Imagine having this setup for NPFL😆😁😁😁

These guy is such an analyst. Jamie Carragher can never!!!

He's broken down two major things i overlooked so far in this tournament. No Nigerian analyst fit do this one. Maybe Bolarinwa or Kiiibati sha. But i no dey see dem lately. SuperNerd go soon take over🤣

The ish is which team wants to exploit that Iwobi aspect now? That means we need to give the Angolan coach his flowers. If he had better technical players, they'll have done it more than twice.
the iwobi aspect is easy to see, he lost the ball that caused the goal against E-Guinea, and he also lost concentration causing the chance the Angolan had which hit the bar. Perhaps the reason the coach is playing him deep so the defenders can easily cover for him. No team is 100% perfect.

The South Africans too are not that technical which is where we will hit them with our more technical players. It's Nigeria's game to lose honestly

na nostalgia.
we all have nostalgia but let it be with some small wisdom, I listened to Taribo the other day, and he admitted that the current Super Eagles defenders are more physically fit compared to the France 98 team, but if we start that argument here now, may folks will just write off the current defenders compared to the defenders we had then. phew

the better finisher argument is funny cos osimhen has more SE goals with 15 games lesser. Osimhen also has double of martin's serie a goals with just 8 more games. This debate is just filled with nostalgia, there is no basis to it.
it's arguments like this that retrogress Nigerian football, we always feel the past is better, too many emotions in our analysis. That's why a coach will do well, and win trophies but we will still feel another coach who has not won anything is better. A player whose goals have won trophies we still feel a player whose goals could not win laurels is better, It's just funny with the excuses we make for such silly arguments

He wasn't an automatic starter at Inter Milan. It's even a miracle how he gets on to the pitch at all with legendary strikers like Adriano, Vieri etall. A testament to how highly rated he was.
The move to Newcastle was a bad one. Valencia was supposed to be the better option where he could have played with David Villa.
If he was better than those strikers, he would be a starter and perhaps score more goals but he wasn't better. Oshimen was not only a starter but the best in Serie A. It's that simple

Been a serie A champion and top chart scorer; breaking so many records has overshadowed whatever martins achieved in his career….in a nutshell osimhen better pass martins

I don't agree, bruh! Obagoal was underwhelming for Nigeria! No AFCON or World Cup highlights! At club level, Osimhen finishing is on another level! Past things always seem better than it actually was!
You Dey mind them, I just hear names anyhow simple question is what trophy did they win for Nigeria. Na so person Dey argue say Yakubu Dey more clinical the same Yakubu wey miss open net like like Moses parted the Red Sea. Yeye comparison. I love Martins but please you got to mention strikers like emenike before him, those are winners.

Excellent! I am yet to see any Nigerian TV analyst with this in-depth knowledge of the way this Nigeria team is set-up. Peseiro has really done well for this team
I watched this analysis, far better than those citi sports guys, in fact towards the end was the most excellent analysis I have ever seen using stats to explain how Ola Aina completely marked out the Angolan striker, Gelson or what's name, dude had no shot at goal at all. They were all wondering where all the Angolan strikers went to, that past was so funny and exciting.

It would be a mistake for SE to get sucked into desperation to see the game not drag to penalties cos of the exploits in the SA keeper.

The best thing is to try and see that we wrap things up in 90 minutes but if it stretches beyond that, fine. No need to be desperate because we are afraid of their Gk.

Their Gk too has his weaknesses. Study it and exploit it if it comes down to penalties. In that way we too are prepared.

When the bird learns to fly without perching, the hunter learns to shoot without aiming.

Cunny man die, Cunny man bury am.
Thank you o, I thought am the only one thinking this way. Penalty shoot-outs are part of the game if you can't score in regulation time. The best approach is to prepare for all situations and scenarios. All this talk of taking chances is all assumptions, what if the keeper keeps saving all your efforts in regulation time, won't you fight till the very end? Looking at Cape Verde, it's obvious they didn't prepare enough for penalties while SA prepared totally. From the knock-out stage, teams are expected to prepare totally for all scenarios, we have even seen teams missing penalties given in regulation time which still reflects preparedness. Imagine Ekong missed the penalty against CIV, no be abuse we go abuse am? We got to be ready for all scenarios jare

we have passed the era of "take am like that"

This is a championship team. This team will rule.

Osimhen is APOTY. The 8th D'or, just behind Halland and Mbappe in the strikers league. No other living striker come anywhere close. Me don't really bother about the anti-osimhen crew, we actually need them.

As a striker, you need the negative reviews, the critics, the doubters, etc. They help fuel you.

If osimhen bags two tomorrow, hopefully they'd rest small.
we pray so o but this generation that can report Grammy account and shut it down, hmmm may God help us o

This is funny.

1- Jpes leaves or stay, we are force to reckon with post Afcon. Infact I predict a back-to-back afcon title with this current setup if we win.

2- Toxic? Nothing new. Nigeria as a whole is toxic. I cant remember when things were not toxic. Nff toxic, fans toxic, Apc toxic, naira/dollar toxic. Forget that one.

3- and why would we not qualify? Just cause you say it? Or you privy to something we don't know.
which set-up, the one the anti-oshimen peeps don't like?

see we don't manage success well, and that toxicity is too much for any sustainable progress, let's win this afcon and add to our other laurels, anything we see after, make we take am like that.

1. I disagree that the point is laughable. Celebrating just getting to the SFs should not be enough. Remember, only 2 of 16 SF appearances were when the tourney was expanded to 24 teams. Prior to that, it is was when the tournament was 8/16 teams.

2. Nigeria should be going into every AFCON with the expectation to win. That’s what big nations with expectations do! Brazil will never go into a WC just targeting to reach the SFs.

3. We are big footballing nation but we have to now have a winners mindset. No other nation has been the SFs more than we have, shows we are good enough to reach the final four, but it seems to be a disconnect in converting that into titles
If you’re better than the other teams you’ll win but if the other teams have more exceptional players than you that come to the party than your own players how will you win? In 2019 we fell to exceptional play of Algeria’s mahrez, In 2000 in the afcon we came from behind twice in the final to level with a Cameroonian team that parades eto, mboma, Vivian foe, rigobert song you wan try? In 1992 we fell to exceptional brilliance to Ghana Abedi Pele and co. No emotions if you’re good you’re good.

That no Nigerian striker has surpassed Late Yekini’ goals record shows the quality of strikers Nigeria has been producing over the years. The Brazil you’re talking about when last did they win the World Cup? even surpass quarterfinal when? Your expectations will be limited by the quality of players you parade as against other competitors.

We have a big chance now because nations with exceptional players that can really give us headaches have already exited the competition. It’s what it is, motivation talk don’t win competitions you got to be better indeed than your rivals

They didn't say that Angola will beat us. They wished it and desired it and that's fair enough cos if Ghana is in our shoes, I'd wish they get beaten. That however doesn't detract from their brilliant post match analysis in which they give full credit where it is due. No one in our media matches them.
They felt the Angolans were more technical than the Eagles, you can see they admitted how we neutralised their dangermen

I am not saying he isn't an asset

But if you watch SE AFCON games without sentiments and judge all our attacking situations, Osimhen has been the weak link in most of them

It's either he is offside or he balloons the ball wide

But it is a defender (Zaidu Sanusi) that is their problem. Moses Simon who has been playing well has not gotten any recognition because he is not Osimhen

Same thing I said. 16 SFs for 7 finals and only 3 titles is massive underperformance.

There should be 1 title for every three SFs imo
This is laughable and not a mature point. Nigeria is not the only footballing nation in Africa. If you're indeed the best team in a tournament with the best of quality players your chances are higher with exceptions of biased refereeing and other factors. A semi-final finish especially now in a 24 nation-tournament will always be a big deal. You guys should relax, the NFF that gave Paseiro a semi-final target knows this.

Yes, we are a big soccer-playing nation in Africa but we've never been the best and that's a fact. How many times have we won the CAF Champions League, what's the state of your local league for you to have won Afcon 10 times?
