Henry Onyekuru will be paid $100,000 a month (about 36 million Naira) after tax and get $10,000 for a win in the Turkish league, according to his new club Galatasaray.

Wow!!!
This translates to about £15k/week excluding bonuses. Still very far away from the premium and he is about one of the least paid at his parent club Everton.
Critically looking at this figure, the it is safe to say the move is very moderate in today's football economy.

Mbappe's father is a Cameroonian with a Nigerian mother. Mbappe is from a francophone country, that is not up for debate as children usually take the tribe/nationality of their father. We are just talking of his Nigerian side.

Martins had a similar situation. A cameroonian link in his lineage.

This is no indigenous yoruba tribe in Cameroon.
If indeed his grandmother is Nigerian, then safe to say he doesn't qualify for a Nigerian citizenship and he couldn't have played for Nigeria because of FIFA's grandfather's rule.

Only Benin... Not Togo or Cameroon. There is no indigenous Yoruba tribe in Cameroon.

He is most likely Nigerian. Nigeria makes up over 95% of the yorubas in Africa. Meaning that 95% of the time, if you hear a yoruba name, the person is from Nigeria.

You are looking at outliers if you think he is from , any other country.
This is not about outliners. We know the strong ties which exists between the francophone countries and France. Mbappe being a Paris boy have considerable chances of having his origin from any of the Francophone countries more than Nigeria because the Nigerian community in France is minority compared to that of our Francophone neighborhoors.
So if we want to speculate playing the numbers game, it doesn't tick in our favour.
Until we have proof his origin is from any of the South western states, I will struggle to identify him as one of us.
Remember, Cameroun almost called up Obafemi Martins. So maybe, just maybe we could have indigenous Yorubas in Cameron, abiet minority.

Dude must be regretting it now. Players with poor attitude are like cancers that needs to be butted out before they distroy the whole team. Salute to Dalic for his bravery.
Nonetheless, he should forgive the guy and call him back for the final.
I think he will receive a medal in private because he was registered for the competition, meaning FIFA already has 23 medals reserved for winning teams.
Dalic made a wonderful decision dropping him.

Sir we have the types of Dele Ali who don't want to associate with us,forget the alcohol addiction of his mum,Dele belong to the group of Sade Adu and SEAL.

SEAL a Grammy award winner had his part of his education in Lagos and even have friends that they went to the same secondary school though didn't finished before relocated back to UK.Did you know when his mother died SEAL failed to turn up for her burial in Nigeria.

SADE ADU was born in Ibadan not even in UK but always behaving as if she has nothing to do with Nigeria and despite that Nigerians always feel proud of her.

Philip Idowu a great athlete was born by a great sport philanthropist Chief Nathaniel Idowu but refused to associate with Nigeria despite his father great contribution to sport development especially football.

Christy Ohurougu another super athlete of Nigeria descents.Apart from the name Ohurougu i don't see her showing that love for Nigeria.

This is more reason am always showing that respect for Anthony Joshua,David Alaba and of recent Manual Akanji though not representing Nigeria but they are always happy to associate with naija.

I remember the group of guys with Ibo names born in the states that came down to Lagos to tutor young kids about America NFL.These are the type of guys I always have respect for.
We have alot of them in the NBA. Former play off mvp Iguodala will kill you if you called him Nigerian but he's from Edo state.
Antetokumbo is another one, he is one of the best players in the NBA, recently turned down a contract from LA Lakers to resign for his team but he claims Greek with his brothers.
Even Emeka Okafor, who I knew his sister on a personal level opted to play for USA when he was at Milwaukee Bobcats.

For me, anyone who doesn't feel Nigerian should be left alone.

Sir yes we have Yorubas who are settlers in Benin republic, Togo,Ghana and cote d voire. They are all Nigerians and 80% are from EJIGBO in Osun state where Emmanuel Adebayour's families came from.

Ligaliis are from Badagry in Lagos state and they shared boundary with Benin Republic.Remember Oliseh wanted to invite him based on that name cos he is a very close friend to some Ligalis and Dosus families where Joseph Dosu came from in Badagry.

There is nothing like Yoruba trace in Cameroon to prompt Mbappe senior to name his sons ADESANMI and ADEYEMI, so there is serious link with Nigeria and do not be surprised to find out Mbappe senior moved to France with Cameroonian passport despite being a Nigerian.

Sir i have a close friend who moved to France with Cameroonian passport and married a Tunisia still in Paris.

Sir i will not deceive you Mbappe senior will never come out to say he is from Nigeria cos of the implications and that name ADESANMI will remain a mystery cos is very unusual for a Cameroonian to have that name.

If Mbappe was named with Bakassi or cross rivers names nobody will doubt his origin cos of closed relationship they shared with Cameroon.
Oga, the truth is that our borders were man made, engineered by the British and French colonial masters, as a result, we have cousins across borders. My Togolese tailor bears the name Oluwafemi, clearly he is Yoruba but not Nigerian. We now have borders and clearly mapped out territories.
Mbappe's father could be a Nigerian who left with a Camerounian passport, maybe. He could also be Camerounian whose mother is Yoruba from any of the countries where you find Yorubas. Until, we have evidence his father is Nigerian, then we can indeed say he's Nigerian.
I'm sure he has nephews and cousins in Nigeria if indeed he's from here. It is left for the press to do their forensic search. The name alone is not enough.

Yoruba in Togo is very distinct. Hardly the same as the one spoken in Nigeria even though they have the same roots. Even the names are different. Adebayor for instance, is not native to Togo. His family emigrated from Nigeria.

Benin maybe but given the population size difference, there is a much higher chance that his root is Nigerian.
That's my point, until we know for certain his ancestry or his father's state of origin in Nigeria then we should not beat our chest and claim he is Nigerian.
The first thing I knew about Mbappe before he burst into limelight was that his grand father was an ex Cameroun international. Findings can trace his ancestry to any of Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroun.
One thing for sure is that his mother is Algerian.

Mbappe's Nigerian links is from his paternal grandmum. That is just a small part of his lineage.

Joshua is a 9ja boy through and through.

Mbappe's yoruba name is Adesanmi so he is from the south west.
Yes, Mbappe has a Yoruba name but until we can dig out his direct roots, state/clan we can't lay claim to him. Nigerian press haven't been able to do this, I say this because we have Yorubas in Benin Republic and Togo. There was a time we thought Jonathan Lingali was Nigerian but turned out to be Beninoise.

It was until after it was certain Croatia would win peeps here began to show face. Lmao. Chai!

If Kane had doubled the lead when he was faced to faced with the goalkeeper or if he had passed and Raheem had scored after he missed the second chance, I don't think Croatia will be able to win the match.

Even Lingard had the chance after Dele fred him but he blew it away.

At that point, I told people around me that these chances England wasted will come back to hunt them and it did.

Truth be told, Kane failed them yesterday. Three glaring chances were blew away by him.

Now, peeps here are saying England had a free rid. Free indeed!

Should we also say Croatia also had a free ride because they played against Argentina, Nigeria, Iceland, Denmark and Russia? grin

Can we say Belgium, Tunisia, Colombia, and Sweden are weaklings? Hahahahahaha!

Have we forgotten Colombia and Sweden topped their groups ahead of Poland, Germany, Mexico, Senegal, South Korea and Japan? shocked shocked shocked

There's nothing like luck here. They deserved to be where they are now. Fact.

Only France played bigger teams, Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium. GBAM

Besides, I was happy Croatia beat Russia else people here go tell us how Egypt had a tougher group than us. grin

I also thank God Croatia beat England because those boys we dey chase go see say we played against stronger teams wey dem no fit beat and dem no go fit dey raise shoulder for us. grin

I have an in depth knowledge of cardiology not radiography. But basics will explain to us that some drugs are administered based on body weight because age is not the same as body development hence two persons of the same age could need different dosages of the same drug. If that is the case then you can intelligently decipher that age is not the same as body development hence MRI which monitors body development as a sign of growth cannot be totally reliable
Personally, I have washed my hands off this MRI argument. Every man have a right to remain ignorant.

we are both still saying the same thing FIFA random tests could have been ''adjusted'' to ensure the random picked ones were the sure bankers who would pass the test. the 2009 test was still fraught with mystery, uncertainty and doubt. as for the 2013-2015 sets there were 3 levels of testing NFF, CAF then FIFA no test is ever full proof but the MRI scan judging from the results in the iheanacho and osimhen sets is definitely a major improvement.

look at this example you run a border post you randomly screen passengers for contraband you don't need to be a genius that many will scale through the system but get a body and luggage screening machine you will definitely see a drastic change
I don't think it will be easy to influence a random selection. FIFA and continental affiliates also use random selection to test players at various competitions for doping.
Recall Rio Ferdinand's case.

remember nigeria was hosting so it makes sense ''stuffs'' were done to help us. as long as the full screening was done by us and not FIFA anything goes. for all you know maybe the stories of players being screened out and dropped could have been a kite flown by the nff to give the impression we were serious about curbing age cheating. alot of funny things weren't on before we hosted that competition. host cities being dropped then reselected out of the blues.
Subsequent U17s after 2009 were also tested by the Nff, maybe FIFA tests the players before the tournament but you have to scale the Nff's private test before FIFA ran theirs. I say this with certainty however, I stand to be corrected.

For the uptheent time and as a matter of fact, FIFA used MRI in 2009. Burkina Faso was also affected as some of their players failed the test in 2009.
FIFA claims the MRI is full proof but that haven't proved to be accurate by my findings.

My point still stands though..

These were private unregulated tests. That is what i think is deceptive. The facility where it is conducted is irrelevant. Equating the private test done by ourselves for Ourselves to a monitored controlled test.

The risk is lower in random tests because only a few players will get tested. You can certainly put in a few overaged players

In Nigeria, people take job tests and we still select those with connections. So yes, i will take a regulated test more seriously.

We only had started having FIFA mandated tests in 2011. Since then, look at the composition of players from the African continent that make the tournaments. They obviously look younger.

It is no surprise that FIFA made it mandatory in 2011 after the Fortune Chukwudi scandal

I apologize if i offended you in anyway, it was not my intention.
The MRI scan in 2009 was mandatory because of FIFA's random check. Every member of the team was checked twice by the Nff to make sure they didn't fall victim of FIFA's random selection.
Guys like Edafe Egbedi, Stanley Okoro, Terry Envo and even Omeruo were chronologically older than 17.

You call it a private test, but that same private test disqualified so many other players and the same private test have been used by the Nff ever since till date.
Was it not a private test that disqualified the players Uzoho replaced in 2013?
Why would you believe the Nff gamed the system by adding players who failed Mri with the risk of getting disqualified if they were accidentally picked up by FIFA's routine assessment team in a tournament Nigeria was hosting? It sounds ridiculous.

See anything that goes through the Nigerian system alone can not be trusted.. That is fact. An unregulated test done in Nigeria is still subject to the things that happen in Nigeria.

The margin of error is not that big, It is usually +/- 2 years. That to me is an acceptable margin. A valid 16 year old can fail an MRI test if his bone has fused.

The likelihood of Fortune Chukwudi passing a regulated MRI test is low.
Are you saying Fortune Chukwudi passed two unregulated MRI scans in Abuja and Aspire academy in Doha? Why will the Nff risk getting found out by FIFA's random test if he was picked up for routine tests in the tournament?
Are you also saying that over 15 members of the team failed unregulated MRI test 6 months to the tournament?
Obuh Names Age Cheats

No fewer than 15 players of the national U-17 squad, the Golden Eaglets have been shown the exit door out of the team by the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF in the aftermath of the recent Magnetic Resonance Imaging, MRI test conducted on them.

This meant that the players may have been above the age bracket for the U-17 Championship and are consequently knocked out of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be staged by Nigeria from October 24 to November 15, 2009.

The players are part of coach John Obuh’s 36-man team who have been undergoing training ahead of the championship.

The sack of the 15 players also meant that coach Obuh now has 21 players available to him to prosecute the U-17 championship which Nigeria is the defending champions after lifting the trophy for the third time in 2007 in South Korea.

Complete Sports understands that Kabiru Borgo, Abiodun Akande, Ariyo Olubukola, Habib Bello and Deji Joel are among those asked to leave the camp.

Also decamped include Yakubu Azeez, Ogungbe Ganiyu, Oriji Alu, Justice Chinedu, Chinedu Udegha, Amadi Moses, Solomon Enudi, Dubem Awaziem, Esse Joseph Junior and Olaitan Gambari.

The remaining players include: Kazeem Yekinni, Paul Danjuma, Bala Mohammed Saidi, Femi Orunimi, Aliyu Mohammed and Emeka Opara.

Others are: Bala Saidi, Rahman Azeem, Fortune Chukwudi , Kenneth Omeruo, Eze Ikechukwu, Dafe Egbedi, Jude White, Terry Envoh and Ogungua Gibson.

Emmanuel Sani Shehu, Sadiq Saliu, Abduljehil Ajagun, Omoh Ajabu, Onazie Ogeyi and Anthony Iyalekhue complete the list.

It is deceptive because that was not a FIFA mandated test. It was done in house by Nigeria. It is definitely much easier for over-aged to be passed through in unregulated tests especially in a place like Nigeria.

In 2009, 1 or 2 players were tested after every match at random, this means that the bulk of the team never got tested by FIFA.

It was only in 2011, that it became a mandated regulated test conducted several times by CAF and FIFA.

It is highly unlikely that a 25 year old will pass a properly regulated MRI test.
The fact was that he came out in the clear after passing two tests in Abuja and Qatar.

Like I said earlier, the Nff tested every player in 2009 so as to ensure no one failed FIFA's random test. It was a sensible thing to do that was why they were they didn't believe Adokie's accusations till he produced picture evidence.
I have posted not less than 3 articles which clearly states that a person's chronological age is different from bone maturity.

I have to comment here because this is deceptive.

There was no mandated MRI test by CAF or FIFA in 2009. Any test (If any) that might have been conducted was done by Nigeria alone with no independent party and hence subject to the Nigerian factor.

Currently, test results are monitored by CAF and FIFA experts because they are mandatory. In 2009, we only had random tests by CAF and FIFA meaning not every player was tested.

That you have to refer back to 2009 is testament to the success of mandatory MRI tests. We have not had any significant verifiable age scandal since.
There's no deception here, I'm putting out what was reported and recall that 6 months to the 2009 U17 world cup, about 15 members of the supposed Nigerian team were laid off after failing they MRI test because FIFA introduced a routine check to try out players so to be on the safe side, it was better every player was tested because you don't know who will be picked at random just liked they do with dope test.
In subsequent tournaments, they stopped random check and made it mandatory to check every player.

The Acting General Secretary of NFF, Barrister Musa Amadu said:

“We are not claiming to be perfect, as that is a virtue that belongs to only the Almighty God. But Nigerians are aware of the efforts we made to ensure that we put forward a genuine team.”
The team underwent MRI scans at the National Hospital in Abuja and at the world famous Aspire Academy in Qatar, and is still being subjected to scans at the ongoing competition.
(FIFA'S random scans) But simply because he wants to destroy, Amiesimaka has gone out to ‘invent’.”We are not bothered.
Taiwo Ogunjobi:

Addressing the key question of Chukwudi’s age, Ogunjobi reiterated that the player passed the MRI test, and not just once.

Exactly, Fortune Chukwudi is the face of age cheat. He's the ultimate reference point. There is no age cheat except it is of Fortune Chukwudi magnitude.
By the way, do you know Fortune Chukwudi passed MRI scan in Nigeria and Qatar where the team camped? I bet you didn't know.

The question on the lips of many is how did Fortune Chukwudi Golden Eaglets captain pass the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test first conducted at the National Hospital in Abuja and the subsequent test performed in Qatar where the team prepared for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Since the news broke out that 15 Golden Eaglets players failed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test carried out in Abuja few weeks to the kick off of the 13th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the issue has been on the burner and the NFF have done everything to keep the issue quiet.

https://allafrica.com/stories/200911130920.html
Even then, former Nigerian international Adokiye Amiesimaka still claimed in a weekly newspaper column that Under-17 captain Fortune Chukwudi was overage, despite passing the test.

www.standardmedia.co.ke/mobile/amp/article/2000004473/grappling-with-the-football-age-factor
MRI is not conclusive. A 25yr old Fortune Chukwudi passed the test with flying colors twice (in Nigeria and Qatar).

Still trying to evade the truth. The failure is underage boys failing the test. This shows it is harder for Africans to pass. So the whole our MRI scan passed players are overaged is clearly defeated.

Finito.
I asked a question and you haven't answered. How do you imagine an overage player who passed the test will come out and say he is over aged but passed the test thereby reporting himself and risking arrest for forgery.

It's not like we don't have players whose ages are questioned despite passing the test.
You have to think deep to understand my post.

Keep in mind we are talking of the game I commented on Mbappe's performance. Definitely, not the game I missed.
The game we are talking about is the Man city Monaco game which ended 5:3, you can see from the screen shot a moniker posted the result immediately after your post.
How have you suddenly become an authority to analyze a game you didn't watch.
But I'm the one reading stats and not watching games. Lol

So will any scientific procedure....even DNA tests or HIV test. The question is not if there is a degree of error but how much uncertainty you are willing to accept.

A standard deviation of 0.9 for a mean of 18.3 yrs means that if the MRI says you are 18.3 years old, then there is about 70% chance that your age is between 17.4 yrs and 19.2, 15% chance that you are older than 19.2 and 15% chance that you are younger than 17.4. If only 15 out of every 100 people tested will be older than 19.2 in this case, I will say that the MRI is doing a darn good job. I don't think an 85% grade is poor for the purposes of stopping age cheats in cadet football!
My problem with this standard deviation of +/-0.9 is that black Africans weren't sampled in the said test.
I have a pdf report of a failure rate of about 46% on 86 Ghanaian boys sampled. This percentage is not negligible.

How does Transfer fees equate to performance in a game? Na wa. The incoherence... ...

Please get a simple point. Stats does not tell everything.

I repeat, Bernardo Silva and Lemar were more explosive than Mbappe in that game.
Coming from the same guy who claimed he didn't watch the game. Lol
You're such a piece of work. Hahah
