Okay, Thanks Sir.
I really appreciate your insight.

spyder880:

Budget about N400,000 for it. It could be much less if you're using cheaper materials than the ones I used on this building.

Currently putting a recently published book through the launch process and the result has been impressive.

Given the recent change in the Publishing industry (audiobook Goldrush is officially over), it's even more important to extract every bit of performance from the ebook, paperbacks and hardcover editions of your book.

One way to maximize performance is via Amazon Advertising. This is a bit scientific and a bit artistic. It requires patience and constant monitoring/optimization to weed out the non-performing keywords and double-down on the keywords that are bringing sales.

Do this well, and you will see tremendous results in your bottom line

That being said, it's incredible to note that quite a number of people are still sleeping on publishing. You see people searching for legitimate ways to make money and change their lives.

Get this...in 2019, my total revenue from Publishing was over N50 million and N36 million of that was pure profit

If that is not life-changing I don't know what is.

Keep your head down and work hard and smart. With persistence and the right strategies, you'll eventually unlock your potential and earn the income you deserve.

N/B - The dollar to naira exchange rate has been an absolute joy for those who earn in foreign currency!

Yet another reason to stop sleeping and get publishing

Please how do you stop unperforming keywords?

I can't find any button on my ads dashboard to stop individual keywords. I want the ad to keep running but I want to stop the ones with many clicks but no sales.

2014, I got admitted to study Medical Lab Science with connections from the provost of Federal Med lab school and many well known lecturers in the university even though my waec and jamb were excellent (2 As, 5 B3, 1 C4 and a score of 246 in Jamb).

I don't even know who or what was directly involved. . But when I started, I was very unmotivated. I really can't tell why. Maybe wrong associations, maybe cos it wasn't medicine, I don't know.

After the first semester of 100 level, I left the university. One of the lecturers who aided my admission begged me to rescind my decision or at least to defer it. In her exact words, 'I'd regret my decision'. Still I left without deferring.

My widowed mum was terribly heart broken. I was hers and my late dad's pride. I was the most intelligent of her three kids. I remember telling her that 'School na scam, if I do business, I go make am quicker'. She always told me and my siblings that we weren't cut out for business life. Still I ventured into photography. Spent 6 months in training to become a pro photographer. In 2015, I bought my own Nikon D3200 camera and a second hand hp laptop. I started meager jobs. I was earning small cash here and there. To be a top photographer tho, I needed equipments; a good Speedlite, good zoom and prime lenses, not my ordinary 18-55mm kit lens, soft boxes, and so on. And these would cost money. Money I didn't have. My camera and laptop were the only thing I could afford then.

Few months later, I started regreting my decision of leaving school. I would see my former coursemates in town and they'd ask questions on why I left, but I really couldn't provide any tangible reason for leaving. One even showed me some of my first semester grades and I was almost in tears 'cause I did very well. I was almost getting depressed late 2015. 2016 came and it started just as dull. But just before the closing date for Jamb registration was due, I bought a form. Same course (Medical Laboratory Science), same university. This time around, I would do everything low key without asking for anyone's assistance. I wrote jamb and got a score of 259. I checked on jamb portal when admission status began to be checked and lo and behold, I was admitted. I called my mom and even though she was happy for me, she told me, she wasn't gonna sponsor my admission this time. I was heartbroken but I can't blame her to be very honest. But then, we started hearing news that our admission would be cancelled because of accreditation issues. In fact, our names weren't included in the school's admission portal. School started and still, no news. But I was convinced God was giving me a second chance, so I started attending lectures even though we didn't know our fate. Two weeks before exams, our accreditation issues were resolved and our names finally appeared on the school's portal. Medical lab sci, biochem, and slt had this problem. So two weeks was added for us to receive short additional lectures, while others were writing exams. That was how my second chance began.

I'm presently in 300 level. Today, my former coursemates would be inducted as MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS. I couldn't sleep at all. I would not go to the induction as I may not be able to control the tears. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN AMONG THE INDUCTING STUDENTS, BUT I THREW IT ALL AWAY. The most painful words anyone can utter in life are, "HAD I KNOWN". Don't make costly mistakes that would make you say these words!!!

You did well OP. Very few people get to explore "The path not taken". You did and saw it wasn't for you... yet.
Finish school and get back to photography.
Don't be discouraged. Lots of people make the same mistake but never recover quick enough.
Kudos on your resilience

Amazon has changed your keywords does not necessarily need to be in your tittle or subtitle
research about power word or emotional words
try to use them in your tittle and description
to rank your book for your keywords simply get people to type your keywords into the Amazon search box locate your book and buy it.
if you can do that for 40_59 time your book would be ranked higher
Amazon has changed their algorithm lately

Thanks for this insight.
where can one hire people to search and purchase books? and how much do that 40-59 purchases cost on average?

Business / Re: Fiverr: Preparing For January 15th Evaluation by Greatbeard(m): 11:25am On Jan 23, 2018
mrphysics:

Wow, this is really inspirational. I had to copy your second paragraph to someone I met on twitter and who has been complaining of not receiving orders from BR page.

To your question. My basic gig is $40, Standard gig $70, and premium gig is $120. So you see how easy it is to earn that. I always have more orders coming from my standard gig and my premium gig. So it is easy to hit that target. This January, I have been getting orders from my basic gigs and its been so difficult. Thus far, i have earned $744 though I have 4 gig in queue. If completed before January ends (as they will be) I should make between $900 - $1k this month (I do not want this month to end without my hitting that target).

So the issue is having gigs in high selling niche. If you are a copywriter who writes for $15, $20, $25, you will realize that it will be very hard to hit that point. I scaled through the evaluation though and I thank God for that. So if you can do copywriting, then you can write books too. Books will give you a higher price/order thus increasing your earning. I have completed only 104 orders with a total earning of $5500.

You might move very fast to level 2 offering copywritig gigs, but the total earning will be around $2000. So do include book writing to your services (create a gig for it).

Yes, the period I was writing for someone, I never knew I was preparing myself. Earning N400k+, N300k+, etc aside monthly salary is encouraging. Everyday, I spend my time in fiverr forum reading and learning from TRS sellers and other sellers. I will take time to read that my thread again, lol, let me ride through memory lane. Kudos to you bro. More $$$$ to your account

Excellent!
in fact, your post about moving to level two very fast with about $2000 is astonishingly accurate! I just crossed $2000 myself with over 90 orders completed.

I really thought copywriting was where the money's at but I really have to to get into book writing immediately.

How much would you charge for...say a 5000 word book? its time to create a gig.

yes. you really should read that thread, its always good to look back on the journey fondly as it helps to appreciate the distance covered.

Thanks a lot for the pointers bro. More $$$$$$ and ink to your pen.
Business / Re: Fiverr: Preparing For January 15th Evaluation by Greatbeard(m): 4:30pm On Jan 22, 2018
mrphysics:
The truth is, most sellers are not aware of January 15th evaluation. It's going to be a judgement day for most sellers. So many sellers are going to fiverr hell, I pray I am not one of them.

Sellers that successfully scale through this rating will have more others than they ask for. Reasons being that, most sellers are not aware that these factors are necessary.

Someone told me that her rating is currently 84% while another guy suffered two 2 star review.

Check your analytics now and know your fate.

I scaled through too, although narrowly.
My writing journey started right here on nairaland (writing for nairalanders who outsource) but have since moved to fiverr and I'm glad that I built up my skill first before joining.

I was shocked when I found out that the real value of what i was writing for my nairaland client was way higher in reality(copywriting) and with that zeal, I earned my level one and two in no time at all by sleeping on the buyer request. In fact, the BR was like my WhatsApp, Facebook, I never logged out, never bought a review. I would send bids for days and not get hired until it started trickling in.

my advice to all new sellers: There is really no magic trick, keep sending bids as they come, you may have dry spells(days of no orders or even contact from potential clients) but when the orders start coming, you will start selecting what to work on. Master your skill and keep on bidding, these were my only weapons as a newbie. But now, I have learnt how to upsell my services.

A quick question to you @mrphysics , I've been writing quite consistently but only manage to hit the $300 mark every month. Could you drop some pointers as to the nature of writing you do to drive in the big bucks as you posted above. nothing too specific, just a few tips (perhaps writing sub-niches to get into and other high pricing gigs to create)

Gotta hand it to you, your thread on how you made 60,000 was inspiring as I was on the same path at that point. it's impressive how real our progress is on this. More ink to your pen, and gentle breeze to sooth any impending writers block.
