Mujtahida: If you read my position as being fatalistic, then you have not understood me or you have a superficial understanding of my position. I'm a realist. You remove A, put B, remove B, put C, remove C, put D, over a period of 30 years, you are still bedevilled by the same problem and yet everybody as is typical of the black race blames others, no one takes responsibility, no one owns up.
I say acknowledge that you, you are the problem. Acknowledge that the disease you glibly criticize when you are outside the system is inside you. I am doing diagnostic work. I'm pointing out the sickness. I never said that the patient should be left to die. I'm only saying that your hypocrisy and self righteousness makes you unaware that you carry the sickness inside you yet when you enter there, you produce the same unpalatable result. It is either you lack sufficient self awareness or you are a deceiver.
Before change or healing comes you must acknowledge the problem. We as Nigerians like to believe that the next man, the other tribe, the other religion, the other region are the problem. I say naa. I've seen enough. You and me, we are the problem. Before God changed Jacob's name to Israel, he asked him, what is your name. In other words God wanted Jacob to acknowledge that he was a liar and a deceiver. Because Jacob was tired of living as a deceiver, he replied "My name is Jacob." He owned up. Only after acknowledging that he was a corrupt man, did God change his name. In Isaiah 6, Isaiah said "woe is me. I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips." It was after he made that confession, that he was purified with tongs of fire.
Nigerians are rank hypocrites. We all are. You tell me you are different yet you produce the same result. I say I don't believe you or anybody or myself no more judging by the results after many years and after many changes in personnel. You say I'm fatalistic. How?
If you say you are different. I say no problem but that is chaff so long as it is mere talk. Other men, of greater stock have said the same thing only to get into the saddle and do the same thing. Therefore, I say I don't want you to tell me you are incorruptible. SHOW ME. DO IT. I'm tired of empty talk and moral preachments by pretenders and naive people. Delaw, na you get time, me I no Dey fall for all those kind gaslighting. So many on this forum are still very young so when you’re talking of a malady that has bedevil us as a nation for 30-40 years they can’t understand. Like that baby hippopotamus asked the mother why is her lip so big, the mother replied bam bam you too go grow! Phew! |

I agree that no one can or should be boastful in their integrity but you and Mujtahida should stop this fatalistic narrative. Your types are the reason this contraption and progress are like two parallel lines. Does this warrant insults? Are the nff foreigners or Nigerians like you. What will change even if these current players become nff administrators tomorrow? Who is this nff that we keep blaming all the time as if it’s the same people that have been there since 1960. 7demons: Blame your "Own Goal" captain for the mess if they fail to win any of their matches; You caused your team the extra job and still had the mind to tell them to boycott and demand for extra wage when the goal is to qualify for the Mundial. I still have some respect for the captain, but could it be the dude may be thinking because of his poor form, he may not even be invited to Afcon or the World Cup ( in case we qualify), man wants to ensure he gets all his retirement benefits before they enter voicemail. Am still so shocked this happened under his watch. But what do I know? Just waiting for the match results as I have lost interest finally. |

chrisooblog: Honestly I've been thinking how to express my thoughts towards the team since yesterday after the news of them boycotting training broke.
First the present NFF board has to go no matter the outcome of the qualifiers or AFCON. The FG in one way or the other has to get involved in how the new set of people will be elected into the glass house without incurring the wrath of FIFA. How that will be accomplished I don't know but where there's a will there's a way.
As for the players I don't know who advised them to take this line of action now. You can fight for the right cause but at the wrong time. They haven't qualified for the WC which would have given them better bargaining power but have allowed this distraction to very potentially torpedo their WC participation ambitions. If they don't make it they are the ultimate losers. Administrators come and go but ultimately players make their own legacy.
Atlanta 1996 was a sh**show in terms of preparation and renumeration but their determination to succeed cemented their place in the history of Nigerian sports and global forums.
The players could have made their point at the AFCON or even next year before the final stage of the WC qualifiers where to all intents and purposes they are 70% sure of going through.
If the players had this intent they should have just rejected the invitation for the upcoming games instead of wasting everybody's time.
A lot of us who invest our time and emotions in this team without getting a dime deserve better from the administrators and players. Truth be told I'm really contemplating whether I should bother watching tomorrow's game (If the players even show up).
I'm of the firm belief that this shall pass and Nigeria will achieve it's potential of becoming a truly great footballing nation. Thank you o it’s about time these players take their decision if they want to play at the big stage or not. Reuben Agboola an ex player in the 90s said in an interview that he stopped honouring invitations to the national team because of unpaid allowances though he said he’s full of regrets as he missed out of the 94 World Cup. But at least he picked a side and stuck to it. Every SE player should make up their mind. |

Mujtahida: I just weak. This thing is one of those things one wishes it never happened cos it's hard to pass judgment. NFF has been owing them from what I hear since 2019. If it's true then, haba haba Just like you said it’s a Nigerian problem and I think by now every Nigerian sport athlete need to make up their mind if they want to represent the country or not. There’s no point having so much passion or dying to want to be given the opportunity or platform to represent the country and later come up with drama like this. The funny thing is that some of these players today will still end up being part of the nff tomorrow and still nothing will change after all the likes of ikpeba and other ex players are in the nff so for me individuals should make up their mind what they really want. We are just used to blame games as Nigerians when we are just who we are 😂 |

Let's call a spade a spade and not to straddle the fence, Even when they are fighting for what they believed is their right, what they did is disappointing and shameful.
They already aware of the kind of FA we have, why not secure the ticket first, there are so many other games coming up which they can use to demand for whatever they want, this world cup is too important to choose to play games with. I’ve never been a defender of the players o except am being misled. This one in particular is a disgrace and for the first time I think Ekong is not a good captain. I had thought being a foreign born there would be some Behind approach to issues like this but alas e no different from the agbero generation of dem oliseh and taribo west. There are new players in this team who were not even in Afcon see the bad things they are teaching them now |

Mujtahida: The problem with Nigeria is that NFF no good but the shocking but hard to admit fact is that those complaining and condemning NFF too are no good. Put them there, they will do the same thing!
So whatever NFF does really doesn't bother me if not that this touches on the players welfare. Any body who has followed naija football, knows that perenially this issues of ineptitude and corruption, of unpaid bonuses and scandals dogs every administration of the NFF which proves my point. I was in Secondary school reading newspapers and the complaints were the same. Presidents come and go yet the same problem persist. Does this not tell us something about ourselves which we often don't like to admit - namely that it is we ourselves - you, me, everyone else, without exception - who are the problem of Nigeria?
Someone will soon come and counter me now by saying me oo, I'm not corrupt. You capture it all, that’s why most times am not bothered. I think the players are also trying not to be played by the nff just in case they don’t qualify as they know they won’t see any kobo any longer. It’s a Nigerian problem not just an nff issue as you rightly pointed out. I only just thought the players were more eager to get thru the playoffs |

QueenJazz: This whole fiasco about the video Iwobi posted is pissing me off.
In the first place, maybe it's just me, but the players should be neck deep in preparation for the two games we're having this week because they're do-or-die games. The video would have made more sense if the accomodation was terrible, but as we've learnt from multiple sources, it isn't. I'm not sure what Iwobi's intentions were by posting that video, but it's just causing a whole lot of mess online and people are still insisting sef that the video of Rive Hotel journalists filmed is fake.
I just hope these boys are taking this camp serious and are not feeling too comfortable. Una go think say Gabon no be problem until we're down by 1-0 or 2-0 and there's no way to comeback by the 88th minute (god forbid sha)
Abeg, abeg, we need to be focused on Gabon and leave all these useless distractions. 💯 I don’t just want to talk about this matter earlier until now I saw this your post cos e go be like say I get agenda . My own is no one will listen to any silly excuses if things don’t go our way at the end. |

Make Una humble for this play off o, after we beat everybody then we fit make mouth but for now caution is the approach.
Our boys won 4-0 against Benin because they wanted to prove a point to a lot of people including me who have almost given up on the World Cup dream. I think our boys know when we don’t really expect much from them and that ginger them the more to go all the way but when we praise them too much ahead of a crucial encounter then often we see complacency so my suggestion will be caution to everyone and let the eagles know we still want them to continue to shut the mouth of critics and pessimists! |

Otokitifunmi: Please help me o. Who has booked a flight to the UK through Lufthansa airline from Nigeria?
We currently booked a flight for Grandma to visit the UK from Nigeria through Lufthansa because it was the most affordable at the time and hubby didn't pay for changes to be able to update the ticket or anything else.
Now someone said we must also apply for a transit visa for her as she would not be allowed into Frankfurt in Germany for layover without it.
We have successfully filled the transit Visa application form through the German embassy online, but the problem is we can't book an appointment for her Biometrics on VFS global website.
How do I book appointment for Biometrics for the transit visa application? Her flight is in December.
Please If you have done this before, please enlighten me. Thank you. I think it’s always better to go thru routes where we hardly hear about complaints of transit visa. Folks who use KLM or even Air France hardly have issues. It’s better to always check out these airlines properly before booking tickets. Affordability shouldn’t always be the only consideration. |

justwise: Do you know the strange thing about many of you in support of American military intervention is that you can not provide a single evidence that it has ever worked anywhere in the world but you still support it.
Let me ask you this...give me one country that America has helped militarily to bring about peace and security, one.
If America truly care about the 'cherished Christians in Nigeria and want to put pressure on Nigeria govt to do more then there are many other tools they can use to intensify the pressure..sanction Nigerian politicians, seize their assets, travel ban including their families, work with Nigerian military by sharing intelligent about the location of these militants, cut off their weapon supply channel, supply Nigerian military with weapons, the same level of support Israel received to go after Hamas in Gaza and outside Gaza city. America did all that without carrying out air strike or putting foot on ground.
You know why they haven't do that or interested in doing that? This is not about cherished Christians getting killed, they want to get hold of Nigerian natural resources and control the govt as they have done in every single country they forced their way into.
If you think that the American govt give a sh.t about the killing in Nigeria then i want you to pass over to me whatever you have been smoking They will rather cancel visas of innocent people and lie and claim in the media that they have banned or revoked visas of people involved in drinking and driving, or those who got involved in anti govt protests and all sorts of crap. They never go after or sanction politically exposed persons linked to terrorism. Phew! |
