Prayer is an expression of the soul trying to contact its maker, its a way of communicating with the spiritual, its a cry for help from above.
There are many instances and inferences in the bible where passionate prayers were demonstrated and which you may call getting physical with prayers:

Jesus was praying in the garden of Gethsemane for the cup to go over him and the bible recorded that his sweat was as thick as blood,such prayers are not ordinary, it must have been physical for him to be sweating like that in an open and cold garden before dawn.

Another example is Elijah, after the bloody power play with the prophets of Baal on mount carmel,
He wanted to pray for rain and the bible recorded that he sat on the ground and put his head between his laps to pray!
I'm sure many on Nairaland seeing such prayers would have called him mad, but Elijah prayed such acrobatic prayers and got results.

Ishilove: Some years back, I was sick and my boyfriend came to visit me. It wasn't his intention to stay over but he ended up staying at my place for close to three days, taking care of me, doing my cooking, cleaning and laundry. At night, he stayed awake fanning me and chatting with me so that I wouldn't feel the oppressive silence of night.

He doesn't like rain but he took a bike and entered the pouring rain to get me drugs and food that I ended up vomitting, but he never once complained. While I tossed and turned in bed, he lay on the floor even though it was big enough to accomodate both of us. Whenever he came to the bed, it was just to fan me, massage my feet and make sure I was comfortable, and once I fell asleep, he would resume vigil on the cold hard floor.

Though he we have long broken up, his totally devoted attention and care during my illness is the best any man has ever given me and till date, I am yet to come across any man who can beat this.

I have said this over and over again,it was very wrong of a former president to make such deregatory statement about the current president,if he was wise as he claims what stops him from calling the incumbent president and relay his advise to him on a personal ground but no,he went ahead to expose his hatred and bad belle for the whole world to see. I quite agree with gbinite because he is a security expert,he has appeared severally on focus nigeria and i know an intelligent man when i see one.
That being said,obasanjo spent eight years in power and could not address the BH,although it was not loud in his time because he played to the piper and always appeased the northern leaders,but the issue here is that Hos excellency the current president is not doing thesame and hence the insurgence of BH which is purely political.I advise the foemer president to tow the part of honour like IBB,shonekan,Gowon etc to pray and keep quiet if he has nothing good to say about the current government.
