Politics / Re: 36 Presidential Candidates Beg Atiku Not To Challenge Buhari’s Victory In Court by Goldenfinger5(m): 4:04pm On Mar 05, 2019
Okwyla:
The Forum of Presidential Candidates and Political Parties for Good Governance, has appealed to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, not to challenge the outcome of the recent presidential election in court.

The forum made up of chairmen and candidates of 36 political parties, who contested the election with the winner, President Muhammadu Buhari, specifically urged Atiku to disregard the advice of those asking him to challenge the outcome of the poll in court.

In a statement read on behalf of his colleagues at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the chairman of the forum, Mr. Shittu Kabir, said the group had started a robust discussion with Buhari and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a view to being magnanimous in victory by setting up a government of national unity.

Kabir said, “We have advised the government to be magnanimous in victory. I believe that will be done. We have urged them that irrespective of political party or religion or tribe, the government should pick the best brains across the land and those who can contribute to the development of the country across the nation.”

He noted that Atiku, who has already set up a formidable team of legal experts for the judicial battle ahead, has the right to approach the court but added that he should forget the litigation option in the interest of peace.

He said, “We strongly urge Alhaji Abubakar to drop the legal option in expressing his grievances. This is consistent with the counsel of many well-meaning Nigerians including Chief Olisa Agbakoba.

“We also believe that the former vice president has made a mark among Nigerians of means who have positively impacted their communities. We think he has a lot more to contribute to developing humanity and promoting peace and progress in our nation, even without holding any political office.

“At his age, he should now avoid any action and utterances capable of fanning the embers of discord, disagreement and violent conduct. Nigeria is greater than any personal or class interest.

“Atiku has his right and nobody can infringe on his right. That is why we have not said he cannot go to court but we are saying he should not go to court.

“Instead of wasting that time and maybe draw our developmental stride backwards, let us give our nation time for development and let the government be focused on providing good governance.

“We need to get the country out of the wood and address national issues instead of diverting the attention of the government by going to
court.”

It also said part of their task would be to convince the President to sign the Electoral Bill into law with a view to preventing the irregularities, rigging and violence that usually characterised elections in the country.

He said, “If that bill as approved by the National Assembly had been assented by the president, all the litigations and crimes that we are having would been taken care of.”

Must they expose them? They will render an account before God just like those who commit immorality.

Why then pick on a vulnerable minority?

Its really baffling if some people are actually living or just existing. All the people supporting 4+4 get ready because the onslaught of the Bubu administration if he succeeds in rigging himself into power will hit everyone of you directly this time around but God will never allow him and his rigging plans.

Heard about it.

Whether you have a bad govt or not most of these churches would succeed in whatever they put focus on. When the likes of Oyedepo, Oyakhilome, Adeyemi tell you to vote sensibly they aren't doing it because they would go hungry if you vote in useless islamist leaders but they are mostly concerned about the effects on the gospel and the society.

It takes little for an Oyedepo to warm his way around a Buhari and he and his church will have no issues whatsoever. Buhari may detest the Christian gospel but his persecution will not start with the "big men" of christianedom but with that missionary on the streets of zamfara, that little gospel ministry trying to procure a parcel of land in Yobe, the christian sister forced to wear hijab or marry an emir.

The FRCN led attacks on churches quashed by Buhari proved that Nigerian islamist politicians are afraid of big pastors with a good international ministry profile. The oyedepos, oyakhilomes have friends in high places(foreign govts, judiciary, legislature and security systems) that will help them escape any persecution or whisk them out of this country at moments notice. But when you the poor masses are systematically rigged out of jobs because of religious and ethnic affiliations, when your farms are ravaged and your wives defiled, your children taken hostages who would be your voice?

The church does not have military to guard your lives or properties when an evil govt comes hard on your lives. It only has prayers and the capacity to vote. I hope y'all voted well in this elections.....

Christians are one of the most stupid set of people on earth. A Christian will take decisions that even pagans will not take. Christians forget about their faith when important things like voting and election is taking place. They forget that their decision will affect the gospel which will invariably fall on them in time to come. That why even Jesus Christ our Savior said "The children of this world are wiser than the children of Light". Christians always carry that "I don't care attitude" in everything they do and everywhere they go that's why the ones that are most hit are the same Christians. Christians will prefer to pray than to vote so that angels will come from heaven to do their job. Christians are the ones that is getting fired at work, they are the ones whose businesses are collapsing everyday, yet when you tell they to vote for the candidate that will help them overcome these challenges. The answer is a big NO. They'll prefer to go church and pray about it or do fasting and sow seed, giving their Pastors sleepless nights when they start attacking and deliberately targeting them. It is so so annoying

Politics / Re: Presidential Election: ANAP Opinion Poll Gives Buhari Edge by Goldenfinger5(m): 3:59pm On Feb 12, 2019
Clerverly:
IF the opinion poll on the February 16 presidential election sponsored by the ANAP Foundation is anything to go by, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will be re-elected.
President Muhammadu Buhari

However, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, may close the gap and win, if the mass of undecided voters in areas considered as his strongholds cast their votes.

Releasing the results of the opinion poll, yesterday, Founder and President of ANAP Foundation, Mr Atedo Peterside, said ‘’that PMB actually had an overall lead in our polls is cold comfort for his supporters because further analysis confirms that only approximately one-third of the electorate nationwide claimed to be certain to back his candidacy. Atiku was lagging behind PMB, but the fact that the undecided votes are concentrated outside the two zones where PMB is strongest (North-East & North-West) must give Atiku cause to believe that PMB’s lead might not be unassailable after all.’’

Presenting the outcome of the opinion poll in a statement titled: ‘’Things fall apart, but is the President aware?’’ Peterside said voter apathy is strongest in the South-East zone where only 61 per cent of the electorate say that they have given some consideration to the forthcoming elections, followed by South-South (73%) and South-West (79%). The rest are North-West, 87 %; North-East, 83 %; and North-Central, 80%.

He added the apathy in the South is ‘’unsurprising because a choice of two elderly Northern Muslim candidates in 2019 might have alienated quite a few in the South.’’
