supported advocacy campaigns to encourage Lagos youths to join the Police and other security agencies, thereby supporting manpower development and youth employment.

During this period, we also maintained frequent and robust engagements with all security agencies operating within Lagos State to ensure alignment, responsiveness, and effective deployment of resources.

Importantly, we have embarked on statewide repairs and restoration of abandoned Armoured Personnel Carriers, returning them to operational use.

On the plans moving forward, the LSSTF boss, Dr. Ogunsan stated: 'In the next 100 days, the Fund will deepen its operational impact across several key priority areas. We will commence statewide training programmes for security agencies, ensuring that officers across the State are equipped with modern knowledge, tactical skills, and professional standards required for effective service delivery. We will also procure more security equipment and operational accessories to further strengthen the capacity of security agencies to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging threats.'

'The Fund will work towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigeria Police Airwing to support aerial surveillance across Lagos State, this will include the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS) as known as drones, which will significantly enhance intelligence gathering, rapid response capability, and coordinated security operations. In addition, the Fund will roll out statewide public enlightenment and sensitisation campaigns against crime and other social vices, aimed at strengthening community participation in security and promoting responsible civic behaviour. We will also collaborate with the Police and the Ministry of Basic Education in Lagos State to establish Safer School Patrol initiatives, designed to improve security presence around schools and enhance the safety of students, teachers, and school communities.'

Ogunsan harped on financial and material support of Lagosians for LSSTF to achieve its goals. 'The Fund will intensify efforts to bring more Lagosians into the security funding net, encouraging wider public participation and ownership of security support initiatives across the State. We believe that these strategic actions will significantly improve professionalism, enhance service delivery, strengthen operational effectiveness, and ensure better management and administration of assets provided by the Fund.'

'In today’s rapidly evolving security environment, it has become even more important to strengthen partnerships, embrace innovation, and ensure that our security agencies are properly equipped and supported. We are also engaging some key stakeholders to partner with us towards the renovation of dilapidated and damaged Police stations, helping to improve working conditions for officers and service delivery to the public.'

He concluded by expressing gratitude to Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the LSSTF Board of Trustees, corporate partners, security agencies, all the organisations and individuals that have made donations to the Fund within the last 100 days, and restated his commitment to best practices, 'The Lagos State Security Trust Fund remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, innovation, and strong partnerships. We will continue to work closely with the Lagos State Government, security agencies, the private sector, and the good people of Lagos to build a safer, more secure, and more resilient State.'

PoliticsGlobacom Donates ₦1 Billion To Lagos State Security Trust Fund by Godspowerpro(op): 4:29am On Feb 07
Deepens Commitment to Public Safety and Shared Prosperity

Psalms 150:6 NIV
[6] Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord
.

In a landmark gesture underscoring its enduring commitment to national development and public safety, Globacom has donated ₦1 billion to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), to strengthen security infrastructure across Nigeria’s commercial capital. The contribution stands among the most significant private-sector interventions from the telecommunications industry to the Fund in recent years and reinforces Globacom’s position as a responsible and patriotic corporate citizen.

The donation follows Globacom’s participation in the LSSTF-organised Private Sector Breakfast Meeting with CEOs, hosted by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, January 30, 2026. The high-level forum emphasised deeper collaboration between government and business on security, innovation and economic resilience—an agenda Globacom has consistently supported through sustained social investment.

Expressing appreciation, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Fund, Dr Ayo Ogunsan, described Globacom’s gesture as “a powerful demonstration of corporate citizenship and a strategic investment in the stability of Lagos State.” He noted that the LSSTF was established to bridge funding gaps in security infrastructure and therefore relies heavily on voluntary contributions from corporate bodies and well-meaning partners.

According to Dr Ogunsan, the ₦1 billion donation will significantly enhance the Fund’s capacity to address critical priorities for 2026, including multipurpose security helicopters and drones, Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), water cannons, digital communication equipment and Smart CCTV systems.
These assets are central to proactive policing, rapid response and intelligence-led operations across the state.

Reacting to the development, a senior executive of Globacom described the donation as an extension of the company’s long-standing belief in Nigeria’s future. “At Globacom, we see security not as a government burden alone, but as a shared responsibility. When people feel safe, enterprise grows, creativity flourishes and hope becomes practical,” the official said. “Our support for the LSSTF is about protecting the everyday dreams of millions of Lagosians.”

Globacom’s intervention is consistent with its long-standing approach to social responsibility—practical, timely and aligned with national priorities. Over the past decade, the company has supported relief efforts for flood-affected communities, assisted displaced persons, advanced youth skills through structured training programmes, and invested in education, culture and digital inclusion. These initiatives reflect a philosophy of giving that privileges institutional impact over personal acclaim.

Dr Ogunsan also urged Lagosians to support organisations that invest in the safety and development of the state. “When companies step forward to secure our environment, residents should reciprocate by patronising them. Their support directly impacts the protection of lives, property and economic activity,” he said.

By strengthening the LSSTF, Globacom is investing directly in the conditions that enable commerce to thrive—safety, confidence and stability. With this support, the Fund is poised to scale its interventions further, reinforcing Lagos State’s position as the country’s safest and most vibrant commercial hub.
As Lagos continues its journey toward global competitiveness, Globacom’s partnership with the LSSTF stands as a model of how the private sector can help secure shared prosperity.

In an industry built on signals, Globacom’s clearest signal remains trust—earned through consistency, conscience and action.

Security Boost for Lagos as Mikano Motors Hands Over Max Pickup Fleet to LSSTF

Psalms 150:6 NIV
[6] Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

PoliticsSanwo-Olu: Governing Lagos Intentionally By Oluwaseyi Adedotun by Godspowerpro(op):
Behind the evolving admirable Lagos, is an intentional governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who leaves nothing to chance. Oluwaseyi Adedotun writes.

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD
.

When Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu assumed leadership of Lagos State, he inherited a sprawling urban engine with immense potential and equally complex challenges.

Yet, what has distinguished his leadership is not merely the scale of projects delivered, but the intentionality behind them – the disciplined alignment of vision, policy and institutions toward a deliberate, integrated and sustainable transformation of Lagos.

From his first day in office, Sanwo-Olu understood that Lagos offers no grace period. Governance demanded real-time problem-solving, visible leadership and strategic foresight.

This lived experience shaped a philosophy that blends hands-on action with long-term planning. It also ensures that policies are not isolated interventions but interconnected levers of development.

Under Sanwo-Olu, intentional governance means that no policy stands alone. It also moves the governance from the pedestal of reactionary to proactiveness.

Transformation efforts in social service delivery like Transport, Education, Art, Culture and Entertainment, Health, Agriculture, Housing, Human Capital and Security and Enterprise Development, are deliberately designed to reinforce one another.

Sustainability is embedded into the architecture of governance, so that projects, institutions and reforms endure beyond electoral cycles.

This philosophy is expressed through the administration’s strategic blueprint – the THEMES Agenda, which integrates Transportation and Traffic Management, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st-Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism, and Security and Governance, expanded into THEMES+ to embed social inclusion, gender equity and youth empowerment.

Through this framework, Lagos is governed as a living system, where infrastructure powers commerce, education fuels enterprise, culture propels tourism, health safeguards productivity, housing anchors dignity, and governance ensures sustainability.

Specifically, Transportation, the first pillar of THEMES, best illustrates intentional governance in action. Lagos has moved from reactive traffic management to a strategic, multimodal mobility ecosystem integrating rail, road and waterways into a single economic enabler.

The Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2 and the Red Line from Ebute Metta to Badagry have carried millions of commuters, slashing travel times, easing congestion and unlocking new commercial corridors.

It is judicious to conclude that planning for the Green Line and the Fourth Mainland Bridge is not simply about moving vehicles; it is about deliberately reshaping Lagos’ economic geography, reducing logistics costs and integrating dense mainland communities with island business districts.

Sanwo-Olu’s intentionality is also in display in transport investments, which are not incidental, as road infrastructure is intentionally designed to feed the rail system and open up communities that were hitherto disconnected.

The Opebi-Odo-Iyaláro-Ojota Link Road and Bridge, popularly known as the Opebi-Mende Link Road, also exemplifies this intentionality. It created a critical east-west connector, where none existed, linking residential and commercial districts, shortening travel times and unlocking new economic activity.

Across the state, road reconstruction in Alimosho, Ifako-Ijaiye, Amuwo-Odofin and Badagry axis deliberately complement rail investments.

Same as the rail-grade separation bridges in Ebute Metta, Yaba, Mushin, Oshodi, Ikeja and Agege. They were embedded in a design that saves lives, unlocks micro-economic hubs and stimulates inclusive commerce.

In Sanwo-Olu’s Lagos, with the intentionality deployed in its design, transport is not just a civic service; it is a strategic tool for productivity, trade and national competitiveness, with link roads ensuring that connectivity is universal, and not exclusive.

Health policy formulation and execution reflects the same intentional integration. The revitalisation of health infrastructure, including the historic Massey Street Children’s Hospital, demonstrates a deliberate commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable and at the same time strengthening Lagos’ human capital pipeline.

Massey is not merely a hospital project; first of its kind in size, it is a strategic investment in child survival, maternal health and long-term productivity.

Alongside the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme, “Ilera Eko”, health insurance expansion and modernised general hospitals, Lagos is building a health system that protects livelihoods, reduces catastrophic health spending and anchors economic growth on a healthy population.

Education has also been intentionally reshaped to produce economically empowered citizens, not just certificate holders.

The reintroduction of the Comprehensive Secondary School model and the expansion of technical and vocational education through the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, reflect a deliberate shift toward skills-based learning.

By establishing comprehensive schools where students graduate with industry-relevant competencies, Lagos is deepening its MSME, manufacturing, technology and creative ecosystems.

The intentional approach of Sanwo-Olu to governance is packaging education as economic policy – a multiplier that converts classrooms into engines of national productivity.

In arts, culture and entertainment, the global recognition as one of six Arts destinations for 2026, by Artsy is not an accident. Cultural renaissance, creatives and entertainment sit at the heart of Sanwo-Olu’s economic strategy.

From Day One, the creative sector was positioned as a driver of jobs, tourism, global branding and urban identity.

Several Festivals of Arts, Culture and Entertainment, instituted are well calculated initiatives by the administration, now yielding results in the form of job creation, revenue generation and promotion of commerce and trade among others.

Cultural Festivals such as Adamu Orisa (Eyo) and the Door of Return, etc, are tools targeted at revitalised cultural institutions and offer deliberate support for entertainment and tourism.

Through deliberate effort at preserving the cultural identity of Lagos, Sanwo-Olu’s policies have transformed Lagos into a year-round destination.

In 2026, Lagos will take its place on the world’s art itinerary following its naming by Artsy as one of the top global art destinations, alongside Venice, Sydney and Doha.

With ART X Lagos, the Lagos Biennial and the permanent home of the Àkéte Collection and Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, this global recognition is not accidental; it is the product of intentional governance, a model that treats culture as economic infrastructure and identity as a strategic asset.

In agriculture and food security, Sanwo-Olu’s intentionality is equally evident. The Produce for Lagos agreement with Niger State is a regional economic strategy, not a standalone project.

With a ₦500 billion agro-investment window, Lagos is poised to effectively sustain security, affordability and availability, while also empowering farmers beyond its borders.

Multi-level food hubs now create jobs across the edibles value chain, proving that Lagos’s policies are locally relevant yet nationally transformative.

Housing is treated as both economic and social infrastructure. With over 12,000 housing units delivered across the state, the administration has intentionally linked shelter to productivity, reducing commuting burdens, stabilising communities and enabling inclusive growth.

These are not isolated estates. They are integrated developments with premeditation connection to transport, services and jobs. Sanwo-Olu’s intentional manner of governance is reinforcing the fact that housing is central to achieving the Greater Lagos ambition of a 21 Century Mega City.

Likewise, Security under Sanwo-Olu is pursued as an economic enabler. Through institutional coordination, technology deployment and community partnership, Lagos has strengthened safety and public confidence.

Notably, the state has recorded only a single case of bank robbery in the last seven years, a powerful indicator of deliberate, intelligence-driven security governance.

Through the instrumentality of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSSTF), the Sanwo-Olu-led administration has sustained its pragmatic approach to security, by providing logistic and motivational support to all security outfits in the state.

Sanwo-Olu’s policies are the type that adopt responsibility, not because it is under its constitutional obligations, but because it prioritises humanity over administrative bottlenecks and political correctness.

Lagos State Government, through the Fund has donated hundreds of vehicles, boots and other logistics to the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), the Military and other Federal Government-owned security organisations.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a police regiment dedicated to security requests from members of the public, and the Special Environmental Task Force, a mixed uniform squad ensures enforcement of environmental laws.

Social safety is equally intentional. Programmes such as EkoCares demonstrate that inclusion is not charity but a strategy to stabilise society, protect demand and sustain growth.

Through skills acquisition centres, enterprise development programmes and targeted financial support, Lagos has intentionally deepened its MSME ecosystem, especially for women and youth.

In the 2024/2025 cohort alone, 5,309 graduates completed training across 211 skills acquisition centres, while more than 30,000 Lagosians have been trained over the past five to six years.

These are productivity interventions that reduce unemployment, strengthen social stability and expand Nigeria’s economic base.

Sanwo-Olu’s leadership is defined by visibility and service. His administration measures success not by policy documents but by lived realities, resilience, opportunity and the daily experience of Lagosians.

He engages communities, adapts constantly to the city’s complexity and leads with purpose. When asked how he wishes to be remembered, he says simply: “As a leader who gave his all, helped people advance personally and economically, and left Lagos better than he met it.”

Under his stewardship, Lagos has emerged as a global economic heavyweight, with a city GDP estimated at US$259.75 billion (PPP), placing it among Africa’s largest urban economies.

National commendations, including from President Bola Tinubu for landmark rail and infrastructure projects, affirm that Lagos’ trajectory contributes meaningfully to Nigeria’s broader development goals.

What defines Sanwo-Olu’s Lagos is intentional governance in action: integration, sustainability and strategic foresight.

From multimodal transport that fuels commerce, to skills-driven education that creates tomorrow’s workforce; from regional agriculture partnerships that secure food systems, to culturally anchored growth that positions Lagos on the global stage; from health infrastructure that protects human capital, to housing that restores dignity; and from security that stabilises society, to enterprise support that expands opportunity, policies are vehicles for transformation.

This is as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Force’s capacity to combat modern financial and cyber-enabled crimes. The programme, which runs from Monday, January 12 to Wednesday, January 14, 2026, is held at Best Western (BWC) Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

In his keynote address, IGP Egbetokun described the training as a “critical step in strengthening Nigeria’s response to modern financial crime.” He was ably represented at the opening ceremony by the Commissioner of Police, Department of Training and Development, CP Eloho E. Okpoziakpo.

The IGP noted that digital trading platforms, online forex markets, and cross-border transactions are increasingly being exploited for fraud, illicit financial flows, and organised criminal activities, therefore, “building advanced investigative capacity in this area is essential to safeguarding Nigeria’s financial system, protecting investors, disrupting criminal financing networks, and reinforcing national security.”

According to the IGP, the programme is designed to equip participating officers with a comprehensive understanding of the digital financial ecosystem, including the structure and operations of digital trading and foreign exchange markets, legitimate trading practices, emerging fraud typologies, and investigative red flags. This, he noted, is vital for distinguishing lawful investment activities from fraudulent schemes and improving investigative accuracy and professionalism. He urged participants to approach the training with discipline and professionalism, stressing that the knowledge gained must be shared within their respective units to strengthen investigations and enhance public trust.

“Financial crime is a major enabler of violent crimes such as terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, arms trafficking, and transnational organised crime,” IGP Egbetokun emphasised. “Strengthening our capacity to investigate digital trading abuses and forex-related fraud is a direct investment in national security and public safety.”

Egbetokun expressed the profound appreciation of the Nigeria Police Force to HF Markets Nigeria Limited (HFM) and its partners for their strategic support, describing the collaboration as a model of effective public–private partnership in line with United Nations principles, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards, and Nigeria’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) obligations.

“As financial and cyber-enabled crimes continue to transcend national borders, partnerships of this nature strengthen investigative capacity, enhance regulatory compliance, and support financial intelligence efforts,” he said, adding that such engagements promote global financial integrity, economic stability, and investor confidence," he stated.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director of HF Markets Nigeria Ltd, Mr. Ope Abiola, said the training was conceived to provide investigators with clarity on how digital trading and forex transactions work, distinguish legitimate market losses from criminal deception, and define responsibilities within the financial ecosystem. He stressed that the programme was structured to be neutral, evidence-based, and investigative in tone.

A goodwill message was also delivered by financial markets analyst, Mr. Heritage Adisa, who commended the Nigeria Police Force for partnering with the private sector to deepen understanding of digital financial markets. He noted that the ability to separate genuine market activity from criminal conduct is critical for effective investigations and investor protection.

The training draws participants from key formations of the Nigeria Police Force, including the Cybercrime Unit, Anti-Fraud Section, INTERPOL National Central Bureau, Anti-Money Laundering Units, Police Special Fraud Unit, Forensic Section, State and Zonal Criminal Investigation Departments, as well as other specialised investigative units. Officers involved in counter-terrorism financing, kidnapping and ransom payment tracking are also participating, reflecting the link between financial crimes and violent criminal activities.

Senior officers and special guests at the human capacity training includes; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zonal CID, Zone 2, DCP Fakeye Olubunmi; Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC General Investigation, Force CID, Alagbon, DCP Odubona O. Oludotun; Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Anti-Fraud, Force CID, Alagbon, DCP Olayinka Ajeigbe; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit, ACP Uduak Edet; Compliance Officer, HF Markets, Mrs. Victoria Ogunbiyi; Business Development Manager, HF Markets, Mr. Olumide Oderinde and Marketing Manager, HF Markets, Mrs. Oluwakemi Adebiyi among others.

FRSC Zonal Commander, ACM Oladayo Visits Anthony Joshua's Vehicle Accident Scene For Post Assessment; Urges Caution, Reassures Corps' Swift Response

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to rapid emergency response and road safety enforcement following a fatal crash on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State involving world-renowned boxer, Anthony Joshua and his team, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

The Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) of the FRSC RS2 Lagos Zone, Assistant Corps Marshal, ACM Ann O. Oladayo, today Tuesday conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the accident scene, following widespread public interest and conflicting reports surrounding the incident that occurred yesterday.

Speaking with pressmen during the assessment visit, ACM Oladayo said the inspection was necessary to establish the true facts, noting that some FRSC operatives were already present at the corridor when the crash occurred yesterday. “A lot of reports are out there, but we decided to come for an eyewitness account because some of our operatives were here when it happened. We needed to ascertain what actually occurred,” she said.

According to the FRSC, preliminary findings from eyewitnesses revealed that a trailer conveying soya beans was properly parked off the road, waiting to be offloaded, when a speeding vehicle conveying popular international boxing champion, Anthony Joshua and his friends ran into it. “From what we gathered, the truck was not on the road. It was waiting to be offloaded and was well off the carriageway when the vehicle ran into it,” Oladayo explained.

She dismissed claims that the FRSC failed to respond promptly, stressing that the Corps arrived at the scene within minutes. “Immediately we heard of the incident, we were here in under three minutes. Our priority was rescue. Unfortunately, we lost two lives, but the injured were rescued and taken for medical attention,” she said.

The Zonal Commander added that suspected over-speeding and possible wrongful overtaking were being investigated as likely causes of the crash, noting that the impact force which pulled out the trailer’s tyres suggested excessive speed. “On this highway, the speed limit is 100km/h. From the impact, it is likely that the vehicle exceeded that limit. Investigation is still ongoing,” she stated.

An eyewitness, Yusuf Ajala Oluwaseun, who was at the scene when the crash occurred, blamed persistent speeding along the highway. “We just heard a loud boom. At first, we thought it was a tyre burst. People overspeed a lot on this road. Just last week, an 18-seater bus speeding here hit a man and overturned. FRSC came and rescued the victims,” he said.

Another eyewitness, Sodiq Ayo, confirmed the swift arrival of emergency responders of FRSC and described the moments after the crash. “I heard a sound and came out. People were shouting that someone was still inside the Jeep. When we realised it was Anthony Joshua, everyone gathered, a lot of people were doing video of Anthony Joshua. But before people arrived fully, FRSC came and rescued them,” he recounted.

The FRSC Zonal Commander, Oladayo noted that the damaged trailer has been moved to its facility using a heavy-duty tow truck, while the SUV involved in the crash is currently in the custody of the Ogun State Police Command, as investigations continue. She used the opportunity to caution motorists to plan their journeys properly, avoid over-speeding and reckless overtaking, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before travelling.

“I feel so, so happy. I feel so elated. I feel completely fulfilled,” he said, smiling broadly. “I feel complete. Everything feels angelic. I feel like a butterfly flying inside of me. I’m so happy today.”
When asked to describe the emotions churning within him, he laughed and replied, “It’s more than a butterfly.”

Speaking about his beautiful bride, his words were tender, reverent, and deeply personal.
“She is my peace,” he said simply. “I always call her a peacemaker. She’s my prayer warrior, my understanding woman. She advises me. She stands by me. What else would a man want?”

Owolabi expressed his gratitude to the family friends and associates who came to make the celebration a memorable one for them. "Thank you for standing by me, all my friends, all my buddies, all my goons. They are so fantastic.
Thank you to all of you. It's only God that can reward you."

The highlight of the day came when the groom stunned everyone, especially his bride, with a dramatic surprise: the presentation of a 2025 Jetour X90+ luxury SUV, unveiled to thunderous applause.
“It’s just for my woman,” Chief Oduntan said. “She deserves everything.”

The bride, Oluwabunmi, resplendent in her exquisitely styled Yoruba bridal ensemble, embodied elegance, grace, and uncontainable joy. Her beaming smile told a story words could barely capture.
“My joy is full,” she said. “I am super, super excited. I just give God all the thanks.”

Describing her husband, she paused briefly, then laughed softly. “They say nobody is perfect, but my man is near perfect 99.999,” she said. “He is a gentleman to the core. That was one of the first things that attracted me to him.”

The surprise gift left her visibly emotional. “I never imagined this,” she admitted. “It was beyond my imagination.”

On the popular claim among young Nigerians that marriage is a scam, her response was firm and heartfelt. “There is real love,” she said. “What I’ve experienced is consistency. This man has never loved me less from the first day we met. Love is not about money or material things. It is pure, genuine love.”

With a knowing smile, she added: “They say there is no love in Lagos. I found my own in Lagos.”

From the richly embroidered aso-oke worn by family members to the synchronized elegance of coordinated aso-ebi, Yoruba culture was on full display. Elders exchanged blessings, prayers flowed freely, and tradition merged seamlessly with modern sophistication.

The Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Ademola Idowu captured the essence of the day as he addressed the couple. “When I entered the hall, I had to look around to be sure I was at the right event,” he said. “This is excellence. This is beauty. This is joy.”

His counsel was profound and deliberate. “Let your home be governed by God,” he advised. “Create a prayer corner. Pray together. Talk together. Marriage is not AI. Don’t search technology for answers. Understand yourselves.”

Close friends of the couple echoed a consistent theme that love, commitment, and purpose still define meaningful marriages.
Describing the wedding, Otunba Chief Daramola Charles Adeyinka said: “This is a God-orchestrated wedding. What God has joined together, no man can put asunder.”

On the question of whether marriage is a scam, his response was resolute.
“I’ve been married for over 17 years,” he said. “Marriage is not a scam. Love is not a scam. Marriage is more than feelings. It is understanding, commitment, and purpose.”

A very close family friend and wife of the Aare Bobajoko of Oke-Ayedun, Mrs. Adebola Sonusi said: "I'm glad that I'm here to witness Owolabi and Bunmi starting a new life together. They are amazing people. I've known Owolabi for decades, but I just met Bunmi this year, and she's a lovely lady. I pray that their union will last forever."

"In relationships and marriages, there will always be issues. It's never a bed of roses. You have to go into it knowing that, and with the conviction that your marriage will work. So, my advice is patience, understanding, and the determination to make the marriage work, that divorce is not an option."

Another close friend to the couple who is also the Aare Bobajoko of Oke-Ayedun in Ekiti State, Aare Samson Sonusi, who played a role in planning the surprise SUV gift, described the couple as proof that love transcends differences. “They are from different generations,” he noted. “But love made them speak the same language. Love still exists.”

Speaking further, "These are currently my best persons in the world. That's my brother, my friend, Owolabi who just found a lovely wife in Bumi. I was one of the masterminds behind the surprise SUV gift. So the groom, my friend, just presented his wife a 2025 SUV vehicle today and you can see on her face how shocked and surprised she was. So, it's the least that she deserves. And I can't say more than that. There's a story behind it. For me, this is lovely to see. That's love. Just like their hashtag says, Love Unites Us. So, love has brought them together. And my prayer is that, this love is going to last, we'll be here to celebrate 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 years of their wedding anniversary."

The Head of the bride’s family, Pastor Julius Olufemi spoke with pride.
“This is a thing of joy,” he said. “Owolabi has been an amazing son-in-law. Their love must remain genuine and not based on material things.”

From the groom’s family, Mr. Adebanjo offered a simple but powerful message:
“Let them love themselves deeply in the spirit of God. That is the secret of peace.”

The groom's mother, Mrs. Adeoti Oduntan expressing her gratitude to the Almighty God for the day, prayed for the couple "that they will last long and nothing will put them asunder. They will continue to rise in their businesses and careers."

She encouraged the couple to ensure that matters are settled amicably between themselves. "They should not allow any third party because it is not everyone that has their best interest. The wife should be humble to her husband and respect her in-laws as her own family. She should accord members of the family their due respect. The husband should engage with his wife very well so that they will live together in peace."

As the evening progressed, laughter filled the hall, rich delicacies flowed freely, glasses clinked in celebration, and love took center stage. Beyond the glamour, beyond the luxury, beyond the surprise gifts, what truly defined this wedding is the fact that in a time when cynicism threatens the idea of marriage, the union of Chief Owolabi Oduntan and Oluwabunmi Oduntan stood as a powerful counter-narrative that love still exists and that commitment still matters.

Thank You Jesus
