7Alexandre: I don’t know if they included their Lab Test...
But like I said before $3k is too low for child birthing purposes...
Spending about $10k makes more sense...
Again just because you paid $10k before doesn’t exclusively grant you the ability to obtain a renewal anytime you want...
You must also prove to the Visa Officer that you intend to return back to your home country after giving birth...
We must ultimately remember that a Visa is a Privilege not a right... Thank you visa officer |

Nenye2015: Brief history Got a medical visa in 2016 for childbirth, I had paid a hospital bill of $1250 prior to my interview and we were granted visas. Had another baby nov 2017 with the same visa but called the embassy to inform them and they said it was ok. Applied for Dropbox but was called for follow up interview and asked to bring itemized bill. Our interview was on the 4th of March, Abuja. The VO after going through the itemized bill said we were given 90% discount and such discounts are only reserved for their low income earners and totally not acceptable for foreigners. She placed us on administrative processing and asked us to go pay the outstanding bill and send the receipts back with our passports via dhl. The hospital is saying my account is closed and we can’t make payment. To be honest, going with the itemized bill they sent I had a total bill of almost $30,000 for both births but was asked to pay only $2500, the discount is huge, who pays the outstanding? We are ready to pay it but they are not giving us that option. Who has been in this situation and how was it resolved? Please what hospitals did you use |

drafrican: But whats the solution......the best way out if ur bill was less than 10k Somehow this grp is not like before people were more eager to share info I’ve heard pple have gone ahead to pay 6k on 5 k bills but no one has come forward to say if they were able to renew after. Has anyone renewed without 221g interview Has anyone with a bill of less than 10k succesfully renewed Has anyone reapplied after d initial refusal and then gone on to get the visa Is abuja milder than lagos Etc The info here is too sparse Is it possible one should email the embassy like form a group or something (lol) send a mail fax or anything and politely ask what can be done because the way I’m scared it’s just asif I didn’t pay atall sef.or that @lagosniv should be brought into this |

trav: Hello House, Please I need some advice as I am a bit confused. My son who is nine was refused a B1/B2 visa today because of a reason I find very hard to believe. The boy was going for an excursion with his school and we had paid all fees. To start with, we got our first US visa in 2013 and traveled in 2014 for summer and my wife also gave birth there (Mind you we contacted the embassy about our plan to birth there and got a positive response). We successfully renewed our visa via drop box in 2016 and it expired November 2018 but unfortunately we were unable to travel with it because of some family issues and other factors. I decided to do a drop box for my son in December 2018 towards his trip in March but his passport was returned after 30 days and requested to schedule an appointment (221g). We went for the interview today and all was going well until the consular asked if we had a zero balance for the birth in US. I gave her the zero balance document issued by the hospital and after a few minutes she said he does not qualify for the visa and that what we paid for birthing was far below the average in Arizona where we had our baby. The hospital we used was MIHS and we paid full in cash. I tried to make her understand that that was the package and what we were billed and that we had also renewed our visa after the birth process but she insisted he does not qualified. The refusal shook me as it is the first (And hopefully last) I will ever experience. My worry is what the next step to take is. Obviously he can’t make the trip again as the group leaves Nigeria by third week of March. However I need some advice on what to do next. My son no longer qualifies for drop box but I, wifey and daughter still do. I want to know 1. Do we apply for our own visa renewal via drop box and if successful, then we schedule a new interview for him? 2. Do we ignore the drop box and all schedule an interview together? 3. Do we just forget applying for the US for now while visiting other countries? We have good travel history.
I will appreciate all objective suggestions Is this lagos or Abuja. Forget Dropbox apply straight when you have reasons to travel |

Marylandmama: So I went for my 221G interview today... .
Brief history : I got my 1st Visa in 2014 and I declared it was for birthing during the interview, I gave birth In 2015 and renewed my visa via dropbox in 2016. I had my 2nd baby in 2017 and also went on vacation in 2018.
Fast forward to Dec 2018, we applied for dropbox but we got the letter to schedule a follow up appointment in Jan after 5weeks. .. We got Feb 27th for the interview date. So many people were at the embassy for 221G interview.
Got to our turn Me and DH: good morning VO: how many kids did you have in the US? Me: 2 VO: can I see your payment receipt Me: hands over the well arranged receipts per birth itemised bill from both hosp and doctor (I used Maryland for both delivery, same hosp and doctor and paid about 11k dollars per birth) VO: what are you going to do in the US? Me: vacation VO: how long? Me: 3 weeks VO: where are you going to and do you have someone there? Me: Maryland and yes, my uncle VO: wat do you do Me and DH: blah blah blah VO starts to detach pur old passports from the bundle and I knew at that point that she was going to give us. VO hands over the white paper and told us to pick up our passports in 3days.
Am so relieved and happy .
What I heard from other people's interview is that itemised bill is a must have and they frown at huge discount. Heard a VO telling a pregnant lady that the discount she got for her previous birth was too much and she denied her. Another man was denied cos he didn't come with his wife's itemised bill instead he came with a letter saying she's not owing. I also noticed the VO was checking something on the wall in her cubicle : as if they have price list of how much hospital bills shld be per state. I wish other people going for interview good luck oh Please how much was your discount because mine from oakbend was about 9800 is that too much |
