When this man knew he wouldn't want his child speak Yoruba, why did he marry a Yoruba woman. Can we say he's suffering from inferiority complex or is he just insecure or is he a tribalist? To settle this, @op, sit him down and discuss gently and humbly with him, let him realise that, even if you dont speak this Yoruba language with d kid, he will still eventually pick it up in the enviroment while growing up. Or betterstill, tell him to communicate with his kid in his language while you also speak with him in your language, afterall, you also have half of your gene in your kid. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander. |

kingoflag: GEJ is a newbie: ARE YOU PROUD TO SAY THATS YOUR PRESIDENT?GEJ is not a newbie. He was once a deputy governor, once a governor, once a Vice President, once an Acting President, and now a sitting President, who wants to recontest in 2015. So, tell me, how is he a newbie in politics? |
Why do the families hate each other so much like that? Is it because of cultural, tribal or religiously differences? Or because of a major dispute between them, that is not easy to forgo? Why did you decide to get pregnant before marriage, knowing fully well that both families are against you both? Why didnt you both try and resolve the issues between the two families before going the family way? I would have suggested that you tread with caution and ammend all the ammendables before walking down the aisle, but really dont know what to say now that you are already pregnant. Sometimes, our parents' voices are voice of God, so, i dont normally advise people to ignore parental consent in a sensitive issues like marriage, because, marriage is like a black market, you hardly know what is in it until you enter, and if and when you enter and things do not work out as expected, who do you call on, when both families are not in supportive of your marriage. Another area is the area of bringing a child into a family where there is no love, it's not good for such a child's psychology, lest the child grow up and believe no good can come from any family member. It may also affect the child's self concept and esteem. And finally, something is really wrong with you and your fiance not agreeing on the type of wedding to go for, your both families are not in support, yet you both dont one voice. Is your fiance not aware that your both families are against your coming together, if he does and yet insist on family blessing,(not a bad idea if things are right between you two) then, something is fishy Something is definitely wrong. I will advise that you both go and meet your respective families and work out things from there, if they insist after that, im sorry to say, in marriage, love alone is not enough o. A word is enough for the wise. I pray God give you the wisdom to go about this rightly. Amen. |

All i'm interested in is that the strike should be called off. The students have suffered enough! Their time have been wasted enough! Haba! Do they want them to grow grey hairs before they are back to school The president tried and showed a quality of a good leader by negotiating, persuading and appealing the ASUU, yet, we haven't heard anything about calling off the strike! Sometimes, it's wise to shift ground because of a certain reason, wich they (ASUU) can do because of the students' life and time that are involved, but seems they aint concerned. This is not fair o. |
But how were they able to adjourn the case whey they had ran away for their lives? Is it after the hoodlums left or what? |

The man is confused, but from the look of things, he has interest in joining APC. But, sincerely, i dont know why APC is always after deserted PDP members, why do they always woo the PDP members, cant they perform withut them? If this continues, then, it's still the same old wine in a new bottle. I understand that there is no permanent friend or foe in politics, but with the way APC is going about wooing and snatching desrtet PDP member, then, nothing new apart from what PDP is known for should be expected from and of them. It is well. |
I have some questions.......... Must Buhari rule this country again ![]() Why has Buhari been silent over BH saga since it started ![]() Personally, i dont have anything against Buhari and any other politician for that matter, but why do we always mention the names of those that have ruled before? Does that means no other Nigerians is entitled or wise enough to rule Nigeria again? Why? Why?? Why ![]() |

Alfoasegh: But your husband slapped you last night, why are you still under his roof?are you her husband? Abi how did you know this? |
chineloSA: I cannot fully blame the woman. Alot of woman stay in abusive marriages because of financial dependence. Which sometimes they bring upon themselves ( by allowing to stay at home because a man suggests so), laziness or because of unemployment situation.don't be naive my brother, many financially independent women are also abused, especially when they marry someone who is below their level educationally or professionally or who do not earn up to what they're earning. Just last week, a colleague of mine was physically and brutally abused by her half baked educated husband of hers, claiming he was trying to trim her wings, as she seems to be too proud because she's earning more than him. Such men are wounded lions and are more likely to suffer from inferiority complex. May God help us from such men. |
lorretta u: You doubt if the story is true because I look like someone who fantasizes about the death of another woman?dont be angry over that, dearie, that woman chose her path, you're the one who knows that you cant choose such path. |
Inasmuch as i believe that divorce should be the last resort, but not when physical abuse is involved. Women whose lives are threatened by being physically abused should realise that life is more important than marriage. One can only remain married when he/she is still alive. |
You are not yet ready, so, nothing to plan for, when you're ready, no one will tell you. And if you're not interested in getting married, no one can force you to, afterall, marriage is not compulsory for everybody, and not everyone will get married. May God help you in whatever you decide. |
1. Report her to your parents. Tell them every details of what she had done and still vow to do if you dont dance to her tune. Do not keep anything away from them at all as regards this situation. 2. Find how you can get her parent's number and either call or get in touch with them and explain everything she had done and the ones she threaten to do if you dont dance to her tune. 3. Please, this is no promise to keep, report her to the relevant authorities. 4. Advise her to go for mental check up.....lol. May God help and guide you through this. |
tintingz: The baby will bear the surname of the original sperm the real fatherand what if he doesn't know the name of the real father, like the prost itutes who mistakenly got pregnant and didnt discover early? Or where multiple boyfriends were involved, etc. |
To each his own, everybody have reasons for their actions and inactions. None is better than the other and none is worse than the other. An an adult, one should know what suits him/her best. Being a working class mother doesn't mean that your kids will turn out bad and also being a stay at home mother is not a guarantee that your kids will turn out to be the best. We plant and God waters. Whatever anyone wants to do, should be at the direction of God and a joint decision of the couple and everything should be for the betterment of the whole family. May God help us all. |
@op, you're generalising, and that is not fair to those women who are not like that, women helps financially, but it depends on factors like background, mindset, upbringing, and the company kept by the woman involved. UPBRINGING/BACKGROUND......If a woman comes from a home where it is the father that provides all, financially, she will believe tha, that is how it should be when she too gets married, and the status quo countinues. MINDSET........Some women just believe that since they are the one doing all the house chores, it is also pertinent for the men to do all the financing, SOP(separation of power). I have a sister like that. COMPANY.......When and if a woman keeps company with fellow women who believes that all financing should be borne by men alone, then, sooner or later, she will also join the team in believing and acting such, and before the man says jack, you will be hearing statement like...."your mates out there are doing it, why cant you do it", "you're only too lazy, too stingy, too selfish, not ambitious, dont expect to be respected, and all not whats. In my opinion, leaving all finances for men alone, especially, when the woman is also working and earning is nothing but wickedness, haba, does the woman want to kill the man? Not even in this our "God have mercy" economy we are in. In the same vein, since, a good turn, they say deserves another, a man should also endeavour to help the woman at home as regards house chores, a man who doesnt do that is also wicked, haba, some men sha, they will sit down with their legs crossed, watching TV, while their wives are cooking, washing plates, washing clothes, taking care of the kids, mopping the floor, etc on a daily basis, and at the end of the day, still expect the women to contribute to the financial aspect, haba, it's annoying now, except the person is not a human. "Otun we osi, osi we otun, ni owo fi nmo" Husband and wife should work as a team, and automatically, thing will fall in its rightful places. My opinion anyway. May God help us all. |
I used to know a family back then at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos. This family brought a small girl from Anambra State as househelp, they dont know her from adam, infact, it was someone who helped them to find her. The madam of the house told her hubby one day that since the girl dont have much to do while they were at work, that she should be sent to the govt pry schl in their neighbourhood. The man obliged and the girl was registered in pry 1 at age 9. She was the best pupil in her class throughout her stay in that school. She later got to Iju Grammar School at the age of 13, finished at 19 and cleared all her WAEC papers 9at once. This family was so happy to enrol her at OAU and later Nigerian Law School, VI. Today Chioma the former house girl is a Lawyer and is working with the court of appeal, married to a doctor and doing so well. She told me this story herself. She on her own has 5 girls in secondary school now. Dear friends, can you see how far a little kindness shown to a little housegirl can go. She says to whoever cares to listen that apart from God in her life, the family of Dr and Mrs Nwalanga brought her to where she is today, please, show a little kindness to that househelp today, it will have multiplier effect tomorrow, happy sunday.
imagine! If this woman had fell into a wicked hand, that is how her destiny would have been wasted away. |
