Shame on them
But I'm more concerned with what CAF will do
They'll reluctantly sanction Libya I know, but mostly to safe face, because of how the matter has escalated internationally

Imagine motsepe begging for us to still play the matchhuh
CAF can dash them six points for all I care, that was terrorism out there. Can motsepe ask his kaizer chiefs or SA national team to go out and still play after being held hostage for such a long time? The man no well, anyway what do you expect from a southie sef, chicken of a president

What is worse than Libya's horror show is some Nigerians taking their side in the matter saying they are justified because Nigeria treated them badly first.

I have done my checks and even the issue of Libya's arrival in PH and hide and seek games was discussed in the media by Ademola Olajire, NFF Head of Communications. Toyin Ibitoye (former Super Eagles Media Officer) anchored that News Central show.

The Libyans were being difficult and pushed a false narrative manipulatively with pictures which are actually a result of their own decisions, refusal to communicate and refusal to accept help from the NFF with respect to reaching Uyo.
We have never had that reputation of being bad hosts, it's teams who know they can't compete with us on the field that come up with these schemes and it's high time nff begins to make public all arrangements they normally make for host teams to avoid these chickens and cowards of nations who can't compete when they come to Nigeria to play. The see finish is becoming too much

Guy, with the virality of this issue and the way the news outlets and prominent and influential peeps around the world are posting about it, the presidency is already involved.

Right now, calls are being made. Phones are being banged. People who are directly and indirectly involved are on their toes and all buttons are being pressed trying to find a resolution to this issue.

NFf
Sports Ministry
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Foreign embassies

This issue has international dimensions with our foreign-based players who are employees of foreign clubs with some being dual citizens.

A lot is going on behind the scenes., trust me.

We are "outsiders" and its unfair to assume that the presidency is not involved at this point.
The Libyans overdid this one and they will pay for it seriously. They forgot that dual citizenship part of which Captain Ekong is one. They underrated the influence of our players in the international sphere of things. For as long as Nigeria refuses to play tomorrow they are done for. Whether they have 3 points or not. Even their press release reeks of fear on their part.

Meanwhile reports from some higher ups are saying they are doing what they can to sanction some movements into the location of the players but their efforts are being botched by the Libyan authorities.

Humility33, perhaps you should free Gusau and Enoh on this one. They are doing all they can and some action steps are already being taken.

The NFF is incompetent in other areas, yes but not in this matter. I understand he (NFF president) is on ground with them and the head of the Nigerian community in Benghazi had to come all the way to where they are at the airport to help them with WiFi and other stuffs. Omo... it is crazy out there.
Nigeria needs to stand its ground now not to play tomorrow, even if Libya gets all the points, it's already a bad image for them and diplomatically our govt need to recall our ambassador in Libya if there is one. This is purely a hostage situation and not a football matter anymore
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 1:03pm On Oct 14, 2024
This is why the game in Africa will never develop, it's been a trend for smaller teams in Africa to use these antics against stronger sides by playing victims all the time even when there is no need. I remember the Kenya national team many years ago when they came to Nigeria for a wcq they intentionally went to a primary school bare ground field to train and create the impression we were a bad host. When we play stronger sides you normally won't see all these antics because they know they can match us home and away.

It's high time countries in Africa decide if they want to play football, the game is not for chickens and cowards, if you know you can't compete kindly withdraw from the competition, this will continue sadly until CAF begins to spelt our penalties if they can for teams who come up with antics with their host even when the evidence shows otherwise.

That's borderline terrorism.
Terrorism is actually what it is. But for political interference in football, our govt suppose go in to evacuate them immediately when they were held hostage make I laugh small cos that's another story for another day but Nigeria govt suppose summon their ambassador for Abuja right away

Remember my post when the AfconQs conclude next month. LIBYA WILL HAVE THE 3 PTS (IF CAF FOOLISHLY DASHES THEM) AND THEY STILL WON'T QUALIFY.

Why the stress? A NT that cannot boast of up to 18 players on transfermrkt.com 😂😂😂

As for CAF HQ being in North Africa as reason for why they would support this nonsense, then it would only confirm that the South African Billionaire who is CAF President, Patrick Motsepe is just another lap dog for the North Africans. This is a good time to confirm that.
until we move that damn CAF headquarters from North Africa nothing will change. even Hayatou despite how powerful he was what could he do, For me I prefer we lose on the field than dashing those werey 3 points. They know they can't beat the Eagles even in their backyard.

Exactly. If we boycott the match, we have played into their hands. The North Africans seem to understand CAF rules better than the rest of Africa. They were the ones who started receiving match points against other African teams for fielding suspended players in matches when the team failed to note players on yellow card suspension. We, too, have been victims of Tunisia, or so.

The Libyans are nothing but cowards they could be looking for 3-0 gift from caf should the eagles boycott the game. Even with all these antics they know they can’t win.

That loss in uyo gave them serious mental health issues especially with the way the players were harassing the ref after the game for time issues they themselves took advantage of during the game. Am surprised CAF never even attempted to warn or sanction the Libyan fa for such nonsense.

It’s high time the North Africans in general make up their mind finally if they want to remain in CAF they keep playing this bullying games with the rest of Africa they whine unnecessarily when things don’t go their way look at Morocco complaining about racism even in Afcon cos things didn’t go their way, I even remember how Morocco dumped hosting of Afcon years ago for silly excuses. Haba this is becoming too much let them go and join their fellow Arabs in Asia if they consider themselves too superior to others in Africa. It’s becoming too irritating jor.

Just watch it now guys how they will want caf to award them full points for not kicking any ball. Nonsense

The "plans not communicated" excuse has been used twice now. It happened with South Africa too earlier this year. While it may be true that the persons in charge of the logistics of the away team may be at fault, the NFF should have learnt from the prior experience with South Africa by insisting on itinerary of the visiting communicated via mail so it is properly documented. Now what we have is a case of he said she said since the Libyans are not taking responsibility but her instead insisting that we intentionally diverted them to Port Harcourt.

The incompetence at the glass house is mind m blowing.
By now every visiting team knows we play in Uyo haba. Benin too was in uyo na

The above was my post on 6th of October.

The same thing repeated itself.Boniface had a chance in our last game to pass to a free Lookman who would have put us 1-0 up before the halftime break but he did not.He preferred to shoot.

Eguavoen needs to sit Boniface down and school him on the importance of team work in football. The game is not about scoring but getting the needed 3 points.

Osimhen only scored once but he got us to the AFCON finals while grabbing assists and making goal contributions such as winning penalties and forcing an owngoal.

Boniface and Lookman has played in our last two games with no Chemistry between them.Pls they shouldn't start games together since don't seem to understand each other.

Competition is of paramount importance for every successful manager but this two especially Boniface dey play like say the both of them use Super Eagles dey drag APOTY.

We should at least be 1-0 up before you start playing your selfish game.

Boniface should borrow a leaf from Osimhen who despite the criticism from fans and football lovers at home and abroad was still selfless despite scoring only once in the AFCON.

I don't expect Bony to start our next game anyway.

Secondly, for a team like Libya with low block or that loves parking the bus, please start all your scorers in every department of the team.
Especially those who have scored or assisted of recent.

Raphael Onyedika after opening the scoring against Gernot Rohr's Benin deserves to start the game along side Dele Bashiru who got us the equaliser against South Africa and the winner against Libya in our last game.

If your Strikers are finding it difficult to score you must start all your scoring midfielder.

Simon and Chukwueze did well in our last game.A 4-2-4 won't be bad for the next game same with a 4-3-3.

Bony should be dropped.Ejuke should play a part in the away game if not start for his dribbles will help unlock the Libyan's sturborn defence. Our last game favoured the dribblers in our team and Ejuke won't be an exception.

The team that finished the game should start our next game.

A 4-4-1-1 formation will be nice.Raph and Iwobi as midfield pivot with Bashiru ahead of them while Lookman leads the attack flanked by Simon and Chukwueze. It could easily become a 4-2-4 with Lookman and Bashiru operating as false 9's.

Start all your scorers in our next game and secure the AFCON ticket with two games left to be played.

Big congrats to Coach Dan Ogunmodede(Ija ball master). He was the mind behind our tactical substitutes for the game. You can see him with his books and laptop as he prepared the trio of Raph,Bashiru and Awo to come on in our last game.

This is no surprise to me because his Remo Stars team has always been known for scoring goals.

Henceforth, I recommend that the assistants to any Super Eagles Coach should always be the winner of the previous season NPFL and his runner up.I thank Eguavoen for this initiative of employing the best of the previous season NPFL as his assistant.

Kudos to Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu for his contribution to the team.We are yet to concede since he was appointed as assistant Coach. If you have watched his Enugu Rangers side, you will realise they really defend well(more emphasis on defensive solidity while being compact at the back).
For Eguavoen to say he will talk with the player something Dey be that that needs to be quickly resolved. I just feel the player is yet to be fully integrated into the team

Hi All. Trust we are having a good weekend. a family friend whose visa/brp (husband and wife) is to expire by Oct 2024 just noticed that the brp of their baby girl expired in may 2024.

The recent discovery happened as there were about to apply for PSW for the family.

The family(church members) are presently worried about the child as they do not know the fate of their baby girl.

Will the application for PSW altogether with the child correct the issue?

Pls has anyone been in that position and what advise/step can they take to correct the issue.

Thanks All
Was the baby born here in the uk? Perhaps it was an error cos if the application was done altogether the entire family visas ought to be expiring same time. If it’s an error I think it may not be an issue. I know errors due occur for Brps perhaps if you can check the immigration status for the baby online to get the accurate expiry date. My thoughts with the info you provided. My apologies if I confused you pls

True...especially the early ones. Some are already at 3 yrs+, some have switched to other roles. Even those still in care are now getting more shifts thanks to recent government changes.

I used to be strongly against those paying for Care visas until someone told me a number who came in via the student route were also paying to switch into care after studies and regretting all the sums paid. Since then, I toned down. Even when the warnings here were red hot, my advice was to weigh both carefully as the shafting that'd happen to a number of masters students wouldn't be funny.

P.s. I wouldn't wholly blame those who flocked in for the government change in rules. As with virtually every other imigration pathway (both historic and current), the route was only going to remain open so long as there was a need. Once filled, the pathway would be restricted or shut. It was largely inevitable.
It’s always sad when one is at the end of the stick when these pathways are closed or stricter rules enforced especially for students who have invested so much. It’s so heartbreaking. However the lesson I have learnt especially from the uk immigration system is that it’s just a low entry barrier and it’s up to individuals to make the most of it for their future advancement by managing their expectations around the opportunities available and not to be too emotional to maintain their sanity. Whether it’s education or work experience use it as a launching pad for self development and be grateful as that experience can be more fulfilling and rewarding elsewhere.

Sad to read. It appears many who are unable to secure a job that meets the relatively steep thresholds would have to take another masters (without dependents) or PhD, move into Care (without dependents) or seek clinical roles in the NHS (if qualified). I'd be keen to know what other pathways exist.

The more issues like this come up, the more it becomes clear that the 'winners' of the last immigration 'boom' may be those who came via the care route- most were able to bring in family, didn't have the burden of uni fees on them and are already counting 1-3yrs out of 5 for their ILR while students are stuck in limbo.

Says so much about the effectiveness of the largest immigration system.
They were indeed the biggest lottery winners 😜

Jokes apart they actually came to fill a void and justifiably they merit whatever they have gotten. It’s what it is. Just like those who can file green card applications from outside the United states and get approved while those who have paid through their nose for study in the US can hardly get an h1b which is also a lottery system that some folks outside the US too gets selected and migrate. Just timing and opportunity happening to everyone and everywhere.
