tatacherie:Awww. So angelic. My search for a wife for my twin boy ends here . Asa nwa. |
missmalachi:Chai! See hair. Cute baby you've got there. ![]() |
tchiwinnie:Cc:favoredgal there actually is. It's called Peak baby. Was introduced to the market last year. |
@lovinam, yes my eyes popped real good .@doubledouble, u sure say the 6 yards go do? Oya where's the bs na ![]() Coping hasn't been easy. Mum is late and MIL who has been so helpful had to leave me when her daughter in another state put to bed when my twins were 6 weeks old. Fortunately a cousin came to spend the holiday and she helps out but wld be leaving in 2 weeks. Work takes up so much of DH's time but he tries at night like when they're awake at the same time and need to be fed or changed. Just got a maid though. She'll focus more on d housework while I focus on the kids. Somehow God just helps me pull through. He'll never give more than we can bear. We'll smile at the end of the day. Hugs to your twins. |
soonest:Cc: pelupelu. My twins are just a little over 2 months old. This is my observation. Girl was the leading twin and weighed less than the boy at birth. Initially wasn't eating much but now eats more than her brother. They currently weigh exactly the same. The boy started lifting his head, following movement, staring at faces, reacting to sound, making sounds and smiling before his sister. She caught up shortly after for all this within one week. They both surprisingly hold their heads up steady for their ages. Also heard girls are faster and my older daughter achieved all milestones(except teething) at a far earlier age than her brothers did at their time. It isnt working like that for my twins for now. Who knows, the pattern might change later. It's probably too early for me to assume that the boy would always be ahead in terms of milestones. Not sure of exactly what area or milestone you feel your boy is lagging behind in and for how long. Could you be a bit more specific? |
lovinam:Are you serious about the 8 children? All biological? Any multiples? |
Doubledouble:Hey Mama. Had asked after you in the pregnancy thread much earlier after I observed you'd been away for so long. How are you and your LOs doing? Good to have you back. About the combination of breastfeeding and formula without water, it also works for my 2 months+2wks old twins. They don't take water and are not constipated. I actually attempted to give them on 2 occasions. The girl rejected it and threw up the little that managed to pass through her throat while she was crying. The boy took but I didn't give after those 2 attempts and observed it didn't affect them negatively. Like you said observation is the key. I could never have tried excluding water with my 3 older kids back then. Recipe for constipation big time! Depends on what works for each baby. |

blessedtwins:Okay. Just sent a mail. @mzfunshy, such detailed and interesting bs. Thank God it all ended well. How are you and your LO doing? Trust u're healing well now. God bless you and your LO. |

Doubledouble:Iya Ibeji how u dey? Since you announced the birth of your twins, you no show face again. Hope you all are okay. Any Mama out there that knows Doubledouble personally? Kindly confirm that she's okay. No bs after delivery and no post in this or any other thread. Iyaderachuks, been a while she 'showed face' too. |

cutienik:Do you have older kids? My 1yr 8mths son used to cry and run from potty. What I did was to tell his older ones that when they want to poo or wee, they should tell me to his hearing.when they do i'll ask them to bring the potty and poo or wee in it so that he can see them. When they're done,we all clap for the person that did it and I tell him 'poo poo in the potty' he'll repeat it after me. Within 2 days, he began to willing sit and when he's done, he'll shout 'poo poo in the potty'. Alternatively you can buy the soft baby toilet seat that fits on the toilet. My daughter never used a potty, she started potty training directly on the normal toilet seat(with the soft baby type fitted in). With my first child, when DH wanted to use the loo,he would take my son in with him to watch and understand what was expected of him. Hope this helps. |
@tatacherie also increase LO's water intake. |
@ tatacherie good to know you and LO are doing well. About the ration of water to formula, please don't reduce it. Follow the instruction on the tin. I've read somewhere and also been adviced by a Dr that reduction or increment of the ration can make a baby to become I'll over a period of time. Have you considered changing the formula to another brand? My first 2 kids took SMA gold and they were fine. Started with SMA for the 3rd and constipation was bad. Would poo once in 6-7 days. Switched to Frisolac, same issue. With Nan it was 1ce in 5 days. It hurt to see him suffer so much but I wasn't lactating well and couldn't afford high end formula more expensive than SMA gold and Frisolac. Hubby then suggested My Boy eldorine. Initially I refused vehemently(don't know why I had always looked down on it back then). But watching my baby suffer constipation coupled with a paed's advice to switch again,i tried My Boy and men, his bowel movement got better. It was the first brand I tried for my twins and they've been fine. Now i'm not advising you switch to my boy. I'm suggesting you try another brand. What works for one baby may not work for another. I know mums whose LO's experienced the opposite of what my 3rd experienced with SMA and Nan. The brand you're using just might not be suitable for your LO. And if you do decide to switch to any other brand, buy only 1 tin first(just in case it may not work for your baby) and observe closely for reactions within 3days. Pele dear. Don't worry by the time your LO hits the 2-3months mark, she would have developed a pattern that you understand and hopefully would be convenient for you. Kisses to her. |

Jeweld1:Welcome on board and happy bumping to you. Wish you stress free preggy journey and sweet+safe delivery in advance. |
Jennifer89:I experienced it o. Initially I panicked and assumed that probably I had carried triplets, not twins and maybe the doctor didn't notice the 3rd one because the ball-like thing was big and actually moved from time to time. Also, there was this appointment I had in 1st trimester when the dr did scan and we saw 3 sacs as against the 2 in a previous scan. Don't know what later happened to the 3rd one sha. A later one revealed 2.Anyway, the 'ball' gradually reduced in size and my tummy is almost back to it's pre-pregnancy size. |
@ eminya, chinwendym, beedam, real cuties you have there. Missed all the others. ![]() |
mompurity2:Around 14 weeks. Good thing u don't experience MS. There's more than enough package to deal with already. |
@ asagal, congrats. May your joy know no bounds. @ cutienik, welcome. Happy bumping to you. |
@ Chinwendym and Megilicious happy birthday to you both. May the best of your past be the worst of your future. Mama Ekene you look so fresh and beautiful . Trust Ekene is doing well. |
mamadowell:Congrats Mama. May his arrival bring forth unending blessings to your home. |
olubankemi:May God grant your wish for the mix. They are 8 weeks old now, 7 weeks at the time the picture was taken. I had to deal with discharge for the greater part of the pregnancy. It was also itchy down there but after tests, nothing was detected so there was no cause for alarm. I used panty liners for the discharge so that I wouldn't feel uncomfortable and have to wipe every now and then. I did not have a cervical cerclage done. Infact I had never come across those 2 words until one Mama on this thread asked me if I had it done since I was carrying multiples. I think if you would need it your Dr would let you know. Maybe you should ask about it at your next appointment. Nurse Kaffy4bill, tchiwinnie, soonest, etc pls help throw more light on the cerclage issue. Hmm the kicks weren't funny at all. Double fa and they were both very active in there. The kicks were even more manageable than the turning. They kept turning and it was so painful. I remember when scan revealed that they were both head down at 35weeks after a previous one showed that the leading twin was breech(apparently she later turned). I was so confident that there was no space for them to turn again after 35 weeks. With the excitement that both being head down meant I had a good chance of vag delivery, I rushed home to pop wine in celebration with my hubby and kids . To my dismay the turning continued few days later and by 37 weeks they were both breech. Had to be booked for CS against 37 weeks+5days.It all turned out well in the end. Thank God for life and good health. Just hang in there. Fret not. You'll be fine. |
HumbledbYGrace:Sorry once again about the pain. Lucky you for that wonderful man of yours. We'll be so looking forward to that visit. ![]() |
HumbledbYGrace:Sorry about the pain dear. Have you spoken with your Dr. About it? Don't worry, before you know it the preggy journey would be over and you'll hold your bundle of joy. There you go. |
