The CDS reports to both the President and Minister of Defence.

The NSA reports to only the President.

The NSA is also a member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and National Security Council (NSC). The CDS is only a member of the latter.

That said, the CDS manages a larger body and has a much larger budget.

NSA is definitely above CoAS, CNS and CAS.

The NSA is not a member of Federal Executive Council.

And whilst the CDS is a member of both National Defense Council and the National Security Council ,the NSA is only a member of National Security Council,in accordance with the constitution.

It is also wrong to say a service chief like COAS,that does not report to the NSA,is lower than the latter.

The Chief of Army Staff, CHIEF of Air Staff, Chief of Naval staff all reporting to the CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF. The chief of defence staff then report to the MINISTER FOR DEFENCE, while the minister for defence report to the PRESIDENT. On any security matters reported to the president by the minister for defence the president then call in the N.S.A on action to take on the report and whatever its decided by the N.S.A and the president, will be transmit to the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY [IF NEEDED] So the NSA is not bigger than the service chief in any way

For clarity's sake, the military is not answerable to the NSA. NSA is only an adviser to the president. A lot of things are being changed for the better in this regime. Cause ex-generals have often taken that position in the past or say since inception of democracy doesn't mean it's part of the military hierarchy. In some countries, women (non-military) have taken that position especially in developed countries.

The role of the NSA is basically advisory.He is the consultant on national security.

The NSA advises the president on national security issues and intelligence. He does not have any commanding power over the service chiefs neither do they report to him.

However he may perform any other duty assigned to him by the president.

In the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria,The NSA was mentioned only once,as a member of the National Security Council

Section 60 of Nigeria Electoral Act 2022 mandated the PO to transmit results and failure to do so attracts penalty of either #500,000 or a term of at least 6 months minimum.

Read below the electoral Act as quoted verbatim with little footnotes:

(1) The Presiding officer shall, after counting the votes at the polling unit, enter the votes scored by each candidate in a form to be prescribed by the Commission as the case may be.

Section 64(4)is more appropriate. It states categorically that results must be transmitted from polling units.

INEC chairman clearly stated before the election that results won’t be transmitted real time to IREV from polling units and the story was reported by leading national newspapers like Punch, tribune and Vanguard. The electoral act clearly States that only results transmitted directly from polling units shall be collated!

So the promise or not, is immaterial.

There are other revenue generating agencies and all of them should be FORCED to operate effectively and efficiently.

I propose Nigerian Revenue & Monitoring Commission(NRMC) that could serve as the "general overseer " of all revenue generating agencies,where all FG revenues are monitored and consolidated using high level technology.

The NRMC should have investigation and prosecution powers.

Centralisation of revenue sources could be very fatal!

Floating is a better way of managing the scarcity of the dollar,rather than fixing the exchange rate.

In relative terms, floating would encourage more dollar inflow into the economy,because the exchange would be at market rate(comprising of willing buyers and willing sellers)

But if you fixed the rate,you might end up with so many excess demand from Willing buyers, but without Willing sellers,because of the unfavourably fixed exchange rate.

The alternative,for the excess demand, is the black market.

Ultimately, the supply side of the dollar can only be boosted by higher local productivity plus exports,and less dependency on imports.

Anyway, the logic behind the floating of the Naira,is for it to attain its natural market value,whether high or low,such that CBN would no longer further deplete our forex reserves,defending the Naira from falling.


The depletion of the forex reserves was boosted by the fixed rate regime,because CBN was supplying forex from the reserves,to meet up with the excess demand.

But when you float the Naira, the excess demand for forex ,would be automatically curtailed on a daily basis,no need for CBN intervention.


The more productive and less import dependent the economy becomes,the lower the demand for forex and thus the higher the value of the Naira.

It is a marathon race and not a sprint.

can the courts also order oil marketers to revert to old prices of pms just as they ordered discontinuation of deadline for new currency notes.

You cannot use exparte court order to injure the other party or force the other party to part away with huge sum of money in the form of subsidy.Going back to old price means losses to the other party.

But Labour cannot lose anything by suspending the strike.

More so ,subsidy became illegal by virtue of the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act 2022.
