He emphasized that security remains a shared duty and urged residents to stay alert as festivities peak across the state and country. “Christmas reminds us of the power of love, sacrifice and collective responsibility,” Dr. Ogunsan said.

“As families gather to celebrate, I encourage all Nigerians, especially Lagos residents, to remain security-conscious, report suspicious activities promptly and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to prevent avoidable threats during this festive period. Lagos Govt Frowns at Incessant Road Accidents, Threatens Impoundment, Other Disciplinary Actions On Transporters, Drivers

Despite sustained crime prevention strategies that have ensured relative peace across Lagos State in the Yuletide season, a disturbing rise in horrific road accidents has triggered decisive action by the Lagos State Government. This development led to an emergency multi-agency meeting, which was held on Tuesday, 23rd December, at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja. The Nigeria Police, as the lead internal security agency, coordinated the meeting, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

The session brought together critical stakeholders responsible for road safety, traffic management, infrastructure and emergency response.

In attendance were Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF); Mr. Peter Gbejemede, Director of Operations representing the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki; DCC Adeyemi O. Bashina, Deputy Corps Commander (Operations), representing the Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), CC Kehinde Hamzat; Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service; and a representative of the Federal Controller of Works.

Senior police officers present includes the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Operations, Lagos Command, DCP Lawal Adeshina Bamidele; Area Commander, Area F, ACP Paul Okafor Azuka; Area Commander, Area H, ACP Sholla Omilade; Area Commander, Area B, ACP Onyinye Onwuamaegbu; ACP Abayomi; CSP Shittu, Administrative Officer, Lagos Command; and SP Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos Command.

Speaking with the press, the Executive Secretary CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan at the meeting hinted that the Lagos State Government is worried about the ugly tide of gory road traffic accidents and is therefore proactive to stem the situation in which lives are lost needlessly. He noted that the government approved the meeting to ensure a coordinated, intelligence-driven and solution-oriented response by all agencies responsible for road safety and traffic management.

According to him, 'the presence of the Police, FRSC, LASTMA, Fire and Rescue Service and other stakeholders underscored the seriousness with which the government views the matter, especially in this season of influx of local and foreign guests. Lagos, as a global city and economic nerve centre, must uphold the highest standards of safety on its roads.'

The LSSTF CEO assured stakeholders that the state government would continue to provide critical logistical and operational support to security and safety agencies to enhance enforcement, emergency response and public education.

Dr. Ogunsan called on transport unions, fleet operators and motorists to take collective responsibility, warning that the government would fully back strict enforcement against recklessness, overloading and violation of traffic laws. He added that preventing road accidents is not only a law enforcement duty but a shared civic obligation to protect lives and sustain Lagos’ economic vitality.

On his part, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh said the meeting was convened to confront the recent spike in fatal road crashes and restore order on Lagos roads. “The directive of Mr. Governor of Lagos State is that all agencies of both the federal and state government that have responsibility in ensuring security and safety on the highway should meet to look at the present situation of traffic and the recurring fatal motor accidents,”

"To the glory of God, we've been able to exemplify our operational activities to show that the Ember months can be crime-free months. From September to date, there have not been any major or serious concern of crime or criminality throughout the state, and in the fringes of Ogun State, to Epe, Ikorodu down to the waterside, we've ensured massive deployment. That's to let you know the support that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has been giving to the Command is very immense," Jimoh said.

He stressed that while accidents were not necessarily alarming for a city of over 23 million people, reckless driving would no longer be tolerated. “Driving has rules, it has guidelines, and it’s a procedure that you need to follow in accordance with the Road Traffic Act.”

Jimoh announced that they will adopt a series of actions including inter-agency meetings, joint enforcement operations, increased policing of pedestrian bridges and stricter monitoring of articulated vehicles, particularly trucks and tankers operating beyond approved limits, and impoundment of erring vehicles. “Our joint enforcement team will be working on a regular basis to ensure that we promptly arrest and prosecute every driver in this regard.”

Representative of FRSC, DCC Adeyemi Bashina highlighted the Corps’ Safe to Load initiative. “If you go to all the tank farms where they load PMS in Lagos, we have our officials there with a checklist to ensure that any vehicle that wants to lift fuel satisfies standards,” which he said has brought about a sharp reduction in tanker explosions.

Also, LASTMA’s Mr. Peter Gbejemede said the collaboration would strengthen incident management and public compliance. “With the cooperation of the Police Command, the FRSC, and other security agencies, traffic accidents will reduce drastically,” he assured.

PoliticsPolice Arrests Lagos Housewife, Misturah Bada Who Faked Her Kidnap by Godspowerpro(op): 2:26pm On Dec 21, 2025
Extorts N2.5m from South Africa based Husband

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old housewife, Misturah Bada, and her alleged accomplice, Adedamola Daniel, over a staged kidnapping that led to the extortion of N2.5m from her husband based in South Africa.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command's Spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi stated that, "Operatives of the Command Special Squad have arrested a housewife, Mrs. Misturah Bada ‘f’, aged 26 years, alongside her cohort, Adedamola Daniel ‘m’, aged 30 years, for false kidnapping, conspiracy, and extortion."

According to the statement, "On 24 November 2025 at about 2200 hours, the Command received a distress call from the husband, through one of the emergency numbers, reporting that his wife, Mrs. Misturah Bada, had allegedly been kidnapped by armed men who demanded a ransom of ₦10 million, later reduced to ₦3 million. A sum of ₦2.5 million was subsequently paid by the husband, Mr. Bada, an innocent Nigerian resident in South Africa, yet the supposed kidnappers refused to release the victim."

"Upon receipt of the complaint, human and technical assets of the Command Special Squad were immediately deployed to track the alleged kidnappers. The alleged victim, Mrs. Misturah Bada, was released and reunited with her family. After which she was invited and debriefed, during which she claimed that she was kidnapped by six armed men driving a silver Toyota Venza, taken to their stronghold, and dispossessed of her iPhone 12 Pro Max. She further stated that the ransom of ₦2.5 million was first paid into her bank account before being handed over to the kidnappers."

"Further investigation, however, uncovered inconsistencies in her claims. On 3 December 2025, operatives arrested Adedamola Daniel in the Ede area of Osun State. A SIM card used to register the WhatsApp account through which ransom negotiations were conducted was recovered from him. During interrogation, he confessed that the suspect Misturah Bada had requested the use of his SIM card to open the WhatsApp account used for the ransom negotiations and that he provided the OTP sent to his line, which enabled her to successfully operate the account."

"Following his confession, Mrs. Misturah Bada was confronted and she admitted to faking her own kidnapping in order to extort money from her husband, who resides in South Africa. Further investigation led to the recovery of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which Mrs. Bada had earlier claimed was with the kidnappers. The phone was recovered from Yusuf Sodiq, aged 34, who admitted that he purchased the phone from her at the rate of ₦380,000, having been warned not to insert any SIM card into it at the time. Investigation into the case is ongoing; Misturah Bada and her accomplices, Adedamola Daniel, will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation."

"The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterates the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and properties and warns members of the public against false reporting, criminal deception, and acts capable of diverting vital security resources. Members of the public are encouraged to continue their lawful activities and promptly report any suspicious acts or movements to the Police through the Command’s emergency number: 0706 101 9374, 0806 515 4338, 0806 329 9264, 0803 934 4870."

Lagos Police Cracks Vicious Fake Kidnapping Syndicate, Arrest And Detains Five Suspects

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Smart detectives and intelligent operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad of the Lagos State Police Command on Thursday, 18th December, 2025, at about 1300 hours, arrested five (5) suspects in connection with a fake and stage-managed kidnapping incident in a viral video of a schoolboy pleading for mercy in a fake kidnappers’ den.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident, which initially generated widespread public concern, was first reported as a case of a missing person at Ago Palace Division on 26th November, 2025. Subsequent to the investigation, it was established that the alleged kidnap was deliberately orchestrated by the victim himself, one Victor Aligwo ‘m’, in collaboration with four of his friends, using the room of his cohorts, Umeh Victor, to carry out the fake kidnapping act.

Following diligent, intelligence-led, and discreet investigation, the suspects were apprehended on the 17th and 18th of December, 2025, at Volkswagen Roundabout and the Ago Palace area, respectively. The suspects who faked the Kidnapping incident were arrested and are now in police custody. They are Kosiko Patrick ‘m’ 17 years, Victor Aligwo ‘m’ 15 years, David Odudu ‘m’ 19 years, Anyabike Kingsley ‘m’ 20 years, Umeh Victor ‘m’ 19 years.

Further investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly conspired to stage the fake kidnapping with the intent of extorting money from the mother of the suspected victim, Victor Aligwo, who had recently received the sum of Four Million Naira (₦4,000,000) from a contribution.

To actualise and make the fake kidnapping real, the suspects recorded and circulated a distress video showing Victor Aligwo pleading for help, thereby creating fear and panic in the mind of his mother and his family to pay ransom to the alleged kidnappers.

A ransom of One Million, Seven Hundred Thousand Naira (₦1.7 million) was paid and later transferred to the account of one of the fake kidnappers by the mother to get him freed. The money was later shared amongst them. Following the payment, the Police operatives traced the Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal used for the ransom transaction, leading to the arrest of all suspects involved. Investigation into the matter is ongoing, and all the suspects will be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction for their prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has thereby warned all criminal elements to desist from any form of crime and curtailed any form of criminal activities within the state, assuring that the Command will not relent in ensuring the safety of lives and property.

The Command wishes to reassure residents that this incident was not a case of kidnapping, and that there is no cause for panic. Members of the public are encouraged to continue their lawful activities and promptly report any suspicious acts or movements to the Police through the Command’s emergency number: 0706 101 9374, 0806 515 4338, 0806 329 9264, 0803 934 4870.

The Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation has commenced a major healthcare intervention with the provision of free one-year health insurance coverage for 2,000 residents across Kosofe Local Government Area, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. The Kosofe leg of the programme was held yesterday Wednesday 17th December at the Kosofe Local Government Secretariat. It attracted the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local government, Hon. Moyo Ogunlewe, top government officials, community leaders and health sector stakeholders, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

Speaking at the event, the Convener of the Foundation and former Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, said the initiative was driven by gratitude and a sense of responsibility to the community that raised him.

“I was born and raised in Kosofe. I did my primary and secondary education here. Kosofe made me who I am today, and that is why I cannot abandon my people,” he said.

Oshinowo explained that the Foundation purchased health insurance plans for 2,000 beneficiaries to ease access to quality healthcare without financial hardship. “It is wrong for our mothers, fathers and children to lack good healthcare. This is not about politics or contesting elections. It is about giving back and ensuring our people live healthy lives,” he added.

He noted that beneficiaries would be able to choose their preferred primary healthcare centres and continue registration even after the event.

He also disclosed that the Foundation would expand into education, business empowerment, sports development and scholarships. “Being out of office does not mean being out of service. I will continue to serve my people,” he said.

The Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe commended the initiative, describing it as impactful and people-centred. “Healthcare is not a privilege; it is a fundamental human right. This programme ensures that 2,000 families can access medical services without the crushing burden of healthcare costs,” he said.

He praised Oshinowo’s leadership and pledged the council’s support for future collaborations.

Also speaking, Mrs. Tawakalitu Oshinowo, wife of the Convener, thanked stakeholders and partners for their support, emphasizing the Foundation’s commitment to making lasting impact in the community.

Providing technical insight, Dr. Odesesan Rayimat, Director of Medical Services and Disease Control, Lagos State Health District II, explained that the programme falls under the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme LASHMA Ilera Eko HMO. “This is a one-year health insurance package that allows beneficiaries to access care across approved facilities in Lagos State, with referrals and subsidized treatments when necessary,” she said.

The initiative, implemented in collaboration with LASHMA, Ekosocial Health Alliance (EKOSHA), and supported by Samson Agbato Consulting, Ridgewell Construction Co. Ltd., marks a significant step toward expanding access to affordable healthcare in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has constituted the LSSTF Monitoring Team with clear guidelines detailing their baseline expectations, roles, responsibilities, and performance. This is to ensure that all security agencies based in Lagos that benefit from the LSSTF largesse are responsible and responsive to the public goodwill which is reposed on them.

The constitution of the LSSTF Monitoring Team is in fulfillment of the pledge of the Executive Secretary/CEO of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan at the recent Strategic Media Parley with Senior Editors and Media Executives. He had assured the journalists that the era of abuse and misuse of public resources is over.

It will be recalled that Ogunsan outlined his leadership focus at the media Parley which held at the Agency's Headquarters on 5th December 2025. 'Public confidence in the Fund is essential. Under my leadership, transparency will be the standard not the exception. We will, maintain strict oversight on contractor performance, monitor all funded projects closely, publish updates on the utilization of donations, strengthen internal governance and reporting, and deepen stakeholder communication and feedback mechanisms.'

With the LSSTF Monitoring Team duly constituted, Ogunsan gave them the marching orders to include: 'Monitoring and tracking of vehicles and other security assets belonging to RRS; Conducting routine field inspections to determine the state of Fund's assets; Maintaining accurate records of assets deployed by the Fund to the RRS and providing operational reports; Accessing the application of assets provided to the security agencies as a prerequisite for further allocation; Monitoring repairs and refurbishments embarked upon by the Fund; and Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.'

The inauguration and public presentation of a monitoring vehicle to facilitate the efforts of the LSSTF Monitoring Team will be held very soon.

The praiseful and joyous atmosphere of the Symphony of Praise And Worship with Dr. AjokeSings filled the Lagos Continental Hotel during the first edition of the concert on Sunday December 7.

Hundreds from different societal stratas gathered inside the 1,400 capacity Grand African ballroom, to sing praises and to worship the GOD of all Creation

The SPAW Concert was hosted by Dr. Ajoke Olufunmilola Ogunsan of Executive Trainers and convener of the SPAW Talent Quest.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ajoke Ogunsan, also known as Dr AjokeSings, expressed heartfelt gratitude to GOD for making the event possible.

Today is a time of joy, a time of happiness, a time to rejoice and be glad,” Dr. AjokeSings said. “Whatever the situation in the country, we must continue to give thanks. I believe today will bring testimonies and miracles for many.

The SPAW Concert, under the mandate of Dr. AjokeSings and accompanied by her husband, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, featured a host of highly rated Gospel ministers, and a large number of world-class aesthetics, including a colorful photo session, tasty mocktails, savory snacks, a 360 booth and music themed arena, along with a mini orchestral ensemble at the Red carpet.

Emceed by Mary Ayuba and Babajide Terrerra, Pastor Dr. Moses Oladimeji officially commended the occasion into the presence of the Holy Spirit with opening prayers, and Gospel ministers including Praise4one, JTrybe, Eno Michael, Pelumi Deborah, Bata Girl, Limoblaze, AEO, Hope Activate, Lilian Nneji, BeeJay Sax, and Emma OMG led different sessions of Praise And Worship to the Glory of GOD.

Highlight of the concert was the much anticipated entry and performance of songs off the 'Osuba Re' album by Dr. AjokeSings, as the crowd united their voices to sing along to her angelic renditions

There were also sing-alongs to the classic carols, “Silent Night” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by the SPAW Talent Quest finalists, Praise Moses, Dharmie Hilz and Isioma Charles.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Emcees, Mary and Babajide wielded the microphone to give Glory to GOD for the impact the Ogunsans have had on their lives, as Mary dedicated her award as Best MC during her educational years abroad to the Ogunsans

"Dr. Ayo is a father figure who's always there, especially during my studies in Cyprus. Always checking on my welfare and offering progressive ideas all through, which is same way he does with all his 'children'.

Mary continued "Mrs. Ogunsan, on the other hand, a woman of substance, very soft spoken, almost inaudible, but always seeking the growth of those around her. She would always come in an almost whisper manner to ask 'how are things?'. GOD bless and continue to raise them higher in Jesus name"

Babajide, on the other hand, underscored a very large number of students enjoying various scholarships across all levels of education, and how his association with the Ogunsan has helped to skyrocket his career, and "whenever they call, the only question I ask is 'how high?' (should he jump)"

The event continued well into the evening, as participants were unwilling to let the occasion end. And Dr. AjokeSings also appreciated everyone, including dignitaries who came to celebrate GOD'S Grace over her life and endeavors, most especially for joining her to usher in a new era of the Symphony of Praise And Worship.
