seunmsg: Lies from the pit of hell! So how come national assembly results were uploaded in real time? The electoral act clearly States that only results transmitted directly from polling units shall be collated! So the promise or not, is immaterial. People should please read section 64(4) of the electoral act 2022. |

Politics / Re: Tinubu Economic Advisers Propose Customs, NIMASA, FIRS Merger by GoodGovernance: 11:11am On Jun 16, 2023 |
How dare you merge customs,NIMASA and FIRS? Orisirisi economic advisers There are other revenue generating agencies and all of them should be FORCED to operate effectively and efficiently. I propose Nigerian Revenue & Monitoring Commission(NRMC) that could serve as the "general overseer " of all revenue generating agencies, where all FG revenues are monitored and consolidated using high level technology. The NRMC should have investigation and prosecution powers. Centralisation of revenue sources could be very fatal! |
Business / Re: Naira Begins Recovery After Float, Closes At ₦664/$ At I&E Window by GoodGovernance: 12:34pm On Jun 15, 2023 |
dacool1: Not quite. Floating is a better way of managing the scarcity of the dollar, rather than fixing the exchange rate. In relative terms, floating would encourage more dollar inflow into the economy, because the exchange would be at market rate(comprising of willing buyers and willing sellers) But if you fixed the rate, you might end up with so many excess demand from Willing buyers, but without Willing sellers, because of the unfavourably fixed exchange rate. The alternative, for the excess demand, is the black market. Ultimately, the supply side of the dollar can only be boosted by higher local productivity plus exports, and less dependency on imports. |
Business / Re: Naira Begins Recovery After Float, Closes At ₦664/$ At I&E Window by GoodGovernance: 12:11pm On Jun 15, 2023 |
imbless: Your use of English does not suggest you are more intelligent than others. Anyway, the logic behind the floating of the Naira,is for it to attain its natural market value, whether high or low, such that CBN would no longer further deplete our forex reserves, defending the Naira from falling. The depletion of the forex reserves was boosted by the fixed rate regime, because CBN was supplying forex from the reserves,to meet up with the excess demand. But when you float the Naira, the excess demand for forex ,would be automatically curtailed on a daily basis,no need for CBN intervention. The more productive and less import dependent the economy becomes, the lower the demand for forex and thus the higher the value of the Naira. It is a marathon race and not a sprint. |

sapele914: So how did someone that lost his base in Lagos and Osun, win in Rivers State? Your arguments and those of others Lack both logical and sensibly reasoning. The fact that Tinubu lost in Lagos does not imply that he did not rig in Rivers and other states, in criminal partnership with Wike and others. Only someone with chicken brain would believe that Tinubu losing Lagos, means the election was free and fair ,in general! 1 Like |

Gullible Nigerians will never learn! June is the peak of raining season, there is no remarkable rework of the electrical infrastructure to warrant sudden constant power supply. It happened in June last year and after Buhari's inauguration in 2015, would continue for a while. 1 Like |

The president cannot suspend or remove CBN governor without the National Assembly. This is a simple and very logical procedure to checkmate the excesses and corrupt tendencies of the president. |

FACT CHECK According to INEC, Over 14million accredited voters did not vote for Tinubu, whilst only about 8 million voted for him, The truth: Tinubu only got the highest number of votes but definitely not the majority of votes cast! 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Increase Workers Minimum Wage To N200,000 – TUC Tells FG by GoodGovernance: 10:14pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Clowns. FG should use savings on subsidy to pay workers who are of very insignificant percentage of the whole population of 200million. Rubbish. Savings on subsidy must be used for the benefit of all Nigerians such as providing infrastructure like stable power, roads, railways and an efficient mass transit system that will also accommodate the transportation of farm products. Both the FG and its workers are working for the over 200million people of Nigeria. 1 Like |

magoo10: You cannot use exparte court order to injure the other party or force the other party to part away with huge sum of money in the form of subsidy.Going back to old price means losses to the other party. But Labour cannot lose anything by suspending the strike. More so ,subsidy became illegal by virtue of the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act 2022. |

The richest men have their own houses and they are wise investors and never will rent a house for $150k,except perhaps with stolen money. Politics / Re: Court Invalidates NBC's powers to Impose Sanctions, Fines On Broadcast Stations by GoodGovernance: 1:18pm On May 10, 2023 |
Long awaited. Many times they impose illegal fines without fair hearing . An organisation that is headed by a political nominee of the ruling party ,which is also controlled by the ministry of information, should never be given such powers without recourse to the court of law. That can only lead to tyranny and suppression of press freedom. 2 Likes |

Even though this is really a case of betrayal of trust and not backstabbing. There is nothing foolish in revealing your intention to someone you believe is your friend. It is the highest level of business betrayal, for the same friend to outsmart you on the same issue, without prior dialogue. 2 Likes |
