PoliticsTribal And Religion Politice by Greatfuture(op): 8:02pm On Dec 08, 2013
Tribalism and Religious inclination has taken its toll on our country Nigeria. Nigeria with an estimated population of one hundred and sixty million is a secular state with the majority in the Christian and Muslim religious fold while the rest remain in the African traditional religion. Our country is made up of close to three hundred tribe spread over thirty six states and the Federal Capital territory. In every tribe in the country, you find people of different faith.
What is actually the problem? A nation which is over fifty years of independence is bedeviled with myriads of problems, and thus has the needs for its citizen to see beyond tribe and religion, but, NO!
At no time in our country history are we so divided by tribe and religion like now, the reason for this is not farfetched, as our political leaders have keyed into these weakness to achieve their selfish end. Our leaders blindfold us with either of this twin to turn us away from their high handedness and corrupt practices. With the poverty rate and unemployment in the country they get an easy voice to orchestrate it for them.
What do you say of a minister who allegedly bought cars out of budget, instead of clearing herself of the allegation comes out to say she is been hunted because of her tribe and yet instead of her tribal loyal members asking questions jumps at the bait and start varying protest and threat to others. What do you say of a minister accused of been the problem of ASUU negotiation with FG, only for her to come out to say that ASUU is circulating pamphlet against her in the mosque, what does she stand to gain? religious sympathy from the Christian folds because the ASUU president is a Muslim from Kano, what she fails to know is that the ASUU president did not call the strike alone. What of those arraigned or invited by the EFCC for fraud and only to use one of the twin to buy sympathy. We can go on and on.
What do you say about a President inspite of loss of life and property in the North east did not see it as expedient enough to act until the situation got out of hand because of the belief that the action was from perceived opponent who do not want his presidency because of his faith or tribe, he forgets the fact that when even you lost an election in any ward they are still persons who voted you there. Lest I forget Borno is made up of different tribe and religious belief, Kanuri,Margi, Bura, Chibok,Gwoza, Babur and other tribes the same for other states in the North east and other states in the country, travel to Bayelsa and you will notice that the Ogbia people where Mr President comes from speak a different language from other people from the same state . What do we say about elders who rather than speak against the vices in their state chose to politicize it because they are of the same faith or tribe. One will come to say that militancy is good because he comes from that part of the country or the Osisikanku kidnapping is right. Call a spade a spade, crime in whatever form is crime and should be treated as such.
If I may ask, does the bad road network separate a particular tribe or religion to die or be maimed for life when accident occur on it? The answer is NO with apologies, since it did not spare our mother In Law and all those who died or are injured on those road, am also a victim. Does the plane crashes choose those to destroy? NO. don’t forget some of the plane crashes killed those who never dreamt of going to the airport in their life, need I remind you of DANA plane crash in Lagos which crashed into people’s house or the one in Gwammaja at Kano. Even the corpse of a late politician crashed, that reminds me of Fela ‘’Double wahala for dead body’’. Does our out of facility hospital choose who to treat or not base on tribe and religion, why do the leaders choose foreign hospital if they have headache is it that our doctors here know nothing? The educational system is collapsing and the politicians call our graduates half baked. What do you expect from a student who sits under a not to conducive environment or a laboratory without a test tube or a computer lab without a mouse, a mechanical and electrical workshop without a spanner and a tester, what of library without books, when a research student in 2013 is referencing a work of 1965.With the education system in comatose, they send their children abro Our refineries are dead; Industries are packing up due to lack of power/energy. The problems are much as a nation, apologist of the government will come to say the problems have always been there but they quickly forget that they are voted in to make the change, need I say that not just changes but a positive ones that will affect the citizenry rather than playing the tribal and religious card and Nigerians quick in swallowing it hook, line and sinker.
In as much as I write I do not say we should do away with our differences but rather understand them and not allow them to be used as a blind fold by our corrupt leaders any time they want to perpetrate their sharp practices.
The National assembly, with the upper chamber having 109 senators, with three from each state and one from FCT. The lower house with 360 honorable representing constituencies from every state. The FEC has at least one person from each state. At the state level same goes at the executive and legislative arm. Have you heard that these persons have declined their position because it conflict with their faith or tribe.
The problem I speak of is not only at the Federal level but also at the state, local and every facet of our national life. When a man is appointed to a position, the other people are quick to say he is not one of us. When he messes up the other people will say leave him is our son and is our turn.
Tribe and religion aren’t our problems; rather corruption is, while tribe and religion are only diversions. It’s corruption that makes the man in power to divert money meant for our roads, hospitals, schools, energy and power and infrastructural development. The man or woman is not thinking of you or me when he busies himself accumulating this wealth, but when he or she is caught he shouts out to you and me that he or she is been crucified because of his or her faith/religion or the tribe. WISE UP NIGERIANS

PoliticsRe: Have You Held Leadership Position? What Was The Experience Like? by Greatfuture: 12:55pm On Nov 11, 2012
leading aint an easy task,as it comes with a lot of responsibility which requires commitment, steadfastness, integrity and challenges if u really want to serve.from been born as the eldest in the family through primary school and present day place of work it has been a lot of experience all through.not forgetting d fact there are lots of forces working against your progress.Just yesterday a younger brother of mine said am irresponsible because i advised him to do things appropriately as it concerns him,but all the same i didnt get angry rather i calmed him down and explained to him why he had to take the right channel.he understood and apologized or is it subordinate who start a rumor mill that you stole the money meant for them even when such funds hav not been approved.in all leading is fun especially when you know you have touched lives
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Offer: Buhari’s Response Is Shocking. by Greatfuture: 8:53am On Nov 10, 2012
General Buhari may be right, do you represent someone you do not know as a person, you do not no his ideology, even a bank will say dont introduce someone you do not know, does any lawyer just wake up without knowing an accussed and say he wants to defend him. Lets be logical and stop been emotional or sentimental. If i tell you to go and represent at a meeting, will you just pick your bag and go? Lets reason before we talk. The Federal government has said times without number that they Know does behind it,why dont they arrest and prosecute them, instead of trying hard to smear someone else with it.

PoliticsRe: Kogi Assembly Impeaches Speaker And Principal Officers by Greatfuture: 6:45pm On Oct 16, 2012
All the assembly members are of no use to the people of the state, as they are mere rubber stamp arm of the government who like other Nigerian politicians are blinded by greed and self enrichment. At the end of four years you see them turn beggers if they dont return to the house.
