So today is our first birthday. I’ve been trying to get a shot of him but the boy won’t cooperate.

First, he hid his face and then closed his eyes.
My boy is not in the mood to take pics.

Happy birthday King D. I love you So much.

Same product, same company, different countries. There is slight variations in their nutritional composition though.
Thank you.

@ Droyal, this is the picture. I think i’ve used the one from Netherlands too. That one from Mexico forms seeds if you mix it in pap and gave my baby terrible loose stool.

Thank you for the response. Can I use this bathwash to wash her hair in place of shampoo? Also I'm not the one bathing her for now its MIL. She scrub her hair with soap and sponge in the morning and dosnt wash at all in the evening.
Yes, if it’s head to toe wash. I used Sebamed baby shampoo. Since it’s MIL that is bathing baby now, just calm down until you take over.

Personally, I don’t scrub my babies. I use my palm to bathe and my fingers to wash the hair. Their are not dirty and their skin is soft and tender.

OK thanks mama. I thought using the savlon liquid was the right thing to do for babies sad
Also how often is babies hair to be washed? morning and night or just morning?

Also, we use that normal baby sponge should we switch to foam?
If you have concerns about the water, you can use cooled boiled water.
I.e. boil the water you’ll use in the evening in the morning, pour it inside a bucket/bowl with cover and use as cold water in the evening.

I use my bare hands with soap to bathe my baby until he’s 3 months, then I switch to wash cloth and start using sponge as from 1 year or as the spirit leads. No rashes, no eczema, no dry skin. If you are using sponge, always rinse it out thoroughly after use and dry it before using it again. Moist sponge can harbor germs and be spreading rashes and you won’t know where it’s coming from.

I wash their hair 2 or 3 times in a week with baby shampoo. Other times, I use only water to rinse the hair to moisturize it.

Please Mamas that use Nan milk, I observed that there are two types in the market. One is made in Mexico with a gold cover and the spoon is inside the milk. The second one is made in France and the spoon is on top of the seal and has a white cover for 1 and 2, and gold transparent cover for stage 3.

My baby started taking the one from France but Dh mistakenly bought the on from Mexico and we had loose stool until I figured out the reason. Immediately I switched back to his usual one, his stool changed.

We need to be observant with all that is going on now. The regulatory bodies seem to be asleep. Check expiration date and manufacturing date and country. Observe the pack of your product so you can easily detect changes.

My son has been running high temperature for 2weeks now. I took him to Angelic care children s
Hospital in Abuja, full blood count test was done , it came out positive (1+) iinjections and drugs like lokmal, camoquine was given yet it persisted . His head is always hot. We did another test but this time blood culture and nothing was seen. We did another full blood count and It came out positive again (1+) drugs were given yet he's is still down with fever. He is very weak. Pls what do I do?. And any recommendation of another children's hospital in Abuja will be appreciated pls.
Hello mama, go and buy glucose. Add it to his food and water. Keep your baby well hydrated. Offer both the glucose water and normal water. It is possible the baby has a viral infection. The antibiotics may not help.

Fever in children is not necessarily bad as we always assume. When children develop fever, it is the way their body fights off infection by producing heat to burn off the bacteria/virus.
If you have taken an antibiotics and cleared of malaria, as long as the temperature is under 40*C and the child is above 6 months with no underlying medical condition,it’s not a red flag.

My son just came out of this yesterday. I got a 39.7 one night and I didn’t sleep for some days because I was constantly checking his temperature.

My tips for handling fever:
1. Note the temperature.
2. I bathe/ pour lukewarm water on the child. This reduces the temp better than just using wet cloth.
3. Then give paracetamol/nurofen. I interchanged at interval.
4. Wore the baby loose clothes if necessary to avoid cold. If the baby gets cold, he may start shivering and that will make the body to produce more heat.
5. Offer small portion of food at interval to curb throwing up due to high fever.
6. I give glucose water. The logic is this, the body burns energy as it produces heat and you need to replenish this for strength and the brain needs it too.
7. If your baby is like mine that takes the glucose water sparingly, I mix his food and milk with glucose and give him plain water frequently. I also give lots of fruits, it helps.
8. If you do 3 and 4 and the temperature keep rising upto 37-37.5 for 0 to 3 months, 37.5-38 for 3 to 6months, 39.5 for above 6 months, head to the hospital.

For babies 0 to 2 months and preemies, all high temperature should be resolved in the hospital.
If your child is not eating, lethargic or seems non responsive, head to the hospital.
Mothers should insist that a test be carried out before they start any antibiotics. Nigerians, stop abusing antibiotics.

Have your family doctor or paed’s number. You don’t know when you’ll need it.

Pweetiebabe, please accept my sympathy.
No woman deserves this but we cannot question God.
May the Holy Spirit comfort you and your family this period and grant you the fortitude to bear the loss. The God that formed this angel in your womb is still in the business of doing good and blessing wombs, he will not forsake you this period. For every loss, he will embarrass you with double that comes with perfect Shalom, amen.
Receive the grace to live above this pain and peace that surpasses human understanding.
Take care.

This same thing happened to me like 3 or 4 weeks postpartum. It was not a funny experience, mine even came with purging. The nurse that took my delivery prescribed antibiotics then, and it works. So, I advice u consult ur Dr.
This one is an infection ooo. Naija hospitals are not hygienic enough that’s why they give antibiotics after delivery to prevent infections from all the touch and insertions during delivery.
Sometimes the drug won’t prevent nothing especially if you don’t take it religiously or you just need a stronger version of it.

Good evening mamas.
Please I've been having this tummy pain for about an hour now. It turns me as if I want to vomit and it weakens me too.
What could be wrong?
NB: I'm 3weeks post partum

Abeg make una no jump and pass
If it’s like menstrual cramp, then it’s your womb that is shrinking but if it’s like normal pain that you feel from your navel down (maybe you feel the pain when you touch your tummy) then it is an infection. You need to see your doctor to prescribe an antibiotics for you.

Please don’t self medicate oo because of your baby.

Hello everyone . e haff tay small. Greetings from d oda side. In other words my boy is a year today and im not impressed with his weight. We normally carry egg. Pap. Nutrilac to creche. Can't put food there cos I'm scared of choking. Though he eats swallow at home when I'm back from work. My question is this. For ppl who use packaged food like August secrets or babygrubz wich can I buy to add to the food he eats at creche and will make him "fat" a bit. I read one mama recommend pediasure drink. But no one sells it where I'm based. Is there any oda recommendations. I'm open to suggestions
Cc giddyperson . Zaynie . jazzyjazz. Liftedhands. Everyone . thanks in advance
Mama, I attached a graph here. Plot your baby weight there, starting from the birth weight and see if it falls below.
Sometimes, increasing your baby intake may only result to bigger poopoo and nothing more. There are factors that contribute to weight gain.
If your baby’s weight is below, you need your paed. If not, ensure you give your baby balanced diet. Offer milk and maybe add supplements.
Note that if you overdo it, you may be exposing the child to health issues in the future.

My baby sleeps longer facing down than up and that gives me enough time to sleep and do other things. He isnt used to sleeping up for longer hours and thats my major concern bcus i heard sleeping down isnt safe for infants.

Pls what can i do to help him sleep longer facing up cus ill soon stop placing face down except tummy time?[/quote

How old is your baby?
Can your baby turn the head from left to right?
I don’t think it’s bad if your baby can turn the head. Just make sure the bedsheet is well tucked in and there’s no clothes, sheets or anything that can block his airways. Also make sure the room is well ventilated. Nothing stuffy. I am a tummy sleeper and had a tummy sleeper. I took these precautions and we are fine.
Some babies can only sleep on their tummy even the oyibos roger that.

Note: This is my personal opinion, I did this and had no issues.

To all the mamas that are interested, the address is No 51 Oroyinyi street, idumota. It's opposite phone plaza. If you enter through adeniji, you take the second street on the right then turn right. I think that area is still Dosunmu.
You can call this number for directions 08060683390. The name is Chimezie.

Hint: you can ask them to mix the sizes of the items they sell in dozens. E.g.; they sell one size of body suit in dozen but you can ask for say long sleeve body suit in size 0 to 6 months mixed. If you want less number of items, you can get it from another shop around there. But there's seems to be cheaper.

Look for allergin, it’s piriton produced by afrab chem ltd or loratidine and give him morning and night. You have to check the dosage or ask the pharmacist. You have to give him for 7 days.
Continue applying tribotan, it should clear within 2 days.

FamilyRe: My Marriage Is At The Brink Of Collapse Help Me by Graciouscharis: 7:35am On Mar 19, 2018
First of all, this is a one sided story. All of you are judging his wife based on his own side of the story.

Most of these comments are senseless and immature.

Saudiboy, you are immature and insensitive husband. You didn’t act when you are supposed to act and now you are crying wolf wolf. What exactly do you think marriage is all about?

Were you having issues with your wife before she put to birth? No. The problem started after delivery. I think they need to start registering men for antenatal seminars too.

Mr man, women recover from pregnancy and delivery differently. Most women yearn for appreciation and love and reassurance more after delivery. It’s not their fault blame it on the hormones. I perceive you were insensitive to her yearnings. She also didn’t communicate well. I’ll tell you why I said so. Read on.

You brought your “lazy” mother to your house for your wife that is just less than 2 months post partum to take care of, you are insensitive and wicked. Let me be frank with you, I don’t accommodate any extra baggage after delivery until 3 to 4 months postpartum. I need all the pampering I can get. If I can’t get it, I tend to only myself and my baby. It is the woman that needs help not the person visiting her.
You asked your mom to visit at this initial stage for your wife and mother in law to cater for your baby and your mom while your sits her lazy ass and maybe watch television. How do you want your wife to feel watching her mom cook, wash clothes, clean the house and bathe the baby while your mom sits down, eat the food prepared by them and lazy about. You are insensitive.

Your wife wants to complain to you, you ignore her and walk away. Maybe all she needed was just a listening ear and reassurance which you never gave her. Now she complains to someone that listened and the person adds emotions plus her own frustration to act and you are calling her names, you are insensitive.

Oga, swallow your useless ego and bring your wife back to your house. You are equally to be blamed for what is going on in your house. Your sister in law and mother in law is not your problem. Be sensitive to your wife. Those things you ignored are your problem. If your mom is not strong enough, let her wait until after 3 months before coming for omugwo. She mustn’t come immediately because your wife needs support not liability.

Everything about marriage is not macho and flexing muscles. If you applied wisdom at the initial stage you wouldn’t have this problem.

You are part of the problem in your home.

Please who feeds their baby couscous, how do you make it for a baby. Sansa143, E.nque, ., Queen-snow, Jazzy-jazz, ., ., Gracious, Graciouscharis
I make mine with vegetables.
For a baby, you can blend the carrots and peas or just add soft peas and carrot if your baby can chew it.
Melt little butter in a pot, pour in the vegetables and fry for few mins, add water, allow to boil, add couscous and cook for 3 to 5 mins. You can add grounded fish and crayfish like that augustsecret’s own. You can use beef stock or chicken.
My children like it. Now that they are older, I prepare it with turmeric powder and shredded chicken or beef and meat balls.
