Na wah o... See the multitude of haterz!!! "Ota po ju enemy lo!" Chelsea beating Arsenal is nothing strange, neither does it mean that Chelsea will even win the same Capital One cup.

Peeps that had been secretly afraid of the way Arsenal seems to be getting better this season after years of being in the doldrums now have a chance to rejoice at a seeming downfall. But that is football, the season still offers many other opportunities and football is unpredictable. Your own team too may be down tomorrow.

On to next game... COYG!!! Victoria Concordia Crescit!!!

Arsenal certainly played with heart and deserved to win this game. However, it remains to be seen whether Wenger will add some muscle and flesh to this team, or else the end of the season will be characterized by the usual "roforofo" fight for 4th place sad

No one is asking you to sign all

Serious clubs don dey sign players and are in pre season already. By transfer window una go come dey sign 7 players in 2 days and get Santos, Per, Podudski etc

Man City don sign, Madrid, Juve, Chelsea, Barca, Dortmund and their father Bayern Munich

Na only useless clubs like Arsenal dey take 1 month do medicals for Higuain when no be leprosy he get.

3yrs time we go hear Na Wenger wan first sign Goetze, Neymar, Messi, Blatter and Pele

Once a useless club, Always a useless club

I coulda sworn I saw comments from more than a couple of men stating the car was ugly (one of them, a renouned car sales man on NL). Surely Mr. Ajanlekoko isn't trying to tell us these men are in the throes of some identity confusion crisis? That they actually women trapped in men's body? shocked shocked

Whoa! You never think this woman trapped in man's body phenomenon can happen in Nigerian, heck If someone else had said it. . .I woulda dismissed them but not Mr. Ajanlekoko. He must know something about these man/woman people that's why it is easy to rubbish our opinions.

Whew! While I feel sorry for these confused Shemales, I sure am glad there is a logical explain for Ajanleko's comment. Thank God, I thought it through before commenting oh! I was about to blast him to hades and call him all sorts of names and whined about the unfairness of his comment to me. . .You see, I thought he was picking on just me alone seeing as other men said the same thing and he didn't call them out but now that I know those other men are actually women and Mr. Ajanlekoko is just an an ignorant chauvinist who thinks ALL women (including Shemales) are brain dead, I feel better. cheesy cheesy

Since I have learnt my lesson, that you must know what you speak before you speaketh it, I will take your word for it that this prototype is definitely not Mercedes.

Oh by the way, you might wanna contact Mercedes and tell them the the prototype they plan on debuting at the Auto Show on Nov 30th is NOT a Mercedes. It's either they didn't get the memo you got or like the confused shemales on this thread, Mercedes is also suffering from Identity crisis. . . they think they are Isuzu, Nissan or maybe a GM.

Wow! This lady must have invented sarcasm! grin

@ Emmy Boy,
My brother, till tomorrow that "missing" money will remain "missing" in the pockets of our football administrators. Until the NFF is cleaned out our football will not make progress.
Sports / Re: Lars Lagerback Named Super Eagles Technical Adviser by grandjedi(m): 9:41pm On Feb 27, 2010
If you have decided to eat a frog why not choose one that is well-laden with eggs? In my opinion this Lager beer cheesy , sorry, Lagerback guy is an average (read "mediocre"wink coach who might not have so much to offer judging from his antecedents. Not also forgetting the fact that there is a ready excuse for failure as regards the short time frame to prepare for the world cup.

I don't want to sound negative but why would the NFF go for such a technical adviser who may not be much better than Bertie Vogts? I don't really believe it was just bc as they said "he knew a lot about Nigerian players and problems with our football since 2002" (after all our REAL problem is the FA).

A friend of mine even has this theory that the NFF hired the guy that was prepared to concession part of his $1.3 million monthly wages to the fat cats of the glass house grin grin grin

I really feel for A. Ramsey. That was a horrible injury  sad Hope he's able to come out of it and live up to his potential as a player.

I'm glad the boys pulled together and won the game with TV5 scoring the third goal (similar to one which Sol could have scored earlier).

I just hope Wenger and the boys are able to continue putting their hearts into the remaining games because the league hasn't been won yet.
Sports / Re: African Nations Cup: Egypt Vs Nigeria - (3-1) by grandjedi(m): 12:56pm On Jan 13, 2010
And so the CHICKENS, ( sorry, the Eagles tongue ) have come home to roost with a dismal performance and result. I think we're too optimistic in Nigeria else we shouldn't have been surprised at this kind of result from a team of players who couldn't care less (except for a few of them), an inept technical crew with a mediocre, incompetent coach as well as an FA that is generally into football for the money alone and by all means possible.

Sorry, before I forget, throw in with that combination a runaway ( ?brain-damaged) president.

It might not be the best to judge a competition from the first match but is there honestly anything Amodu can do beyond what he has in his brain? Qualifying for the world-cup was a real miracle and not from Amodu's expertise. Or can the players suddenly jettison their laissez-faire, partying and womanizing like-no-tomorrow attitude and make a real team similar to the final qualifier in Kenya?

For now let's do "siddon look". And hope Benin and Mozambique won't use us to shine too like the Pharoahs who last beat us in the AFCON in 1963 but were given an opportunity yesterday.

However, if we're playing Argentina first in the world cup and we did like this in our first AFCON game against an average Egyptian team, we can already know what to expect.
Sports / Re: Nigeria (2) Vs Tunisia (2) on Sunday 6th September by grandjedi(m): 7:29pm On Sep 06, 2009
Our basic problem is our FA- or rather our lack of it. Following the principle of cause and effect an inept/incompetent FA resulted in a coach like Am odu being forced on us. This inevitably trickled down to team selection and attitude of players. Until the right people are in our FA we will have to continue with this kind of mess.
TV/Movies / Re: What Was The Last Movie You Watched? by grandjedi(m): 2:43pm On Apr 08, 2009
Interestingly, the last 2 movies I saw had Chiwetel Ejiofor in different roles ;

1) FOUR BROTHERS- Old movie. The end reminded me of Denzel in Training Day (of course it was released way before TD )

2)RED BELT - Martial arts stuff. Not bad.

Still haven't seen American Gangster which had both Chiwetel and Denzel. Maybe this weekend if I can squeeze out time bc I've already outlined some long overdue movies like Hancock, Hulk 2 and one or two comedies.

Religion / Re: A Question For Tithe Payers by grandjedi(m): 5:21pm On Mar 23, 2009
@ Image 123,
Thanks, bro. Sometimes if we're not careful our focus can be shifted from performing the good works that God had called us into expending time and energy on endless arguements that don't advance Christ. I'm not saying it's wrong to argue or debate but if it becomes a never-ending-story with nothing constructive and tending to strife; then let's watch out.

When we start stereotyping pastors and castigating them everytime we talk about money, then something is wrong somewhere. This is not saying there aren't bad eggs or fakes. But I have come across and I'm still seeing many men of God who are such blessings that can't be quantified. So I think we shouldn't lump things together to the point where if you say "pastor" the first thing people will think of is "dishonest, crooked swindling rogue". My pastor and many, many others out there are very honourable men - and a call to the ministry is a high calling. Let's be careful not to make profane that which is holy.

@ Akolawole,
Important contribution there my brother. I also think a good understanding of the High Priestly role of Christ is vital in this issue. I may physically pay my tithes to my local church, but it is my High Priest in the heavenly tabernacle that receives it. He is the One I'm honouring, not man. But at the same time it is used to cater to the physical needs of the ministers and other charitable causes.
Religion / Re: A Question For Tithe Payers by grandjedi(m): 6:17pm On Mar 19, 2009
@ Topic,
Hmm, people are still waging "Holy War" on this issue of whether to tithe or not (hope we don't get any suicide bombers grin grin grin ).

Whatever side of the fence you're on concerning this issue, let's know that it's not the most important thing about Christianity. Moreover everyone should have a right to do what they want with their hard-earned or (easily-stolen cash as the case may be grin grin grin ).

IMHO this is just one of such cases of "doubtful disputations" that Paul was talking about. Let's put this issue behind us already. As long as you're saved by the blood of the Lamb we're brothers. Let me give my 10% and you use yours however you like. JESUS is still LORD!!!

Hi, Maxine. How've you been?
Talking about Slumdog Millionaire, I heard it had some true life elements of a project called "Hole in the Wall" or so which was about encouraging kids to acquire knowledge and have fun with computers placed in different locations like ATMs.

Saw a bit of the movie 2 days ago, don't know when I'll eventually get time to see the whole thing. But I think it will be good, even though Max only commended the music and directing ( maybe bc a certain rugged looking Brit didn't star in the movie ? smiley )

@ Po Deep,
Are you an Arsenal fan? If so, the day you "learn" is the day you cease being a fan. Even though the team hasn't been exactly on fire this season all fans should still keep on "fanning" their embers to flames wink .

Anything otherwise and you become an independent observer. So pls let's not give up on them just yet because this is the best run they've had all season even if it's a far cry from what we're used to.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Champions League Challenge Between Sauron & Dayokanu! Prize: $100 by grandjedi(m): 4:46pm On Feb 27, 2009
I don't see any probability of Inter scoring more than 1 goal @ OT ( which is adequate in the unlikely scenario that that they conceed only 1 goal as well ). However, everything points to ManU carrying the day even though the pressure will be on them not to conceed goals. But I think they'll handle that pressure.

The minutes are ticking away. If the rumours are correct, Arshavin is still likely to be in. This is from Gunnerblog :

Now, Arshavin.  The Goon Blog has an audio interview with a Russian journo who has spoken to the Zenit St. Petersburg press office, who are confident they’re approaching an agreement on a £15m fee is “very close”.

Apparently the “flying back to Russia” story was a smokescreen to get Sky Sports News off Arshavin’s tale and panic Zenit into reducing their price.  Sky are now also reporting that a deal is “very close”, and it seems that (as ever) Dennis Lachter is their source.

We should have an outcome one way or the other within a couple of hours.  The deadline has been extended, but only with very specific stipulations that will not apply to any Arshavin deal.  Fingers crossed.

It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Mugabe is in a "till-death-do-us-part" covenant concerning power in Zimbabwe. Since the other Zimbabweans who can unite and remove him (be they military men or politicians) seem to be in cahoots with him, the only hope for the masses is for Mugabe's creator to call him home.

It's too obvious he'll never relinquish power- not for one minute.
