Napoleon55: And there is nothing wrong in taking a pay cut to move to a greater club under normal circumstances still, because on the long run,you would see that the benefits may be greater.
If Osimhen is from any country in Europe, he would easily be earning between $350 - 500m in one of the top 3 clubs in Europe by now without any drama. But let's not be blind to put into consideration the part of the world he is coming from and the country in particular, when trying to jettison out those who held that idea. That’s if age is still on his side and he’s not injury prone! |

TheSuperNerd: Wait a minute, Lewy earns between 500-600 //k+ euros/week at Barca??
Osimhen's Gross weekly wage is approximately nearly half of this. If Barca can pay Lewy that figure, then €450k+ gross for Osimhen weekly should not be a problem. He earns 360K gross (115-<200k net figure weekly).
If they are serious, Osimhen will be a Barca player but you never know with Barca's accountants and Laporta. 😂 He should take a wage cut to go to Barca for legacy parole! No be so we Dey talk am here? |

jedisco: Since the bolded is the case, we'd be setting ourselves an unattainable bar by trying to carry the guilt of every migrant who has committed a crime. Of all the millions of migrants world over, some have, are and would commit crimes. If governments already have a motive and are seeking excuses, history has shown us they'd always find one even if all migrants were saints.
Asides the continuous strive to build better communities, I'd only begin to unduly chastise my people if there was evidence that we were overrepresented in certain vices. Even at that, I'd ne clear not to bear responsibility for other peoples actions. I'd say our energies are better focused correcting untrue narratives such as that above about children recent of migrants preventing British born kids from getting school slots. I wish these vices don’t get to the media then one won’t be bothered but in these days where every crime scene is first of all combed to see if a non white is involved then that’s where one can’t just ignore to the extent that even politicians now apportion blame to migrants for car jam or traffic on the road tells you the times we are indeed living in! I wish I don’t have to walk on these eggshells but here we are! |

Kog45: What cracks are you talking about, are you referring to the team or NFF maladministration The team had cracks both in 94 and 98, players, officials and journalists all around both teams alluded to this in several interviews and conversations. Rifts among players, with officials and all sorts! |

Kog45: Do not compared the two teams, total different build up to World Cup,US 94 team had solid preparation and went to US 94 as Africa champion while France 98 missed 96 and 98 Afcon, losing woefully in friendlies, many were surprised by our performance against Spain,do not forget that Rufai, Yekini,Iroha, Eguavoen,Uche Okafor have passed their primes,Daniel Amokachie made the team half fit and mind you Amunike didn't made France 98 team due to knee injury....so total different teams.
That Denmark team (France 98) cannot beat Eagles of US 94. That Denmark team was also not solid as the Italian team in 94. You saying that Italian team was lucky was an overreach and a denial of our shortcomings! Am sure our beating Spain was not by luck ba? Both 94 and 98 teams all fell short when it mattered most. And it’s because we have refused to learned the lessons from that era we can’t even surpass that feat since then and if we are not careful teams like Senegal and Ivory Coast will start getting to the semis of the World Cup while we struggle to qualify and keep deceiving ourselves we were the best in 94. The root of the problem was both teams had cracks and it still continues to be a problem today but let’s keep moving on as if nothing happened! |

Kog45: I thought our discourse was about US 94....if you want us to talk about Nigeria team France 98 then let's talk... The same players went to France 98 true or not? My point I was making earlier that you replied to was that that team quality was better than the second round exit and they fell short of their potential and you said no whether I watched the 94 team, of course they also went to France 98 with excellent additional and world class players like Kanu, taribo, Oruma and babayaro. All the okochas, amokachi, amunike, oliseh, Finidi, Mutiu, ikpeba including Yekini and Rufai were all in that team Abi no be so? Still the same team rated 5th back then! |

The team was rated 5th best team in the World to tell us what a team.
Pls what are you're trying to say regarding the present eagles team cuz you are comparing what I failed to understand And in France 98 Denmark also won by luck! Issorite! |

Kog45: Goke in football or let me say in a team there are issues but with Yekini overall record his teammates did well, common all time highest goal scorer for years... That team would have done much better if they played for each other more than they did and they know it despite the achievements! Our quality and playing style was better than a second round exit from the World Cup. Truth is we haven’t learned anything from that experience and reason we can’t surpass that feat. Those issues still abound today but we can continue to live in denial it’s our choice! |

Kog45: Yekini na my bro,so I followed him passionately from 1983 till he left the stage.I was with him when he came to Ilorin to play against Kwara United after he left Europe for NPFL so we do talks about his time with eagles...Yekini knew Siasia na my person and I told him that pass wey yebowei no give you make Westerhoff benched him....he replied oh Yebowei gave me the highest assists but it happened in football...He talked good about his colleagues.
Pls go into archive and watch eagles US 94 matches to get a very cleared pictures of what happened but from 1983 to 1994 Yekini goals came from unselfish players like Siasia,Finidi,Amokachie, Oliseh,Amunike,Elaho and others That he talked good about his colleagues shows the kind of person Yekini was, were you expecting him to say otherwise? He was only keeping the brothers code! Let’s always be careful not live in denial. If there is anyone who will know about any sabotage it must be the late keshi! Like I said earlier for peace to reign people prefer to keep quiet. Even in the current eagles there have been issues but if tomorrow someone come out to elaborate on it we will say it’s all lies again? |

jedisco: It's a dicey one but the fact is once a narrative catches on, reasons would be found. Somethings are inevitable- the government would know that. Some folks would bring in fake dependents. It's for the government to decide if the numbers predicted are worth curtailing a visa pathway or not. The cost of higher UK education means that those who can afford it from developing countries would largely either come from wealthy families or middle-aged folks who are well established and with families. The government can look at encouraging universities to reduce the cost to make it more affordable.
Ending the care visa pathway was largely a function of numbers. The numbers needed had come in- the visa pathway would be closed. Similar is happening in healthcare where there are no 'COS bandits'. Fact is wide reports of fraud had gone on for a while with no govt concern. It wasn't until numbers began to swell that they stepped in. Yes, there might have been some naivety on the govts side in how the whole system was set up, but the pathway was purposeful and would be brought back if significant shortages arise You’re talking based on principles and data but we know the current policy makers are not thinking from that perspective in fact on national television one of them admitted they are not following what the data actually tells. All they need is for one migrant to fall short of the law and begin to leverage on that for future hostilities. Just look at that bbc reportage on those claiming to be gay to seek asylum that’s all they need to convince their base like the same way the tamiyu saga by the same bbc was used to finally justify curtailing student visas! These guys don’t care about any shortage any longer it’s about what they can spin to either get into power or remain in power! They know the universities are bleeding in fact some universities up north are beginning to open London campuses to get by still the news out there is that they are selling fake degrees 😂 perhaps now that the uk is back into the EU Erasmus program may be that can help. It’s funny sha denying British youngsters for years from such program when folks like braverman enjoyed such in their time but today are shouting not to get back to the EU, the thunder wey go fire some of these Uk politicians Dey do press up honestly! |
