Romance / Re: Help! I Need Advice On How I Can Forgive This Pastor. by GRAND30(m): 11:34pm On Oct 26, 2014
Brewing grudge for six whole years against a dude over an adult female lover who jilted you? So pathetic how you've made yourself a prisoner of heartbreak for this long! Forgive him and become a freeman; hate on and remain a prisoner. Your relationship with that girl would still have failed at a point in time. From your narration above, it obviously was a wishy-washy fairytale rooted in flash romance. Proof? One hurdle, everything crashes. Be grateful it failed pretty early before you even threw your all into it. Be grateful, forgive them, make progress again. Cheers!

I'm distraught that such a nasty nonsensical worthless deviant imagination would be running unchecked in the mind of a man who should be a husband and father. If you have not begun a serious marital journey at your age, you certainly need to reassess your life. Wake up dude, it's daybreak already!

You really think they don't deserve their tea? Maybe I should remind you that what is lawful practice in A's place could be taboo in B's abode. Didn't they know what the norms were before they got themselves in there? You seem immutable about this. I wouldn't go further trying to sway your thoughts about the incident. Shalom!
Romance / Re: What Do A Girl Mean By I Need Space by GRAND30(m): 8:14pm On Oct 15, 2014
Relationship is a cosy warm haven when it is has no one under duress. Obviously she doesn't feel the same way as she used to anymore. She may not be leaving you for a money bag, but she is leaving you for what she feels is best suited to her newly developed taste. She feels you cannot offer beyond what you've offered her these past years, and here comes a fresh-looking fella, slick and novel, pulling the strings of love so skillfully that she no longer remembers the "drab" moments and promises you both shared. Everyone wants something new. She's found something new and that thing isn't you. Walk away dude! It's graver pain to marry someone against their wilful consent. Take a new road right away...whether or not she decides to come back.

Really? When did piercing of ears become a Christian thing? All I can say is moderation is key in all we do and moderation in itself is relative. Suspending a student over an issue such as that is excessive as the suspension doesn't imply the hole is closed thus, it hasn't solved the issue on ground. I expect they handle issues a better way than they go about it most times. These are reasons why we have many pretenders in our churches and it will only get worse should we continue this way.

Weren't these rules spelt out to them at the point of entry? Why go to a place when you know you can't keep their laws? My opinion is simple: obey the rules or keep off! So many schools here and abroad offer as good or even better education than they do with very relaxed and secular laws. You've got money. You've got brain. You've got choice. Use it and stop whining!

OP, you sound so bitter over simple enforcement of school bylaws. Covenant University was founded by a church. Now do you expect the school to run on secular rules? The reasons for suspension that you are making us see as trivial actually mean a lot to a Christian educational institution. It isn't a secular school. Is it? There is no need flogging a dead horse or trying to make news out of nothing. Let the school deal with their wards according to their internal laws. If you want to pierce 1000 holes in your ears, simply stay away from that school! And if you cannot obey the "wicked" (OP's own word) bylaws of any institution, seek education elsewhere!

Why are you and your church so grieved about Linda's revelations? Were other pastors and churches not mentioned? I sense so much hate, irritation and aggression in your long defensive write-up and the subsequent unsavoury responses you've hurled at other posters who have different views to yours. You need to grow the fruits of the spirit.
Let me leave with Gamaliel's advice to the council when the apostles were brought before the high priest for questioning over their doctrines:
"And now I say unto, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
But if it be of GOD, ye cannot overthrow it..." (Acts 5:38-39).

Exactly. At least government has accorded him the honour of being free from arrest and public embarrassment, but he has shown no appreciation for this undeserved kindness. All that the grieving families need now is a heart-felt apology and not threats. We all know that when bad things happen especially to a church, the media doesn't take it lightly. His responses so far have been very uncivilised and heartless. Can you imagine the pains of these victims' loved ones? And here he dares to call them martyrs...too bad!

My spirit was really fired up. If I were a lawyer I would have dragged this fella to court because of this irresponsible threat. This is how fake pastors and prophets have enslaved so many Christians in this country. They employ threat and fear just to keep them in spiritual slavery. JESUS never threatened anyone in the face of mockery, persecution and death. No pastor, real or fake, born of a woman would dare threaten me or any member of my family. I will collide them head to head so long as my ways are right before JESUS CHRIST. Let Christians fear the LORD GOD and simply give honour to men.

Ivanspring: Nigerians and 'follow follow' syndrome. As soon as one person mentioned 'English', the 'rest' joined in the chorus. As if English is the key to salvation. At the end of the day, your posts were of no use to the op.

@topic, you only have yourself to blame. Sometimes, too much planning usually backfires. There's a time for taking the plunge and there's a time for planning and strategising. You should have told her your mind from the onset. It wouldn't have stopped you from giving her space and time to 'grow up'. So oga op, just let her be. Its too late now or do you want her to call off her wedding and marry you?

Perfect thought! Too much time spent on planning could rob anyone of their chance of hooking up with a heartthrob. *Just got over the pain of belated proposal*
Family / Re: Real Men Do Not Beat Their Wives by GRAND30(m): 12:46am On Sep 29, 2014
Physical abuse in marriage is nonsensical and should be criminalised. Only male animals beat their females and afterwards make love to them. Mr cock is a classic example. A woman's greatest asset is her mouth, and only babyish quick-tempered callow husbands seem not to know how this could be managed. Beating your wife does irreparable harm to your male and female children respectively. That monstrous habitual action somehow creeps into your male children, and they start to see wife battery as a way of resolving issues in marriage. While your female children become verbally abusive and nurture unwarranted hate towards men (and eventually their husbands). THE EVIL LIVES ON! Once any man starts punching his wife like a ring boxer, that marriage will never remain the same. Walk with her wisely: "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto a weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered" (1 Peter 3:7).

People break up physically without breaking the spiritual (emotional) cord that binds them, which is of course far stronger than anything. Illicit sex strengthens this cord. Love-making binds you to someone beyond the physical reality that your eyes can see. If you are unlucky to have dated, had illegal sex and eventually jilted a diabolical girl (or fella), you may be held up in "prison" for a pretty long time. People do anything to get back someone they passionately love. Desperation could drive them into employing any means, physical or spiritual, to hold on firmly to their lost "treasure". Lesson for all:
1. Don't make a marriage promise you know you won't keep.
2. Avoid illegal sex. It's a covenant of blood.
3. Part ways in peace as early as possible.
4. Don't waste a lady's time when you know you have no future plans for her.
5. Never do blood oath no matter how much you love each other.
This is Naija, a very spiritual place, where so many things cannot be explained naturally. Be guided!

From one person to another, from one city to another, from one nation to another, from one family to another, it absolutely varies. What I play around with and treat carelessly, someone else would trade all they've got to have and guard it dearly. One man's dream treasure is another man's playing field. For me, trust comes above all.

No price is too great to part with in exchange for peace. In a nation where the population equally shares two dominant religious beliefs, this seems to be the safest option. Let the government lure more of them away from radicalism by offering them something better. You that are crying foul play and seeking firm justice, it is apparent that you do not know what peace means to the people living in these devastated areas. As Jewish as Israel, they still do prisoner exchange with Palestine to the exasperation and disgust of the Israeli citizens. Check all the countries where Jihad wars are being waged, government's deployment of violence alone has failed to return peace. Those fanatical fellas don't treasure their lives the way you do yours. Nigerians, please let us magnanimously grab peace at the seemingly unacceptable price it is being sold back to us.

A game of entertainment. Football doesn't seem to fit into the above anymore. Heavy bets, passionate aggressive arguments, violent clashes, cult colour affiliation and a lot more vile inconceivable oddities are football's latest trend. People could easily abuse you for expressing an opposing opinion about their choice club side. Discussing football with folks outside my "territory" has finally been dumped in a trash can of taboos. The fanaticism is truly very strange and sickening. One could erroneously think that these big football earners know their religious fans personally. Alas! You are on your own! How I wish fans would serve GOD with half the passion.

Family / Re: Male Teachers And Attractive Female Students by GRAND30(m): 6:55am On Sep 23, 2014
Teacher-student romance in secondary school is at the most advanced stage in human history. Sometime in the past, I took up a teaching job at one secondary close to my crib. English Language and Literature in English were two subjects they direly needed help in, though they had a teacher but I was favoured to marshal the senior classes. My people, it took amazing grace for me to spend less than one year there unscathed. From SS1 to SS3 there were open and direct passes made at me. Gifts, calls, text messages were coming in torrents. If the school was owned by the principal, he would have laid me off pretty quickly. Although the proprietor, a woman, became concerned about how my name was being sung around by the female students including her daughter but she just had to allow me stay on because of the marked difference she especially noticed in her daughter's command of English. Summarily, I later left to continue university education when my IT period expired. Thank GOD for me. Why? There was one very pretty and confident student who almost pressed herself into my life but failed...it was GOD'S grace that just helped me. I too narrowly escaped giving in...GOD'S grace. Few months after I left, I learnt she was impregnated by one randy fella. Since then, I decided never to teach again.

Why would a sane fellow advertise a soft frothy blog story on a sobering thread of this sort? Another up there even posted some nasty erotic pictures of Beyonce. Where is conscience? Death, wherever it happens, puts tears in someone's eyes somewhere. Christians have grown too numb spiritually that many cannot discern fake from real. Mr Kayode is even more dumb. With all the silly rules and questionable practices, he still would not walk away because Joshua prophesies and works theatrical miracles in the full glare of everyone. This is how so many Christians will be pulled into hell alongside these false prophets that have flooded Nigeria. Love for miracles, love for prophecies. This was how Chris stole the souls and brains of so many people with his staged healing miracle crusades. He took over the tv airwaves. He booked all available tv stations across this nation to televise what people wanted to see. It was like wildfire. Where is atmosphere of miracles today? Why the decline even in his lifetime? Miracles are good but let your love for GOD and your neighbour be your number one. Joshua has never been GOD'S servant. Where he belongs, he knows. I'd like you to know that Nigeria seems to be a leading place where JESUS' prophecy on proliferation of false prophets in the last days is being fulfilled. Mind where you go worship GOD, turn down church invitations you are not comfortable with, churches don't show you their dark sides on tv, study your Bible daily, watch and pray, fear the LORD...the just shall live by faith!

Don't judge me as being too spiritual, please calmly observe the current trend of aggression and violent events around the world and you too would realize that the world is standing somewhat on a war cliff. Rather than whining in lamentation, I wish we would spend more time praying for this nation and other turbulent regions across the globe. The church statement is absurd, thoughtless and absolutely beyond the pale. It soothes no one, it shows no empathy, all it does is point fingers of disapproval at people who took responsibility to make this tragedy public. Were they planning to sit on this saddening newsworthy event? How perplexing that a church couldn't churn out a sensible statement in the face of an avoidable disaster!

Mortals offer no justice! But I trust more in the verdict of the Greater JUDGE who sits in the circle of the earth. Pistorius and his likes who have sneaked through the fallible human law system with their open dramatic emotional outbursts, sleek narration, celebrity status, would certainly not fool the Greater JUDGE whose unrestricted eyes see through thoughts and intentions. As for Reeva, I hope she now finds peace where she sits keenly following how mortals have very likely distorted the tragedy that snuffed life out of her. My fear is that more ladies will walk this path again and again, hanging out with an erratic bellicose dude battling with self-control. Reeva thought she could manage his unpredictable outburst...she was wrong. Well I hope she was saved. Justice belongs to GOD!
