Nigeria politics!!! No political independence!!! Forced loyalty by and from the oga at the top! How i wish i'm able to get glued to my TV set, because another show of shame by members of the house will soon erupt! Till then, keeping my legs crossed! |
@op, in addition to having Christ, you need to study Maslow's theory of human needs. |
lovenett2002: Please, how much will it cost †̥̥o̶̲̥̅̊ organise a modern yoruba naming ceremony and what and what is needed. It depends on the type of naming ceremony you want to organise. There are low key and high key ones. It depends on you, your pocket, your preference, etc. |
Funny story! Eko for shooooooow ![]() |
The 1st step is to go to your folks and apologized to them, let them know that you have really paid for your disobedience and your adamant behaviour you put forward because of the. Assumed "love" you think you had. I'm sure they will take you as the prodigal son and forgive you, no parent can hear this type of suffering concerning their children and not think twice before refusing to forgive. Secondly, I want you to kmow that, the most important tool in the hand of a potential abuser is financial dependency, the day he asked you to resign without making appropriate replacement for your finances is the day he has decided to abuse you maritally. So, in order to gain back your independence, make sure you find something doing that will bring in money for you, no matter how meager. Do something and also teach your daughter financial independence too, she should be around 18 years now, she's no longer a kid, let her know what you're passing through, so that she won't make the same mistake you made. Thirdly, never allow a man to hit you or publicly embarrass you again, you said he said he's going to publicly embarass you the next time he come home, don't wait for him to come before taking appropriate measure in combating the issue, e-mail him about how he has been maltreating you and tell him to put you in his sister's position, if he will like any man to treat his sister the way he's treating you, beg him and if he refuses, run to your parents and let your parents confront him, the reason why his gra-gra is so much is that he knew you don't have anywhere or anyone to run to, surprise him with this. It is never too late, you can still pick up your life again and correct it weli weli. I pray God to give you the wisdom to go through this wisely. Your hubby isn't wicked, he's under some influences, therefore always pray for him and always let your son know that this isn't the right way to treat one's spouse by letting him know what is going on between the two of you so that he doesn't take the path of his dad. @all, this is a lesson for all of us, especially, the yet to marry ones, love alone is not enough, other things like compatibility, parental approval, relligious beliefs, cultural beliefs, et, al are all important for marriage. May God help us all. |
ifyalways: I love them. Boiled only please. Please ma, how was it a disaster because I'm contemplating frying it the next time I buy another set? |
Mavor: Nothing wrong in it but if the aim is to use it to try to blackmail the child when he/she is in adulthood, then it's wrong. It is a parent's responsibility to cater for his/her child.exactly my point. |
you're just allergic to the truth. GEJ was part of the government that signed the agreement with ASUU. He even reiterated his commitment to the agreement in 2012. Why is he finding it difficult to implement agreement? A contract is null and void if one of the parties involved refuses to fufill its own part of the agreement. The FG has failed woefully to fufill its own side of the contract. ASUU members are going to sit at home for as long as it takes!!! Our universities must become world class.
but me and you know that the two parties can shift ground for each other now, atleast for the sake of our students and the country at large. |

Wishing him speedy recovery! |
Imagine what the neighborhood will be like if about 3/4 of those churches have their night vigils on the same day. NOISE POLLUTION! |
I just see it as an insult to our God who want us to be one and united in Him. Why can't all the 6 churches merge together and serve their God, afterall, we all serve the same God. I believe it is greed in its real form here, everyone want to be addressed as the GO daddy, mummy, etc. May God help us in this our salvation path o. |
As a student who come from a christian family, I believe your parents must have paid their tithe on their income, so, they don't have to give you another money for your own tithe and you don't have to pay tithe on the money given to you either. May God help us all. |
Cursing whoever refuse to pay tithe by the pastor will definitely make me leave the church. Not because I don't pay mine but I think it's something one should be convinced of, not something to be enforced or made curses on. May God help us all. |
Anglican Communion! |
speedyboi: What stops these 6 churches from merging together and having one service now? SmhEveryone wants to be the head, the owner and liked to be called and addressed as "daddy" and "mummy" now! If they now come together, don't you think there will be chaos? Greedy in its naked form Smh |
@op, I think I'm the only one who have been noticing this, it's not only in Lagos, there's a particular building in Ibadan where we have 6 different denominations, I was invited to one of the churches, and I didn't wait till the end of the service before I left. I just think this type of thing is an insult to God, six different churches in a building and we claim that we serve the same God who ask us always to be one and in unity. I think we really need God's direction in this our pathway to salvation we are. May God help us all. |
GenWOJUOLA: He is still preparing his robust reply! ![]() |
Tuntheycr7: That's why Tinubu said he would have done well in Nollywood industryi think i will have to agree with Tinubu on this! |
ASUU, as a body is not the only one to be blamed in this mess we are in this country, what about our stakeholders who do not have their childen in our schools, which is why they are not taking the matter serious? Im sure if our president's children, VP's and all ministers' children are all in our higher institutions, this strike will not even hold not to talk of lasting this long. I just pray God touch the hearts of both ASUU and the FG, so that they reach a compromise and call off the strike for the sake of our leaders of tomorrow that are wasting away, educationally at home. |
This man is one funny character, he was made a special guest of honor at a private university to commission a faculty and from there, he's begging the ASUU to call off the strike, isn't he ashamed of himself? Does he think Afe Babalola who invited him will be happy? Because who doesn't know that this ASUU strike is beneficial to private university owners and their lecturers? Jonathan=best comedian of the year! |
The president through his spokeman has just told you what he knows you will all want to hear, as for implementation, dont ask me abeg! |
Sincere 9gerian: Maybe the president should even massively sack those mostly corrupt and lazy lecturers and dam the consequence. Maybe we should re-build from scratch and any of the old lecturers still interested in working will be employed under a new contractual agreement. The worst that can happen is NLC, TUC and co embarking on solidarity strike. And in addition to this, no public officer, be it politician, public servants and civil servants should be allowed to send their children abroad for any service, be it medical or educational, and also, shouldn't patronise anything private, once anyone is caught violating this rule, such should be sacked with immediate effect without any benefit. Maybe this will gear them to put in their best in making our national heritage more functional and meaningful. Just my opinion. May God help us all. |
Ribadu, thank you for saying the truth, those in powers do not have the love of this country in their hearts at all, since their children dont attend all these public schools, its either they are sent abroad to school or to private institutions for their education, they dont patronise anything public, so, how do you expect them to be humane and considerate? If one of the president's children or VP's or any of those stakeholder's are schooling in one of our universities, will they be happy seeing their children wasting away at home for almost 4 months now? I just wonder the part of planet our leaders(rulers) are from, who will not consume the products they produce themselves. I just pray God touch their hearts. And private institutions aint helping matters at all, because how many Nigerians can afford to send their children/wards to private institutions, and we wonder why crimes are increasing on a daily basis, have we forgotten that an idle hand is the devil's workshop. May God help this country. |
This strike issue is becoming something else! When two elephants fight, the grass suffer for it, in this case now, the FG and the ASUU are the elephants while the grass is the students but the ultimate sufferer is our dear country. Just imagine the effects of this ongoing strike in the lives of our youths who are suppose to be leaders of tomorrow and see how shady tomorrow(future) of our dear country will be. I just pray both the FG and the ASUU will reach a compromise and put a stop to this their face-off for the sake of our leaders of tomorrow. May God help our dear country by touching the heart of every stakeholders involved is settling this issue. |
Personally, i dont have anything against any mod, not even sexkill, and i dont thnk i can ever have any, not because of anything but because i always have the rules in my mind before posting, i make sure i follow all the rules to the fullest before i cloick the submit botton, i want to therefore imploy every co-members of this noble forum to always post in accordance to the laid down rules and regulations, let's remember that, where there's no law, there's no sin, i dont think any moderator can ban or hide any comment (s) that follow the laid down rules. I also want us to know that, for Seun not to have sacked him as a mod, it means what he's doing is acceptable and appreciated by Seun. However; @sexkill, i will also appeal to you to always give warnings and reasons for your ban to whoever you want to ban, you can make use of the pm thing, or in the particular thread where the unpalatable comment is made, it is not a noble thing for one person to be condemned or rejected by all or almost all his people, remember that you are a moderator because there are members to moderate, modesty is a value, even though, i agree that there may be some posters who might have already made themselves known as a complete nuisance, but, still, you still need to be a leader and not a ruler. @all, i beg una, let us take it easy with ourselves, hopefully, you will start to notice positive changes from him. It is well with all of us. P. S............i dont know sexkill from anywhere o, i just spoke my mind, i plead for forgiveness from everyone whom my comment might be offensive to. |
@op, from the way you said your neighbour behaved, shes thinking she's is doing her daughter favour by sending her to school, no, she isn't, it is their responsibility, if they dont do it, who do they expect to send their daughter to school for them. Tell her that, so, that she wouldn't continue to make that lady's life miserable. The daughter didn't choose to be her daughter, the mother chose to be her mother. Let the tantrums stop. |
I dont like hidden unfaithfulness, if he really wanted to be faithful, he should have legally married all of them and they will all know themselves as his wives, not pretending to be faithful to his wwife that he was actually faithful when he wasn't. I wonder how the wife at home will take the news now. He is dead now, let DNA proof them all. |
Onikaluku pelu iwa ti e. I dont want to say it's right or not; but when a parent decides to keep it, it is not to be used against them in the situation of what happened in this thread. What is the big deal there, if as a parent, you dont send your kids to school, who do you expect to do it for you? Didnt your own parent send you to school? Why is she now making a mountain out of a mole. A child can offend a parent, the best a parent can do is to correct such a child in love and with love, allow him or her to explain why he chose to be disoedient to him and enlighten him on the dangers of disobedient both to the parent and as well as to the child involved, not throwing tantrums up and down on sending him to school, that is like when one is being seeing as an ingrate. May God help all parents. |
@op, please, i beg you in the name of God, though, his staring at another woman attitude might be disrespectful to you, especially after you have told him about, but may likely be a bad habit he developed recently, since you said he's an attention seeker, each time he put up such attitude again, just ignore him and dont give him further attention, by the time he notice that you aint giving him attention again, he will ask why and from there you tell him how his actions has made you uncomfortable and him untrustworthy, hopefully, with time, he would completely forget about the attitude. So, my dear sister, dont let this ruin you of your happiness and that of your kid's happiness too. Communication and continuos one too is what you really need and may God give you the wisdom to handle this issue right. Amen. Another thing, dont be too confrontational, men dont like it and it bruises their ego, which may make them overreact, each time you want to tell him whatever he's doing wrong, tell him with all humility as much as possible. |
