Both Obasanjo and the insulted kings have their share of blame. Obasanjo's portion was because he rubbished the traditionally deserved respect for the traditional stools of the obas and the obas' portion was that they were not KINGLY enough to make Obasanjo see the consequence of his STUPIDITY AGAINST THE TRADITION. Bode Thomas, a then DIVISIONAL COUNCIL HEAD did the same thing to a single Oba Adeyemi the 2nd(Father of the immediate past Alaafin) on the 22nd of November 1953 and at just a pronouncement from Oba Adeyemi, Bode Thomas started barking like a dog. He continued barking like a dog till he died on the 23rd of November 2023. I am very sure of Something, If Oba Lamidi Adeyemi the 3rd was in that gathering that day, Obasanjo would not try that nonsense because he knows that The Adeyemi dynasty would not tolerate that. He just took advantage of the absence of the REAL KINGS like Oba Adeyemi. Instead of Obasanjo to apologize, the kings are better made to resign enmass because THEY ARE NOT KINGLY ENOUGH

Education / Re: What Offence Did a Student Who Approached His Female Lecturer For love Commit? by Goodleader(m): 10:00pm On Sep 05, 2022
The guy is actually a lucky chap for not to have been tried by school management for SEXUAL HARASSMENT which may attract punishment of EXPULSION. What he did was wrong and that shows that the guy is not intelligent at all. Having been warned, he should have pretended to have forgotten about the FEELING till the end of project work and when the final result is out, he should have tried again. what the teacher did was the best decision for that situation because if she had agreed to date him and the guy passed very well in the research work, a small petition to ICPC could have landed her into trouble because the assessment may be termed subjective and that would have meant that the lady used her official responsibility to promote her personal relationship with her(Boyfriend) student. That is another version of SEX FOR MARKS.

Osama bin laden. Clean your mouth and stop lying Muslim. You are no Christian who lived in the north. Pathetic liar.

Go and start by reading Quran 9:5 and come back.
Definetly, you are a subjective mind whose sense if reasoning is be clouded with religious bigotry. You don't even have contextual understanding of the verse you quoted. Instead of blaming perpetrators of evil act, you are transferring your sentiments to their supposed religion. Take it or not I am a Christian who has been resident in the north close to 4 decades
Crime / Re: Deborah Samuel: Aftermath Of The Sokoto Student's Lynching (Graphic Photo) by Goodleader(m): 9:01pm On May 13, 2022
I am not a Muslim but based on my about 4decades experience in the north, this barbaric act was not done in fulfillment of any Islamic dictate but some social hooligans just hid under religion to execute personal vendetta. As a Christian, I have read quran more severally but can not remember and quranic verse justifying this act. Apart from this, my interactions with learned islamic scholars over the years have proven that ISLAM is a religion of peace. Blasphemy, if actually committed, is punishable by death but that has to be pronounced by competent court like Sharia court. The same happened in a more volatile Kano and the young man was handed over to court that later condemned him to death..
Why will some group of miscreants perpetrate crime and the whole world will ascribe it to ISLAM? Those boys are just criminal and their deed has no support in genuine ISLAM which the holy Prophet(SAW) propagated.
A critical assessment of the situation will show any intelligent head that those boys just took advantage of the circumstance to settle personal beef with the deceased. The problem state through a conversation on a class social media group which means the bulk of the perpetrators are the girl's classmates and may be some of those boys had asked that girl out before and she abusively rejected their advances. To any other person from another region, this may look too minute a reason to kill but an average Hausa boy can easily eliminate a girl who turns down his love advances especially when the rejection is done abusively. My almost 40years stay in the not has taught a lot about Hausa boys. Maybe if investigations are conducted within the class members, the girl may have abused some of her Hausa toasters or even jilted some of them which brought about a gang up.
Another issue is that the easiest way to vilify your enemy is to crest and excuse with religious colouration and every other person sees the person as a common enemy without any investigation.
The report claimed that the girl ran to security post for refuge but the mob overpowered the security. This I don't believe. The security guy just sacrificed the girl because they hook her with blasphemy.
These criminal should not be allowed to free in an ideal situation but the north that o know will provide cover for the criminals as a sign of RELIGIOUS SOLIDARITY. the boys had their evil and u Islamic intention but hid under defense of Islamic doctrine of blasphemy to attract societal sympathy. The region of ISLAM has nothing to do with what those boys did at all and no one should ascribe the madness to ISLAM at all but thorough and objective investigation should be down and we shall know the REAL REASON for the MURDER that is being wrongly blamed on ISLAM.
Politics / Re: Malami Withdraws From Kebbi Governorship, To Remain As AGF by Goodleader(m): 8:10pm On May 13, 2022
Hmmmmmmmmm. Mallami may have withdrawn to settle for a more national elective assignment like vice presidential ticket. The only issue he may have is that the Dude is not a NATIONAL POLITICIAN. Those who really know him can testify to this. Many non KEBBI indigenes voted for Buhari to make him president thereby making Mallami a minister but Malami will NEVER help any person who is resident in KEBBI but not a KEBBI person especially when Federal apointment is concerned. A federal minister with a state commissioner worldview. This is a secret of ADAMU ALIERO cosmopolitan acceptance in Kebbi. Even if Mallami gets the ticket he can not win. He does not have what it takes to win even at the primaries.

So sorry sir!
Actually, there is nothing like bribery in my faculty..at least,I am sure of that..we all worked hard for our grades

Just realizing my mistake now...Am so sorry sir once again!
To err is human and to forgive is divine. You are pardoned. Just learn to focus on issues at hand next time and not the personality involved. Take constructive criticism in good faith and work on the observed weaknesses in any situation and you would be better for it. You are attending the same university I attended many years ago. One day you too will leave and become an alumnus of the school. If you are supporting the oppressive teachers by mistaking man made difficulties for quality, the system will not change. One of the lines of your school anthem says: 'ALUTA AGAINST ALL OPPRESSION' Always stand against academic oppression. I pray that God should help you protect the class of degree you are making from the preying eyes of the good for nothing teachers you call lecturers. All I have been contributing in this tread are product of experience. I was a visiting scholar in one of your faculties for 5years and I voluntarily withdrew my service when some things that are at variance with my academic belief started happening.I know what I am saying. The fact that you don't bribe does not mean that all those grades you see on the result board are earned. Most of them are bought. Good night

Not everyone will graduate with a bad grade like you bro..I have a lot of 500 level guys that are still on 4.7+ in this same OAU faculty of Technology..am done with third year already..

In this coming convocation next week, faculty of Technology will be graduating the highest number of first class(26)..so it is not a new thing to maintain a CGPA bro...
Meanwhile,I will be starting 400 level soon!
Your response is an evidence that you are uncultured. You leave the message to attack the Messanger, which is at variance with behavioural pattern of a first class material. I only told you the plain truth and you resorted to insult. For your information, I graduated from University of Nigeria about 3decades ago and my class of degree qualified me to run a Phd in University of Ife without Masters . Find out from your teachers the class of degree that could enjoy such grace. Graduating from OAU engineering with a first class will not surprise my type because it is not new to me. I bagged PhD from University of Ife and not from OAU where sex and bribes are exchanged for marks. One of your professors is currently serving a jail term for a sex for mark offence. I personally respect a second class lower degree awarded in 90s than your type of first-class if you actually make it. Be disciplined when next you are responding to issues on line because you don't know who is behind the keyboard

Me as a 300level first class engineering student of OAU,will surely never have a "B" grade in this Bowen university..not bragging!!
Only OAU students can understand.. Imagine someone that can't even maintain consecutive 1.0 CGPA in OAU having a first class in a private university...LMAO..
Schooling in a federal university is one of the most terrible and best experience someone can ever have..
Just third year? Your 2:1 is not even assured yet in that favulty. Okay. Let us know your CGPA at the end of IST semester 500 level when those ACCIDENTAL TEACHER called saddists must have noticed you
Education / Re: Ibukunoluwa Are Withdrawn From OAU For Bad Performance, Grabs 1st Class At Bowen by Goodleader(m): 10:30pm On Dec 02, 2021
This news is in no way an indication that Bowen University awards first class degree on the platter of cheapness. So many factors come into play for that class of degree to be achieved. The same person sent away by OAU on the ground of poor academic performance went to Bowen and made first class because she went and studied at Bowen with a different mind set and determination. She probably was unserious at OAU but made good use of of the second chance she had at Bowen. We should realise that most of the times, the same set of scholars who teach in government universities teach at private universities. Institutions of higher learning are places for self development upon which the lecturers have negligible influence. I have friends who graduated with second class upper division grade from public universities including THE OAU but could not make PhD grades during their MSC programmes in private universities. The truth is that most of these public universities are overrated and this affects the academic mindset of their students. An average graduate of OAU believes that he /she better off his/her contemporaries from universities from northern Nigeria but the same NUC assessed these universities severally and adjudged ABU , BUK and UNILORIN to be better than the so called GREAT IFE and the likes of UNILAG. I have been on the panels of interviewers for job more than twice and students of unknown private and State universities outperformed the federal universities graduates. Our problem most of the times is ARROGANCE OF INTELLIGENCE. The craze to attend these overrated schools keeps so many of our children as permanent Jambites at homes because they keep wasting the scores that would have been useful in other schools. What the Laws know about all these schools is different from what we think we know about them. It is surprising to know that a degree certificate issued by University of Ibadan established in 1948 is not better than the one issued by Federal University Otuoke established in 2015. Let's stop wasting our precious time chasing shadow. A word they say is enough for the wise

I left the University about 2 decades ago and can not remember the category I did belong. All I know is that I won the prize for Faculty best graduating student and the first runner up to the best graduating student in the entire university that year. Can someone place me in a category?

Let everyone in this house hear and believe this: the correct expression is
'MY NAME IS'.Your name is one, every other one included in the norminal expression is a qualifier and should not affect the verb pattern(is/are) with which such name is associated. No matter the number, once they belong to an individual, names are treated as a unit.End of discussion.

I never really wanted to join this argument but something within me said that i should let you people know this fact: FIRST CLASS IS HIGHLY POLITICAL, as for 2.1, the degree of politicization is minimal. On average, over 60 percent of people who parade these grades today are originally materials for lower grades while the reverse is the case with 2.2 people and the rest. For example, I graduated from one of the so called best universities in Nigeria with a Bachelor of Art degree. After the external moderation, my CGPA was 4.62 but the powers that be denied me because i refused to play along by oiling their palms(bribe). My Dean called me to his office and said that a first class certificate, anywhere in the world, was synonimous to licence to print money, therefore i must part with some coins to have it. A principled being that i am, i refused. Eventually, i graduated with 4.48 CGPA. A less brainy guy paid his way to get it in falculty of management science but today, he can not defend it because he has not even been able to pass a common recruitment test.We have met several times. At last, he has gone back to teach in his department because he was retained. I was retained too but refused because i can not pitch my tent with those academic cowards.
