I logged-in yesterday to keep u guys posted abt d latest happening bt discovered it was tym for thread cutie, so I quietly retreat frm posting any sad news at dat joyful hour.

Yes it hit me real hard when my lovely Mum finally died in my hands, afta 4days of illness. I'm in soo much pains at d moment. Scared wen lonely, cry every night, memories of her on ending as all my lyf she has bn close to me n dh.

My mum cudnt wait to see my baby n takia of us as we hav both planned.

Pls wat do I need to do to get dis pain off my mind n her memories too?

So so sorry for your loss dear. I understand how you feel. Lost mine 19 years ago and I was the closest of her kids to her. No day passes by that I don't wish she could be here to see how far I have come and what I have achieved, to be my best buddie.

You can't whisk away the pain and memories off your mind just like that. It's not that easy. Remember the good times you shared with her and see them as a privilege from God to have known someone as wonderful as her. Only time and God can heal your pain. Cry all you want if it'll make you feel better but don't wallow in grief for too long. She'll want you to move on knowing she'll be watching over you and yours,wont she?

God knows best. May he strengthen and comfort you and your family in this trying time and may her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Thanks dear. It is stressful o. Thankfully they're not colicky babies and have started to sleep up to 4hrs at a stretch and almost at the same time.The stress is all worth it sha. I'm grateful to have them.

I initially wanted a BG twin but dh doesn't want twins...although both my mum and mil are praying for twins. I don't even know what I want anymore, im keeping my fingers crossed
How early can a scan detect multiples?

Mine was detected at 6weeks, fetal heartbeat at 8weeks. Gender at 16 weeks.

Frisomum usually has a best before date and not an expiry date. Best before implies that the product can be consumed after the date indicated without causing harm only that it will no longer be in its best form(in terms of maybe taste or appearance). Expiry date on the other hand means the product is no longer safe for consumption by that date and must be discarded.

You're good to go regarding the frisomum cos even if it's 'expiry' that's indicated on the tin, we haven't gotten to that date yet. But i'm positive it's best before on it.

This are not ordinary tears but tears of joy. I never knew God loved me this much and answers my hrt desires. I just found out now that am carrying TWINS . OMG! What did I do to deserve this gifts . After 2 shameful years of TTC God decided to honor me with double. Indeed God is not a robber. I can't stop shedding tears of joy. My mouth can never be shut frm testifying of his goodness.

I want to shout a very loud Alhamdulillah, Thank God and Thank you mothers for standing by me in prayers. My sister who was kidnapped on Monday has been released after paying ransom twice. hmm confusion in d kidnappers camp. They asked for ******, we bargained down to ****** which was taken to them, d guy who received d money ran away with it n didn't return to his partner in crime where my sister was held. The other guy felt cheated n demanded for another pay n we pleaded with ****. And she was $released unharmed last night. God bless u all.

Thank God she's safe. You can't imagine how happy I am. May God torment her kidnappers!

Going by my personal experience, it's not true. Four pregnancies that produced a boy,a girl,a boy and a girl+boy(twins), I had no ms at all. Only threw up once in the 2nd pregnancy after eating water melon. Serious heartburn+pelvic pain in 2nd to 4th pregnancies. Malaria twice in the fourth. Dazzall.

Relax my dear sister. That 'theory' no follow abeg. Kids are blessings from God. Just accept and enjoy whatever sex you end up with. People will always say things. Don't let anxiety over the sex finish you. When it's time you can go for scan to check the sex except if you want to wait till delivery to enjoy the surprise.

Taking a glass of milk or chewing gum that contained milk immediately after eating such meals helped prevent the heartburn from coming up. Also helped reduce the heartburn if it had started before I could lay my hands on either of the two. Like @soonest suggested, a good antacid would help. Pele.

Sorry I can't help on this issue. Had 3 babies before the twins. The twins presently sleep in separate cots which their older ones used.

Sorry dear. I can relate with that. Heartburn didn't spare me in my 2nd,3rd and 4th pregnancies. It was this 4th one I discovered that taking a glass of milk worked like a charm for me. I love beans a lot but observed that beans and every other form of protein triggered unbearable heartburn. What I did was take a glass of milk immediately after consuming them and I was fine.

I also would chew gum that contains mint when heartburn starts where I don't have access to milk. It would make me belch several times and i'd be relieved. Try them out and see if they'll work for you.

Don't worry,they end of the journey is already in sight. Looking forward to reading your bs.

When you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart. Lying on your back for an extended period of time could make you feel dizzy. It could also interfere with the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and your developing baby. Please make consistent effort to train yourself to lie on your side. Lying on your tummy should also be avoided.

Eat healthy and well balanced meals. Take lots of fruits and water too. Avoid pineapple o. It was when I joined this thread that I found out that it triggers contractions. Though eating pineapple didn't affect me but people are different. Better safe than sorry. Also be very observant about what meals trigger some particular unpleasant reactions. For me every form of protein excluding milk triggered unbearable heartburn-even a small piece of meat. Ginger did the same too. Incidentally,milk gave me instant remedy for the heartburn. Be consistent with your prenatal drugs and appointments and always ask question in any area you are not clear about.

Don't get carried away with shopping and buying everything your eye enters. Not everything you see is compulsory. There're some items you may buy and your baby may never get to make use of. Work with a budget and haggle prices in different shops before you settle for one so that you don't get cheated. Also try to shop early so that the experience won't be too tiring for you.

I'm sure other sabi Mamas would give their imput. May you carry to term and deliver safely.

Mompurity, at 6-8 weeks USS will show your baby. It will date and also show the position of your baby to rule out any abnormalities in position.
From 20 weeks you can detect the sex of your baby.
At 38weeks you can see the most likely condition your LO will be on arrival.
There is also this scan Nurse Kaffy4bill talked about o....that detects any abnormality in the foetus...what is it called again o. Its more expensive than the regular scan ( like #20k where I asked o)

I guess the more expensive scan being referred to here is Doppler Ultrasound. Did mine at OMVIAL 4D Ultrasound Centre, 9 Fadeyi Street, Off Awolowo Way, By Ikeja Bus stop, Lagos. Tel: 08036166396, 09099745678. Found out about it via this thread- 4D Ultrasound & Doppler Scan: For Pregnant Mothers.

I was told they have centres in a few other states.
