cococandy: Trumps govt started a denaturalization department to strip citizenship from legal migrants. Any slight error they dig and find in anything relating to your migration. No matter how minute or inconsequential, they’ll take away your citizenship.
You know who it’s not going to affect? White migrants from Ireland, Scotland, England and all them lands. Do you know who will be the most affected? Colored migrants from African and Hispanic countries. So far trumps one term administration has done 40% of the denaturalization of legal immigrants in recent decades.
When migrants from Africa reach America and think they’ll dance to the tune of white supremacists hoping that they’d somehow be exempt from the cruelty, I just look at them and SMH.
Something about the leopards eating the faces something something. What our people don’t understand is that to the average white for as long you don’t look like them they can’t differentiate between legal and illegal migrants cos e no Dey show for face. Whether you were born there, came as a worker or student or asylum seeker, everyone that’s not from their race is in same category. The recent riots in the uk is a proof where law and abiding citizens and migrants of colour were attacked cos according to them they all came via the English Channel and are lodged in hotels and being fed by govt daily. |

Cyberknight: Future generations (if indeed there will be any future generations with time to read and learn while not out desperately foraging for food in the shambles of the earth following the mess we're making of this world) will look back on the 2024 elections and wonder how their ancestors could have been so stupid.
Politics is inherently rubbish - candidates obviously cannot say everything they plan to do in office and must dodge some questions, or outright lie - see a certain governing party somewhere in Europe and their ridiculous contortions over who is a "working" person, for example. This is simply because getting elected is the priority. Maybe that's why many find Mr. Trump refreshing as you clearly get the feeling that with him what you see is most definitely what you are going to get.
I think that the Republican agenda for the US is wrong, leaving aside their candidate. Their economic philosophy of virtually unfettered free market capitalism, low taxes and low regulation doesn't work. Imagine companies being free to pollute, pay whatever they feel like in the absence of a minimum wage, collude, monopolise, virtually act as they like in pursuit of profit, etc. Basically, social democracy in some form is the least imperfect system of government mankind can devise, and it costs money to run a mixed market economy, which has to come from somewhere. The GOP's latest dalliance with financing the government through higher tariffs to balance out tax cuts is nonsense as you can never raise enough money from tariffs on items you need to import and ultimately it is the public who pay the cost anyway.
On the social front, the GOP apparently offers a return to "values", whatever that means, basically boiling down to the anti-woke war. I agree that life was generally simpler and better for many 30, 40, years ago. But this is life - it changes and it evolves. It used to be said that everyone the young are rebels and lefties until they get jobs, mortgages and families and then they morph into conservatives. However, the GOP and the Tories here by their policies favouring rampant capitalism and disfavouring social democracy have made it largely difficult to impossible for already socially disanchored young people to follow this path such that they feel they have less stake in society.
The Democrats and the left also dont have it 100%. That's a given. Some parts of their social agenda appall the religious, and there is rightly debate over the extent tax and spend should go, and so forth. We've got red Tories in power here, but we're all waiting to see what Reeves pulls out of her hat on Wednesday, and how many manifesto promises will necessarily have to be reversed, just like George Bush had to do in 1989, for instance. But in this US election, the Democrats are not attacking the very fabric of US constitutionalism, however imperfect it may be, or going about threatening fire and brimstone or generally creating more fear and tension as opposed to rational debate, whatever people may think about their candidate's handling of questions. If for no other reason, one hopes that the US will eventually vote for the party more disposed to calm things down and end the drama, the shouting, the fear, the tension and the rapidly increasing noise, for the sake of the US, and, given its role in the world, ultimately for us all. especially in a post-COVID world, Kolewerk. We are earnestly waiting for the so-called economic magic. Just like those here now wailing over increased taxes for investors and landlords, where do they expect increased government funding to come from? From heaven? Interesting times ahead, indeed. In this current world, everyone must bring something to the table those days of monkey dey work baboon dey chop are gone. |

Eriokanmi: So, Biden is lying? . I hope those Nigerians shouting Trump here would have a 2nd thought that the majority of those sending them 50 dollars who are illegal immigrants would be deported and nothing would enter their pockets again once this happens, which I don't even see happening anyway cos lots of odds are against trump right now
Sadly, some of the Nigerians living in the usa who have suddenly become advocates of legal immigration once entered America illegally before adjusting their status, which became successful. Hypocrites everywhere. Musk entered America with the intention of schooling but violated the visa rules by working illegally and became absent from the school? Why not apply for a work visa from his home country instead? A lot of people do this but it's illegal. You can't be an advocate of legality when you know you did the opposite at a time. Trump's camps are full of people of controversial characters, including those supporting or defending him The thing tire me o! Something that doesn’t concern them in the first place. It’s simply brainwashing actually |

In the context of humanity there’s nothing like illegal immigrant let’s stop allowing these western politicians to keep fooling all of us.
In the colonial era, how legal were they when they invaded Africa, who gave them visas and when some people stood on their way did they not use guns to force their way through? Back then they too were looking for a better life in chasing natural resources and food on the continent. It’s just human nature.
Humans are migratory in nature and it’s wrong to call anyone an illegal, yes go after criminals but stop chasing humans who are only seeking for basic livelihood. Put your restrictions in place and stop politicising one of the very basic characteristics of humans. It’s unfortunate now in the west politicians use the subject of immigration to drive votes. It’s simply racism and fascism. I pity those who can’t see beyond these nonsense. |

TheSuperNerd: Goke7, sebi you doubted saying CAF HQs dey North Africa. I hope you can see with this how the power of Social media and international exposure ensured we said "fu** you" to the so called North African privilege in CAF.
Never mess with the The Super Eagles of Nigeria outside the pitch. You will get burned bad. Mess with us only on the pitch, IF YOU CAN make I no lie. I had to check major media sources like goal.com to believe what I was seeing. There is hope for African football. This also confirms that we are among the best, if not the best when it comes to fair play in Africa. We've been too much on the receiving end of CAF controversial favors. Congratulations to all of us especially on this thread who insisted we were never on the wrong side of things. As for those who felt Libya had a point, next time check properly for antecedents before you make baseless claims. |
