Obi is too weak. You don't need to explain your actions to your supporters.
It’s a red flag not to be a strong leader with strong convictions

True leadership is doing what is right even when it’s unpopular. If you have to seek approval all the time for doing simple right things then it’s better you avoid leadership.

According to NFF, they were told Uyo. Which aligns with Libyas intent to arrive at Uyo.

This is how things should flow normally

Libya FA tells NFF of Uyo arrival

NFF tells Customs, Immigration, DSS to make arrangements

Customs, Immigration, DSS tell NCAA to approve permit

somewhere in the bolded something went wrong
I see what you’re trying to do to absolve the Libyans of their travel plan into Nigeria.

The fact that previous visiting teams including from Libya had landed in Uyo safely before presupposes that the nff can never intentionally maltreat the team and it’s unfair for anyone to continue to accuse the nff of whatever befell the Libyans in Nigeria. Whatever went wrong, let the pilot who flew the Libyans into Nigeria also narrate his story. If not the Libyans have no case.

Leave that Uyo is not an international airport crap, ok.
Ghanaians have landed there, Benin Republic players have landed there, South Africans have landed there, international football clubs have landed there, even this Libya has been there before, the airport even has straight landing routes and right to Accra and Banjul.

Even if it were not international, can Nigeria not give Libya landing clearance to Uyo just to make it closer and easier for them? And Nigeria did!
Also going by your 'not international Airport' analogy, the dead airport that the Libyans re-routed Nigeria to is it international?
Just leave them with their dirty work on trying to blame the nff for the mishap in Libya. It’s indeed a shame

JohnBullMySon:
This issue can be narrowed down to three root causes

1. The Libyan team did not know that flying to Uyo would require special clearances and thus did not make any enquiries for that

2. NFF failed to ensure that the Libyan team would get clearance to land in Uyo

3. Both happened together.
Well done 👏 spokesmen for the Libyan defence team. Kudos

CAF Date and venue of the match has been public info for months now. What schedule does NFF need to be informed about?

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Goke7: 11:05am On Oct 17, 2024
JohnBullMySon:
NCAA gives two types of permit to non-scheduled flights arriving to or transiting through Nigeria. First is the overflight permit, second is the landing permit. Now for a non-scheduled flight to land in Nigeria, there are five options, Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, PH and Kano. These are the five designated points of entry aka Int'l airports approved with full services in Nigeria.

Now if for some reason you have to land at some other place besides these points of entry, you will have to get a special permit from NCAA. Before NCAA can give you that permit, you will have to write to federal agencies specifically, Immigration Service, Customs and DSS. These agencies will give you approval and confirm to NCAA that they will provide the required clearances and checks needed once you arrive. If that approval is not gotten, NCAA will not approve the request. (side note: Keyamo once noted that some people in government have been abusing this process cos this is Naija na).

Now back to the NFF story. If the charter airline that flew the libyan team could not secure a landing permit for Uyo from NCAA, it means that whoever was responsible to make those arrangements ahead of time. Simply failed to do it

Is that not why the Libya FA should have informed the nff of their schedule way ahead of time to get the landing permit for uyo ? You have finally indicted the Libyan delegation

TheGoodJoe:

I don't care about emotions. I want things done right. I have never been a pleaser of persons but a pleaser for truth and right actions.

As far as I am concerned, the NFF let us down. Those guys were stranded. They likely had issues even flying out. We should have just helped them.

The NFF must review this and update their action plan when it comes to hosting teams for matches.

If they are stranded, helped them out. This should be included in the budget. There should be contingency money. If the team is stranded in Nigeria for a game, help them out.
There’s no Us here, Nff didn’t let anyone down and there can be no budget for con-men. Contingencies are for our National team. What we owe visiting teams are acommodation and logistics when they arrive where they are supposed to, if they go and land in sambisa they should cry out to their own govt to bail them out like we did in Libya with our own government.

You’re indeed emotional, period. If you have friends that are Libyans tell them to change from their evil days as we are no longer in the Stone Age.
